Page Six: Taylor Swift will ‘play dirty with elegance and grace’ at the AMAs

The second trailer for Cats dropped yesterday and honestly, it’s even messier than the first trailer, if that’s even possible. The first trailer was just an utterly horrid, budget-looking affair which made zero sense. And the second trailer is just… the same, but with more characters and “improved” CGI. I think the aim was to make the computerized “fur” look less creepy and more natural (??) but it didn’t work. Because we’re still looking at g–damn cat boobs. Here’s the trailer:

The obvious question is “who will even watch this?” I mean, who will go to the theater and watch this as a serious person who takes movies seriously? I could see loads of drunk or high (or both) students going to see this to get their minds blown. I could see people hate-watching it. But who is the target audience? Is it just… Taylor Swift’s snake fans? Perhaps.

In another This Is Just For The Snake Fam News, Taylor’s people ran to Page Six to spill some tea about how Taylor’s American Music Awards performance is going to be super-epic and it will involve Taylor playing the biggest victim and the bravest little girl in the world.

Taylor Swift is planning a “fierce show of female artistic strength and empowerment” during her performance at the American Music Awards amid her battle with Scooter Braun over her master recordings. Music industry sources exclusively tell Page Six that Swift, 29, will fight back against Braun in both her much-anticipated performance and in a speech as she accepts the Artist of the Decade award at Sunday’s ceremony in Los Angeles. They add that Swift could also be joined on stage by her close friends and artists who have supported her, such as Selena Gomez, Kesha and Halsey.

One music insider tells Page Six, “Taylor will turn her AMA performance into a huge moment, and a powerful message. We are expecting to see artists such as Selena join her on stage as part of a fierce show of female artistic strength and empowerment. Then, when accepting her award, Taylor will likely make a statement about artists being able to own their masters, the music they created, and how she feels she has been treated by Scooter and Scott [Borchetta, the founder of Swift’s former label Big Machine]. Her friends are all going to be pushing her message on the red carpet. Taylor’s going to play dirty with elegance and grace.”

[From Page Six]

LMAO. I can just imagine Taylor typing that out. “Put this in the email to Page Six: ‘Taylor’s going to play dirty with elegance and grace.’” She was so proud of that one. If you have to tell people that you’re playing dirty with elegance and grace, guess what? You’re not really playing dirty, nor are you elegant or graceful. I don’t define “playing dirty” as “using your enormous platform to encourage your fanbase to threaten, doxx and harass people.” That’s what’s known as incitement, and it’s disgusting and not “playing dirty.” As for all of this elegance and grace, I think Ms. Bad Blood probably orchestrated this entire f–king mess so she could get attention and play the victim. It reminds me a lot of her big victim performance at the 2016 Grammys, when she made it all about Kanye’s “Famous” lyrics. Remember that? She lied about that sh-t for months and then Kim dropped the receipts. I wonder what will happen to Taylor’s little narrative this time, when she’s playing these games with powerful men, when the receipts are actually contracts, bills, legal filings, etc.

That Cats trailer LMAO so cringe!

    • Pearlime says:

It is, but somehow its not as bad as the first one. Maybe it helps that we see them speak/sing more and facial expressions. Plus the slapstick comedy bits.

    • Pineapple says:

Oh Loretta, I will go see this more than once in theaters. XO Cats never made ANY SENSE. None. I have seen the musical twice and loved it both times. Shivers ran down my back when memories was sung. It was astounding. My Mom’s cousin was in the musical. Unreal. I will see this. Man, what does it say about me???? Hee

      • paranormalgirl says:

One of my friends was the original Rum Tum Tugger on Broadway. I’m not sure how I feel about this movie, but I will probably see it when it’s on PPV

    • Mo says:

Finally broke down and watched it. The problem with the boobs is that they decided they wanted boobs, but were afraid of doing hot chick boobs and so the lady cats all kind of have underarm boobs like they are lying on their backs (but they are standing up). It makes them look like dudes with bad pec implants. They should have just gone with pert little breasts in the place a normal lady in a bra has them.

  2. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Is this ‘show’ supposed to look like a Broadway musical? A stage performance created for people who have no access to plays? Everything about it is kitsch and cringe. I don’t do musicals, even good ones so no, lol, I’m not touching this. I give myself props for watching its trailer. 😀

  3. Wow says:

She keeps getting rewarded and supported for her terrible behavior. It’s truly baffling how blind people are to her tricks. Now that she got her way by unleashing her minions on people she’s in business with, I wonder if this is going to be her new tactic from now on whenever something doesn’t go her way? Look snake fam, #whitemensomean, please help! lol And they will bully anyone to submission.

  4. T says:

Honestly, I hope she faces some kind of consequence for this stunt. I think the story she put forth had a lot of holes, and I think it’s pretty clear she encouraged her fan base to threaten, harass and doxx not just Scott and Scooter, but their employees as well (who likely have no control over the matters at hand). I used to support her fight against the music industry – and I think rooted in this mess is a real problem with how its run – but she does no favors to herself or her argument with her childish and now dangerous behavior.

  5. Ferdinand says:

She’s built an empire by playing victim.
Not a great example for women this time and age.

  6. Oui oki says:

Yeah she probably messed up here. It doesn’t really bother me. I still think those two guys come out looking worse than her. The thing she is trying to illuminate is the issue with the industry. It’s not that she’s claiming it’s illegal, just that it’s immoral. If her goal was to make people tune in it’s working. People are going to tune in even if they dislike her, because of this hype.

    • Jb says:

If you honestly think this was to highlight anything other than Taylor then you’re already drinking the kool aid. Taylor does things to help Taylor and use people as props to help her cause… the cause being to look like the victim always.

  7. nicegirl says:

I’m scared every time I see one of these CATS! pics. I cannot even.

  8. Meg says:

Isn’t there a 30 rock quote where Jenna says she’s classy and Tracy responds, classy people usually say they’re classy?
I obviously butchered that but I can’t find it online. The point being if you have to say you’re classy then you’re not

    • Kebbie says:

Yeah, she says “I’m classy.” And he says “People who say that about themselves usually are!”

    • Mo says:

My favorite “classy” line is from The Fabulous Baker Boys: “The man wouldn’t know class if it walked up and grabbed him by the balls.”

Sigh. Time to watch Fabulous Baker Boys again. Do watch it if you haven’t.

  9. Gaboo says:

I am dying at the use of this picture in the header. 10/10

  10. Caity says:

    Taylor’s people don’t go to page 6.
Page 6 is a scooter-friendly outlet. She never drops quotes or stories to them. Sounds like another scooter gaslighting story

  11. Bee says:

Literally ANYTHING with James Corden is cancelled before it’s even begun. Gimmick casting everywhere. Even Taylor Swift’s Stan Army won’t save this at the box office. Damn, it looks bad.
