Ray J abandoned his pregnant wife & one-year-old child in Las Vegas?!

I’ll admit to not really keeping up with gossip about Ray J, but what is even happening here?? Apparently, Ray J – best known to me as Kim Kardashian’s lover on their infamous sex tape – has been married for a few years to a woman named Princess Love. They have a one-year-old daughter named Melody and Princess Love is expecting their second child. The family attended the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday. After the Soul Train Awards were done… Ray J abandoned his wife and daughter in Las Vegas and then blocked his wife on Instagram!?

Singer and reality star Ray J, 38, has blocked his pregnant wife, Princess Love, 35, on Instagram — after she publicly accused him of abandoning her and 1-year-old daughter Melody in Las Vegas. “Somebody tell Scooty boy he’s only hurting himself 😂😂😂,” Princess wrote next to a screenshot of Ray J’s account, which she can no longer see. “This is so funny to me.”

Love also hinted at separating from the RayCon Global owner when responding to a fan that wrote, “My future husband would never.” Princess’ reply? “Mine either, sis.”

The mother of one — with one on the way — also suggested she’s done with her husband of three years on Twitter, cryptically tweeting “Time to let go.” Princess accused Ray of leaving her and their child in Sin City after the Soul Train Awards Sunday night after he posted a photo of them smiling for the cameras as a family. “Left me and Melody stranded in Vegas and blocked me from calling,” she wrote, “now you wanna post family photos #ByeUgly.”

Hashtag Bye Ugly is good. It’s a good thing. But seriously, how random and weird is this story? You go to an awards show and make the effort to present this happy family image – and even bring your small child to the awards show – and then you abandon your wife and child in Las Vegas and block them from calling? It’s so… f–ked up and strange. #ByeUgly

Ray-J, is a known womanizer to a point where I believe he actually hates women. This young lady like many go into this knowing his reputation, but I guess they believe he can change

  2. Mary Jane says:

SIs. You should have known, when you tossed that drink in his face and he pushed you in the pool.

    • ME says:

Yeah they had issues before she ever married him or even got pregnant with their first child. Why the f*ck she married him and then got pregnant AGAIN is beyond me. I have sympathy only for the kids.

  3. Valiantly Varnished says:

    Ray J BEEN trash.

    • BCity says:

Thank you!!! I yelled at the tv all through their entire relationship and maybe she finally listened? 😂😂. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to get heated all over again about his mother telling her mother at the engagement party that she didn’t trust Princess’ motives (?!?!). Carry on!

  4. Dragonlady Sakura says:

Ray J has always been a first rate douche, so I’m not surprised. He tried to take credit for Kim becoming famous and still claims it was because of his celebrity. He showed his a$$ before he even wed,Princess and she still married him! I hope she finally leaves him for her and her children’s sake.

    • ME says:

Well to be fair when they made the tape, he was famous and she wasn’t. That tape is what made Kim famous…so I say he has a right to take some credit for that lol.

  5. Kittycat says:

    I love Princess Love’s response

In today’s news shocking no one…

Ray Jay has always been a loser living in Brandy’s shadow. He was ALWAYS messed up by Brandy’s success. He feels entitled to it and doesn’t get why he isn’t as accepted in the business as she was, so he does dumb crap. Complete misogynist.

    • osito says:

While I think you’re right on that Ray-J is a misogynist, I’m hesitant to say that it’s because his sister was more successful, only because it seems like her money/fame was used as family money/fame. From everything I’ve seen and heard since the late 90s, those two are close and she willingly boosted his notoriety and lined his pockets when he needed it until he started selling scooty bikes. And while Brandy and their mother are close, their mother treats Ray-J like he is her literal lord and savior. And Brandy *and* moms teamed up for some social media bullying during Princess’ first pregnancy when she called Ray-J out for being a dysfunctional partner before they even got married. Ray-J tends to remain silent during these times while mom and Brandy literally threaten to fight his partner or ex (depending on who is telling the story). The pattern of behavior and entitlement I’ve seen makes me think that the real issue is that Ray-J has been coddled and told that he can do no wrong all his life, so he’s a grown spoiled child who throws tantrums when he gets called out on his abusive or dysfunctional behavior. He pulls stunts like shunning partners, then let’s mom and big sis get messy, and when the heat dies down a bit, he does what he wants. It’s sick, and I truly feel for his children because I don’t think he’s *ever* going to stop.

      • Christina says:

Osito, I agree with you, but I’d argue that they act that way because he felt bad that he wasn’t the one who got a TV series or music contract. And they are loyal, but they treate him that way because of her success. If she had been a nobody working a regular job, he would have been forced to grow a little.

      • osito says:

@Christina — I could definitely see that there may have been some overcompensation because Brandy definitely had the much bigger career for a time. But I still think that Ray-J did well enough for their current behavior to not be all about that. I think it’s got more to do with Baby Boy-syndrome.

#ByeUgly will be used by me. Princess Love, take the $$ and run. If there is any $. If not, just – RUN.

#ByeUgly has me cracking up rn lol

  8. Jb says:

Something tells me PRincess Love constantly tells ppl how she isn’t about the “drama “ but can’t survive without it.

    • Christina says:

JB and Ariel, I get what you are saying, but you have to understand what happens to women in the Black community who are with powerful Black men. Ray Jay ain’t shit, but a lot of people think he is because he’s famous. Black women are pressured to protect their men from racism in against their own self interests. I’m Mexican with African ancestry, and I was pressured to do it for my ex. “He’ll lose his job”. “He’s suffered so much rejection for not being white”. Black women are forced to be strong because protecting themselves from abuse is viewed by men like Ray Jay and his supporters as anti-Black. “You will ruin his career! He’ll never work again!! You know how White folks are. They will think ALL OF US are like that!!” I don’t blame Princess Love. I blame LA society and people who expect Black women to suck up abuse to protect their men from racism.

There are plenty of Black women who wouldn’t go near him. He’s proven trash, but she’s young. She will learn now that she has kids to protect.

      • MARKWEER says:

Christina, now that you say that a horrible memory popped into my head. One of the first interviews with Rhianna following the Chris Brown abuse scandal had her saying something like “I don’t want to ruin his career” I hadn’t thought of it until you pointed it out

      • Christina says:

Markweer, what Rihanna did was common. Abuse survivors who got out or who refuse to be gaslighted saw that from the jump.

When my ex broke into my apartment, I changed the locks, but I didn’t call the police. I should have called the police. Only ONE FRIEND told me to call the police, and he was my gay African American best friend who’d been living in Mexico the last 10 years before it happened. He’d been out of the country for so long that he didn’t have that snap reaction urging to not to do anything. My MOTHER didn’t encourage me to call the police!!!

Now we have an 80 year DVRO. It was BAD. His dad is a big-deal Black judge. I didn’t want to destroy the family rep. How stupid. When someone is an ass, they get called out. Period

    • Megbot2000 says:

      Who cares.

I hate this narrative where women are attacked for liking “drama” or “attention” (when those aren’t even bad things!) while men get off scotfree for actual abusive or otherwise terrible behaviour.

      • Jb says:

@ meg Attacked? Who’s attacking? This chick wants to publicly call out her man for “abandoning “ her (I use quotes because honestly I have no idea what the hell Is going on) which I guess she’s doing for sympathy and or attention. However ppl are suppose to forget about all the other public meltdowns this couple has had and pretend this girl didn’t know exactly what she signed up. Don’t even try to make my comment into some sort of shaming of her & absolving of him, they both messes and they know this! And sorry not sorry if you think this type of drama and attention is “good”… you probably a mess too.

    • Savannah says:

“Addiction to drama” is always childhood trauma – like neglect, emotional or physical abuse – showing its ugly head.

People who are addicted to it needs their “hit”, like people of any addiction, because it feels like normality for them.
Either it was modelled in some way or another by a parent or caregiver in early childhood, and it caused a type of chaos that the brain and nervous system get addicted to or they learned the behavior by having to cause the drama to have needs met as a child – as a survival mechanism.

So yeah, I think you’re right: she’s probably conditioned to believe she needs drama to survive.

  9. ariel says:

Hint: If a man wrote a song about his famous ex, talking about how he “hit it first”- don’t date him, don’t have sex with him.
He has shown you who he is.
    He is gross.

  10. Lala11_7 says:

He had WELL DOCUMENTED trashy behavior before she met him…

He had WELL DOCUMENTED trashy behavior during their…ahem…courtship…

So Princess knew EXACTLY what she was getting into….the fact that she would have CHILDREN WITH SOMEONE WITH SO MUCH WELL DOCUMENTED TRASHY BEHAVIOR?!?!

    I can’t….

    • Christina says:

She strikes me as somebody who is used to be treated like crap. She thinks it’s normal, but now there are kids. May she get herself together and find a living that doesn’t require her to be some dude’s doormat. I’m not completely confident that she will, but I hope she learns.

    • Bebe says:

Exactly. And she isn’t known to be a prize either. I feel bad for their child (and their baby).

    • A says:

Why does the fact that she “knew what she was getting into” make her any less deserving of empathy or compassion? I’m sorry, I don’t get it. She was treated badly. She could have known exactly what she was getting into, but that doesn’t mean she’s deserving of derision.

People make stupid decisions ALL the time. That’s a fact. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, but that’s remaining ignorant of how our thought processes work when we choose to take those actions. And there are a lot of reasons women get with men like this and have children with them. When you live in a society that by and large tells you that you need a man’s affection and approval to get by, that getting that makes you “special”, that all it takes to straighten out a sh-tty man is the “love of a good woman,” how in the world are we still going to act surprised with women continue to get with men who aren’t good for them? Women being their man’s redemptive arc is always posited as something to aspire to. Think of how many stories we still get about how the good girl can reform the bad boy and make him a better person. When we live in a society that still thinks those are the ideals women should aspire to, why on earth are we still choosing to sh-t on women who haven’t had the chance to unlearn that stuff like the rest of us?

      • otaku fairy.... says:

Good point. I think a huge part of it is also because the bar is set so aggressively low when it comes to respect for women.

  11. Eliza says:

I mean surely there’s a catalyst? Like you don’t travel with your pregnant wife and daughter to go to award then disappear into the night and publically block her on SM as the pre- planned sequence of events. He’s garbage but even that is cold for him. Either way, she’s better off without him. Run and don’t look back.
