Tiffany Haddish wants to cook for Angelina Jolie: ‘I feel like she hungry’

Salma Hayek, Tiffany Haddish at arrivals...

Tiffany Haddish and Salma Hayek were doing a lot of promotion last week for their movie Like a Boss. I hate to say it, but they didn’t get a ton of attention, mostly because of the Golden Globes and because of the giant royal story that broke. But we can still enjoy them, and I enjoyed the hell out of their chemistry together on Watch What Happens Live. I’m including the video of the “aftershow” at the end of the post, that’s where Salma and Tiff answered call-in questions. The best part is when Salma was asked about Angelina Jolie – they’re working together on The Eternals, and Salma has turned into a big Jolie stan. And as it turns out, Tiffany is already a Jolie stan.

Tiffany Haddish is ready for a girls date night with Angelina Jolie! While making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night (January 9) with her Like a Boss co-star Salma Hayek, a caller asked Salma about what it’s like to work with her Eternals co-star, Angelina.

“I have to tell you I’m still working with her, we haven’t finished. I love her,” Salma expressed. “I absolutely absolutely love her. We worked really well together as actresses, she’s incredibly talented. I’ve learned to discover a lot about her. She’s kind of private and I’m really impressed with her as a mother, especially.”

Interrupting, Tiffany asked if Salma would “let her know that I’d like to cook a meal for her?” Hayek reassured Haddish that Angelina Jolie would “love” her.

“I met her before, and I said, ‘We should hang out,’” Tiffany said, repeating, “I would love to cook for her….I’m far from being a lesbian, but if I had to be, that’s probably the route I would go… We should all hang out. I also wanna just cook for her ’cause I feel like she hungry.”

Damn, now I want to see THAT movie. Tiffany Cooks For Angelina. Tiffany, Salma and Angelina Hang Out. I know Angelina probably doesn’t get offered any comedy scripts at this point, but I would love to see her do something lighter, and working with Tiffany would be a great call. Come on, you’d love that! Plus, Tiffany really would be like “come here Angie, smoke this joint and I’m gonna cook for us.”

This whole video is a gossip goldmine, but if you just want to see the part where they talk about Angelina, it starts around the 2:20 mark. Before that question, they talk about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leaving and Salma and Tiffany are super-supportive of Meg.

The title of this article made me laugh aloud. Angelina looks hungry indeed. I am gonna watch that movie just because of Tiffany Haddish. She is so funny and relatable in all her interviews.

  2. Thanks says:

I know she is joking but isn’t that body shaming? I mean can you say a larger person looks like they eat too much?

    • Peg says:

It was body shaming, since when can’t Angie afford her own food.

    • Rose says:

Yes it is, but it seems to be acceptable to body shame and fit shame women as long as they are skinny. “Real women have curves” and so forth.

      • malikaeyes says:

Yup, and it’s super gross, any policing of who gets to count as a “real” anything is incredibly disgusting.

    • Sierra says:

Thank you, people are totally fine with thin shaming people but watch out if you fat shame someone.

    • Tracym says:

She said “she look hungry”. She didn’t say anything about her body. Maybe she means hungry for some nurturing.

    • Miumiiiu says:

      “Thanks”,
I agree that it’s body shaming. And AJ has got a lot of it over they years. I don’t love this from Tiffany but I think she meant well.
OTOH It is nice that she’s saying she (as someone pretty popular and actually connected to Beyonce, Salma, Jada) wants to hang out with AJ as it seems like AJ is not warmly welcomed by a lot of Hollywood movie actresses, including GP’s friends.

  3. Mignionette says:

I don’t know how I feel about this. For me it’s never ok to comment on other peoples weight either way.

I always got stick in my family as a teenager for being tiny. At 5’7′ I was just over 110 Ibs and it showed…

    • malikaeyes says:

It really shouldn’t be okay, no matter who it is. It’s always concern trolling, whatever the size of the person. It’s just “accepted” to do it loudly and publicly when people are thin.

      • Miumiiiu says:

In Chinese culture (not sure which other cultures) it’s also accepted commentary when fat, or when someone is still average but has gained or lost weight. I think it’s only recently (like maybe 50-100 years ago?) that it’s become impolite in American culture to say “you’ve gained weight”
I think people do mean well sometimes with these comments sometimes but it’s becoming common knowledge that it’s hurtful to give weight loss/gain comments. Hurtful and also insulting like do you really think I don’t know how to read and find that stuff out myself?

      • malikaeyes says:

Honestly, I think people hide behind “oh, so-and-so just means well”. Usually, they don’t, or else they wouldn’t be publicly commenting on a personal matter.

I grew up around a lot of Filipino people and definitely, the grandmothers would comment on anyone’s changes in weight, and there was no point in being upset, they were never going to change. But not only do people have a greater understanding now, NO ONE likes having their appearance commented on publicly in a negative way. Like, a six year old could explain it.

  4. lucia says:

    That’s not funny.0

  5. Tiffany says:

I’ve been saying AJ should do a comedy for forever now. I would love for her to play to straight man to a comedian. I think her deadpan reactions will be gold.

    • Sierra says:

I would love for her to do a movie with Melissa or Dwayne Johnson.

      • Tiffany says:

I think AJ and Jack Black will be great together in a live action comedy. We know the promotion would be great because they just adore one another.

    • Sarah says:

But first, she should give us SALT 2!!!!

    • Miumiiiu says:

Tiffany I like your idea but how about someone who matches how beautiful she is (not jack black)

      • Sierra says:

        Keanu Reeves

      • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Jack Black. If there’s a celebrity who yanks my gag reflex simply by appearing on the screen, it’s him. The screaming, in your face, over-the-top, look-at-me-right-f@cking-now sends me bolting for exits lol.

  6. Lilly (with the double-L) says:

I’d watch that movie too. I think Angelina could be funny.

  7. Sierra says:

Haha love the fact that Salma is totally fangirling over Angelina.

She was the same during Comic-Con last year before they even started shooting.

    I cannot wait for Eternals.

    • lucy2 says:

I’m not a fan of Jolie’s acting, but everyone who works with her seems to really enjoy it and comment on it, so she must be easy and pleasant to work with.

Agree with the others who think the hungry comment is not great.

      • Sierra says:

I became a fan of Angelina’s acting after Changeling.

She was brilliant in that one. And also the scene in Maleficent when she wakes up and sees her wings are gone, it was heartbreaking.

But agree, people who have worked with Angelina only has nice things to say about her. She is also known to work with the same people over and over again.

  8. Nicegirl says:

I’d watch that movie 🎥 with my bong bestie. You should script that shit up!! 🔥🔥🤦‍♀️🖖🏽🖖🏽

  9. Pati says:

I’m sure Tiffany means well but this comes across as unnecessary and potentially triggering for people who have issues with weight gain. I have a lovely friend who’s constantly trying to get some healthy body mass, she eats a lot and still can’t reach a figure in which she can feel her best self. Angelina is a deeply private person and if she has ever battled body dysphormia, this comment could hit the wrong note for her.

    • Miumiiiu says:

Yeah it’s bothers me extra knowing that she had the mastectomy and then chose big boobs. Like maybe she already has tried to gain some curves? When people can’t gain weight they can’t. My bf is 34 he can still eat so much, then eat a bunch of candy and other junk late at night during netflix and never approach a belly or extra fat anywhere. Rarer that women have this talent/problem but it exists for sure, for any gender and age. I have a female friend who’s a bit like that, I can’t say for sure because I’m not with her constantly like my bf, but whenever she wants a new diet change for solving a different health issue she has to worry she’ll lose weight (and need new clothes, seriously) she has a boob job as well.

    • Sierra says:

I struggled to gain weight as well for years and finally found the one thing that helped.

Date fruits has helped me immensely.

  10. Pati says:

    *means well

  11. Heather says:

Would we find it funny if someone was talking about Lizzo (for a famous-person example) and said that they’d like to invite her over to their house to work out in their gym/swim in their pool, saying that she doesn’t look like she’s hungry?
Nope. Body shaming is body shaming.

    • Omg says:

Of course not. Everyone was mad at some lady that said Lizzo could get diabetes at her weight 🤷🏽‍♀️

  12. Sorella says:

I like Tiffany, but she is trying for click-bait and often saying anything and everything that comes into her head lately in interviews. She is one of those people where you can laugh your a** off at what she says OR cringe on her behalf and want her to take it down a notch.

  13. T says:

As a general rule, I don’t think it’s okay to comment on what someone chooses to eat (or not eat) or what their body looks like.

  14. Dee Kay says:

I would buy tickets today for a Paul Feig-directed comedy starring Angelina Jolie, Tiffany Haddish, and Melissa McCarthy. Heck, throw Issa Rae in there as the fourth of the BFF girl gang. Movie goddesses, please make this happen!!!!

  15. ME says:

I like Tiffany but sometimes she really puts her foot in her mouth. Firstly, telling someone they “need to eat” is just as bad as telling someone they “need to go on a diet”. You don’t know their health situation or what problems they may be facing so please stop with that. Also, to say you’re “far from a Lesbian” just seems odd to say. Also, when would she “have to be a lesbian”? LOL I’d like to know the scenario for that.

  16. Jordana says:

All the comments here….like whether it’s ok to comment and tell someone if theyve gained weight or lost weight. How about this….why do people think they need to say anything?
Fact: if a woman has gained weight, she sure AF knows it. And she doesn’t need anyone telling her.
Same goes with losing weight. Thanks to a “divorce diet” I unintentionally lost 20 lbs off my already smaller than average sized body. Friends would give me a look-over and tell me I looked gaunt. What am I supposed to say? “Yeah my pants are all falling down, so I’ve noticed i lost weight…but thanks for telling me so i never forget how awful I look.”

If you really care, ask someone how they are feeling, and if they need anything you could with. I get that tiffany’s comments were light hearted, and jokey, but maybe it was unneccessary.

  17. Krissy says:

These comments are ridiculous…. It was a joke.. This body shaming stuff is getting out of hand. She didn’t say anything malicious , people writing dissertations about a mild joke need to get a sense of humor and maybe a life…

    • Tiffany :) says:

You should get some compassion and understanding. Commenting on other people’s weight is not ok. I’ve known many women in my life who have struggled with eating disorders, and these kinds of comments do so much damage. It really is a life and death struggle for some women. While it might not be meant with malicious intent, it can cause damage all the same.

  18. manta says:

Not sure about the joint smoking part .
I thought, reading some of the comment about the demise of the golden couple, that pot smoking from Pitt played a big role in it, and that she had no time for silly adults spending their free time enjoying the good stuff.

    • Omg says:

No, he was abusive after drinking Alcohol way too much. I guess abusing and traumatizing ones kids could be considered just silly adult fun to his fans smdh

  19. Sidewithkids says:

Tiffany Haddish isn’t really funny tho. She had one role where she was great but that’s it. She’s kinda cringeworthy, really. I would love to see Angie do a comedy but not w/ Tiffany, please no. I see someone said Jack Black and yes on that. I think that would be cute.

    • fatladysinging says:

There’s a lot of reason to side-eye Tiffany. I used to be very neutral on her, but as of very lately I’m veering towards, “nah. pass.”

For starters, her vibe-shtick is kinda based in problematic old-school “minstrel” stuff, that’s why she’s always fawning all over err’body.

I’ll be dangerously blunt and just say it: She’s the kind of black comic that people who don’t grasp the nuance and history of racism love. And to be clear: I, a black woman, would have fell into that category through my twenties and even early thirties.

  20. Sidewithkids says:

Also, Tiffany shouldn’t have made the joke but I don’t think she was necessarily trying to hurt Angie or anything. For years now, Angie is joked about b/c she is thin. People forget about the surgeries and the reason why she’s thin. Plus, no one ask why, better to do some lame joke, I guess. But anyway, I love what Salma said about Angie and I think it’s true. Everyone seems to love Angie when they meet her. One thing about Angie that must really come across is that she’s super smart. I think everyone says that. It seems it’s only people who haven’t met her that say the most ridiculous stuff that’s clearly untrue. It’s like the HW media wants to paint her as a “bad guy” and she’s clearly not that but they want to prompt other people up b/c they prob are the “bad guys”.

  21. persephone22 says:

I don’t find Tiffany funny. Period.

  22. Naddie says:

It doesn’t sound offensive when you read the whole thing, but I understand if someone gets upset.

  23. Silvie says:

Angelina was much healthier-looking early in her career. Look at her in Tomb Raider. I believe stories about how she moderately starves herself in sympathy with impoverished people globally. I knew her in college, and she was very strong/solid, muscular. It’s never OK to body shame, but in this case, I think Angelina is setting an unhealthy example for her female fans.
