The Sussexes probably didn’t register a new charity name through Jessica Mulroney

Duke and Duchess os Sussex arrive in New Zealand!

Can I vent for a moment? I noticed throughout the weekend that the anti-Sussex people had a new talking point, which was “why don’t Harry and Meghan give up everything involved with the royal family since they clearly hate it/are so rude?” Just for clarity’s sake: they wanted to work as full-time royals, but they were harassed, smeared and bullied. Prince William was trying to have them exiled because they got too much attention. Nothing they did was ever good enough or right or in accordance with the entirely fictitious protocol.

So they went to the other senior royals and said “can we work something out where we can still work as royals but take a breather away from all this toxicity?” And those discussions were leaked with (you guessed it) an anti-Sussex slant, and the smears continued about their “disrespect” for the Queen. So they continued to work out a deal which would have them exiled on their terms. But it still wasn’t good enough, and once again, imaginary “rules” were invoked to further punish Meghan and Harry for existing, stripping them of their “royal” branding. When they showed how peeved they continue to be at all of this (completely unnecessary) drama and punishment, they were once again told that they should JUST QUIT everything. Again, this is all so f–king unnecessary, but here we are.

At this point, I have zero doubt that Liz of House Petty and Will of House Keen will move to remove Harry’s ducal title. Harry and Meghan should not count on “Sussex” being their name long-term, is what I’m saying. Time and time again, the royals and the courtiers have shown their petty asses. Which brings me to this: if my concerns end up to be true and they can’t count on “Sussex,” what should their branding be? Right now, people are still counting on “Sussex” as part of the name. Over the weekend, various outlets reported this:

Meghan Markle’s best friend is helping set up the next iteration of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charitable foundation. Bestie Jessica Mulroney — a fashion stylist whose kids were pageboys and a flower girl at Markle’s and Prince Harry’s wedding two years ago — registered the website sussexglobalcharities.com last Wednesday, the Daily Mail reported. The website name gives a hint of how Meghan and Harry will get around the Queen’s’ decree that the couple cease calling themselves “royal.” The pair’s previous brand name was “Sussex Royal.”

[From Page Six]

Jessica disputed that on Twitter, writing: “If certain investigative journalists were to do their jobs, perhaps they would see that Shoebox Project Foundation is owned by a Mr Roy in North Carolina and has no affiliations or ties to our charity The Shoebox Project. Happy Sunday.” The claim was that Jessica registered the Sussex Global Charities through her (Jessica’s) charity, the Shoebox Project Foundation.

So, clearly, the name is not Sussex Global Charities, although maybe all of this is a feint. My hope is that Harry and Meghan don’t use the Sussex branding at all at this point – they’ve clearly seen how f–king petty and punitive these vipers are. So my brand/charity name suggestions: Harry & Meghan Global; H&M Charitable Giving; The Ex-Royal Charity (just for laughs). I enjoyed the suggestions of something involving their mothers’ maiden names (Spencer and Ragland) but I doubt they would do that. The Earl Spencer would probably have a fit if Harry named something “Spencer.”

How about the Global Care Initiative?

    • Charlie says:

      How about Mountbatten-Windsor?

      • Lizzie says:

This is my pick too. Prince Harry and Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor. Also I love this will really bug the other Windsors.

I said in another post that I really believe the queen is very much underestimating the public’s feelings for Harry and they will turn against her. Just like after Diana’s death. Her initial reaction to say and do nothing to acknowledge Diana was a huge mistake. If it comes out how the palace has worked against PH the public will turn.

    • (TheOG) jan90067 says:

I could’ve sworn they had something named “The Archie Foundation”, or was that just my imagination?

    • Janet says:

How about the “Mmm Hmm *Fingersnap* Foundation” ?

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

I was thinking Forget-Me-Not… ties in mentally with Sentebale as translation, and it would be a sick burn to Will Not and Can Not on a completely different level, to say nothing of Chaz, who needs to feel shame for his part in driving his youngest son away.

  2. Digital Unicorn says:

I am quite disturbed at the bullying of Jessica by the British tabloids. I hope she finds herself a good UK based lawyer. They are determined to paint her as some sort of svengali who is pulling the Sussex’s strings for her own agenda. She’s not Carole Middleton!!!

    • JulieCarr says:

Meh, the Mulroney’s are a terrible family, on par with the Kushners. They deserve everything they get.

      • Olenna says:

But, what has Jessica done that is so terrible, @Julie Carr? I haven’t heard any bad or immoral rumors about her, so your comment sounds a bit like 6-degrees of hateration, IMO.

  3. Janet says:

I’m appreciating the irony of that being registered by a Mr. Roy. Maybe his first name is Al? Lol

Roy is the anglicized version of Roi, which means King. Funny coincidence.

  4. Rose says:

I just want Meghan to reopen her Instagram.

    • Babz says:

This, @Rose! I didn’t watch Suits or follow Meghan when she had the Tig. I would love to see that reactivated, because what little info I have seen about it sounds like it was really something!

  5. Mumbles says:

I’m sure they have all sorts of lawyers and other advisers who would love to work for them (and probably have at least a lawyer retained), why would they use thirsty Jessica to register a charity?

“Meghan and Harry” could suffice as a name. Everyone knows who that is.

    • Ali says:

Why refer to Jessica as ‘thirsty’?

Shes done nothing to earn that title.

      • Mumbles says:

For one, she parlayed a friendship into a lame recurring role on Good Morning America.

      • Janet says:

@mumbles: Given that her father-in-law is a former Prime Minister (the Canadian equivalent of a President), I doubt very much that she needed a friendship with MM in order to get a job.

      • Mumbles says:

Janet, funny enough, she didn’t get the gig until Meghan was married. She’s been married to Mulroney for years. And if you know any Canadians it might be interesting to ask them what they think of the Mulroney family.

      • Sofia says:

@Mumbles: So what is she supposed to do? Is she responsible for her in-laws? And Ben has spoken against his family for quite some time.

And Kate is friends with someone who throws sex parties. Do you hold it against Kate? No? Didn’t think so

      • Janet says:

@Mumbles: *looks at Canadian self and says “Brian Mulroney was a disgrace to my country” *

It’s not as if he lacks contacts though.

      • Maria says:

Some commenters seem to think Jessica is “trashy” for reasons that range from being Meghan’s friend to having had a nose job 🙄 to somehow her being responsible for her father-in-law (not sure why) to pretty much anything else.
Jessica was styling Justin Trudeau’s wife in 2015. She did not parlay her friendship with Meghan into a career.

      • Mouki's wife says:

Jessica Mulroney comes from a very influential family herself. Her family are the Brownstein family who own Brown’s, a high end designer shoe store. Based out of Montreal originally, which is how she has connections. Also her mother is/was a very beautiful socialite who married into the family and has been affiliated with fashion in Montreal for decades. The more you know!

      • Becks1 says:

I enjoy Jessica. She seems ambitious (in a good way) and hardworking. Yes she has connections and uses them, but there’s nothing wrong with that. And she really does seem to work her tail off to keep building her brand. I like how she claps back at haters on Twitter and IG. She clearly adores her kids and they adore her. Ivy is one of the best parts of my IG feed, lol.

Maybe that’s thirsty to some, but I don’t see anything wrong with a bit of hustle. I feel the same way about amal Clooney. Do we think rich and powerful men got to where they are without some hustle and “thirst”?

    • Erinn says:

It seems like a domain name was registered – which…. anyone can do. I could have registered sussexglobalcharities.com if I had wanted to. The interesting part to me is that the registrant organization is listed as “Shoebox Project Foundation”. There’s nothing about a Mr. Roy or anything like that attached to the domain account – they have domain privacy. So either they didn’t always have domain privacy setup, or Jessica has dropped a name that was purposely hidden (which seems like a fair thing to do to show that it’s a separate foundation). It’s just kind of weird. But the weirdest part is that someone with such a similar foundation name (Shoebox Project Foundation vs Shoebox Project) would register it. I assume it’s a stab in the dark at a potential foundation name, and they’re trying to get the Sussex’s to pay them for the domain later.

      • Mich says:

There are “Shoebox” projects all over the world. South Africa has one where shoeboxes are filled with Christmas gifts for underprivileged kids. In America, there are shoebox programs for shelters. The actual Shoebox Project in America seems to have an affiliate program – meaning that someone in North Carolina could be opening a local entity. This would (a) be great for North Carolina and (b) have absolutely ZERO to do the Jessica or Meghan.

We are talking about charity here, lifting up the vulnerable. It disgusts me that the media is going after this as some kind of ‘gotcha’.

      • pottymouth pup says:

also, people will register domain names that they think may be in high demand just so they can charge an exorbitant price to transfer the domain to a new owner

      • Erinn says:

Mich- I understand that there are other shoebox charities all over the world. What I find weird about it is that Jessica is a co-founder of one shoebox movement. Some other, completely unrelated person/foundation decided to use their own Shoebox Project Foundation to register a domain name that is clearly tied to the Duke and Duchess. It IS odd. It’s not weird that more than one Shoebox charity exists – it’s weird that someone completely unrelated to the Sussex’s (who happen to have a friend working with a shoebox charity) took it upon themselves to register a domain name under their charity foundations name, and that domain is clearly an attempt to tie into the Sussex’s. That IS weird.

And I understand the reselling aspect – that’s why I mentioned that it was likely a stab at what they thought the Sussex’s might want to use for a name, and an attempt to secure the domain so that if they do intend to go that route, they would have to purchase the domain from the holder. I work in the tech industry doing design and development, I do understand that this is something people do. It’s just weird that it would be someone tied to a completely separate charity with a very similar name.

    • Scollins says:

Calling Jessica thirsty is a stretch. She had her own name/brand before H&M were together..

      • Sarah says:

I actually read somewhere than she was approached for a Toronto version of the Real Housewives, a few years ago, long before Harry and Meghan got together, so the producers must have thought she had a strong enough brand.

      • sunny says:

100% this. Her brand wasn’t international, much more Canadian and focused on the GTA and MTL. She has been insanely well-connected for years though and although I don’t like her in-laws, I find her hard-working and sincere(if cheesy)

  6. Ellie says:

That photo of Meghan in the purple dress made me nostalgic. I am happy they are happier and continuing their charity work, but I miss the glamour. Oh well. MET gala in a few months…

I also hope they leave Sussex out of the charity title. It has a colonizer vibe and they don’t need it.

    • Bella DuPont says:

In the purple dress photo, I couldn’t help noticing how completely devoid of an ass Harry is! 😩😩

  7. Sofia says:

I just feel sorry for Jess because it’s quite clear the press loves to bully her and mock her just cause she’s friends with Meghan

Is it any wonder why the godparents names weren’t officially released?

    • Babz says:

Exactly, and I think that was exceedingly thoughtful of Harry and Meghan to protect their privacy so strongly. Can you imagine what their lives would be like right now???

  8. hunter says:

“The claim was that Jessica registered the Sussex Global Charities through her (Jessica’s) charity, the Shoebox Project Foundation.”

Factually incorrect. The claim was Jessica registered the Sussex Global Charities through her The Shoebox Project (no “Foundation” listed on the registration). Facts matter.

“The Shoebox Project Foundation” out of NC is an inactive entity and was not listed on the registration.

  9. JustSaying says:

“The Earl Spencer would probably have a fit if Harry named something “Spencer.””

I don’t know about this. If Harry changed his branding to Spencer, his uncle would have an excuse to take some gleeful swipes at the failings of the royal family, remind everyone that Diana used to call Harry her “little Spencer,” and then (probably) use it as an opportunity to promote something of his own. I actually think he’d quite like to be more firmly aligned with Harry.

  10. Eyfalia says:

Thank you Kaiser for saying it loud and clear! I fully agree with you and I also hope they do not use the name Sussex.
Spencer-Ragland would be great and would freak out the master of house keen.
In the memory of Diana and in honouring Doria! Two wonderful strong women.

    • Yes Eyfalia. I have visited this site for years because I love Kaiser’s take on things. Truly appreciate how much time, effort, and devotion she puts into making it so good. Also, love the Celebitchy community of posters. Kaiser sets the tone though and we are all the better for it.

  11. Snap Happy says:

Did William try to exile them? Looking back it seems like the sussexit plan was leaked early. Maybe William didn’t know the details and assumed Africa?

    • Emmitt says:

William was allegedly trying to exile them to Africa, he felt if they went to the US or Canada their popularity wouldn’t be contained but if they were exiled to Africa the hype about them would die down, because I guess Africa doesn’t have the internet? LOL

  12. Lala11_7 says:

I slammed ALL 3 seasons of “The Crown” this weekend….

#1: I thank G-D that I’ve ALWAYS been a student of geopolitical history on my own…and I have extensively studied British royalty along with WWII…or I would have thought that Prince Edward was just a misunderstood man giving it ALL up for love…instead of an English subject that colluded with an enemy country to spread fascism world-wide

#2: It solidified for me what I have thought for a minute…that Harry was looking to get out WAY before he met Meghan…and that he used the infrastructure that The Firm had setup for Princess Margaret who declined the offer to get the hell out of dodge…if you read the 1954 document…you’ll see….

#3: It is amazing how IGNORANT the royal family choose to be regarding education and the world we live in and life in general…

    #4: The royal family…SUCKS…TOTALLY!!!!

Five years from now…I truly believe that none of this will matter…because Harry would have gotten what he wanted MOST in life…obviously…and would have done what his Mama…could NEVA do…

    He got out….

    • Andrew’s Nemesis says:

Have you read the Jane Thynne series? It’s set in prewar/wartime Europe and is very compelling; she’s an historian and describes social lives minutely and exquisitely. She mentions the whole Edward/Wallis saga, adding details I’ve never come across before – well worth a read

  13. Sarah says:

I’m seriously disturbed by the way the media have been treated Jessica Mulroney since the wedding. She’s not a member of the RF, her lifestyle is not supported by the public, she doesn’t owe us anything. Not that I find the treatment of Meghan fair, but it seems even more unnecessary to drag her friend into this.

    • GuestOne says:

Can understand reluctance to name the godparents. Anyone connected to Meghan is trolled- even charities

      • TheOtherSarah says:

I am absolutely sure one of the main reasons the godparents were not named is to avoid the media scrutiny on private citizens. Even people connected to H and M’s CHARITIES are not safe. Remember how either the Sun or The Fail tried to link the women from the Grenfell community kitchen to terrorism??!

    • Brit says:

It’s intentional so they can scare potential charities and collaborations away. It’s about sabotage. Thankfully, it’s not working because the BM aren’t that powerful in terms of global influence as much as they would like to believe. They’ll always be an annoyance but those days of the Rota and tabloids being the sole source of anything Sussex is over. This is all about control.

      • Shirleygailgal says:

I’m not convinced they will ever be free of sabotage, not matter where they land. Robert Murdoch owns Fox news….a very far-right, also willing to publish lies as truth in the U.S.

      • MsIam says:

@shirleygailgal, Fox News sings to it’s own choir. Not a lot reach outside of that specific subset. Plus they are focused on politics, not gossip. Unless H&M decide to run for office as democrats, I don’t see Fox getting much mileage out of this. Especially this year being a presidential election year and that sucking up all of the attention. The other thing is, as awful as Fox News and it’s minions are, if one of the hosts says something really crazy and people threaten to boycott the advertisers, look at how quickly those chains are yanked. All of sudden people will disappear from the air for a few weeks or disappear off the air completely.

  14. rawiya says:

It would take an Act of Parliament for Harry and Meghan to lose Sussex. It’s one thing for the Queen to ask them to stop using HRH but it’s quite another for her to try to take it away.

And I really can’t see that going over well in Parliament when there are a) way more pressing issues for the UK to deal with, and b) Andrew still has his. Okay, maybe point B is all me.

    • Jaded says:

Exactly. It would take something tantamount to treason or espionage for his Dukedom to be taken away by an act of parliament. The Queen doesn’t just snap her fingers and shout “off with their heads!”

  15. Brit says:

The media are literally trying to attach Jessica to any and everything she does to Meghan. It’s intentional and disgusting to do all because since they can’t get to Meghan, they’ll attack and harass her friends. They tried it with it Doria as well. The obsession is real.

    • Well according to the RR press book, Brit, there is not one person of any good whatsoever that Meghan interfaces with. Everyone that Meghan knows, interacts with, or befriends is made to be an unworthy human being. I mean it is no ROSE GARDEN if you’re a friend of Meghan’s. Why would anyone want to have their name released and go through the RR gauntlet.

  16. Daenerys says:

Long time lurker. I think it should be called Our Community Foundation.

  17. Golly Gee says:

    new name, simply: H&M
Great for creating a recognizable logo and if they reworked the logo they have now using these letters, it would look regal and classy and still affiliate them in peoples’ minds with royalty. Not that that’s important in its self, except that it helps create a reminder in peoples minds of all the good work they’ve already done and is a record of how committed and hard-working they are. And let’s face it, the fact that Harry is Royal would be a draw for a lot of people with money to donate.

  18. JC says:

Well, I think Sentebale and Invictus are beautiful, powerful and brilliant names for non profits and obviously Harry had something to do with those.

So I’m sure they’ll come up with something good.
