Elisabeth Moss wore Tom Ford to the ‘Invisible Man’ premiere: cute or meh?

Los Angeles Premiere Of Universal Pictures' 'The Invisible Man'

Elisabeth Moss mostly works in television. Her biggest and most important roles were always TV roles (The West Wing, Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale), but she’s gotten some film work here and there too. Last year, she had a supporting role in Us (she was good in it) and this year, she has the lead role in an adaptation of Invisible Man. This version is supposed to be more about the Invisible Man’s victim, because Moss plays a woman who is being stalked and almost murdered by the invisible dude. It’s being called a surprisingly good take on the material and the reviews are good-to-okay-ish.

Moss turned out to the premiere wearing this really good Tom Ford dress. I don’t know if this was off-the-rack or made for her, but I appreciate that Moss did a sleek body-con dress here, because she usually avoids that look. Moss’s appeal, to me, is that she’s able to play that “everywoman” character, and she looks that way too – she’s pretty but a girl next door, accessible. She made a choice to go really glam at the premiere and it really worked.

Like the dress, but there’s a bit too much $cientology between her ears.

  2. Caitlin says:

She seems way to level headed to be a Scientologist. It’s so strange.

  3. Eliza_ says:

Pretty dress. Would have been a bigger impact as a gown but it’s still nice.

  4. Kristi says:

Way too long making it matronly.

    • Sumodo1 says:

Agreed! It stops at the least flattering length for us short women. And she should have worn hosiery. Winter-pale legs need to be covered.

  5. DiegoInSF says:

Wow her makeup is stunning. I admire her because she doesn’t shy away from looking non photogenic in The Handmaid’s Tale, I don’t know if I could do that.

  6. Sarah says:

I can’t with her and the scientology. I don’t watch her in anything.

  7. Marigold says:

Why do they always make this woman, who is more than a decade younger than me, I think, look so matronly? Does no one know how to style her?

  8. Lizzie says:

The length is awkward, not a flattering length on anyone.

  9. lucy2 says:

Pretty dress, and her hair and makeup look good. She’s a great actress, but I can’t with her cult affiliation.

Also, as soon as the trailer for this movie came out, everyone was like duh, get some spray paint, or flour, or sand, or SOMETHING.

  10. Renee says:

Moss is a committed Scientologist so anything she does or says should not be supported.

I know, but Mad Men is a REALLY good show.
Hollywood is a cess pool of evil and depravity. If I were to only watch movies and television made by the pure and good, I would have nothing to watch but Mr. Rogers. Same goes for music and literature. I’ll save my boycotting for the SUPER evil like Woody Allen and Polanski. Elizabeth Moss is obviously brainwashed and is a victim herself in a way.

She looks like a million bucks in that dress, but why can’t shoe designers solve the whole toe-cleavage issue?
