Tiger King is adding another episode soon, according to Jeff Lowe, will you watch it?

It feels like all we’re talking about lately is life at home, the royals and Tiger King. Countless people have seen this unbelievably trashy and shocking show, which is still number one on Netflix! There are so many twists and so many despicable people in it. One of them is Jeff Lowe, the a-hole who comes to “save” Joe Exotic’s roadside zoo. Like most of the other characters, he could have his own side documentary, especially considering how shady he is. I feel like the series dropped the ball on Lowe’s financial scams and his motivation for taking over the zoo, which he still runs with Lauren. He did not seem to care about animals at all, he roughhoused with them, seemed to neglect their care and used cubs to pull in women for partying with him and his younger wife.

Jeff and Lauren have been on the Cameo app, where you can pay celebrities to record videos as a present for friends. It costs $150 for a brief video from them! They’ve recorded several videos saying that another episode is coming to Netflix. In one video, Jeff says that Netflix is adding another episode “next week,” however in an earlier video he said it would be out in a “few weeks.” I’m including the videos below [via Bazaar] and here’s what they said about the show:

Jeff: Netflix is going to add another episode here in a few weeks wrapping things up. [posted April 3rd on Twitter]
Jeff: Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. [posted April 4th on Twitter]
Jeff: Netflix just called they’re going to add one more episode next week. They’re going to film it here Sunday [April 5th]. We’re going to tell you what happened.
Lauren: I don’t think we’re supposed to tell ’em. [posted April 4th on Twitter]

I watched the six videos from these two that are currently up on Cameo, which are all different from the ones posted below. You guys owe me! They talk about a season two and say they were asked about it, but don’t give a timeframe. At the end of several videos they say that Carole Baskin killed her husband. Oh and if you care about Jeff and Lauren at all, they still have the hot nanny but she only works part time.

As for whether Jeff is just talking out of his a- or if there’s another episode coming soon, I couldn’t verify that. Neither of the co-creators of this show, Rebecca Chaiklin and Eric Goode, are on Twitter and only Rebecca is on Instagram. She hasn’t confirmed or denied this, and neither has Netflix.

If you’re looking for another non-murdery true crime documentary series to binge at this time, I highly recommend McMillions on HBO. We’re about halfway through and it’s a ride.

Here are the videos from Jeff and Lauren. I dislike these people so much.

Probably. Going to be in quarantine for a while. Can someone answer for me why Jeff Lowe was interested in Joe Exotic’s failing zoo in the first place? I could never figure it out.

    • Noodle says:

@erin, I think he saw it as a cash cow that could be milked. I donā€™t think he intended to keep it going in Oklahoma, but was going to move it to LV where the income potential was greater. I Imagine all the high rollers would love to pet cubs, and pay richly for that opportunity.

    • Chaine says:

There is an interview with a wildlife conservationist on Daily Beast that speculates that guys like Jeff and Doc Antle are part of a black market harvesting tiger parts, I guess for sale overseas.

      • chicken tetrazzini! says:

ugh, you just made my stomach curdle at the thought, because you’re probably right. Pay to pet as babies, then killed for their parts when they become dangerous

      • MarcelMarcel says:

Iā€™m going to find the interview! My boyfriend & I thought there was much more shadier activities happening that what Joe was jailed for. (Not trying to minimise his misogyny because it was. intense.)

I found the doco series engaging but confusing. Like there were so many dangling threads ie. Whatā€™s up with Doc? Jeff Lowe enabled Joeā€™s criminal behaviour presumably because heā€™s a con man and heā€™s still at large? Why was the hitman wearing shorts while taking a bath mid interview? So. Many. Questions.

Anyhow I felt bad for animals and for the workers at the sanctuaries who all seemed exploited to various extents.
I still canā€™t get over the newborn cub screaming for his mama. The animal cruelty was mind boogling.

  2. Juliette says:

Will not watch. They are all terrible people and have no interest in giving them any attention. I feel bad for the animals but the rest of these people can rot.

    • Noodle says:

Of all the people on the show, these two (and the hot nanny) are the two I would least like to continue seeing on my television. He is so skeevy.

    • K says:

Yep, they are all creeps, even the ones too undereducated or poor to have that many options. Because they still chose to be involved with all of this animal exploitation and playing with guns and meth. It makes you laugh at times in disbelief at their bad taste, but it’s actually quite horrifying.

  3. Jess says:

Yuck. I watched the first two episodes and was so grossed out by the end of the second one I stopped. Iā€™m generally not a true crime person anyway but seeing the issues with the animals plus the cults plus the generally awful people was just too much for me.

  4. Erinn says:

I tapped out a little while into episode 4. I can’t deal with seeing animals suffering.

    They’re ALL horrible people.

  5. Swack says:

Haven’t watched it and don’t plan on watching it.

  6. EMc says:

I’ve read and seen enough commentary that I have no desire to watch any of it. A lot from you CB’ers! This is a fad I wont embrace, and I’ll be glad to stop seeing these peoples faces.

  7. Jerusha says:

No. Iā€™ve never watched a ā€œrealityā€ show and never will.

  8. lucy2 says:

I am so sick of seeing TIGER KING! TIGER KING! every other minute. I realize everyone is home and bored or whatever, but OMG. Enough!

  9. Allergy says:

I tried watching. When it got to the SPOILER SPOILER

“snakes and drugs” I left the room and cried, and then I wanted to smash all these horrible rednecks. God how I just hate them all.

  10. Lightpurple says:

    Have not watched.
    Will not watch.
    Tigers are my favorite animals.
    Worried about these tigers.
Worried about the ones in the Bronx Zoo who have the virus.

    • Amelie says:

Look it’s awful a few tigers at the Bronx Zoo have it, I love the Bronx Zoo and grew up visiting it. But given the difficulties of getting tested for COVID-19, I have to wonder why a perfectly good test was wasted on a tiger. I know they only tested one (a bunch of other big cats in the zoo were exhibiting symptoms) and it is important to know the asymptomatic zookeeper infected the tigers. But did they REALLY have to waste a test on a tiger? I am not going to cry over some tigers dying of COVID 19 at the Bronx Zoo right now when so many people are deathly ill and dying around the world, it’s the least of my worries. If it were to decimate the wild population of tigers I’d be way more worried.

      • booboocita says:

The coronavirus test administered to the Bronx Zoo tigers is NOT the test administered to humans. Different species, different tests. Furthermore, the tests are then evaluated by veterinarian labs, which can’t evaluate human tests. And no, human labs don’t evaluate animal tests. So there’s no competition for resources.

Her name is Masha Diduk. Sheā€™s a Vegas ā€œmodelā€

  12. Michael says:

I slogged thru the series but wasn’t impressed and didn’t get what the big deal was. Might watch because I already have so much time invested but don’t really care

  13. ariel says:

In all the trashy soap opera drama, I feel like Netflix and the whole USA glazed over on the issue of animal abuse.
I have not watched the show- b/c frankly, kill as many people as you want, but I cannot watch the mistreatment of animals.
And I feel like that reality has been lost in people’s trash tv glee.

  14. Nina Simone says:

Jeff deserves to be in jail. Heā€™s a true blue scammer and snake. Heā€™s also so gross towards his wife. Honestly no one has any redeemable qualities on that show. I would say Dial but heā€™s just as delusional, did he really expect Joe Exotic to be his ticket to the white house or political glory !!?

  15. adastraperaspera says:

Nope. Private wild animal “parks” should be outlawed. Bad for the animals and bad for the visitors and employees who are mauled. Here is the Humane Society information on captive big cats–the facts are shocking:

    https://www.humanesociety.org/sites/default/files/docs/captive-big-cat-incidents.pdf

  16. Texas says:

I will watch because during these times Iā€™m all in for good music and bad tv.

  17. LunaSF says:

Ugh I kind of hate myself for watching it. Jeff is a gross con man and his wife is an idiot for being with him (in the series they say she broke up his previous marriage so hope she is happy her prize!). Mainly I feel bad for their baby being born to these two.

    • booboocita says:

Honestly, I’m utterly flummoxed by the women who hook up with Jeff and what’s-his-face, the fool in South Carolina. Doc Antle. Was there really no one better to be had? Do these women really think that they can’t do any better? Are they really willing to share those bozos with other equally bamboozled women? Wake up!

  18. Sof says:

It was pretty obvious by the editing that the main narrative of the show was too loose and they had to add other things for the episodes to make sense.
What I didn’t understand was where did the footage of Joe come from if everything burned down? They showed snippets of his reality show!

    • AMA1977 says:

I think that was footage from the internet show that was being filmed concurrently with the planned reality show. The director (smoker in all black filmed at a cafe with the black safari hat, I can’t be bothered to look up a name) said that he agreed to shoot Joe’s online show for in in exchange for exclusive access and rights to all footage for a reality show that he was pitching to networks. The online shows were posted to the “zoo” website so footage could be lifted from there, I imagine.

We watched the whole thing, and it was such a trashfest. Horrifically sad for all of the animals and most of the people involved. I agree that Doc Antle is shady AF and Jeff is just a scumbag con artist. Joe is a crazy narcissist, and Carole miiiight have killed Don, but honestly, she’s the least bad of a terrible bunch IMO.

  19. HoudiniHarry says:

I watched two full episodes, and about twenty minutes into the third, I’d had enough, so no, I will not be watching the next epi that comes out, or any more of them for that matter. I’m going to send letters to my representative and congressmen to pass a law that forbids owning any type of wild animal. They all disgust me.

  20. Bucky Bieber says:

No. As it was I bailed halfway through the series. The people in that show were so transparent. ‘Look at me. I’ve got tigers’ They’re like children trying to impress the other kids with the latest toy or gadget.

  21. Allergy says:

It’s disgusting. It’s worse than Springer.

  22. chancye says:

people really shouldn’t be them to make videos. It’s just helping them to profiteer from their awfulness

  23. Nibbi says:

I was worried about the animal mistreatment side of things, which is why I’ve been hesitating to watch it, despite being bored as hell & everyone talking about it… but the glossing over of animal abuse?!?! I’m particularly feeling like the world is an awful, cruel, unfair, ignorant place these days- why would I want to witness mistreatment of tigers, and the fact that everyone and their dog is enjoying watching this awfulness and glossing it over??! I feel like from how it sounds, it sucks that this thing is a hit. I want to know what the heck everyone is talking about, but I don’t want to give those people any more views or reward Netflix.
