Kate Moss is in bed by 11 pm, needs eight hours of sleep & has a Peloton?!

Daily Front Row's 2019 Fashion Media Awards

Kate Moss appears on millions of magazine covers every year, but she rarely gives interviews. This is part of the Moss Mystique, that she is a blank space onto which everyone can project their own loves and fears. So on the rare occasions when she does give an interview, it’s always noteworthy, even if… she’s not really saying anything groundbreaking. Moss spoke to Elle UK recently and most of this stuff sounds exactly like the sh-t Jennifer Aniston constantly says: yoga, sleep, skincare, etc. I’m surprised she didn’t talk about hydrating and chicken salads. Still, it’s interesting that notorious party girl Kate Moss needs her eight hours of sleep, and that she’s tucked in by 11 pm every night now.

She hits the sack: “11pm-ish, and watch Netflix before I go to sleep. I’ve just finished Sex Education – it’s so funny.

She wakes up: “Around 8am. I’m a bit groggy in the afternoon if I don’t get eight hours’ sleep.

The first thing she drinks in the morning: “Hot water and lemon. I try to have that first, and follow it up with a coffee.

Her daily makeup routine: “It tends to be a bit of cover-up, then whatever bronzer I have lying around, a Decorté lipstick as a stain, and I curl my eyelashes to finish.

Exercise routine: “.. [It] starts with yoga in the morning: my instructor comes to my house. I also have a mini gym with a Peloton bike, which I don’t use very often! It’s quite hardcore but my brother loves it.

Her worst beauty habit: “Forgetting to take my make-up off when I’m tired. I hate how it feels it in the morning

The last beauty item she bought: “A jade roller. I love it for under my eyes; it irons them out a bit. I keep one in my bag – when I’m bored, I just start rolling!

Her fridge is full of: “Loads of celery. I do celery juices for everyone in the house in the morning.

Her daily skin routine: “Very simple: I just wash and moisturise. But when I’m on holiday and have more time, I go wild. My daughter and I do beauty routines with all the serums and masks.

The craziest thing she’s done beauty-wise: “Dyeing my hair pink. It was only for a week, but when I dyed it back my hair fell out and I had to cut it all off!

How she deals with stress: “Doing yoga. It helps me concentrate on the here and now.

The best beauty advice she’s ever received: “Getting a lip colour I can use on my cheeks. I even pop a bit on my eyes, too.

Since I cover a lot of these kinds of “daily routine” interviews, I’ve tried out a few of things various celebrities have recommended. I now swear by a half a glass of water first thing in the morning. I don’t know why, but it really does help. I don’t have the patience in the morning for putting lemon in the water though. Maybe I’ll try it one day. I’m also shocked that Kate Moss, the wild child, has a Peloton, a mini-gym and a love for yoga. And the jade roller?! Wow. Damn it, now I kind of want to try a jade roller, knowing that Kate swears by it.

    LOVE HER. QUEEN.

    • whatWHAT? says:

I never really felt one way or the other about her but I LOVED her appearance in the AbFab movie; it showed her sense of humor about herself and her industry and made me like her.

    • Jules says:

      me too!

  2. Sarah says:

Years ago someone suggested to me to try drinking water first thing every morning. Ever since I always take a glass to bed so it’s there if I’m thirsty in the night and then I (mostly) drink it as I’m getting ready in the morning. I definitely think it helps me/my body wake up and get going.

  3. Noki says:

She looks pretty good if she really did party and smoke as much as claimed.

  4. Nopity Nope says:

I have rose quartz roller and I’m telling you – it’s legit done wonders for my face.

    • Jules says:

@nopity- How often do you use it and what have you noticed? I have one and it feels good… but have not noticed it making any changes yet.

    • Nikki says:

Well just yesterday Celebitchy had one of their recommended items to buy, and I ordered the rose quartz roller: one for me, one as a gift for my very pregnant daughter! Seemed like a fun gift!

    • Annaloo. says:

What am I doing wrong? I have both Jade and rose quartz rollers– ever since using them, I have broken out so badly! Do you have to clean them between uses?

      • stephagogo says:

        Hey Annaloo,
Re your breakouts, anything new in your routine besides the roller? Did your breakouts coincide with your new roots beveridge?

Regardless, def clean after use. Bacteria, sebum (skin oil), and dead skin cells can be transferred to the roller from and to your face.

        Cheers,

I used to drink hot water and a bit of ginger – its a good way to wake the digestive system up and get it going (also helps with weight loss).

  6. Becks1 says:

I have a glass of water by my bed and drink it when I wake up in the middle of the night (just a sip or two) and then I fill up my water bottle as soon as I wake up and drink that while the water for my tea is beating up. (I stopped coffee about a month or so ago and I really feel so much better overall, I think its less the coffee and more all the fake creamer I was using, lol.) Starting off with water really does help, and if you have a daily goal re: water, starting off with 10 or 20 oz just gets you there that much faster.

I wonder if she was given the peloton as a promotional thing or something and isn’t a fan and that’s why she doesn’t use.

During the pandemic I have streamlined my makeup routine SO much and now if I go “out” I basically just do what she does, and I think the simpler routine makes my eyes look better.

I put my jade roller in the fridge overnight and roll away in the morning. It feels amazing. I want to do yoga but keep slacking.

  8. Annaloo. says:

I do a hot concoction in the morning of fresh roots steeped in hot water: ginger, ginseng and turmeric. It’s been fantastic for my mild arthritis, but more importantly, energy and feeling awake . I haven’t touched coffee since, except for when I crave the taste of it, which is rare these days

  9. MM2 says:

I put lemon slices in a big jar of water & put that in my fridge, so it’s easy to just pour & have lemon water in the morning. I do a cucumber in water for the afternoon as well & love it on hot days.

Shiseido recently did a study that found pressure, tapping, pulling (?), tugging (?!?) and other ways of pressing the skin releases stem cells, and improves collagen production.

Google pressure and shiseido and you’ll find it

But tldr, gua sha, rollers etc can help skin elasticity

About 25 years ago, a friend told me that she drinks a glass of water first thing, every morning. (At the time, my beverage of choice was a can of Diet Coke…) I decided to take her advice, which turned out to be brilliant and a habit I’ve kept since then. And people are often surprised when I tell them I’m 53, because they say I look much younger! So maybe Kate has finally figured it out? She looks terrific, and not at all aged and haggard like the old days….
