Duchess Kate bought herbs at her first public event in three months

In another post, I came thisclose to writing about how the Duchess of Cambridge was not about to leave Anmer Hall to do any photo-ops any time soon, that she would leave that to her mask-free husband and father-in-law. But no. I’m glad I didn’t write that, because I would have had to eat my words. Duchess Kate stepped out on Thursday, and the photos and videos were just released today. This was her first public event since March – I actually think it’s been almost three months exactly. Kate stopped by the Fakenham Garden Centre in Norfolk to pick up some plants, herbs and whatever. Her visit was supposed to highlight that British businesses – especially smaller local businesses? – are coming back after the pandemic. (Except the pandemic is still happening.)

Kate wore NO MASK, skinny jeans, a £175 Fjällräven North America vest and Superga sneakers. Regarding the no mask thing – I completely understand that every country has different rules, laws, regulations, etc. I know that when Charles, William and Kate do these public events now, they’re social distancing. But I still maintain the fact that the royals (all of the royals) could lead by example and go extra-cautious with masks when they do public events.

According to Becky English, Kate chatted about how everyone is “buying herbs” these days, and when she and William are upset about social distancing or something? “When we do our food shopping we notice that everyone keeps their head down and it’s hard for that social interaction.” Like, people are trying to be safe, Kate. There’s people that are dying.

Lol.. While I get the PR and helping Brits get back to normal, buying herbs is a tad funny since FIL is a farmer (sorta). Couldn’t they have asked Charles for supplies?
First pics in long time that have not been airbrushed to death.

    • minx says:

All of them should be wearing masks. It just makes me uncomfortable to see this.

      • bettyrose says:

Really uncomfortable. I read the comments on the previous thread about how they’re not required in the UK and people are better at social distancing, but I’m still wondering why not wear the masks anyway? I’ve avoided any potential large gatherings for months, do my best to move 6 feet from anyone I’m passing on the street, and still wear a mask. Why compromise on either/or?

      • Vava says:

        word.

      • Couch potato says:

There was a shortage of a lot of things, including masks when Covid spread to Europe. The governments in quite a few European countries therefore prioritized masks for health care workers.

      • Kkat says:

        Here to @ Couch potatoe
It was impossible to buy masks here in California.
So we made our own, as it’s mandatory to wear a mask now in all of California.

If you use linen, certain microfibers the masks are more effective than n95. And washable.

        So there is no excuse

      • fifee says:

Masks are only a requirement on public transport. Government doesnt really give a shit about the general population, that was incredibly evident in their approach to Covid. And as Couch Potato says masks, hand sanitiser, PPE was very much in short supply for the caring professions and normal folk found it incredibly hard to get these items, it was only around the middle of May that we (partner & myself) were able to get masks & sanitiser.

      • Bettyrose says:

I was repurposing scarves for the first month before it got easier to buy masks from creative neighbors and Etsy artists.

      • M.A.F. says:

You can make your own mask or buy a cloth one online. So many clothing sites & Esty are selling mask so “there being a shortage” isn’t an excuse. No one said it had to be medical type mask.

      • minx says:

I made masks out of socks in April. Now there are plenty online. Kate must have access to them, why isn’t she wearing one?

      • Rosamundjo says:

We were explicitly told in the U.K. that maskS were rubbish and had no effect…for MONTHS. It is only in the last two weeks that that has changed slightly (and only half heartedly at that).

      • notasugarhere says:

Yet another excuse for Kate’s failure to wear one the other day? Are you claiming she’s too stupid to know or learn better? To see what is happening all over the world, to see the reports of mask effectiveness by other news outlets?

  2. Sofia says:

“When we do our food shopping we notice that everyone keeps their head down and it’s hard for that social interaction.”

My introverted self loves that haha. But this could be a “careful what you wish for” type situation. If you put it out there that you want more people talking to you then don’t be surprised the next time people want to interact with you socially and you’re just trying to shop and be “normal”

But then again, not a lot of people probably care enough

    • GuestWho says:

My guess is that they don’t actually do the food shopping, so no worries on the uptick in interaction.

      • Royalwatcher says:

I’m pretty sure she just means that when she goes “shopping” in her own pantry, the servants are trained not to make eye contact and to act like they don’t see her.

She’s not doing her own shopping at an actual store. The only time she did that was back in Wales whenever she needed a photo op to show that she was still “living in Wales” after having been papped shopping in London.

    • Lundi says:

She’s right though, people were antisocial before but it does mess with your head a bit when people step away from you and avoid you. We all know why it’s happening but it’s something we have to constantly remind ourselves about and it’s probably really not good for us psychologically.

      • Sofia says:

People couldn’t even make conversation with Kate because her bodyguards will swat them away. And if Kate tried to make conversation first, people would probably ignore her because a) they don’t want to “mess up” and b) want to be left alone.

      • yinyang says:

@Sophie, “people want to avoid conversation with her because they don’t want to mess up”– oh brother.

      • notasugarhere says:

No one is worried they’re going to ‘mess up’ around Kate, they can tell for themselves she’s no intellectual weight.

    • AprilMay says:

It’s funny she’s forgetting her own pr. they had a story, last Christmas I think, about how George and Charlotte would help the delivery men bring the food delivery in from the vans to the house. And another telling is how they were such good parents that they sent their bodyguards out to do the shopping for them.
And why is she bringing three young children with her shopping, is the government not encouraging people to leave children at home if possible. It’s not like we don’t know she doesn’t have help at home and I don’t know their dad?!

    • Nic919 says:

If people wore masks they would feel more comfortable looking up because the spread would be better contained. But she’s too dumb to understand that.

    • notasugarhere says:

She doesn’t do the food shopping. She’s been caught many times sending the RPOs food shopping. That’s right, 100,000/year food shoppers. Why the housekeeper, cook, or one of the three nannies cannot do the shopping is a question.

  3. Jay says:

I’m glad she is highlighting local businesses – this is a great use of her platform. Lol she really wants us to know she’s going to a grocery store just like a normal 😂.

    • Lizzie says:

Way to reach out to those suffering, out of work, short on food and not enough money to pay bills.

    • MA says:

So she runs errands on the taxpayer’s time and that’s highlighting local business? Amazing. Just a hair up from when she went to look at textiles as “work”

    • Tessa says:

She goes “shopping” only for those photo ops.

  4. janey says:

that top picture “Big Willy told me his cucumber would grow this big…” Penultimate pic “but it only actually got this big, phew!”.

  5. Osty says:

The queen of Karens and her boss are useless, imagine running errands as work, when I tot they wouldnt go low after counting bingo playing as work , they said hold my beer. Pathetic

  6. Digital Unicorn says:

She looks noticeably different and then I realised that these photo’s are not photoshopped to sh!t like they usually are – the press only stop photoshopping her to within an inch of her life when they are being snarky. Its the same on the zooms calls she looks worn out and older than she really is.

Someone needs to give her some vitamin D serum for her skin.

    • molly says:

It’s not photoshop, it’s Botox. (Dozens of photographers and regular people take her picture when she’s out and post it right away. No way they could ALL be equally smooth.) She just looks more like a regular woman in her late 30s now. She obviously won’t leave it like that, but it’s nice to see it while it’s here.

      • Molly says:

It’s not just Botox. I’ve never seen Kate’s neck look like that.

      • bettyrose says:

Is it the cigarettes? I’m about 8 years older than Kate, don’t smoke, and wear sunscreen religiously, but I’m starting to see some of those signs of age. I really thought I’d last forever with smooth skin, but I’m not willing to botox (give me 10-20 years and ask me again).

I got carded on my bday a couple of weeks ago (getting take out at a social distance) which would’ve been flattering except I was wearing a mask.

      • WintryMix says:

It’s not remotely typical for a woman in her late 30s. I’m in my early 40s and I don’t look anything like that wrinkled and tired, and god knows it’s not because I have an easy life. Is it stress, drinking, smoking, tanning, genetics? Really surprising to me given her resources.

      • February Pisces says:

Kate’s only a couple of years older than me, and there’s no way she has the skin of a regular 30 something year old. If my face looked that bad I would have fillers and Botox in a second, but still don’t really need to yet. I think the combination of having an eating disorder, excessive tanning, and heavy smoking have taken its toll. She always looks better with extra weight, But I think she has some sort of body dismorphia, preferring to be skinny at the expense of her complexion.

She gets every treatment known to man done to her face, to the highest standard, and a few months in lockdown has left her looking like this?

My skin as suffered a bit during lockdown, mostly dryness, but Kate’s is extreme. My guess is being in lockdown with Willie has aged her by 10 years.

      • Billie says:

Ah, I was wondering when the series of commenters talking about how they look younger than Kate would come in. It didn’t take long.
        #bodyshamingisbad

      • February Pisces says:

@billie it’s not body shaming, my age group is only a few years younger than Kate and no one I know in their mid thirties looks that wrinkled. I was responding the the comment about her looking like a normal 30 something. She doesn’t, she looks very malnourished and it’s is worrying for someone as young as her to look like that.

      • notasugarhere says:

Ah, Billie, failed try. As discussed elsewhere, the hyperphoto of Kate is done by her obsessed fans and the media. The ‘real Kate’ is rarely seen, and her fans are the ones who don’t like how she looks in real life. Otherwise they wouldn’t photoshop away every wrinkle. When the media stops photoshopping her, it is a way for them to show they aren’t completely under the thumb of W&K.

    • Vava says:

I think it’s the hairstyle, it’s not becoming at all. Pulled back from her face like that. Get a haircut Kate, cut it to just above your shoulder and get some layers around your face.
That outfit is horrid. Maybe the shirt could be salvaged, but the other pieces are just awful, especially the pants.

      • Nic919 says:

I want to burn that vest. I truly hate it. It’s her attempt to look like a working peasant but no one who works wears a vest like that, especially not in the summer.

      • Vava says:

I hate that vest as well.

    • notasugarhere says:

You can tell when the press is getting tired of pandering to W&K by how little they airbrush her photos. When they are happy with W&K and the leaks they provide? They go overboard on the photoshop blur tool.

      • PrincessK says:

They are probably easing up on the air brushing because Meghan is no longer nearby.

    • Andrea says:

I am 39 and have no wrinkles on my forehead or face. I use day/night creams and a serum at night also. I also wear spf 50 on my face outside. She clearly doesn’t have a good face regime.

  7. Nic919 says:

Everyone should be wearing a mask when going outside the social circle. That’s how this will stop spreading. So it’s really dumb that none of them are doing it.
The risk in indoor areas is way higher than people realize. It just takes a cough and then someone walking into it a few minutes later.

Also seems dumb to go shopping as the first thing. People already know to shop once things have loosened. How about visiting seniors or go to help at a food bank.

    • Lady D says:

They won’t let us near senior’s home:( Not even spouses can get in. They have also changed workers jobs. Most of the care aids I know around here work in one of four different homes in the area to make up a full paycheck. That has ended and now they can only work in one home to prevent the spread of covid.

      • jessa says:

Almost no-one is wearing masks in the UK. I think it will become more common over the next few weeks, but other than on transport and a few other places (doctors I think – to be honest, I’m not even sure!) they’re not mandatory, or even really part of the conversation.

Sadly, it’s shopping and businesses are what our questionable government has focussed on first. Garden centres have been open for weeks. We’ve just had ‘social bubbles’ introduced for some specific households (single households/single parents) and can see family outside but no indoor meetings at all, and no physical contact. It’s frustrating, and to be honest, people are breaking the rules anyway.

  8. Osty says:

So louis is a cook whose first words was Mary Berry , George is a painter, an athlete, a artist , loves watching boring old pple news, they all love listening to David attenborough, now they are gardeners 😀😀 Those kids must be geniuses, sme better call MENSA

    • Anonymous says:

The Cambridges deserve to be derided for their racism, lack of work ethic and a myriad other BRF-related crap. But this seems like a really strange thing to pick on. Kate never said her kids were genius-level cooks, athletes, artists or gardeners. She said they’re interested in and enjoy those activities. Lots of kids do. And lots of moms enjoy watching their kids learn.

      • notasugarhere says:

W&K always claim their kids are interested in X when they are visiting something about X. It is another of their failed PR tricks, the lies they tell constantly about the kids.

  9. AnnaKist says:

Sorry. I can’t concentrate on the story as I’m distracted by her face. What’s occurring here? Is it because the pix aren’t touched-up, harsh lighting, rubbish camera or photographer, or something else?

    • Osty says:

This is mrs kp in her “natural glory ” , she only looks good, wrinkle free n with nicer skin
if her pics are airbrushed or fresh out of the botox clinic

      • Mtec says:

Remember when they wanted to give credit to Kate for Meghan’s glow? LOL I sure do.

Even more ridiculous now that we can see the un-photoshopped, actual the texture of her skin. Makes so much sense now why she overdid it with the really warm amber/red lighting in her two most recent zooms (the ones by the window), where she looks orange. It did seem to me she was trying to hide something about her face, now we know.

      • Nic919 says:

I will give her credit for not getting people in to Amner in order to update the botox. In fact aging normally is fine. It’s just too bad she’s afraid of it.

      • Jules says:

@Nnic919, yes to aging being fine normal and fine. Not gonna condemn her for this.

      • notasugarhere says:

If she’s not topping up the botox, we might see baby #4 on the way. That’s generally the only time she gives it up – when she’s trying to get pregnant.

  10. ziaaa says:

Lol The name of the garden centre “Fake n Ham”….never has there been a more apt description of the keens!

    • Züri says:

I thought the same thing! Including her “countryside aristocrat” cosplay garb of the day.

      • Mtec says:

LOL she does “love literal dressing.” Here she is in her best gardener cosplay.

      • Züri says:

@metc, the thought process, “How many (clashing) shades of green can I squeeze into this outfit?” I hate commenting on her appearance, but it’s indicative of larger Kate issues.

      • Lexistential says:

If she had any substantial energy, she could look like a countryside aristocrat- on Queen Maxima, CP Mary, or CP Victoria, that would seem dressed down and regally informal.

But, she looks like a Manager of a Home Depot, and she could be an extra in Schitt’s Creek.

  11. aquarius64 says:

Did the herbs Kate come from the farm near Middleton property when the police raided it for marijuana?

  12. Marjorie says:

Kate and Will doing their food shopping:

In the day-receiving room at Anmer Hall, Kate looks at Mrs. Cook’s list, crosses off any carbs, hands it back to Mrs. Cook, turns back to tablet to search for ruffle-button dresses. Will coughs.

  13. Okurr says:

This has put me off Fjällräven and Superga.

  14. Lizzie says:

I cannot imagine a more meaningless photo op. Anyone who wants to buy herbs knows where to f-ing get them. What are you doing TODAY about people who are out of work who cannot afford to feed their kids? This is a sickening ‘let them eat cake’ moment.

    • dsfskfsg says:

It’s good that she is highlighting a small local business. If people stop visiting because supermarkets are more convienent they will close for good and people who own and work at these small businesses won’t be able to feed their kids either.

      • Lizzie says:

It’s no secret that small business are hurting. Lots of people are employed at supermarkets too.
It would be nice to highlight wearing a mask.

      • dsfskfsg says:

Supermarkets in the UK have actually profited from the pandemic so their employees will be fine unlike some small business owners and their employees.

Masks are not mandatory in the UK so I don’t see why she should have to highlight it. Even the two people that she was pictured with aren’t wearing masks.

French President Emmanuel Macron (who is currently in the UK), Prince Charles and Camila haven’t been pictured wearing masks either.

      • Nic919 says:

It is wrong for all public figures to be out and about without a mask. The UK has been decidedly backwards in this way and they have the highest per capita death rate.

Besides if they are to be the government mouthpieces and unquestioningly obey all directives, why isn’t Charlotte in school? They seem to pick and choose what they want to do as per the “government guidelines”.

      • MA says:

The embiggening never ceases. I guess Harry and Meghan should get credit for “highlighting local businesses” when they were snapped going to aromatherapy stores or delis.

How is this any different from reality tv show stars? Literally just documenting her going about her day except she gets praised for it. This is identical to the Kardashians going to the grocery store for their “work”

      • s says:

This is part of a targeted effort by the UK Government to get people to go back out and support the small businesses which are now reopening (many were considered “non-essential” during the pandemic). In one of the feature write-ups on this visit they mentioned this particular garden center was down 1 million pounds so far this year.

The Queen also put out a statement in support of small business. In visiting their garden center and bakery Willian and Catherine are joining a broader effort by the firm and the UK government.

      • notasugarhere says:

Right, s, Kate Keen showing up in her silly cosplay outfit is ‘helping’. First time she’s been seen in public in three months, after the PR visit to the bookshop for her ‘working from home on a console table’ failed PR photo shoot. What we’re calling out here is the blatant PR games. Other royals have been out for weeks, but Keen is just now showing up? Only after repeated criticism of her failure to show up in public.

  15. Royalwatcher says:

So…Keen shopping for herbs at a garden center is now counting as work for her?! Oops BRB, my eyes rolled so hard they fell on the floor. 👀

  16. M Narang says:

I always forget to wear my “adventuring” vest when I hit up the local garden centre 🤦🏽‍♀️

  17. Molly says:

Is this what Kate look like without her full regimen of treatment?

Visiting a garden center. 🤷 Her personal shopping is now counted as an engagement while Sophie’s actual volunteering is counted as her personal time.

    • MA says:

Meghan spent hundreds of hours meeting with charities and guest-editing Vogue but this grocery store run is exactly the same thing

  18. MJM says:

All I can say is I miss Meghan. Sorry if that is threadjacky. 🥺

  19. Mtec says:

You know what’s funny, Meghan haters love to criticize her because in their opinion she “centres” herself in photographs and that the pictures and cameras are always on her during engagements—but yet say nothing when Will does it (you can see in yesterday’s pics with the Ambulance workers) & when Kate does it as well. That whole “hatebase” operates on hypocrisy (sexism & racism too), just like the Royals they pretend to admire.

  20. Eenie Googles says:

I really hate this tired-ass 2010 look she keeps pulling out.

  21. Katie_44 says:

I know everyone is finding fault, but I honestly can’t right now. I live in NYC and our small businesses are hurting too. So while a herb farm isn’t the best choice, highlighting that small businesses are at least trying is at least a positive to me. Hopefully they will continue to highlight different aspects of society, like food banks, etc next

    • Becks1 says:

I don’t mind the actual visit. It’s important to highlight local businesses that may not have the capital to survive the pandemic. William visited a local bakery in Kings Lynn today or yesterday as well. the actual visits I don’t have a problem with.

      Its the stupid vest!!!! lol.

    • MA says:

It’s not bad that she’s doing this but A – it’s not work and B – it’s not praiseworthy. Pretending it is is the problem.

    • s says:

Precisely Katie-44! The fact that people are writing this off as “PR” shows how out of touch they are with how this pandemic has affected Britain.
      It’s not an either/or situation.
Additionally, not sure why people on this site think this was just her stopping by to shop? This was a planned visit to coincide with the British government opening up more businesses.

    • notasugarhere says:

15 minutes of Kate posing at an herb farm isn’t helping and shouldn’t count as work.

  22. Lizzie Bathory says:

Nothing about this outfit makes sense to me.

  23. Noki says:

Do people really want to chit chat in the middle of food shopping?

  24. Harper says:

I’m too busy looking at her waistline trying to figure out if she’s preggers or not. It’s not as sunken in as it usually is so either she ate a cupcake over lockdown or she’s baking another bun.

    • Becks1 says:

I don’t think she is. If she is, she wouldn’t be working at all.

We don’t usually see her in pants that are that high waisted though.

      • molly says:

I noticed the buttons and zippers pulling a bit too. IMO, plenty of people ate too much and worked out to little during lockdown. (Raises hand.) I judge not.

    • Beach Dreams says:

I wonder if it’s the outfit. She’s worn a few outfits that make her look fuller/hide how slim she is in the past year.

    • notasugarhere says:

She gains weight and stops botox when she’s trying to get pregnant. William still owes her baby #4 for Rose.

  25. nicegirl says:

I thought they were growing the herb??? Lol

  26. Becks1 says:

OMG this outfit is making me laugh so much. She knows you can just wear a normal outfit to a gardening center right??? Not everything has to be full on theme. This really looks like she thought “I must look like a gardener!”

They definitely didn’t photoshop these pictures which is interesting as others have pointed out.

    • Chrissy says:

She forgot to wear the wellies to complete the gardening theme. So predictable!

  27. Awkward symphony says:

Plain kate strikes again! Although itd maybe be great for the business I doubt this would help anyone nor make GLOBAL headlines.
The clip by becky english is a typical one of kate where you need to decipher her words!! I have no idea what she’s saying and it reminded me of her asking “can you get the smell by smelling it”😂

Also, why is she bringing three kids with vulnerable amuine system shopping??? That’s dangerous especially when we see that they didnt wear masks whilst delivering the pastas

  28. CrystalBall says:

So basically she’s upset that no one noticed her shopping for food. She was looking forward to being papped and an article coming out about how she’s just like everyone else. Oh dear, it must be exhausting trying to get noticed – she’d better start her summer break soon.

  29. Priscila Bezerra-Fischer says:

I do not like her, but I have always found her to be a beautiful woman. Not my kind of beauty, but beautiful, yes.

Now I realize it is the power of photoshop.

    • Lady D says:

I’m the same with Kim Kardashian. I think she is hands down one of the prettiest women out there. I know it’s makeup and surgery, and fillers and botox but I still think she’s beautiful. Certainly the prettiest member of the K-klan, Chi excepted. That little girl is going to be stunning without medical intervention of any kind.

    • Tessa says:

I always thought she was rather plain but puts on a lot of makeup.

  30. Molly says:

I was wondering why a garden center and I think it’s linked to being able to still be outside. I really think Kate is fearful.

William also visited a small business. Keeping with the theme of baking, he visited a bakery.

  31. Florence says:

She looks like she’s had her picture run through one of those ageing apps :/

  32. Cg2495 says:

Wow! She does look rough for a 38 yr old. 🥱 … that outfit is ridiculous!

  33. Cosmo says:

How can she say with a straight face that they grocery shop for their own food. Give me a break. The BM will buy into anything that these dolittles say.

  34. yinyang says:

Wow the zoom calls must use softening features cause she looks hard here. Well her stylist did a good job dressing her, cosplaying normcore today. Maybe people look down at her when shopping because she’s not as well liked as she thinks, she is a welfare scammer some people must resent that.

    • Chrissy says:

I think she looks better on the Zoom clips because of the “softening” filters. She looks really rough here

  35. Original Jenns says:

All I have to add is that the “Kim, there are people dying” is my favorite meme and quote. So appropriate for all occasions. Who knew Kourtney would give us such a gift!

  36. Lush says:

    She’s such a silly woman..I can’t LMAO.

I don’t see anything wrong with her face. She looks natural here…maybe too much sun/tanning but no botox. She really looks like her father.

  37. paddingtonjr says:

Whew, Keen Katie did a Zoom call and a visit to a garden centre. Poor poppet must be tired! How does she do it? Oh yeah, lots of help and very low expectations.

  38. TeamMeg says:

Do you think she gardens in that ring, though?

  39. February Pisces says:

You know how in films they add these prosthetics to make the actor look old, Kate literally looks like that in some of the pics. I know she has bad skin but she looks like she’s aged years in weeks. They must usually airbrush her pics before they send them to the press. The crazy thing is she has everything done, the best facial, lasers, Botox the whole damn works. She’s only a few years older than me and I don’t have any Botox or anything like and she literally looks about 2 decades older me. If that’s what being in lockdown with Willie does to your complexion, I would divorce him immediately.

  40. Intheknow says:

If I didn’t know her age and I had to guess, I’d put her at 48 yrs old…

    • Anonymous says:

I think it’s partly because she’s so thin, and clearly follows a very restrictive diet. And I suspect, if her husband is/was cheating, and she’s being pressured to do more work, that she is stressed out, which also ages you.

      • FicklePickle says:

Plus the decade+ of more than moderate drinking, smoking, and tanning. It’s done the same to a lot of the Grimaldi’s down in Monaco as well.

  42. Amina Khan says:

I’m annoyed that Royals aren’t wearing masks because the official government guidance is to wear masks in shops/public transport. But no one is following this, people are okay brushing past you, no one is wearing masks in shops. I saw one woman, ONE, wearing a mask in the supermarket today.
I feel like they are tacitly saying it’s fine not to. This government is doing below the bare minimum and it’s disgusting.

  43. Ali says:

Whew she looks old. Botox wearing off and lockdown not going as well as they want us to believe. Also, while yes those visits are about supporting local businesses, why on earth do they count as work? Go there, post a pic on it and call it a day but to actually say this is work is truly ridiculous. Can’t take them seriously.

    • Miss C says:

She does look old she needs some more Botox too bad she’s not Megan black don’t crack

  44. MJM says:

So she looks darker than Meghan in her recent Zoom appearances yet very pale here. So it’s spraytan or filters. Good to get that cleared up.

  45. Mrs. Smith says:

I don’t hate this appearance. I mean, fine. But, can’t she just bring a mask? I get that people want to see her face (I would too!). She can give remarks or whatever while socially distanced, but wear a mask when she arrives/departs/interacts closely with people. I pic of her in a mask looking at herbs for sale with a local vendor would be great!

    @AMINA KHAN
“I’m annoyed that Royals aren’t wearing masks..”

The Spanish royals were out today and they’ve been wearing masks since they went back to doing engagements during lockdown. Sophie wears masks on all her volunteering and engagement visits. I dont know why chuck doesnt even when he had it!!
The keenbridges especially KeenKueen kate would hate wearing one because it doesnt fit into her theme dressing. If she was smart she could’ve started a trend by colour dressing in different styles/patterns but that’s too much to expect from her

  47. Thea says:

About the mask thing. For people saying that the UK govt isn’t requiring mask because they are better at social distancing…then why are the UK numbers so high?

  48. Bethany Karger says:

I sure wish she’d give the hands a rest. Her over the top enthusiasm is really fake and annoying.

  49. Watson says:

Aging naturally isn’t a crime and she’s quite pretty, but the differences between this and her photoshopped/Botox ones are jarring. My initial thoughts were: “that’s your real face?!?” 🤯

  50. Soupie says:

Well she looks very happy to be in the garden center. Obviously gardening and children are her favorite things in life. That’s not such a bad thing. Gardening and children are what saved me from an absolutely rotten marriage. (A clue here?) Even if she is a mean girl, she’s at least non-narcissistic enough to love plants and children.

    • Jaded says:

She’s narcissistic enough to take part in the bigotry and leaks surrounding Harry and Meghan’s forced departure from the “family”. Did you not see her at the Commonwealth service? She had a face like a razor blade the whole time and didn’t even acknowledge them. She’s more than a mean girl, she’s a manipulative, cunning back-stabber who, along with her husband, co-opted funds from the Hub cookbook and other of the Sussex’s work for their own foundation.

    • notasugarhere says:

She’s posing at a garden centre for PR and ‘work’. This has nothing to do with a personal interest of hers.

This, Jaded. Why so many people pretend Kate didn’t mean girl her way into her current life is beyond me. This is who she has always been, always shown herself to be.

  51. SpilldatT says:

I’m a lot older than Katy Keene, but I honestly don’t understand how she looks older as many are pointing out?
She looks like people I see all the time who are her age. She looks like people who’ve spent a good few weeks away from full on social engagements to me personally.
But Jeebus, the outfit is what’s old.
That alone will age a 2 year old into an octogenarian.
Of all the items in her multi-million dollar wardrobe and this left over from Windsor Castle’s groundskeeper from 1910 is all she could find to wear?
As for not wearing masks, sadly many aren’t wearing it even in my city where we’ve been told to wear them for ages. Most people weren’t even being respectful of keeping their
distance even after we had much tougher restrictions in place.
Some are going overboard with wearing masks and gloves while driving their own car on the other hand LOL
The best are ones who wear masks and gloves, then pull the masks down to talk on their cell phone, with a bare hand because they can’t unlock their phones, while grocery shopping, barging into other people to grab items.
Stupidity knows no bounds and have never heard of cross contamination, I guess.
The UK has been slow on the uptake on any measures so they haven’t been told to wear masks. Yet. Even after Borisboy was in the hospital.
