DM: Sources insist Duchess Kate ‘was crying after a dress fitting with Charlotte’

Royal wedding

Well, at least the Daily Mail is no longer trying to pretend that no one will be buying Finding Freedom and that the book is selling poorly. Even the DM had to admit that the book is already #1 on Amazon UK’s presale list and it’s climbing to the top of the American Amazon list too. Perhaps that’s because the British media has spent the past three days freaking the f–k out about the book and they ended up giving it a mountain of free publicity? Perhaps. The media and the courtiers are trying so hard to refute all of these stories as soon as they come out that we’ll have headlines for days/weeks.

Speaking of, you know how Finding Freedom goes through some of the dumbest stories and denies them specifically? Take for example the nearly two-year-old story of “Meghan made Kate cry at a bridesmaids fitting.” We’ve heard so many dumb variations on what happened and there’s never any consistency to any of it beyond “mean Megan made Kate cry, no follow-up questions!” FF spoke to sources who were in the room for the fitting and one of those sources said: “Some of the children weren’t co-operating, and there was a lot going on. Everyone tried to help where they could, but it’s never easy with kids at fittings. There were no tears from anyone. And in the end, the fitting was fine. Kate and Meghan were both a little stressed but professionals in the room, and there were other people there.” Other sources insisted that the whole “Meghan made Kate cry” story was completely made up. Well, the Daily Mail has another point-by-point denial from those bitchy viper courtiers (who keep telling on themselves, quite honestly) and it’s just as asinine as you would think.

Unnamed courtiers on whether they’re really as racist & nasty as the Sussexes claim: The description of senior palace courtiers as ‘vipers’ has sparked some amusement in royal circles, conjuring up the image of a group of bikers in leather jackets. ‘Maybe thirty years ago there would have been an issue, but that’s just laughable to suggest now,’ said one insider. The source said it was obvious ‘why it would suit the narrative of the book’, but insisted the description is ‘just not true’. Another insider said: ‘The fact is that Meghan was welcomed with open arms and everyone did their best to offer their help about how to navigate such a tricky public role – advice she would often choose to ignore. They did the best they could in often trying circumstances.’

The “Meghan made Kate cry” story: Sources insist Meghan had reduced her sister-in-law to tears over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress. The Daily Telegraph reported that two sources said the Duchess of Cambridge was crying after a dress fitting with Charlotte. The Mail has also spoken to sources who support the claim that Kate was deeply upset. Dismissing the story yesterday, the book described the claims as ‘puzzling’ and questioned whether someone from the palace could have been behind the tale.

On the Diptyque scent diffusers: FF says the diffusers were approved by the palace. But: “Insiders at both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace confirmed that the request had been made by the duchess’s office for the scented diffusers and that it hadn’t gone down well. Those sources stood by their account last night.

On the Cambridges snubbing the Sussexes on Commonwealth Day: Royal watchers point out the ‘icy encounter’ was the first time they had all seen each other since the ‘Sandringham Summit’ showdown over the Sussexes’ role two months earlier, and a formal event was not the moment to rebuild bridges.

[From The Daily Mail]

Shall I refute this DM piece point by point as well? Let’s try it!

Re: the viper courtiers. Considering they’ve blanketed the British media to further smear and malign the Sussexes as the excerpts were published, I think they are exactly as bitchy and horrible as the Sussexes claim. In fact, I’m sure the courtiers are worse.

Re: the crying story. Kate is such a Karen! Would Kate even have an identity if she wasn’t so ensconced in her own white-woman victimhood? I guess the new story is that Kate did cry, just not in front of Meghan, and that Meghan did *something* which made Kate super-emotional. What is that thing, though? Did Meghan simply want to… plan her own wedding and the Duchess of Karen couldn’t f–king handle it?

Re: the diffusers, OMFG. The fact that unnamed sources are still clinging to that f–king story.

Re: Commonwealth Day – I mean, no one expected William and Kate to turn their seats around and hold hands with the Sussexes. But a smile, a “how are you, nice to see you” greeting? I guess that would have been too much for the petty Keens.

If I remember correctly the first thing they said was that the Cambridges had been nice enough as to forego they procession and walk to their seats as to protect Sussex from embarrassment- then Kate Mean Girl had to go and spoil this narrative with her cold shoulder antics.

Yep, The commonwealth was not a place to mend bridges- but also not to completely ignore a person to the point KLate did not even say hello!

But yeah, DM has to spin this their own way, no matter if any rational people would know it is bullshit- but nevermind, they trust their readers NOT to be rational.

    • BabsORIG says:

I think it would be great if KP and the couriers, whoever they’re stopped talking for once in their miserable lives, but alas…🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 These fools never learn. They should know from the debacle that was Tatler article that the more they talk and try to spin anything, the worse things get for them but again, alas.. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

    • cindyloowho says:

I never post here, but I think you are absolutely right. Kate was furious that day!! I think the “forego the procession” was definitely NOT her idea. Apparently, don’t interfere with Katie Keen and her FFQ duties – this is what she does desperately care about.

      • Beth says:

Unrelated but I always interpret FFQ as Future F*cking Queen and it makes me laugh. I’m assuming it’s actually future future (or something to that effect), since Camilla is before her

    • Digital Unicorn says:

It was clear Top CEO was NOT happy about not being in the procession – status is very very important to her plus she was robbed of the opportunity to lord it over Meghan one last time.

      • Lizzie Bathory says:

@Digital Unicorn Yes. Kate looked positively ill. And I’m reminded that her ego must have taken SEVERAL blows at that point:
        1) The last minute Ireland tour went over like a lead balloon. Even the DM talked about the cost of Kate’s outfits for a 3 day “tour.”
        2) That iconic photo of Harry & Meghan looking gorgeous & in love makes international headlines.
        3) Will & Kate were listed in the program for the CW service as being in the procession. For an institution as protocol-obsessed as the BRF, it seems pretty clear that they were demoted at the last minute.

Kate is absolutely status-obsessed & ego-driven, so after ALL of that? She was clearly miserable.

      • Anance says:

Kate has no identity beyond being the wife of the Duke of Cambridge, future King. Remember that was under threat at the time, with Rose Hanbury fulfilling part of the role and Meghan contributing so much to the other part.

Kate wants to be the only daughter-in-law of King Charles, she wants no competition nor any redefinition of that role. It’s her and that’s it.

Re the viper comments from courtiers. I’m sure they never expected to take orders from a biracial woman. That was the problem.

      • February-Pisces says:

Yes that it is exactly. A few fonts down mentioned how she was mad jealous of Meghan and Harry’s umbrella pics and the red dress. Meghan slayed the farewell tour and her looks were on fire. Kate was mad jealous but always had the procession to put Meghan in her place. She was looking forward to showing off while Meghan was sat. That is until she and the duke of cainbridge were told to sit the f*ck down too. It was already printed in the program that they were going to walk, so it must have been last minute. Lol, the look on her face.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

In fact, I think their comments have made it crystal clear that rather than take orders from a biracial lady, they expected her to take orders from them.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Oops, my first comment was for Anance.

Great analyses of Kate! She must be so petty that it tests the limits of imagination- but it all rings true. Imagine caring that much about status and attention- it’s warped her entire life and character.

      • Alexandria says:

She is so status concious she doesn’t attend events where she has to publicly curtsey to the blood princesses.

      • Nic919 says:

Someone pointed out Kate looking sour at the ANZAC service where Harry and the Duke of Gloucester took precedence over her. She did not like it. Maybe someone needs to remind her of her rank and that it only matters when her spouse is nearby. But then again this one was walking ahead of the queen and Philip so she only uses rank when it benefits her.

      • Becks1 says:

@nic – I think she was thrown off at that service because Harry let her walk in ahead of him when they entered the church (when he comes “before” her if William isn’t around), but they still sat according to precedence, and I wonder if she thought Harry would let her have his seat or something?

      • anotherlily says:

The usual practice is that ALL members of the RF who attend this service join the Queen’s procession. The difference this year was unnecessary and it looked like vindictiveness. The Wessexes were also left out. If they had been included in the procession the insult to the Sussexes would have been blindingly obvious since Prince Edward ranks below Harry. (Harry still holds his place in the line of succession and in the order of precedence whether or not he undertakes formal duties). I got the impression that Charles had insisted on the Cambridges also being omitted from the procession. I suspect viper courtiers had organised the details and ensured the Order of Service was printed to include William and Kate.

Nic919: There is a short youtube video of the Anzac service which captures Kate’s sour expression. The earliest reports had been that Kate would ‘represent the Royal Family’ at the service. (William was in New Zealand). Then reports were that Harry would also attend. (Meghan was near her due date). The video shows them arriving together. Kate looks animated and happy. As they enter the Abbey, Harry darts ahead and starts greeting the assembled clergy. Kate’s face drops. Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, then comes into view and as they prepare to follow the choir in procession Richard takes his place beside Kate who looks less than pleased. When they reach their seats Harry takes the highest ranking place (the chair nearest the altar) and Richard takes second place next to Harry, leaving Kate to take the third ranking place.

There are separate Orders of Precedence for male and female. Kate has no rank of her own and her position depends on her husband. If the Duchess of Gloucester had been present she would have taken her place beside the Duke and in that case the form would have been for Kate as the higher ranking female to be escorted by Harry. Since she was the only female present she was escorted by the lower-ranking Prince. From her sour expression it seems she didn’t understand this, which is astonishing for someone who has been in the RF for 9 years. There are longer videos of this service which show that Kate made little effort to engage pleasantly with Prince Richard.

      • February-Pisces says:

@anotherlily harry was a last minute addition. I think he was there so they could do the whole ‘kate and harry look so happy…without meghan’ narrative. That’s what seemed to be the headline from it. It’s funny cos walking in she was pulling that weird wide mouth laugh she does. But he looked like he wasn’t playing her games. Harry looked cordial at best but he wasn’t up for fulfilling Kate’s fantasy that day. Kate stans were gushing about seeing them together, probably dreaming about them getting it on. She didn’t look pleased to have some 50th in line to the throne duke sat between them. She probably wanted to get her flirt on for the benefit of the cameras. That was where that picture was taken where harry looks like he’s smiling at kate. In reality his smile looked half arsed, and on the video it lasted less that a second but that didn’t stop her stans creaming their pants. Also as they drove off apparently harry sat as far away as her could from her in the car and ignored her.

      • Nic919 says:

The entire ANZAC service was protocol in action and Kate doesn’t understand it I guess. Maybe more time should have been spent on that. It is pathetic that being married almost 10 years she didn’t know this.

I mean the entire concept is ridiculous, but Katie keen wants to lord her rank when she can so it’s only just that she’s reminded of the fact that married ins do not matter in the scheme of things.

      • Anance says:

Kate’s pettiness comes from her insecurity about William’s (open secret) infidelity. As far as the ANZAC service, she might have already been angry that she didn’t go NZ with William. I remember during Diana’s time the paparazzi in a third country – Italy or Turkey – caught Camilla staying with Charles during an official visit.

I wouldn’t put it beyond William to take sweet Rose to NZ, perhaps spending time in a nearby tropical island before returning home. Maybe not. But, Kate might have suspected this.

So, she would have been keenly aware of any perceived slight. Here you see how her attitude toward Meghan hurt her. Had she remained friendly with Harry or, at least, not actively harmed him, he might have finessed the situation for her.

    • Nic919 says:

The commonwealth service was not the place to air petty grievances but Kate could not act professionally and rise above any irritation she had over not being in a procession. She thought she could act like a bitch in church over something as minor as who walks in what order. Well jokes on her because the world saw her for the bitter pathetic woman that she is. Only cultists can defend her rude and ignorant behaviour.

      • anotherlily says:

Alexandria: There are no occasions where Kate has to curtsy to the ‘blood princesses’. Orders of precedence relate to things like processional and seating. People of HRH status, which includes Kate, bow or curtsy only to those of higher status i.e. those who are ‘Majesty’. Those members of the RF who are not HRH, including those with no titles, also do not bow or curtsy except to the Queen and Prince Philip. For example, Zara Tindall does not curtsy to the ‘blood princesses’.

The two revised orders of precedence for royal ladies drawn up after the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the marriage of William and Kate do not include the York Princesses. The revisions were designed to give Princess Anne and Princess Alexandra precedence over Camilla, Kate and Sophie on certain occasions when their husbands were not present. However, as far as Camilla is concerned, this appears to have been revised again.

An example of female order of precedence was seen at the Commonwealth Fashion week reception at Buckingham Palace which was hosted jointly by Kate and Sophie, with Princess Beatrice also attending. Beatrice tagged along for the formal greetings in the ante room and took third place behind Kate and Sophie. Film of the event showed Beatrice trying to follow Kate and Sophie as they led the way through to the exhibits and she was prevented from joining them by a member of staff who blocked her way and directed her through another entrance.

      • Nic919 says:

Beatrice ranks above Kate and Sophie when their husbands aren’t there. She didn’t walk in with them because she wasn’t there as a patron. If she was there in a formal capacity she outranks both.

And Sophie outranks Kate as a wife of the sovereign’s son who at this time is only a wife of a sovereign’s grandson.

Kate probably pulled a fit but on her own she doesn’t outrank Sophie. Maybe that’s what happenEd with Beatrice as well, because there is no way Kate outranks Beatrice when William isn’t there. The order of precedence specifically states that Beatrice and Eugenie outrank her when she’s on her own.

      • anotherlily says:

I hope this posts in the right place. Re the curtsying and blood princess thing. It seems to be one of those things that’s quoted so often, including by reputable sources that its gained a life of its own, like the Prince Charles toothpaste story.

        e.g from the Telegraph 2012
“A document is said to have been circulated privately in the Royal Household, clarifying Kate’s status. When the Order was last updated, after Prince Charles’s second marriage, in 2005, the Countess of Wessex was reported to be upset that she now had to curtsy to Camilla. “She didn’t like it one bit,” a senior courtier was quoted as saying. …. ……….. after Charles remarried, the Queen changed the Order of Precedence “on blood principles” so that neither Princess Anne nor Princess Alexandra, the granddaughter of George V, would have to curtsy to Camilla when her husband was not present. ………………………
………….Although the etiquette may seem arcane, it is taken very seriously by the Royal family, whose members bow and curtsy to each other in public and in private. A vivid illustration came after the Trooping the Colour ceremony last weekend, when Kate could be seen curtsying to Prince Philip on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.”
This article included nonsense like Sophie Wessex being above the wife of Prince Charles.

        1. “is said to” “was quoted as saying” = conjecture.

        2. There have been no occasions where any of the royals have been seen bowing or curtsying to each other except for bowing/curtsying to the Queen and Prince Philip. Kate curtsying to Prince Philip is not a ‘vivid illustration’ of her also curtsying to the York sisters.

        3. For private occasions and family occasions precedence follows the Queen’s closest relatives e.g. her husband, children and her first -cousins may come before her grandchildren and in-laws.

The Yorks behave like pantomime characters which is what fuels much of the fantasy. The sisters were brought up believing that being a princess was a job in itself and they expected to be included in the official royal workforce. They, and their father, have never fully accepted that they have no such role. Their disconnection from reality was illustrated with Eugenie’s wedding. They really believed it was as important and popular as Harry’s wedding. The cameras showed the embarrassing truth in the deserted Long Walk and empty streets. The eventual ‘crowd’ amounted to around 3,000 in the town centre in contrast to 100,000 for Harry’s wedding.

  2. Priscila says:

    Jeez…double comment!

  3. Sofia says:

Okay there are now several versions of “Kate cried” story

    1) It was about tights
    2) It was about hemlines
    3) Meghan was mean and Kate cried
    4) Meghan was mean but Kate didn’t cry but got emotional
    5) It never happened
    6) Kids were being fussy (linked to 1) – 5) )
    7) If people believe the royalfoibles article, Kate was crying because of William and Rose

    Did I miss any?

    • BayTampaBay says:

I really do not believe any of this, as it is ALL the DM trying to generate click$, but if you held a gun to my head and forced me to make choice, I would go with option #7.

    • Talie says:

7 seems the most likely in a roundabout way – her household would’ve had a lot of tension around that time so it makes sense if she was a bit turned up at the smallest details.

Nevertheless, the story has changed too much and it was effectively used to smear Meghan’s reputation. When I read recently that Meghan told Kate her flowers weren’t enough, I’m sure what she was saying was that she expected her sister-in-law to help in shutting this mess down.

    • bluemoonhorse says:

      8) Kate cried because the event wasn’t all about her her and she’s a biyatch?

    • MsIam says:

I’ll add number 9. That Kate cried out of jealousy that her “third wheel” who paid attention to her and treated her politely and like a person with feelings was gone. No more Harry as her buffer.

      • Mel M says:

Lol I’ll hop on board with that one. When you look at pics of the three of them from years past Kate and Harry always seemed to have a lot more fun with each other and enjoying each others company more than either of them with baby Wills.

I also find it ridiculous that anyone is still pushing this idiotic crying story. I’m sorry but I would be embarrassed if that was being done for me. A woman in her late 30s with literally the most privileged life in the world crying about anything at a stupid dress fitting for her daughter for someone else’s wedding is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. And the fact that during this time when most are out of work and people are struggling to pay rent or for food they are still pushing this spoiled brat story shows you how utterly out of touch they are. Why would anyone feel sorry for Kate right now as she frolics around her palaces with acres of land and is still shopping for insanely expensive ugly dresses. Give me a freakin break.

    • Mary says:

      10) Kate cried at the fitting

      11) Kate cried after the fitting

    • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

      12) Kate cried afterward out of humiliation, because she tried pulling rank but only succeeded in making an ass of herself in front of everyone?

  4. jbyrdku says:

Harry’s face in that second photo is amazing. You know he’s watching the freeze happen in real time and he both can’t believe it’s happening/isn’t down with that shit.

    • OriginalLala says:

I was just going to say the same thing – you can just see the shock on his face. That family is so vile.

    • bluemoonhorse says:

JMO but right there you see that it was Harry who made the decision to leave. This is him looking at Meg thinking WTF do these whacko relatives of mine are doing? No way is he coming back. His best revenge is living well (and far far away).

      • BnLurkN4eva says:

He’s looking at Meghan knowing he made the right decision to get them the heck out of there. Meghan looked serene, but underneath you know she was in pain at the indignities she had to endure with a smile. Harry knows this and can’t control his expression and keep the pain off his face because of what his wife had to endure for loving him. I feel so bad for both of them. It must be such a surreal thing to live through this whole thing for them both.

    • Couch potato says:

I’m not a lip reader, but it was clear from one clip that he reacted to Williams greeting. I think he said “he only said Harry – let’s go”, or “let’s get out of her” or something, and Meghan calmed him down.

  5. souperkay says:

wow that photo of them walking, Meg with her serene smile but her eyes staring daggers at the back of William’s head. Harry, with such a serious expression and Kate with that non-smile smile. That really does speak volumes about how broken things are between the brothers.

    • osito says:

From watching the video at the time, I wouldn’t say she was staring daggers — she waved and smiled a bit, William sort of did a head nod, Kate was awful, and the (Wessexes?) couple next to them quickly leaned in to speak to Kate. From the video, it looked like she waited a beat, definitely noticed the snub, but did not waver for a second from being calm and super composed. She likely knew that if she didn’t literally levitate a thousand feet over this whole petty situation that she would be labeled the bad guy even though it was abundantly clear that she was behaving appropriately in this moment. I admire that so much in anyone — even with therapy, I cry when I’m *really* angry (thanks mom for not letting me express negative emotions in a healthy way as a kid! 🙃), and I’m much more of a Harry, wearing my emotions all over every inch of my face.

    • Alexandria says:

I’d say Meg is used to the viper pit of Hollywood and the Markles, so she is a pro. Harry wears his heart on his sleeve. But I think it double hurt because Harry NEVER shows a black face to his sister in law. It’s William who always looks annoyed or indifferent to her. So it hurt Harry a lot.

      • Imogene says:

“NEVER shows a black face to his sister in law.”

        what does that mean?

      • Alexandria says:

Imogene, I am sorry. In some parts of Asia “showing a black face” phrase means to show an angry sullen face, like a darkened sky before a downpour. It has no relation to putting on black face paint and is not a slur for black people, although I am aware there are still slurs some Asian people use. NONETHELESS, I was careless and this can be offensive. I am sorry and will be more mindful.

      • Feeshalori says:

Alexandria, l understood what you meant but thank you for your explanation.

  6. Smices says:

It may not have been a place to build bridges but it was a place to be professional, paste on a smile and do your job, rather than indulging in bitchy mean girl behavior. The day was supposed to be about the Commonwealth, not petty grudges. Save the snubs and silent treatment for later.

    • Laura says:

Seriously! What a stupid excuse. It absolutely is a place for some polite recognition and a “hello”, not a complete freeze out. So dumb.

    • Becks1 says:

Bingo! No one expected Kate and William to rush over to hug the Sussexes or whatever. But I also don’t think anyone expected Kate to be a total bitch either.

    • Alexandria says:

Kate professional? It’s been ten years plus and she is still woefully unprepared for her outings .

      • Anance says:

Kate was more prepared for her outings earlier in the marriage. She has devolved, probably due to insecurity about William’s infidelity. And, deep suppressed rage.

The precedent set Charles, that he can remarry and make the next wife Queen augurs badly for her position.

Given her precarious situation, she directs her rage at the happy wife of the younger son. A woman who would outrank her if she lost her HRH thru a divorce.

    • L84Tea says:

They will rue the day, particularly Kate I think, that they openly behaved so poorly for the whole world to see at the CW ceremony. That moment is going to come back and haunt them, and justifiably bite them in their petty asses.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Yes, she drew the curtain back and showed her true self. This will be one of those defining moments that will follow the Cambridges forever. Whatever happens to come in the future, this is already clear- no one will forget this.

      • Alexandria says:

L84TEA, IMHO the BRF will definitely use that Commonwealth moment when they need the necessary narrative if William divorces her.

      • Nic919 says:

It’s captured forever. It was easy to dismiss the behind the scenes stories that percolated for years about her mean girls behaviour. That video is irrefutable and for what, not walking in a procession. Did she ever give pedo Andy the same stink eye? Says a lot about her.

      • Becks1 says:

And its on VIDEO. Its easy to explain away pictures sometimes – they’re a snapshot, a moment in time, one picture someone looks grumpy and in the next they look perfectly happy – but this was on video, we all saw it happen, there were multiple cameras on Kate, and she behaved like THAT.

Also remember (again a video) from Christmas Day this year, where she smiled to the queen and then her expression immediately snapped back to looking miserable.

      • Dl says:

I truly hope you are right and no one ever let’s this be forgotten. I still look at this with my mouth hanging open in disbelief

      • anotherlily says:

You’re right. The facial expressions speak volumes.

I watched the service live. Some bits get edited out of the videos of these occasions. Harry’s face shows his emotions. He’s one of those people who can laugh with their eyes. He looked like thunder that day and there was no disguising his disgust at William and Kate.

The Wessexes, especially Prince Edward, were openly friendly to Meghan. Edward engaged in animated conversation with her for a noticeable time and drew Harry in. Sophie had to lean round Edward to speak to Meghan but she did join in. When the Cambridges arrived there was no greeting to the Sussexes but they engaged with the Wessexes. Harry’s look of horrified disgust seems to be directed at Kate and whatever she is saying to Sophie.

When Charles and Camilla arrived with the Queen, Meghan curtsied twice, to the Queen and then, with a beaming smile, to Prince Charles.

It was obvious that all was not well with this family and it detracted from the service. My own feeling is that the Queen should have stepped back or abdicated completely when Philip retired. Charles has a much better grasp of what is needed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sussexes return to an official role in the future. There is huge potential with an Anglo-American branch of the royal family.

    • HeatherC says:

The Future Future Queen Consort who will single handedly save the British Monarchy and be the bestest queen consort ever…..and pulls this on a televised event knowing it was being televised.

Again, what is the purpose of the monarchy in Britain (American here)? Soft diplomacy? If she can’t fake a pleasant expression for a family member, how can she apply the keenest of soft diplomacy as the bestest queen ever to a horrid head of state?

And the being driven to tears by the Mean Black Duchess because she’s such a delicate English Rose is NOT a good look for any grown woman. Or even a 12 year old girl.

  7. julia says:

All of this is just so juvenile.

  8. MaryContrary says:

If she cried I’m guessing it’s because she was just a few weeks post-partum from having Louis and was hormonal and overtired.

    • Cerceau says:

Yes! Totally understandable if she cried over something trivial while postpartum. However, there is heaps of racism in how the story has been used to vilify Meghan.

    • S808 says:

And that’s totally plausible. The real problem comes with the fact that it was weaponized against Meghan and when she was pregnant. Kate or KP should’ve cleared this all up immediately

    • Alexandria says:

Again, if she cried due to these, she made herself cry. There is no need to drag another person into your narrative. She or her leaking courtiers dragged Meghan into it and refused to correct any misconception. Mean, immature 13 year old as your FFQ, there goes Katie Keen.

  9. Andrew’s Nemesis says:

Lies, lies, lies, more damned lies and endless victimhood, as Kaiser says. I wonder if they will ever be able to face the truth regarding their behaviour? Or have the courage and honesty, not to mention dignity, of acknowledging their faults? It doesn’t bode well for a FFK and FFQC to be so catastrophically unaware of the negative impact they are having on the general public. If they don’t sort themselves out, there’ll be a republic sooner rather than later.

  10. A says:

Maybe it’s just me but if I were Kate I really would want people to stop telling everyone I, a grown woman and future queen, cried over a dress fitting. That anyone could reduce me to tears like that. Sure it might make people think Meghan’s mean but what the hell does it say about Kate? Even if it was true, and I don’t believe for one second it is, I’d deny it flat.

    • My3cents says:

      Exactly.
Having people talk about you crying after two years over some none issue is a great disservice.
It just feeds into the infantilizing of Kate, but hey that’s what the narrative has been all along.

      • molly says:

YES! I’ve cried over small stuff in my life, and every time my only wish is for people to NOT TALK ABOUT IT.

  11. Florence says:

Lol, Ed ‘n’ Sophie in that picture. Whose nose will reach the Cambridge rear first? Lmao.

    • Lady D says:

You can literally see the desperation to be noticed on Sophie’s face. I mean, literally. And how fast she was to lean forward to respond to Kate? Such obsequiousness from a 50+ hard working woman. I wonder if Kate smirks about it in private, or does she just assume that’s how life should be?

      • Florence says:

Personally, I think Keen both relishes AND feels she deserves such bowing and scraping. Future Future Kweens must be deferred to!

(Autocorrect changed that to “Karen must be fettered”. Wow, prescient. Good luck wearing your shackles – I mean crown, Kate :))

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Sophie is so embarrassing, I can’t believe they tried to float her as a replacement for Meghan.

      • Nic919 says:

Kate loves the attention. That’s how pathetic she is.

    • PrincessK says:

      😆😆

  12. Intheknow says:

Harry’s too much of a gentleman but he’s done active military duty and could very well send William and his Wandering Sceptre screaming to hide in the rose bushes. Sometimes you just gotta go direct at your bullies. My older sister is like this. Spoiled and just a nasty piece of work…until one day a fist to the face gave her some perspective.

  13. Original Penguin says:

What I see happened might have been- Meghan was excited at getting married and gushing about Harry. Kate gets emotional at the thought of her own marriage Issues and starts crying. Nothing to do with Meghan all to do with Willnot. Only it happened in the general vicinity of Meghan therefore everyone (the courtiers) blamed her

    • greenmonster says:

And Kate never did anything to stop them. She could have spun the story to her own advantage… “Seeing Meghan so happy made me think of my wedding and I got all emotional and cried.” or “I could just tell how excited Meghan was to marry Harry and how much she loves him. I am beyond happy, that Harry found his love.” Easy. Makes her look sympathetic and nice. With this she could have even set the groundwork for getting back at William for cheating. But Kate didn’t, because she is an idiot and all she cares about is becoming QC one day. She can cosplay Diana all she wants, but she will never have her wit and smart moves.

      • (TheOG) jan90067 says:

Don’t forget how this Karen, asked for a statement when H&M announced they were expecting, couldn’t say how excited she was for them, but said: “Absolutely. It’s such a special time to have little kiddies. And a cousin for George and Charlotte, as well, and Louis. It’ll be really special.”

        “It’ll be special…”

I remember thinking, “I hope she didn’t strain/sprain her brain coming up with such an effusive comment!”

    • C-Shell says:

Add to that the jealousy that Karen felt/feels that Harry loves someone else — a gorgeous, intelligent, accomplished woman — that he *did not* choose to stay in the role of her play thing, and that would be a potent cocktail of frustrated disappointment.

  14. Lyn says:

Good god, this is version 5 or 6 on this so called incident from KP. Now its not in front of Meghan? According to Omid everyone present at that fitting said nothing happened, so where did this Kate crying moment happen and what does it have to do with Meghan?

Thy are keeping it vague now and set away from the ppl that were there bc they realise those present are now talking and can embarass KP publicly.

They need to stop, its making Kate look even worse. She’s so insidious bc they deliberately targeted Meghan with hate.

    • A says:

According to the Fail, their sources state that it happened after the fitting. Not during, after. But even that is a change in the story from before, because before, this was not specified, the implication being that it happened during the fitting, in front of everyone else.

  15. aquarius64 says:

Laughing at all this because this has taken a wrecking ball to the Cambridge perfect image, an image created at the Sussexes ‘ expense. Gassing up the karma bas right now.

  16. Merricat says:

If there’s a burnt bridge in this, it’s Kate’s bridge to Harry. That first photo where Harry realizes she just cut Meghan, who is smiling (with some determination) in spite of it, says he’ll never forgive his sister-in-law. I feel sorry for Kate, who has been cutting off various noses to spite her face for years now, and for what? To be noseless and alone in the palace?

    • goofpuff says:

Oh yeah. The look on Harry’s face says it all. He is so done with them. OMG he is pissed, as he should be. I do love how Meghan is showing them how a true professional behaves. This is a work event and pettiness has no place in it.

      • Merricat says:

Yes. Meghan has the skills and, unfortunately, the experience to deal with this outrageous lack of basic manners, this lack of simple diplomacy. Harry wears his heart on his face (which is an hilarious image, but metaphorically true).

  17. Original Penguin says:

I think the photos from the service show how talented an actress Meghan is. Harry looks thunderous, as does William. Meghan looks beautifully calm and poised. Despite everything.

  18. Charfromdarock says:

This FF book really has the Cambridges panicking doesn’t it?

    • Sid says:

Yeah, not a peep when it came to the other 50-11 books that have recently been published, but with this one it is all hands on deck. I think KP and the Cambridges are realizing that Omid has a wide audience and has access to people who can tell the other side of the story for all the gossip bits that were leaked to make Meghan look bad. They are likely worried that those “other sides” will all be revealed in this book. And it won’t it look good for them.

  19. ziaaa says:

The 3 enlarged pics posted in this thread are so interesting in their portrayal of this family’s dynamic.

    1) Group wedding photo – Kate trying to slant her body as far away from Meghan and Doria so that she may not…you know why!

    2) Harry’s look at Meghan of “How can you remain calm in the face of such racist bitchery?!?!”

    3) Harry again ready to bolt but somehow keeping it together after being forced to walk in tandem with a gaggle of racists, i.e. his own royal family.

Also, for someone like Harry who wears his emotions upfront, Meghan’s serene persona does seem to have a calming effect on him.

    • Nic919 says:

Kate’s sour face in the formal wedding photo is pretty bad too. She does hyena grins for everything else and could have made an effort here. Her bitch face is captured for posterity.

  20. taylor says:

I honestly resent that this book was ever made. Because, surprising no one, it’s just resulted in more abuse being hurled at Meghan. Can she catch a freaking break?

    • Ennie says:

There are two or three other books attacking them out. The authors and their ideas are being praised by people who hate H and M. Many people and even foreign outlets who just follow gossip are using those lines.
This strikes a balance, IMO, and hateful media cannot stand it.

    • windyriver says:

Another way to look at it is, these attacks are demonstrating that what the book describes about the way things went on is, in fact, true. Seriously, Kate rolled out the red carpet for Meghan, the proof is – she cooked her a vegan meal! Meghan absolutely made Kate cry; you didn’t believe our first six excuses, let’s try #7!

Their core followers will believe anything they’re told, but plenty of people aren’t that stupid and will see how silly this is starting to sound. The palaces and the family have zero control over what’s in this book and they are in full panic mode.

    • Nic919 says:

This book is freaking out the establishment big time and I love it. Sure Meghan and Harry are getting attacked but they are always getting attacked. At least now there is more information about just how bad the courtiers and the Cambridges have been. Many people will be reading about their antics which was not the case before. Sunlight always proves beneficial.

    • windyriver says:

It will also be available fairly quickly in multiple languages, including Dutch (8/11), Spanish and Greek (8/12), French (8/13) and Italian (8/27), according to Omid’s Twitter. Watching how this plays out should be really something.

      • Nic919 says:

How many of these royal books ever get translated? I a, thinking not many.

Anyway I hope Omid rakes in cash because he’s put up with racist crap himself from these courtiers.

  21. Becks1 says:

I am back to thinking she cried or got upset (maybe just after the fitting, not during it) and its clear the reason for it is something that makes Kate look bad, which is why there are so many shifting narratives around it. And its silly, bc from the beginning the story could have been “Kate was postpartum, exhausted, emotional etc and cried, but it had nothing to do with Meghan.” Instead we get all the different stories – she cried, she didn’t cry, the fitting was fine, the fitting was stressful, tights, hemlines, etc. So I’m assuming the real story isn’t coming out because it reflects poorly on Kate.

  22. anniefannie says:

I’ve always felt the reason Kate snubbed H and M on Commonwealth day was because of the iconic photos published of them in the rain w/ the umbrella and the kind of press she wishes she and her dullard husband could generate.
Oy, give up the dream, not going to happen

    • MsIam says:

Me too. That and when they wore the coordinated red at the military event, it was just too much for Kate. She knew she would never have that and it just blew her petty little mind. I guess she thought Meghan and Harry would come slinking back into the country looking all woebegone instead of like they were on top of the world. Also, no one was impressed with her green on green Irish tour outfits so there was that as well.

      • L84Tea says:

I agree 100% with this and I said so at the time. Meghan and Harry–especially Meghan–got a lot of fantastic press that weekend. H&M looked like a team, Meghan took everyone’s breath away with those blue and red dresses, and they got an ICONIC photo taken of them that first night. Even the BM was dazzled by her and there was no denying it. Meanwhile, W&K’s Irish tour was a total dud complete with Kate looking frumpy and desperate. By the day of the CW, I think Kate was seething with the deepest, ugliest kind of jealousy that weekend towards Meghan.

      • February-Pisces says:

A few days after her ‘you could of had a bad bitch farewell tour’ as Kaiser calls it, there was a blind item on that trash site that I shall not name saying how Meghan is jealous of kate beauty. MEGHAN JEALOUS OF KATE BEAUTY???? Lol, I’m still laughing 😂😂😂

I wonder who sent that one in 🤔?

      • windyriver says:

I agree. Talked about this a bit yesterday; when Meghan showed up in those vivid clothes, we said it hit home why she’d previously been dressing in lots of olive, navy, tan, etc. during her royal engagements. She was done with that. The wardrobe was a statement, and hit Kate especially right where it hurts.

I still suspect that fabulous caped green dress at the CW ceremony, right after W&K’s lackluster Irish tour, which they presumably went on to 1) avoid spending time with H&M, and/or 2) to (try to) steal the focus from H&M’s last visit, was another reason for Kate’s sour face. Don’t necessarily think Meghan chose green on purpose, since if I recall the Irish tour was arranged last minute, but ouch.

      • L84Tea says:

@windywiver, I never thought about the green dress from that aspect, but wow, you’re right. It was definitely a coincidence that she’d chosen to wear green since it was obviously selected ahead of time and the Irish tour was a last minute announcement, but the fact that she was there looking so fabulous and confident in her bright green frock only 24-48 hours after Kate appeared abysmally in what resembled a green tin foil dress–YOUCH!!

      • February-Pisces says:

I think during her time in the royal mafia Meghan toned down her slay to 40%, but still looks amazing. During the ‘bad bitch farewell tour’ to took it up a notch to around 70% on the ‘slay-o-meter’. She’s been holding her back, but I would to love to see her crank it to whole 100%. I’m taking Oscar red carpet levels of slay. That would be amazing, and I would love to see Kate’s sour face after that.

      • windyriver says:

@L84Tea – remember too, the picture of Meghan in the blue dress, under the umbrella with Harry, appeared everywhere, worldwide – there were even interviews with the photographer about how he was able to capture the sparkling raindrops surrounding them.

Then, a couple of days later, Kate is photographed on a “random” errand buying children’s books – wearing a very similar blue colored coat and turtleneck.

So yeah, I doubt she took kindly to Meghan’s green dress, on top of everything else.

    • Yvette says:

Agreed. I said this back in March. It just felt to me at the time that Kate’s sour, snobby attitude and resting B&tch face toward the Sussexes was due in a large part to the fact that Meghan rocked the Sh$t out of her fashions over that weekend and was incredibly beautiful doing so.

      • Nic919 says:

Kate never is the most beautiful woman in the room when Meghan is around and it kills her.

      • windyriver says:

In not that many years the Cambridge kids will transition from being useful PR props for their parents, to the main focus of interest in their own right, as happens when the new generation grows up. I don’t see Kate handling that well.

      • HeyJude says:

@windyriver Yes, I don’t think either Kate nor William will deal well when they have young, much better looking and much more charismatic Prince George and Princess Charlotte (you can tell the kids are far more interesting already) coming into teenage years and young adulthood stealing their spotlight. It’s going to be clash of the titans- future headstrong Kings face-off George vs. Will, and battle of the only 2 women Kate vs. Charlotte (I never thought this one would be a problem, but Kate will be very threatened by a younger, prettier princess, I’m sure).

      • February-Pisces says:

I feel sorry for George’s and Louis future brides. Kate is not gonna handle it well and she will literally be the mother in law from hell. But they she will be quite old too.

    • MerryGirl says:

Agree with everyone’s analysis above but I have one more to add. Don’t forget Meghan’s appearance at the Robert Clack school for International Women’s Day – the impact she had on those students and excitement she created among the younger generation, no other Royal could match. The boy who kissed her and several other students were all interviewed afterwards…add this to the amazing outfits that weekend and Kate was fit to be tied.

      • Nic919 says:

The students who admitted they expected it to be kate but were super excited it was Meghan. Yup that’s gotta hurt.

      • L84Tea says:

I LOVED that outfit she wore. She was the epitome of chic.

      • Tealie says:

@Nic919 That little girl was so funny, a girl after my own heart. She really said ‘umm i saw a bit of the hair i thought it was gonna be you know, kate… BUT then she fully came out the car and i saw it was MEGHAN! And i was so excited because inlove her”
I noticed they even cut the full video when it was shown on BBC news 💀. I know that hit hard, especially because SHE is meant to be the one working with kids and i have never seen kids that excited or relaxed to meet her.

  23. Lizzie says:

These excerpts really are Christmas in July for Sussex fans.
Ever since this was reported I’ve thought there is literally nothing mean enough that saying it would make me cry. I guess if someone said my kids were ugly and stupid I would make a really strong reply. If someone said I was a bad mother I might panic and think oh no or I might tell them to eff off. I just cannot picture crying. And I am a cryer! Weddings, movies, babies, it is quite embarrassing how much I cry.
I just don’t know if this was made up out of thin air or was it a cover. Maybe there was talk of Will leaving and Kate was seen crying but report it was due to Meghan and involve Charlotte just to make it look just as mean as possible.

  24. Desdemona says:

I’m sorry but this story already stinks…. sheeessshhhhhhh… She cried, she didn’t cry… oh for crying out loud, how old are they, two???????

  25. Alexandria says:

I’ll say it again. If Kate had her issues during the fitting, then she made herself cry!

  26. TheOriginalMia says:

The Karens are at it again. The mean black duchess made Kate the Saint cry. Or did she? One day it’s true. The next it isn’t. Seeing as the vipers don’t have clean hands and are repeating a pattern of abuse in smearing Meghan to embiggen Kate, I don’t think there’s any truth to this story. Once again, Kate is infantized to garner sympathy and support. It’s not a good look for an almost 40 yo mother of 3.

  27. Vanessa says:

At this point I think kate did cry but not for the reasons kate and the courtiers wants the British tabloids to believe happen. I believe Kate cried because she found out about William affair with Rose and being at dress fitting for a wedding with someone she already didn’t like was too much for precious kate . I think the courtiers saw this and decided to run to the daily mail and started a rumor about Meghan making kate cry knowing that they wouldn’t have to go into much details. If the Cambridge’s and the courtiers keep pushing this stupid story the real story will come out.

  28. Lemons says:

Palace courtiers…you suck at your job. Thank goodness Meghan and Harry, two capable adults, did not take your advice on how to organize their wedding or their work. We see how DISASTROUS you have been for the royal family. Look at Andrew! You guys okay’d his trainwreck interview and were ready to throw a party in his honor!

For once, just OWN it. Say you’re terrible at your jobs, but great at kissing A**…oops, I mean the ring. You’re racist AF and want everyone to stop acting like it’s a bad thing (it is!). Just say you prefer not doing much with the Dolittles instead of conceiving projects with tangible results for the royal patronages. Why is that so had? Stop running to the tabloids to refute things that are o clearly true.

You can’t have your MeGain cake and eat it too.

  29. a says:

I can totally identify with the expression on Meghan’s face from the Commonwealth Day pictures – it comes off as composed and polite, but I think there’s also a strong dose of “Oh, this is how it’s going to be, is it? Fine with me – I’m out and you F*ckers are stuck here with each other. Hahahahaha.” That’s the face of a woman who was not taking anyone’s BS, and was enjoying the moment when they’ve finally figured it out.

    • Yvette says:

LOL! Yep, her face absolutely screams “Do your worse, B$tches, because I’m SO our of here!”

    • Couch potato says:

And a dose of “yeah bitch, you revealed your horrible behaviour on national tv”

  30. February-Pisces says:

Kate probably started balling her eyes out when she saw Meghans wedding dress, she had always dreamed of wearing that to Harry’s wedding.

But seriously how is kate not embarrassed, constantly playing the victim. Where is her pride? Why is she such a weak willed woman. I’ve cried at some stupid things in my time, but always feel silly about 5 minutes later.I most certainly so go on about it 2 years later. If she hoping we feel sorry for her, we don’t. I also wonder how many times Meghan has cried over the last three years over the things kate has done?

Anyway what happened to ‘tightsgate’? Or have they decided to re-write this lie for the 12th time.

    • Florence says:

That’s the problem, I think – someone who made themselves a silent call-girl for a petulant Prince has zero pride. Someone who went to the same university, made themselves into the image of what HE likes, someone who let HIM pay for her parents’ house… no pride or shame.

Side note, I saw your tarot comment yesterday and was intrigued, FP! I’m a March Pisces – so maybe I am William’s mystery future queen? :p

Nah, Rose is welcome to him 🙂

      • February-Pisces says:

Lol, if it is you better start running now! If you have any tarot request just let me know. X

    • A says:

I’ll bet that Kate probably had a difficult time wrangling the kids, since they weren’t exactly co-operating, and she cried because of that. It happens. My mom’s done it too. Kids can be frustrating little creatures, and I know I’ve been driven to tears, and I’m not even a parent.

  31. Ennie says:

I’d cry, too after hitching the carriage to PWT and seeing that her crush was getting married.

  32. bettyrose says:

I realize Kate and I probably don’t have much in common, but in her place I would be so humiliated by this story. It’s one thing to have a blurb that quickly disappears about her postpartum hormones making her a bit emotional during that time period; it’s another to have a story lingering for *years* that Meghan made her cry. I know it’s intended to make Meghan look bad, but as a thirtysomething mother of three and not a toddler herself, small inconveniences/disagreements should not be making her cry. That just isn’t an adult level of emotional development.

  33. Intheknow says:

When William finally dumps Kate (or his affairs public and THEY WILL, WilliLeaks) Kate will have no support or friends. The Toffs don’t want her and made it clear to her.

You know something…Kate’s behaviour at The Common Wealth service shows us EXACTLY who Kate really is. AND This is why Rose Hansbury bitch slapped her hard and the reason for Tatler Article. Think about, Kate probably tried to pull the shit she did at the Common Wealth Service with the Toffs. 100% she did. Tried to freeze someone out and got all snooty and they weren’t having it and reminded her she is nothing to them including to William and they can and will choose William over her when the time comes.

I don’t know how she sleeps at night being so disposbable. She isn’t making any allies. William is his father’s son in every meaning of the phrase. Diana wouldn’t have made it the throne had she lived because Charles wasn’t inlove with her. Kate will not make it the throne because William isn’t in love with her. Once Diana had the heir and spare, all bets were off and they all treated her badly. Kate isn’t smart enough to realize what is happening to her.

    • bettyrose says:

Interesting comparison between Diana & Kate. Diana was as old school aristo as it gets, but she was so young and didn’t have a close family to help her through the bad times. Still, had she lived, I think Diana would have persevered. Imagine Diana in her 40s with older children and more self confidence, a title in her own right and independent wealth.

Now, Kate in her 40s, not an aristo and having as of yet not displayed much self assurance in her role. What happens is she gets pushed out? In theory, she does have a close, supportive family, but what happens if she’s divorced in scandal?

    • Desert Lizard says:

I don’t think he will dump Katie Keen. She is willing to put up with anything he says or does in order to be on the throne. She is the best William will ever do. She can look presentable in that FFQ sister-wife way of hers and she will never raise a public fuss about him. She will not complain about Will to the media or tell all in a book. She will endure his cheating and emotional abuse as long as she has to. She was raised with one goal in mind and if she leaves before she gets the crown, I don’t know if her close, loving family will recover from that.

      • Intheknow says:

@bettyrose: I think Diana would have flourished and continued to eclipse Charles and the monarchy had she lived. Kate’s parents are also aging/older and wont live forever. If she gets pushed out, it wont matter how close they all are. Also, how ‘close’ and loving/nurturing can you be if you raised your daughter like that??? I think the closeness is there from a strategic (marry well) perspective, but not in a way that matters.

@desert; this is my opinion only 🙂 I think it is very very possible he will dump Future Keen Katie Kween . Why? Let’s look at Charles…Charles cheated on Diana all through out the marriage because he didn’t love her.

After Diana passed away, he dated and married the woman he was in love with and (presumably) has never cheated on Camilla since they got together and married. I also think Camilla (and good for her) wouldn’t put up with Charles’ cheating! So he knows not to even try..I think if William were to end up with someone he was passionately in love with a) he likely wouldn’t feel the need to cheat and b) the aristo wife wouldn’t stand for it and William would comply. Since Kate has been a doormat literally for years, Willy cheats because he wants to, he’s not in love with her, and what she thinks of his cheating doesn’t matter and it wont deter him.

People want different things as they age. And even Penis With Teeth William could wake up one morning and decide he wants the next half of his life to be with someone he loves vs someone who stalked him for 10 yrs. He may decide he wants someone he respects. And I strongly suspect it is Ma Middleton keeping that marriage together and when Ma Middy passes away Kate could be out sooner than she expects.

The precedence is there with William’s own father a divorcee becoming King. The stigma of divorce is not as bad as when Petty Betty became Queen.

I expect a few yrs from now ‘I am bored with racism’ William will be even more bored with his wife and the media will not be muzzled about his affairs for much longer. Something will have to give. Will Kate live with public humiliation for ever?? Or will he dump her and move on for his sake, her sake and the kids’ sake? He’s a selfish thoughtless man, I think he will dump her when Betty is gone. He doesn’t give a shit about Charles….

Again, my opinion only..and sorry for the rant 😀

    • A says:

You are on the money with Rose Hanbury. Good grief. I’m not saying Rose is all that great, considering how poorly she herself has behaved, cheating on her husband with a married man. But the crowd that she’s in, the aristocrats, put an extraordinary premium on appearances and politeness. Snubbing people like this simply “isn’t done.” You grit your teeth, smile, and act graciously towards your husband’s mistress, regardless of what (or who) she does.

It makes sense, in a way, because the aristo crowd is so small and incestuous, that you can’t really leave much room for such jealousy. Everyone has dated everyone and everyone else. Rose’s sister, Marina, was dating her now-husband’s grown son, before she dated and married her husband (that whole story itself is whack, but I digress). I’m loathe to defend a cheater like Rose, obviously, but people play nice with each other because the crowd is small, so icing someone out is felt much more deeply.

And if Kate treated Rose like how she treated Meghan? With even a fraction of the sort of disdain and loathing? And what’s worse, by trying to get all of Rose’s own friends to shun her in the process? Yeah. No wonder Rose leaked that sh-t to teach Kate a lesson.

  34. manda says:

She probably was crying but over nothing that had to do with meghan at all. Probably jealous that meghan was marrying the cute one who actually does stuff.

    • bettyrose says:

HA! Yeah, I could see crying over not getting to keep Harry on as a flirty third wheel.

  35. KinChicago says:

When my sister was post-partum, a Fruity Pebbles cereal commercial “but he’s hungry!” made her cry.
Hormones can take over. It Is o erwjelming, can be awkward, embarrassing and frankly, should be compassionately forgiven and swept under a rug. This is ridiculous, villainizing, petty.

  36. Jane's Wasted Talent says:

I literally snorted at the attempt to deflect ‘vipers.’ It is absolutely the mot juste for a cackle of courtiers.* It would never even occur to me that a biker gang might call themselves the ‘Vipers,’ and if they did, it would be the sissiest biker gang imaginable. I guess this shouldn’t be too surprising, though, coming from people who are frequently wringing their hands over ‘knife crime.’

    * Not the proper name for a group of courtiers, but it would be fun to come up with something specific (and terribly insulting)- like how a group of crows is a ‘murder.’ I know you ladies here could come up with some hilarious suggestions.

    • February-Pisces says:

Those ‘vipers’ think they’re the ‘T-birds’ in Grease lol. I think it’s time the t-birds were named and shamed. They seem to hide behind their moustaches whilst they are slandering people and ruining their lives. I’ll google them personally and just see exactly who they are, when I can be bothered.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

This is a great idea. They’re all ‘toffs’, but their individual backgrounds and alliances could prove very educational. I’m sure there are tons of evidence of racism that could be exposed and used to discredit them, for example.

      • February-Pisces says:

@jane I know one of the queens advisors supported the age of consent being lowered to just 4 years old. 4 YEARS OLD. I can’t remember his name. That’s just one asshole, I can only imagine what the rest of them are like.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

WHAT?!? That’s worse than Mountbatten! At least in theory. And his family hasn’t locked him up, instead he’s working at Buck House?

Who is this? I have to know- do you think you could find him again?

And I’m sure you’re right, and there are more. Imagine the field day our media would have, learning this information…

      • February-Pisces says:

His name was lord justice fulford. He supported a peado group that tried to legalise raping children called PIE. He was also a high court judge. I bet he was one of the queens favourite advisors. They’re probably all like this guy.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Thank you. Going to look him up now.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Alright, so the articles I found (BBC and Guardian) state that he was cleared after an investigation, and that this claim originated with a Daily Mail series that was attempting to link liberal politicians with a UK pedophile group from the 70’s that tried to barge its way into the gay civil rights movement, similar to NAMBLA here. Since the DM is a reeking sinkhole of right-wing filth, and unless there are credible sources (?), it seems likely that Fulford is innocent.

    • SnowQueenM says:

YES. The fact that the courtiers associate the word “vipers” with a cartoon gang from West Side Story really reveals how silly and out of touch they are with everything.

The viper is a predator; it can hurt you. More importantly, at least in popular fiction, it is in the animals’ nature to //want// to hurt you. It can lay in wait, in the grass, for years and years, even lull you into a false sense of security… But it’s waiting to strike, and it will.

I assume that this is what the original reference was going for, but for the Victorian-era courtiers, they pick the goofiest interpretation-deflection possible. Like, good lord! You can’t even stop looking ridiculous when people try to give you a good insult!

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

That was the perfect description of the classic symbolism of a viper- of which those courtiers are fully aware. Although it seems they didn’t realize how many others are aware of this too. Like you said, they just make themselves look ridiculous with their clownish, screamingly obvious deflections.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

(I would like to take a moment to add to anyone from CH or the Prince’s Trust who may be reading this- my ire {and that of many people} is directed at the KP employees specifically, and being American, I’m just using ‘courtiers’ as a sort of shorthand. It seems as though the quality of staff mirrors the quality of their employers, in regards to the different palaces.)

  37. A Guest says:

Dang, why continue to die on this hill? Nobody but the most devoted Meghan-haters believes this anymore.

Even saying something like “Meghan was stressed out, Kate was hormonal, everybody took a minute to breath. It happens with wedding planning, no hard feelings” would have been better.

Keen is a bitter, jealous, petty, lazy woman. She has zero coping skills and I would actually fear for her mental health if/when Willie’s “gardening activities” hit the front page.

    • A says:

They’re invested in this because it makes Kate look good. It makes her look like the poor, innocent, put upon delicate flower, which in turn counters the stories about her piss poor behaviour towards Meghan. Goodness knows, the endless fuming about vegan dinners, red carpets, and hand delivered flowers aren’t doing much good.

  38. Mariane says:

The keenbridges are digging a bigger hole for themselves. You could tell they and their staff are so out of touch with reality that they think portraying kate as a karen is flattering!!!
The CW service pictures especially harry’s look at Meghan breaks my heart. Like he never thought they’d be this hateful. I bet he regrets saying “it’s the family she never had'” before the wedding😔
The firm will come to regret pushing them away. I doubt the sussexs will even fly to the UK to attend the summit or lizzy’s next birthday or Christmas reception. Its likely theyll first fly for the invictus games.
I honestly think they terminated their rental agreement for Frogmore and was probably delayed by covid to come pack up and ship their stuff. Charles will regret not reigning in NormalBill. With the sussexs gone and him wanting a slimmed down monarchy he’ll be in a precarious position to fill up roles and the keenbridges are unlikely to pick up the workload so…

  39. L4frimaire says:

Why are they so invested in this crying narrative, especially since it’s constantly changing? At this point, it looks immature and silly, and frankly desperate. Is this the only time that Kate has cried since 2018? As for the viper courtiers, they’re never going to admit they’re assholes, they already said in print that they signed up to serve Queen and country, not some “ cable tv actress”. The air freshener thing is another stupid thing. So yeah she got her air fresheners but some of them were complainIng about it behind the scenes. Why was this such a big deal? Worked up about scent diffusers? It was their wedding. So it got done but the staff didn’t like it,OMG? Why do they care so much about it? These people are petty and fixated on the most trivial thing. They did not want to do their job in a professional manner. They instead decided to condescend and complain. No one wants advice with a sneer. So far no one has come out and said anything is false and no one is threatening legal letters. Lots of “ but, but her attitude…we welcomed that American woman goddammit”. LOL these people suck.

    • blue36 says:

I actually don’t understand why they were upset about the air fresheners thing since there is precedent for it – Kate had the same company’s candles for her wedding?

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

Candles are timeless, air fresheners are new. That said, I still agree with the bulk of L4frimaire’s post.

      • L4frimaire says:

Candles are a fire hazard( I have a fear of open flames) . Also, those diffusers look really nice, not exactly your average Glade plug ins, just saying. I can’t believe they’re going on about that. Most weddings, people complain about the food and the bar. It’s tiresome and I’m sure that stupid tiara story will end up in the book as well. In a vacuum its silly and trivial wedding snark and shouldn’t have to be in this book or the news cycle, but it is, and it was used negatively, so it was refuted, because we all wanted to know.

  40. Coco says:

People cry. Crying is normal. Maybe Kate cried that day, maybe she didn’t. If she did, maybe it was related to something to do with Meghan and the wedding, maybe it wasn’t. Unless they can prove that Meghan is a sadist who enjoys watching people sob, and that she expressly went into the day’s interaction with Kate intending to drink Kate’s future queenly tears, then what is the big deal? Is Kate not an adult?
Really, has as much ink been spilled on any other tears in the history of the world?

  41. Rebecca says:

Are we just supposed to believe Meghan and Kate were the only two adults (besides Claire Waight Keller and her seamstresses) at this dress fitting? This is the first time I’m hearing that there were MORE children at the fitting, not just Charlotte.

I cannot see Benita Litt (2 daughters), Jessica Mulroney (1 Daughter) and, and Harry’s two goddaughters’ mothers not in attendance a the dress fitting. That’s SEVEN kids under seven. We’re supposed to believe these women just left their children (all under the age of seven) with Kate and Meghan? The youngest was TWO.

I say it happened and there was a bigger audience there to witness Kate’s histrionics, and a lot of grown women saw her for the fool she is and likely took note. Plus, in order of get ahead of any bad press, KP spun a vague enough story to paint Meghan as the aggressor who hurt Kate’s delicate feelings.

The likely reality? Old girl Kate was trying to throw her weight around and she got mad because she didn’t get her way.

    • Ella says:

Agree. I think Tights-gate happened but she cried privately out of personal humiliation which is why the others there were baffled. Kate tried to pin her tears on Meghan. Shouldn’t have meddled in someone else’s wedding prep in the first place.

    • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

I think this is by far the likeliest scenario. It also gives her added motive to try to blame Meghan, and to keep persisting with it for years, after the rage set in.

    • Nic919 says:

Nanny Maria was also there. Or the unidentified nannies they like to pretend don’t exist. She definitely had an extra one to watch Louis while nanny Maria was herding George and Charlotte at the wedding.

That’s a lot of witnesses for her alleged crying fit.

    • A says:

I agree with you completely, except I think all of this is the reason why Kate didn’t cry at the fitting at all. Notice what the Fail’s sources said. She cried AFTER the fitting. Not during. And as Finding Freedom explains, Kate didn’t cry at the fitting where Meghan, and all the other adults in the room, could see it happen. She cried at some point after, or at some tucked away corner where no one could see her, and then cobbled together this sh-tty story saying Meghan made her cry to make her look bad.

No wonder Meghan was flat out baffled by this sh-t, I would have been too. I’m really surprised Meghan didn’t hit back at her immediately after it happened, because I would have been like, “BITCH WHERE?? WHERE DID I MAKE YOU CRY? I DIDN’T SEE YOU CRY WHEN I WAS THERE!!!”

      • Ella says:

Possibly leads to ‘Meghan shouted at Kate’s staff’. I’m sure it was justified and involved Kate’s staff hurling racial slurs at Meghan.

  42. Ennie says:

If Late, sorry, Kate was worried about tights and hemlines why would that be? At least those are little kids, unlike her, that showed her as* multiple times, even in very formal occasions. Once is understandable, but, for real, What was her excuse?

  43. MA says:

Just because someone cries does not mean they are the victim.

    • Joanna says:

Good point. I’ve worked with someone who would attack and do shady things. When confronted, she would play the victim.

  44. Sara says:

The last two queens of England, Both the Queen Mother Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth II survived the bombing of their city all around them by Nazis during a world war. But for Kate the future future queen, it is very important to her to keep making it known that she cried once over kids’ tights at a wedding. Girl, stop. It’s embarrassing.

    • A says:

Both the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth, while they lived through a war, are also capable of being immensely petty and concerned about the smallest sh-t as well. The Queen Mother especially was notorious for being a class A b-tch and for intriguing and scheming her whole life. Even the publicity she garnered for visiting the bombed out parts of London was, in effect, an extremely potent PR jag. The Queen Mother would have been all over this tightsgate nonsense if it had happened in her time, trust me.

  45. JustMe says:

You mean you and Harry are actually getting married? For Real??? CRIES!

    • PrincessK says:

Yes, Kate realises and in sinks in that she will be overshadowed by Meghan for the rest of her life, and it is playing out now. She will forever be compared to Meghan no matter what. I really think she is in a miserable marriage and afraid of upsetting William. I keep saying that Kate does have power and l think that she will eventually rock the boat like all the other women because she has nothing at all to look forward to. Focus on her moves to be even more of a Stepford wife will intensify, and then under the strain of it all she will eventually crack….but which way?

      • Vava says:

I think so too, PrincessK. The minute Meghan entered the scene and demonstrated she was actually very good with people and public speaking, Kate freaked out. Along with her handlers and her husband because they, too, knew Kate could never in a million years do that. First thing Kate should do is ditch the phony accent.

      • A says:

Kate might be in a miserable marriage, but she will never leave. She will never divorce. She has nothing if she does. Her entire sense of self is based, not on her marriage to William, but on her desire to be Queen. She will hang on like a limpet until the bitter end, and she doesn’t care if William wants to be rid of her or not.

Remember when the Tatler called her Catherine the Great? That’s not for no reason. It wasn’t to mock her. Catherine the Great wasn’t even a Romanov. She wasn’t even born into the Russian royalty. She only married in. She was only ever supposed to be Queen consort. But she had her husband strangled, and became Queen.

That’s what Kate wants. She doesn’t care about William. William is just a means to an end. She wants to be Queen. She doesn’t care how it happens. She wants to live out her mother’s most deepest fantasy, because Carole has always been shunned by the aristocrats and she never got over herself for being born in a council flat. Carole desperately wants to stick it to the aristocrats, and Kate will make it happen for her, come hell or high water. William just happens to be the convenient vehicle for making it happen, but she would have used literally anyone else that she need to if she had to as well.

ETA: I’m not saying that I think Kate wants to strangle William and become Queen of Britain. I’m just saying that she doesn’t care about William, she only married him to be Queen, to be the mother of the next monarch, and to get the prestige that comes with those things. She doesn’t give a f-ck about anything else.

      • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

A- Now I have a comic picture in my head of Kate choking William, that manic grin on her face the whole time.

      • A says:

@Jane, aosdf;lasdfl;kafddsf, now I can’t get that picture out of my head either.

  46. The Recluse says:

I am so sick of William and Kate and the whole pack of them. So much so that I find myself hoping that these petty people sink the monarchy that they prize so greatly.
I hope Harry and Meg flourish wherever they go.

  47. NomNom says:

Maybe the Top CEO should focus more on making an effort to, I don’t know… WORK rather than trying to run someone else’s wedding. Crying over a dress fitting, pathetic! As a Canadian, I’m sickened by Kopy Kate and Normal Bill and no longer see any value in being a part of the Commonwealth.

  48. Guest with Cat says:

Okay, I get that this is about whether or not Kate cried. But when we talk about her bitchy behavior at the Commonwealth event, why do so many here act so satisfied that this will help enable William to dump her? Why does William keep getting off free in all of these discussions?

He’s the biggest, cruelest, most petty bitch of them all. He snubbed Meghan, too. In some ways his snub was worse because he highlighted it by greeting Harry, albeit grudgingly.

He’s the one to engineer most of the bullshit that happened amongst the four of them. Kate is a mean girl but I’m sick of seeing people root for William to dump her as if that’s the solution to righting all wrongs. They are both trash and both need to be taken down a peg. And anyone who is rooting for or favoring Rose Hanbury needs to remember she’s happily a cog in the racist elitist system and wouldn’t pee on any of us if we were on fire. Read up on her husband’s closest friendship sometime. These people use prestige and titles and philanthropy to cover their corruption like a perfume to cover the stench of mildew infested church.

I think the best punishment for both of them would be to stay put in their hellish partnership, until one or both of them wises up, gets therapy, and/or finds Buddha or Jesus or whatever it takes to transform themselves into a decent human being.

    • Vava says:

Bravo. Well said. I loathe the Cambridges at this point and it really turned at that Commonwealth event. Before that it was just mild disgust at some of the crap coming out of William’s mouth and Kate’s wardrobe malfunctions. But that Commonwealth event showed us who they REALLY are.

    • BnLurkN4eva says:

I feel as you do Guest with Cat. I feel much of the ire needs to be placed on William because you know of the two of them he’s the one calling the shots and I firmly believe he’s the one who orchestrated the smear campaign against Meghan and work to drive H/M out of the royal family. He’s a little minded person and he chose a similar person to be his bride. I think the reason people focus so on Kate is because her actions were directly compared to Meghan’s to embiggen her. Also at the service, Willie nodded at Meghan and responded to Harry, Kate ignored both completely and it was disgustingly rude and unprofessional especially considering the event. Also, remember Harry is a prince of the realm and she a married in, by their own rules, she was out of step to treat him that way. Her behavior was just beyond the pale on that day. But I absolutely agree with you, they are both terrible and outside of that incident l direct my ire to William more so than Kate, he’s the instigator and he’s the brother to Harry.

    • Nic919 says:

William is certainly to blame for why this all went sideways. He was able to be part time for years but now Harry can’t? It’s because William is jealous of what his brother has. I think that’s where the dumping Kate sentiment comes in. It’s clear he doesn’t respect his wife and he could trade her in if he actually falls for someone else. Because he wants a spouse that he can admire and respect and Harry does with his wife.

It’s not likely right now, but in terms of who the press will attack first it will be Kate and she gave them ammo with her horrid behaviour caught on tape. Plus the making Kate cry stories are something she could have shut down but now we are on another five versions of what supposedly happened.

    • HeyJude says:

      Who’s her husband’s closest friend?

      • Guest with Cat says:

I wanted to find the article I had read detailing the gossip I had read about David Rocksavage and how he leaves Rose and spends a lot of time in Paris with a suspected “male black widow” Francois-Marie Banier. But it appears a number of those articles have been scrubbed from easy search engine access. The best I could find was one in Lainey Gossip. I can’t link you to it because most of my posts with links often fail to post for some reason. But Lainey had the guts to come right out and call out how shady and amoral these people and their associates can be. They do as they please and are pleased when they do. I guess some of them also do whom they please and are pleased when they do.

I don’t look sideways at David Rocksavage having a friend he’d rather hang with than his wife and kids. But when that friend may have swindled and possibly done worse to vulnerable older women at the ends of their lives, yeah I’m gonna judge everyone but the children. No roof is so fancy that a woman should turn a blind eye to that kind of mess just to keep it over her head.

See that’s the thing about Meghan, she lived in an ordinary house most of her life and bought her own fancy stuff. She knows she won’t die if she wanders off of some fancy estate. So there’s only so much she’s willing to ignore just for the privilege of living fancy. And she reached her limit in the UK with those people. She showed them that they could stick their tiaras as far as she was concerned. She barely even wore much jewelry during her last several events. She now owns Diana’s aquamarine ring and doesn’t have it stuck to her finger like some great prize. She’s a whole self contained, self sufficient human being. She must have seemed like an alien from space for all that they could comprehend someone like her, especially a female.

These aristos, on the other hand, seem willing to be complicit in just about anything to hold onto their fancy estates (that some can’t even afford to keep up without selling tours).

      • HeyJude says:

@Cat I thought you meant the fellow from another line of Cholmondeley’s
who was a white colonizer in Kenya and shot several people in black men in cold blood- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_P._G._Cholmondeley

        …great folks these are, eh?!

    • February-Pisces says:

@GWC I get what your saying. I side eye both of them especially William. But I guess the only reason people are rooting for William to dump Kate is because that is when the shit will really hit the fan. I don’t want William to leave kate so he can live happily ever after with rose, but that it’s the only way these two will get their karma for the things they have done because once that happenes the facade will finally slip. She’s never going to have any respect for herself and leave him so it’s up to William to pull the trigger. Their break up will never be amicable and neither of them is going to take the high road and act like a grown up about it. They both will drag each other straight to hell via the press, and I know it’s petty but I can’t wait to watch karma at work.

  49. Zaya says:

That commenwealth thing was just stupid. Aren’t they supposed to diplomats? The British are so proud to be known as classy and polite. They go on and on about etiquette. And yet the ffk & ffq couldn’t act as if things were cordial?

    • A says:

Ikr. The whole idea that behaving with the modicum of decency and common courtesy = rebuilding bridges lmao. What a bunch of petulant a**holes, really. Being nice, not being a mean girl = rebuilding bridges? God.

If this is how Kate tried to “freeze out” Rose Hanbury, no wonder Rose got angry and took her story to the tabloids. You don’t do this sh-t. William and Kate are okay with publicly snubbing Meghan and Harry, in front of MILLIONS of people who were watching. How did she behave with Rose Hanbury? I don’t even want to know.

  50. A says:

There is so much to unpack here. Holy god. Okay. First the “vipers” stuff–if the palace really didn’t give a crap, they wouldn’t have said anything. So why talk about it if it doesn’t bother you so much? God, this is so juvenile. It’s like screaming, “I’m rubber you’re glue,” at a bunch of school yard bullies.

Second, the whole crying at the fitting thing. I hate this debacle so f-cking much, but notice now, the story has somewhat shifted as well. FF asserts that Kate did not cry AT the fitting. The Fail’s sources are insisting that she cried AFTER the fitting. They also claim that Kate was “deeply upset.” Not crying, deeply upset. That’s a different thing entirely. And she didn’t cry AT the fitting, where Meghan and everyone else could see her, she cried AFTER the fitting, so Meghan would not have known Kate was upset.

You can see, from this, just how rotten and Karen-esque Kate really is. She’s a f-cking b-tch, and I’ve never said that before. “You made me cry, but instead of having a grown up, honest discussion about this like an adult, I’m going to resort to having my mummy and friends ring up the tabs and put out a fake story about how the mean black lady was mean to me in front of my child.”

I still maintain that she probably had a bit of a weep somewhere in private, came home, told people about it, conveniently made it seem like it was all Meghan’s fault, and then didn’t do or say anything when her attack dogs started screeching down the phone lines to the press. The rebuttal here is so weaksauce and pathetic, it beggars belief. They’ll keep insisting that Meghan made Kate cry until she zooms to the grave probably, thinking that no one can put the details together, lmao. F-ck them.

Third, the whole scented diffuser things not “going down well.” Not going down well for WHOM exactly? And does Meghan know that it didn’t go over well? Because I’m willing to bet, that when her office made that request, these two-faced b-tches smiled politely, said they’d look into it, put then phone down, then started cackling at each other and gossiping about what a high maintenance AH Meghan is, and how DARE she ask for SCENTED DIFFUSERS. And then, when they got the chance, they went and told the tabs all about how she’s so DEMANDING and awful and rude, when these people acted like they didn’t have a problem with her all along.

These staffers know what they did. They think the world can’t see them, but they can. Not only are they absolutely horrible, they’re genuinely the bottom of the barrel types of people. They backstabbed Meghan and Harry and acted like two-faced AHs the whole time, and that makes it so much worse. And these people, many of whom genuinely believe in things like monarchy, nobility and the class system, think they’re actually better than everyone else, when the truth is that they’re worse even than the most trashiest of trailer trash anywhere in the world. They’re proof positive that aristocratic blood and genetics has f-ck all to do with being decent people.
