Hilaria Baldwin welcomed her fifth child (in seven years), a boy named Eduardo

West Side Story Opening Night - Arrivals.

In 2019, Hilaria Baldwin went through back-to-back miscarriages. She had already gone through four successful pregnancies in quick succession across six years, and she seemed obsessed with adding even more children to the family. She took the two miscarriages – the last one happening in the second trimester – pretty hard, but she said even as it happened that she would try for a fifth child again. The next pregnancy went to term, and she gave birth this week.

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin welcomed another son, born on September 8. They’ve named him Eduardo Pau Lucas Baldwin. I think Hilaria gets to name the kids, and she seems to use a theme: Spanish names which are common enough for Americans. Eduardo joins: Carmen Gabriela (born 2013), Rafael Thomas (born 2015), Leonardo (born 2016) and Romeo Alejandro David (born 2018). I really wonder if she’s going to try to have a sixth child next year.

I also think it’s sort of funny to see that the Baldwin genes are crazy strong! Every time I see their kids, all I see are little mini-Alecs. They all have his face!

Alec needs to get snipped. His wife is going to drop from exhaustion

I have a feeling she’s trying for another girl and keeps having boys. So yes, I think she will try again.

  3. Carobell says:

It will be interesting to see if and when she stops, it could just be a desire for a large family, quickly as she (and Alec) are only getting older or is a Duggar-esque addiction to pregnancy/children? They can afford help, etc but it is a lot of children and quickly.

He is 62, with 5 very young kids including a newborn. Whew.

My uterus just put on my sneakers and vacated my body in a dead sprint.

  6. Anya says:

Some women just like being pregnant and having babies around. Two kids was plenty for me and my body, but hey, to each their own. They are wealthy enough to afford full-time nannies even if Alec is too old to take care of the kids.

My husband had five kids with his first wife. She was fertile Myrtle and loved having babies around. Also, it made it nearly financially impossible for him to get divorced when they were young. Five kids and alimony is a lot of money!

I think they will keep going. She is very open that she thinks her daughter should have a sister.

Me, I had my five. I have 4 girls and a boy. People still ask me if I feel the need to give my son a brother. And that never makes sense. What if I have a sixth and it’s a girl? On to Number Seven? It’s not realistic. We always set the ceiling at 5 and that’s what we stuck with. My son loves his sisters. He does not “need” a brother.

And yes, I see an army of mini-Alecs. Thought it’s ironic, given that Ireland is a spitting image of her mother Kim.

Genetics are so weird. Ireland looks like her mom, but there are a few photos where Carmen looks JUST like Ireland.

Here for the header picture. It gives my feels about the entire situation.

  9. Wit of the Staircase says:

My mother had eight children in 10 years (including a miscarriage). Some women are just built for babies and if they are well cared for and healthy, why not? They can certainly afford it.

  10. Clueless9x9 says:

Awe. All of the kids look adorable. However, I am happy to be in menopause!

  11. deader than new metal and disco says:

Is she trying for the girl, does she want a large family, or this is just her hustle and securing that alamony? Not judging btw just curious
