Haha, yes. It looks so bad, especially the edges/borders, that it almost look intentional. I know itās the thought that counts, but having been on the receiving end of so many terrible baked goods, because Iām known to have a sweet tooth, with handmade gifts, I wish people stuck to what they are good at.
I’m wondering if Taylor did it herself? It’s definitely not very professional looking, but if she did it herself it’s personal and cute.

My first reaction is “ouch, I would have redone that and fixed the tension on my machine”. But you know, my first sewing projects weren’t the best either. In fact, they looked pretty bad. So, good on her for trying. I hope she sticks with it.

She basically sent that baby a million dollars, if she made that blanket herself! Also, thatās either a giant card and envelope, or the blanket is really small. In any event, cute gesture.
This reminds me of my baby shower way back in the day when a coworker who didn’t have a lot of money gave me a home-made little stuffed heart she had hand-sewn. It was really not the greatest looking item (the look on my hubby’s face – omfg) but she was a genuinely sweet person who really wanted to do something kind. I found it very touching & kept it for a very very long time – in fact I may still have it tucked away in a bin of baby memorabilia somewhere in the garage. I’m not really a fan of Taylor Swift but maybe when you are that rich and can easily buy any extravagant gift without much thought, the things that you actually put time into creating for another person might be the things that means the most.
I like it! It’s cute as well as weird — the blanket is too small, it’s a strange shade, and the embroidery is not good — and I think that makes it the perfect gift for a baby. It’s unique and original and has flaws that make it adorable and lovely in its way and took a lot of care to make, and that’s what a baby is, too.
Look, the embroidery isnāt very good but itās a very sweet present. And if that baby is estranged from their family at 18 then selling it will totally pay for college. Thatās if they havenāt chewed it to ribbons by age 2.
