Kendall Jenner reveals something for the first time: ‘I am a stoner… no one knows that’

Kendall Jenner has drinks while she watches Devin Booker play his Basketball Game

I haven’t had a drink in years. I’ve had moments in this hellish year where I wondered if I should have a drink, but then I just think better of it. But I’ll say this: if marijuana was available to me, I would smoke it. I wish I was stoned right now. I’m not saying that’s a good or bad thing, it’s just how I feel, seven weeks away from the election which decides whether we’re all going to live or die. Apparently, Kendall Jenner is the “stoner” of the Kardashian-Jenner family, which might explain why she’s been largely in the wind all year? Girl is smoking blunts and listening to music, trying to de-stress from this godforsaken year.

On an episode of Sibling Rivalry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson taped in January, Jenner revealed that she smokes marijuana, which is legal in the state of California. While answering a round of lightening questions, Oliver asked Jenner and her sister Kourtney Kardashian, “If there was a stoner [in your family] who would it be?”

And after Kourtney quickly answered, “Kendall,” the model agreed.

“I am a stoner,” the 24-year-old model shared. “No one knows that, so that’s the first time I’ve ever really said anything out there.”

The question came after the two sisters said Kylie Jenner was the most “laidback” of the family

“Kylie is very non-judgemental,” said Kourtney, 41.

While Kendall didn’t expand on her marijuana use, she’s not the first member of the Kardashian family to admit to dabbling in drugs. Kim Kardashian West, 38, previously surprised fans by admitting on Keeping Up with the Kardashians that she was high on ecstasy during two notable life moments — when she wed music producer Damon Thomas in 2000 and when she made a sex tape with Ray J in 2003. “I got married on ecstasy. The first time,” she said. “I did ecstasy once and I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape. Like, everything bad would happen.”

[From People]

Oh man, I totally forgot that Kim claimed to be rolling on ecstasy when she eloped AND when she did the tape. Hm. The worst thing that ever happened to me when I was high was… I don’t even remember. I basically just vegged out and watched movies and E!. Anyway, if you listen to Kendall speak, it’s pretty obvious she’s been a stoner for a while. It’s legal in California, which is amazing and I wish it was legal in my state.

Marijuana is good stuff. Everything in moderation.

  2. Nicole says:

So like, is this supposed to be thing thing that makes her interesting so that people tune into the next generation of Jenner/Kardashian reality shows coming?

Because I don’t think it’s going to work. Her being a stoner isn’t shocking or surprising.

    • Jules says:

Lol, reminds me of the last time she teased about a huge shocking reveal. And it ended up being about having acne and being a spokesperson for proactive.

    • ME says:

You can bet this family isn’t going away. They had to end their show only because of low ratings and E Network not willing to give them more money. It’s funny how much this family thinks they are worth or they are in denial that people don’t want to watch their show anymore. I see them waiting a bit and then doing a show on another network. There are rumblings Kris Jenner is going to do a Real Housewife show. I can see Real Housewives of Calabasas being a thing they try to do.

  3. Sequinedheart says:

…and? So what. It’s legal in CA.
    I drink coffee… headline it!

  4. Biff says:

I’ve tried marijuana a few times, because i’m terrible at being drunk and I thought maybe that would be a good substitute. The only thing I felt was paranoia. Is that weird?

    • waitwhat says:

There are different strains. Not unusual at all to get paranoid, but other strains can have a different affect. Or it may be you ;-)!

    • Jules says:

Not weird. There are different strains of marijuana, depends on dosage, and everyone reacts different as well.

    • Kliving says:

@biff, most people don’t realize it, but marijuana is actually a hallucinogen, which is why paranoia is a side effect for some. I know lots of people use it and are fine, but I work in mental health and have seen my fair share of people who have cannabis-induced psychosis, so I have mixed feelings about the recent normalization and mainstreaming of use. To be clear, I think it should be legalized, but I would like to see a lot more education and regulation about strains/THC content.

    • Joanna says:

I usually have some paranoia when I use it. So I don’t do it that often. Sadly, I too am a bad drunk. I guess we’ll have to form our own party lol

  5. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

I’d be lit if it were legal here. I would’ve wake-and-baked my ass off first thing.

  6. Elizabeth says:

Medical and recreational marijuana are legal in my state (Illinois) as of January and just in time. Although I prefer CBD oil.

  7. waitwhat says:

    So edge. So much cool.

I’m not in love with the advert for weed. I have always been a proponent of legalization until I saw the impact on my own family. The availability makes it very easy for minors to obtain and the strains – especially wax – are SO much stronger than the stuff we smoked in the 80’s. Like 25-30% THC in my day vs. 80-90% in wax. My 16 yo son is now a full-blown addict and that’s where he started. For many it’s easy to do in moderation, but I think the strength of today’s weed makes it more dangerous with regards to addiction. And wax doesn’t smell the way tree does so it’s hard to detect. I jokingly refer to my son as my “barnacle” because we are joined at the hip and even I missed the early use.

I’m not trying to start a debate. I’m just sharing my personal experience. I don’t know the data, nor am I passionate about the subject outside of its impact on my child and, by extension, my family. Wish celebs wouldn’t discuss their use of it.

    • Khia says:

You are entitled to those opinions and though I am ok with usage, I don’t think minors should have access either. You’re a great mom and family member. I hope he realizes it’s not always needed. Agreed on the wax. That stuff is too strong.

    • AnnaKist says:

I’m sending you hugs, waitwhat,as I’ve been through it with my boy, too. I have o wise words, as whatever I did was apparently the wrong thing. I hope your son will be ok, with your love and patience, and the right help.

    • Geeena says:

Blame the dispensary of course, not the parenting.

      • Hoot says:

@Geeena – Who your comment is in reply to? No one above you mentioned a dispensary or placed blame there. Besides …a 16-y.o. can use cannabis with parental consent, but they cannot legally purchase it at a dispensary.

“Adults 21 and over can buy cannabis at retail dispensaries with an “A” adult use license as of Jan 1, 2018. Medical users 18 and over with a California physician’s recommendation can buy at stores with an “M” medical use license.”

    • Also Ali says:

Marijuana is legal in my state and I have no idea what “wax” is, that’s how out of touch I am, but I bet my 13 year old does. It stands to reason that the more accessible marijuana is to adults, the more accessible it is to almost adults.

I’m so sorry waitwhat. My boys are still fairly young so we haven’t faced this particular challenge but I know these things can happen and it breaks my heart for your family.

    • waitwhat says:

Thanks you guys, I really appreciate the support.

AnnaKist, at the first parent support group I joined, the first thing they told me was that every parent in the room parents differently from the next. Some are strict, some are hands-off and everything in between. Yet we were all in the same place. We’re not the cause and we can’t fix it (although many do say that they contributed and I certainly feel that way). It just happens. And hugs to you right back. I always like seeing your posts.

Geena, I’m not sure how to take your comment, but if you’re criticizing my parenting skills when I wasn’t taking a hard line on legalization…you need help with reading comprehension or your anger issues or both.

  8. Beach Dreams says:

LOL, how “out there” indeed, Kendall. She remains as dull as dishwater.

  9. Emily Ayala says:

Does she not get cravings being high? LOL, I would eat ALL the snacks!

  10. Bettyrose says:

I don’t like marijuana (smoke has no effect on me and edibles make me crazy paranoid) but I’ve always objected to laws against it, especially for medical purposes. Now that it’s legal recreationally, I can literally walk 5 blocks to the neighborhood dispensary, no prescription required. I do buy CBD oil occasionally as a sleep aid.

  11. Sorella says:

I think I like her more now hahah kidding. No she is still not interesting to me and still the most boring of that family. It is now legal here in Canada so not a big deal here to reveal that on this side of the border.

  12. cmoviecat says:

To annakist and waitwhat: As a daughter myself who was able to also hide a lot of issues from my parents in plain sight (hiding my mental health issues even while being with them 80% of the time), it’s not your fault. I hate that people blame everything on the parents, when they don’t know anything about the situation. Especially on mothers. I wish you all the best

  13. tammy says:

Maine is a month away from recreational sales and I am so happy!!

  14. Lissdogmom02 says:

Kaiser, it’s legal here in Oregon & it’s awesome it’s the only pain relief I’ve got for my Ra, everything else makes me sick. My mom & her very religious friends all get cbd now for anti inflammatory, which is the best there is, it’s funny to hear them talk about going to the weed store or marijuana as they refer to it. I had my best friends mother in law ask me to go to the dispensary for her as rso oil at night stops her tremors during the day, it’s hilarious.
Hopefully your state will soon, or they legalize it federally.

  15. DINA says:

    same, girl. sameeee

  16. Alex says:

Well, I guess I’ll slow clap for that incredibly normative statement.
