Celebrations erupt around America & across the world for Joe Biden & Kamala Harris

people biden harris

I remember when Barack Obama first won the presidency in 2008, and even though we were facing a near-total economic collapse that autumn, we all celebrated. We got drunk on the photos and videos of this charismatic young man and his photogenic family. We were drunk on the possibility of it all, that we had turned some kind of corner as a country. It was just… joyful. And this weekend has been that same kind of joy with the official call that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won. This time, the joy is that we, as a society, defeated fascism. We fought hard and we beat back fascism and fascist-appeasers the only way left to us: through the ballot box. And the mood is ebullient, joyful, happy, full of merriment.

I’m including domestic and international magazine and newspaper covers and front pages of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. The reaction internationally has been immediate relief, as world leaders rushed to congratulate Joe and Kamala. I’m including some of those messages, as well as some videos of all of the American and international celebrations!

I still feel like I’m on Cloud 9. I mean I don’t even live in the US and even I could hear/see fireworks

    • Lori says:

Just when I thought I had no more tears left to cry, I watch the videos on the post and once again sobbing with relief. Seeing such unfiltered joy was so overwhelming after so much darkness. My husband and I realized how much tension we’ve been carrying – and we’re not even in the US…

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

Even my part of London, which is very conservative had a fireworks display. The relief the world feels at finally having adults in the White House is palpable. In the UK we need to give Trump’s doppelganger his marching orders.

    • Lisa says:

Here in Hong Kong, I am finally able to breathe again! These last four years have been a time of confusion and anxiety, anger at my memories of America and the friends I had who used to jokingly call me a slope and a slanty eyed asian driver, and I thought they were kidding back then but I became convinced they actually meant it these last 4 years! I unfriended most of them on Facebook, took myself off facebook coz it was simply too painful to be bombarded with horrible pro trump posts…and now, finally, not that I will go back on facebook, but those muthafukkin racist POS’ can go back into the woodwork they came from!

      • SomeChick says:

I’m sorry you were treated that way by supposed friends. You’re right, it isn’t funny. It’s cruel. You deserve better!

    • Bella DuPont says:

America beat stage 4 cancer, against the odds. Well done guys! Now ots time to clean out the trash they left behind and make sure they can never come back again. Down with the electoral college!

      • B says:

@Bella I am also totally relieved, feeling a new burst of hope and happiness too! Yes! (On a side note, my Mom, and many peoples’ loved ones across the world, died of stage 4 cancer and don’t think that is necessaarily the best analogy)…

    • AnnaKist says:

I’m not American, either, Sofia, but this election has fascinated everyone I know. The media coverage down here in the last two weeks has been unprecedented saturation, and we’ve devoured every tidbit. The people I know, who didn’t understand what your Electoral College Voting system is, now love discussing it. In our house, we only have the telly on our national broadcaster – no sensationalism, no competitions, no right-wing numpties spreading their own brand of stupid, no ads! – and they have had experts explaining everything to us: political scientists, data analysts, statisticians, professors of law and constitutional law etc. I am so happy for America.

      • Mustlovedogs says:

Oh me too @Annakist! So happy for our American friends ❤️- fellow Australian here- our ABC coverage was brilliant wasn’t it? PS love your balanced, sensible posts 😊

    • Kelly says:

I have a friend who lives in Germany now and he said they were ringing church bells for hours in celebration.

  2. FancyPants says:

I really wanted every single publication in the world to run “YOU’RE FIRED” on the front page. What a beautiful morning in America!!!

  3. Ariel says:

    So much joyful crying yesterday.

    • tempest prognosticator says:

I wept! Tears of relief, tears of joy. Good ol’ ugly crying. Got it all out.

      • Babz says:

Me, too! I’m not sure which threatened to deluge the world more – the joyful tears, or all the flowing champagne!!

  4. Sierra says:

People are celebrating like we just won WW11 and it is joyous to see.

Van Jones’s reaction perfectly showed just why this victory was important.

    • Nina Simone says:

      Just wanted to say,
Van Jones blows where the wind blows and was a collaborator with the Trump administration. Got paid and everything. Friends with white supremacists Ivanka and Jared. We (black women) were not moved by his crocodile tears. The last 4 years have showed people’s true colors and we would do well not to forget. I imagine he acted both scenarios out before he went on air yesterday.

Beware the collaborators now trying to rewrite history….

  5. SJ Knows says:

    Look at those Adults!!
Get to work you two, so much work to do.

At last POTUS and VP, who are able to conduct themselves with dignity. Thank the Universe.

  6. grabbyhands says:

I hope Babyfists chokes on every single headline of congratulations from world leaders because it is painfully obvious they are excited to see the last of his lumpy ass.

    • Esmom says:

I know, right? Bibi Netanyahu sent a very warm message to Joe, too, just weeks after Trump tried to get him to admit on the phone that “Sleepy Joe” could never be as effective as him.

After the initial joy and relief yesterday, my amazement continued to grow at how quickly the whole world and its leaders came out not to just congratulate Joe and Kamala but to do it with effusive praise. I don’t think I realized just how big the dark cloud that Trump cast was. The world is breathing a sigh of relief, not just the U.S.

      • Frida_K says:

        Isn’t it something?

I was weeping as I scrolled through twitter and saw the congratulatory messages from other countries’ leaders.

The orange menace can fulminate all he wants but it’s clear that nobody cares what he thinks about this issue. We’re all too busy celebrating his ouster.

We cast off a dictatorship and we are justifiably relieved and joyful. And so is the rest of the world.

    • Nina Simone says:

It was also hilarious because none of them cared that he hadn’t “conceded” and that according to him the race wasn’t over. Lmao, they went right on to congratulate Joe. Shows what they really think about him 🤣🤣 dummy!

    • Sa says:

I think it was the Mayor of Paris who tweeted “Welcome back America!” No way to mistake what she was saying.

      • Babz says:

THAT was the one that sent me into complete ugly crying! There was just something so heartwarming in that sentence. It almost felt like absolution – we didn’t like where you went the last four years, but we missed you, and we’re just terribly glad you came back!

  7. Eleonor says:

The rest of the world is RELIEVED.
Yesterday here in lockdown France my phone exploded with all my Italian and French friends toasting at the news.
Even if I know in the next weeks Trump is going to be more dangerous than ever, but finally the WTF 2020 gives us something nice to think about.
And tonight I will be toasting and cheering for you again !

  8. Bibi says:

I’ve been avoiding going to the the US for 4 long years. I am so happy for the anerican people. I wish i could be dancing right now over there with u guys.
    Carefull, coronavirus.

    • Lisa says:

Me too! hahaha. Our plan was to take my oldest son on a road trip along the West Coast when he graduated highschool 4 years ago, but after Trump got elected we canned that plan…my son is now going into his fourth year of University! There is hope yet!

      • Anne Call says:

We, in California, have pretended like trump doesn’t exist and Newsom is our president. It’s not that hard to do when you’re the 5th largest economy in the world with 40 million living in the state. Please visit, we will welcome you with open arms and show you a successful multicultural population that really works! Also just can’t stop being so HAPPY about Madam Vice President Kamala Harris!

  9. Anna says:

Oh my goodness!! I wish I was there joining in all the street parties. It made me soo happy. xx

  10. SJ Knows says:

Thanks to the other world leaders who gave lovely messages of support to Biden-Harris.
Hey Justin T. and all Canadians Thanks Neighbors! 🙂

    • Jaded says:

We Canadians have your back again!!!

    • Charfromdarock says:

@SJ knows, I think I speak for most Canadians in saying that we are elated for our American neighbours.

I’m sure JT had that tweet in his draft folder just waiting to hit send all week!

    • Atorontogal says:

      Canada loves a trumpless USA!!

    • Roo says:

Justin T is everybody’s Emotional Support Canadian. 😢

    • buenavissta says:

Your northern neighbours are over the moon on your behalf. You did it, America!

    • Golly Gee says:

      Congratulations from Canada! ❤️
Trump’s hateful actions have affected people in the US and the rest of the world. It feels like the world has taken a big collective breath and sighed in relief. It feels so good to have a neighbor who is a friend again!

    • Golly Gee says:

Congratulations from Canada! Trump’s hateful actions have affected people in the US and the rest of the world. It feels like the world has taken a big collective breath and sighed in relief. It feels so good to have a neighbor who is a friend again!

  11. H says:

I legit cried. Then texted the kid, who is in Europe, and we celebrated. All my friends, except one (she was one of those shy Trumpers who has since revealed herself as a racist), we had a party on FB. It’s glorious.

The funniest video is the guy in France. I will never hear escargot the same way again.

  12. BearcatLawyer says:

When literally the entire world is hard core celebrating your defeat, it is time for some major self-reflection.

But who am I kidding? Cheeto Mussolini would never do that.

    • Esmom says:

Seriously. And you’re right. He and his whole family will carry this chip on their deluded shoulders forever, never acknowledging how despised they are.

Did you see the photo of him in the car after golfing, seeing all the joyous celebrations of his defeat? He looked stunned. It was glorious. I didn’t expect to take so much joy from his loss, lol.

      • Rapunzel says:

Esmom- I read reports that Jared is trying to talk Trump into conceding. My immediate thought was, “he’s hoping to save his and Ivanka’s” reputations.

If Jarvanka has real aspirations of the WH, they cannot let Trump get dragged out. No Trump will win any office ever again if they show they have to be removed kicking and screaming “fraud.”

Trump’s behavior is ruining any future for his older kids. Not smart. But Trump has basically told us he won’t accept losing, and I’d be stunned if he conceded or acted like a gracious loser in any way. He’s been open about this, which makes me think he really will flee the country, as he openly said that too. The dude is transparent af.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Dump got the whole 2020 experience:

      – He got COVID
      – He lost his job
      – He’s about to get evicted
      – His wife is about to divorce him

The icing is all the lawsuits and indictments coming his and his spawns way now that they have lost the protection of the Presidency.

He will never understand that the ENTIRE PLANET celebrated him losing the election – 70million Americans may have voted for him but several BILLION other planet earth citizens celebrated his loss. BURN!!!!!

      • Rapunzel says:

DU- re: Trump and Melania divorce, even the DailyFail was saying it’s gonna happen. It’s a done deal at this point.

      • Babz says:

Perfect comment! I dread the thought that his spawns will be part of the political landscape in the future, but we’ll deal with that as it comes. I’m conflicted – I want him jailed and humiliated, but if he disappeared into oblivion in another country I would deal with that, too. I do want him erased from history. No library, no official portrait, no state funeral when he goes, no recognition by the small club of other former presidents, none of it. None of the perks and trappings of being a former president. We can’t do anything about his secret service protection, but we can do something about the other things. For a succubus who feeds off of attention and idolatry, that would be the ultimate punishment. I would be very happy with that.

      • Yup, Me says:

Yes! I was telling my husband- it’s pretty funny that drumph’s ego is so fragile that he ran for president in large part because Obama made fun of him at a White House Correspondents dinner and he could. not. DEAL.

And now, he’s being ridiculed and repudiated on a scale that makes that look miniscule. I hope it’s destroying him.

      • Lady D says:

“several BILLION other planet earth citizens celebrated his loss”
Trump finally got the big numbers he’s been dreaming of. He must be so happy. LOL.
Anybody else finding ordinary words and situations today a lot funnier than normal?

      • BearcatLawyer says:

One of the memes that made me LOL yesterday:

“Unemployed man with five kids by three different women and under state and federal investigation to be evicted from public housing”

      • notasugarhere says:

They will escape on a Saudi or UAE flight on the last day. If the US Senate is won by Republicans? There will be no investigations into what Drumpf and his family did, no reopening investigations or starting new ones. They’ll walk on all criminal activity, because Moscow Mitch wasn’t voted out.

  13. AmyB says:

This was the BEST day of 2020!! Thank you to all the people who came out to vote!

Finally – the nightmare of the last four years can begin to end!!

    Biden/Harris 2020!!!!

  14. Elizabeth Regina says:

For me, I also love that Harry and Meghan have powerful friends in the White House. Oh how karma works! The grey men in suits, the RF, Piss Moron, Mad Rotten and the rota rats will be scrambling now.

  15. ThatsNotOkay says:

“I’m really looking forward to working together and building on that with you both.”

How jealous is Ivanka of that tweet from Trudeau to (Joe &) Kamala.

  16. Sarah says:

Currently the top US election story on the BBC (2nd ‘most read’ overall) is titled ‘Being with Trump the day he lost the election’. Apparently we Brits love to gloat and I am totally here for that. It’s a good read.

  17. Seraphina says:

What a beautiful video of people dancing to a Christmas song. It was so needed after a year of ups and downs and of such uncertainty. In my jaded old age, I don’t believe in political parties or politicians, I was glued to this election and it’s results. The tyrant simply had to go.

    • ChillyWilly says:

It totally feels like we won a war! I woke up this morning feeling so much relief and joy! It wasn’t a dream…we really did it America!!! And oh how I am loving the joy the entire world is feeling today!

  18. velvet72 says:

Someone needs to do a deep dive into when Rupert Murdoch finally decided to turn the tide. All of his papers are going after Trump. The fact that the NY Post has the “You’re Fired” on the front page is a big deal. Even the Daily Mail is putting up articles about how everybody in the inner circle is attacking each other and especially Jared. No promotion of the ridiculous fraud stuff. It’s like Murdoch just decided to ignore everything he’s encouraged for a decade and leave that family blowing in the wind.

    • Darla says:

He got what he wanted out of trump, he’ll be fluffing the next loon soon enough.

      • velvet72 says:

Oh, absolutely, he will just move on to someone else. It’s just interesting because he could easily lean into the conspiracy angles and sell a lot of papers to crazy people, but he seems to have decided it is time to cut them off. I think Jared thought he would always have him as a support. He must be devastated.

    • Rapunzel says:

I think the Murdoch abandonment is personal. Trump supposedly called him up to yell at him for calling AZ in Biden’s favor. Diaper Don’s tantrum likely didn’t sit well with ol’ Rupert. Real billionaires aren’t accustomed to be yelled at. Especially by phonies they helped reach the white house.

    • cassandra says:

According to The Washington Post, Murdoch called Trump in March/April and tried to convince him to take Covid seriously. I think he’s been parting ways with Trump for a while-or at least saw the way the wind was blowing.

We just need to get Tucker Carlson off the air. That man HAS to have something hiding in his closet.

      • Rapunzel says:

Cassandra- I read Tucker Carlson and Tom Cotton are front runners for the 2024 GOP nom. Yikes!

    • SpankyB says:

The lawsuits from Fox lying (repeating Trump’s lies) about Covid is what started it. Murdoch probably saw Trump was now a liability.

  19. Darla says:

My friend and I drove through Manhattan last night, I picked her up in Jersey City. She’s staying with me for the week on LI. We ended up parking the car and staying for hours. Oh, the joy! No better place to be and I am so grateful I ended up in NYC last night.

  20. Becks1 says:

The celebrations made me tear up. The sheer sense of relief I feel is overwhelming. We won. Goodness won. Decency won. We still need to talk about the 70 million who votes against that, but right now let’s dance lol.

  21. Mina_Esq says:

The people singing along to “since you’ve been gone” and the guy in Philly with his sign is the trolling we need right now 😂

  22. dreamchild says:

Congrats Celebitches!!!!! I have only allowed myself to check out your blog this whole week due to the overwhelming stress of the last 4 years especially as a Black mom of three grown sons and 5 grandsons. Friday evening I received a text to attend a vote wait protest at Columbus Circle (59th and Central Park West) at noon which is right in front of Trump International Hotel. Imagine my surprise and delight when I emerged from the subway to discover Biden/Harris had been declared winners. The whole street immediately erupted in cheers and fist bumps and shouts of YOU’RE FIRED directly at the Trump building. All the cars, buses and trucks in the street were honking their horns and folks hanging out of cars screaming with glee. I walked up Central Park West from 59th street to 125th joining in and dancing with all the celebrations at every intersection. Even though we were all wearing masks (NYers are exceptionally good at that) you could still see the smiles. Folks were cheering with champagne, ringing cowbells and even some pots and pans!!! The weather was an absolutely perfect fall day with not a cloud in the deep blue sky and gentle breezes. I just recently relocated back to NY from Florida for my Mom and was deeply grateful to be able to join in the celebration with my hometown and a resounding repudiation of Don the Con!!!!!!!! Go Kamala and Joe!!!!
Next the ATL (which needs to win 2 Dem Senators) another hometown of mine where I raised my sons and they still live!
Thanks for all the love and support from around the world.

  23. SamC says:

I accidentally got caught in three successive Trump road rally’s last weekend then yesterday was caught a Biden Harris rally a few hours after the win was announced. What a study in contrasts. Yesterday was such joy, positivity, even the car horns sounded happy. The Trump folks, while supposedly celebrating and cheering on their candidate, all looked and sounded so angry.

Yesterday was one of those good days to be alive. Though I’m going to keep wearing my #pearlsforruth until the inauguration.

  24. Olenna says:

People dancing in the streets, grown-ass men skipping! Hallelujah, I love to see it! Praise and thank you to all Americans who voted for decency and the preservation of democracy. The reign an inept crime boss and his miscreants is finally over.

  25. Ninks says:

I’ve been avoiding watching the news all week and trying to limit myself from the internet because the anxiety was making me ill, but last night after work I turned on CNN and watched the street celebrations for hours. It was so joyous to see the happiness of Americans, and a massive relief that yesterday was a peaceful celebration. I was worried about the reaction from the right, and still worried about it, but yesterday felt like everyone woke up from a long collective nightmare took a deep breath for the first time in for years.

Congratulations to all Americans who saved their country from a fascist abyss in the middle of a pandemic, in the midst of a massive disinformation campaign, despite widespread voter suppression. There’ still so much work to do, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and you took an enormous first step this week.

  26. ce says:

I live in Brooklyn, in a part of the borough which voted very blue. It’s a quiet residential street but several people came out and started hollering, honking car horns and banging pots and pans. My neighbors down the street were on their front porch all afternoon. It reminded me of when Obama won- the joy. At night people shot off fireworks. What a celebration!

    • Sa says:

I lived in Brooklyn when Obama won and I remember all the honking horns (terrified my new kitten). I’d never witnessed that level of excitement for a new President and for 12 years I thought I wouldn’t see anything like it again. Glad to be wrong.

  27. NΞΞNΔ ZΞΞ says:

I’m so relieved and hopeful for better days ahead under the leadership of a man who cares about Americans and America. And, of course, our country’s first female VP!!

At the same time, I just can’t overlook the fact that more than 70 million Americans voted for Trump. It’s incredibly sobering… and frightening.

  28. LightPurple says:

    Tears of joy here yesterday.

And why do I think Angela Merkel was shouting and dancing as much, if not more, than anyone else?

  29. ME says:

I’m extremely happy Biden/Harris won. However, what is bothering me is the fact so many are gathering in crowds of thousands to celebrate. Did people forget there is a deadly virus going around? On CNN they repeatedly noted the lack of social distancing. Many wore masks, but there were many that didn’t. The reason Biden asked his supporters to vote through mail is so people could stay safe…but the minute he wins, what did people do? Go out in the streets in the thousands, drinking champagne and sharing from the same bottle ! Dancing up close to each other. It’s embarrassing. Biden supporters are smarter than this ! Please be responsible. I’m tired of being in my home, it’s been f*cking months, but I’m doing my part. Rant over.

    • SomeChick says:

I’m seeing a lot of masks. Seems like someone always has to come with a negative comment to any good news. Let us be happy for one day! Biden and Harris are actually going to listen to scientists and work to control the spread of the virus, instead of just going “oh well, who cares if the poor and old die!”

    • Kkat says:

We are still fighting for our lives. He needs to see and accept it’s over, That we make it harder for him to fight it.
The world leaders saying congrats was super important, but the people celebrating in the streets in such numbers makes it that much harder for him to say he won.
      THE PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING

I have mostly seen masks, but this is one of those things where the long game matters. We need Biden at the head running the covid response. There will undoubtedly be some new infections from this but no more from the nazi rallys or things like sturgis.
There were few new cases or a surge after the protests where people also wore masks.
This is WAR, the end of one, but were still in it.
We defeated and are in the final process of defeating this current serious Fascism threat in our country.

  30. Noodle says:

We had some MAGA protests in Huntington Beach, CA yesterday. I don’t get it. Trump never came to California except to fundraise. He ignored us as a state because he knew he’d never get our electoral votes. When we had those massive wildfires, he initially denied emergency federal fund relief (then changed his mind when someone got through to him in the optics of denying federal funds). His comments about it’s our job to “sweep our forest floors” were about all we ever got from him or his administration. (And by the way, 85% of our parks and forests are federally managed, so it’s HIS peoples’ job to “sweep” those floors – and yes, that’s a stupid thing to say in the first place.)

All this to say – WHY California conservatives? Why are you loyal to this man who shows his derision and neglect daily? It’s probably the tax breaks for the insanely wealthy, which we have in droves here, but I still don’t get it. Don’t cry tears for him because he’s NOT crying tears for you. Maybe for your money, but def not YOU.

    • heygingersnaps says:

I know some Filipino Americans who lives in California and who are staunched maga/dump supporters because they believe the lies that the gop and dump have spewed about black people looting, to fear antifa and that with the democrats they will have more taxes to pay. Basically, they are okay with racism, fascism, misogyny and all the other shenanigans as long as their taxes stay low. Mind you, the other is a nurse and the other works in technology, they don’t earn a boatload of money but live comfortably.

    • Kkat says:

I live in Lakewood, Ca (near long beach) the magat scum are thick here.
You know why, it’s a lot of racist boomers and their spawn.
My parents, siblings and extended family included.

My husband and I and two kids and two cousins are the only ones that aren’t magat scum out of literally over 200 of my extended family.
There is a lot of racist crap in california

  31. My3cents says:

Hey hey I saved the world today
    And everybody’s happy now
    The bad things gone away

  32. Julia K says:

When an abuser sees his victim(s) walking away, he will attempt to retain control and destroy them if necessary. Be careful. Be watchful. He is not done with us yet.

  33. Babz says:

This made me cry all over again! We have so much work ahead of us, but I feel like we have a fighting chance now. Thank you to all of our friends around the world who never gave up on us, who never stopped loving us, and who realize that this is a win for all of us!

  34. MaryContrary says:

Yesterday when I saw the bells ringing in Paris I cried. It’s like defeating the Nazis again.

  35. heygingersnaps says:

We just came back from grocery shopping around 5pm yesterday and I immediately checked my phone as I accidentally left it at home and jumped for joy when I read that Joe Biden is going to be the next President of the United States. I explained to my son that a very bad man is going away and we opened our last packet of sparklers (leftover from bonfire night) and popped open a bottle of fizz and toasted to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the American people’s success.

  36. nicegirl says:

I kinda feel like we celebitches helped a teensy bit. I love you all

    • Jaded says:

I believe we did too – there are soooo many knowledgeable, passionate and articulate celebitches on this site, both the writers and commenters. I’ve learned a LOT about how the American political system works (I’m Canadian) and the changes that must be made to make it less vulnerable to manipulation by soulless monsters like Trump et al. Thanks to you all!!!!

  37. Suz says:

I’m so happy we’ll never have to listen to him whine and lie again. Twitter can ban him. The sun is shining in America today literally and figuratively.
There is always work to be done but today for the first time in four years I actually feel proud to be American again. We did it. We defeated the cruel fascist. We chose to continue the American Experiment.

  38. TheOriginalMia says:

We lost our power early yesterday morning. We didn’t know until my Dad called to inform us. I immediately felt lighter. All the anger, disappointment, and cynicism that I’ve carried in my heart since 2016 was gone. I’m still angry, disappointed and cynical, but it wasn’t constant in my mind yesterday. I went out and while driving, I cried tears of joy. It was a relief to finally feel hope again. To know we aren’t so far gone. I mean…my family was at the point of considering a move because we just couldn’t take another 4 years. We beat back fascism. We elected a good man and a Black, South Asian American woman as his VP. I am beyond proud. I am euphoric.

  39. SamC says:

We had a small earthquake in southern New England this morning and first thought was even Earth was celebrating, lol!

Anchorage, AK had some small earthquakes, too. Earth celebrating sea to shining sea, lol! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Ha! I live in Mexico and the president of my country is such a coward he hasn’t had the guts to congratulate Biden.
He is afraid of what the orange menace might do. He (our president)!was acting like he was going to defend Mexico blah blah and when he got to meet Trump, he was docile and “such a good boy”. Shameful.
I am considering renovating my visa now, even tho most of my (White assimilated Mexican) family up there voted red, I can visit the normal ones.

    • Lady D says:

I believe Trudeau was among the first to congratulate Joe and Kamala, and I couldn’t help but wonder what that might mean for Canada who has to deal with the spiteful baby for another very long 73 days.
I don’t know the Mexican president well, but he sucked up hard enough to Trump to get Mexico listed second on the new trade agreement. President Obrador looked very pleased with himself at the news conference. Trump was so petty over NAFTA it was pathetic.

In 2006 he refused to accept the results of the election which he lost back then. he and his party organized a protest in the most important avenue of the capital, which they kept closed for over a month while the recount happened. I think this, stupidly was one of the reasons he is refusing, that, and that Kushner seems to have a funny grip or influence on the government.

I believed that he lost back then, his influence was very centralized in certain spots, and 12 years later he finally won due to people rejecting the other parties, I was one who voted for him this time, out of reject to the reforms that were being done by the tear parties as a block by the president and congress, but now, except for a few things here and there, I am remorseful.
For example this, refusing to recognize Biden, and that he lives in a permanent campaign, instead if governing, similar to your 45.

So much joy!!! As an American, it feels good to see people all over the globe celebrating too. We’re all connected!

This is such a relief! I want federal marshalls at the White House by January 20 to insure that the pig & his family leave without vandalizing the White House. Even better would be the service of a subpoena from SDNY waiting by the slug’s departure vehicle.
Wanna bet the pig grants pardons to his incarcerated pals on his way out?
I am incurably baffled by any support this heap of lard gets from Latinos. Don’t they care that he abuses people from their native countries with his immigration & border wall policies & actions?
I’m equally confounded by the support he gets from evangelical Christians who ignore his many violations of the 10 commandments. The heinous heap “bears false witness” innumerable times a day, to say nothing of his amorality.
Does anyone believe that his offspring have any chance of political careers? I want them all to go live in Dubai or somewhere similar & never set foot on US soil again. I also send darkest wishes to Lindsey Graham & Mitch McConnell.

  43. Edna says:

So overjoyed and happy. The stress and anxiety has finally lifted. Now, we just have to get through the next 2 months. One scary thing I read is that Trump and company are trying to get the electors to switch and cast their votes for him instead of Biden.

    • Anna says:

I read that as well. He has no merit for it – but it still giving me anxiety. Trump is doing everything in his power to steal the election.

    • Veronica S. says:

They can do whatever they want. The millions more of us that voted will show up on their doorstep to make them answer for it if they even dare to try.

  44. Veronica S. says:

I’m wary of what the next two months will bring, but it convinced me it’s time to go back to work in PA. We’ve got a governor and a Senate seat up for grabs in 2022, and it’s time to start laying the groundwork now. Now that we’ve surpassed Illinois for population and proven to swing, we’re going to be getting LOTS of attention. Good time to start examining issues in the state.

  45. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Joe and Jill went up the hill
To start to heal the nation.
    Trump went down
    (That evil clown)
    To face incarceration.

Happy dance happy dance happy dance. I’ve had the best two days reading publications the world over express relief and congratulations. Like in the UK, “Sleepy Joe Wakes America!” Bam. The only place shit stain will be able to show his ugly mug is on a tree stump in the middle of the Appalachians.

  46. Leah says:

Still so excited and elated for them.

    Go Joe, go Kamala!

  47. megs283 says:

They said we would be rioting. Instead, we’re dancing in the streets.

  48. BountyHunter says:

I’ve been elated for days. It was so touch and go for awhile. I live in MI, a “battleground” state, and my whole family are Trump supporters, including my nieces and nephew which breaks my heart.
I’m just so relieved and happy. Proud of everyone who helped oust the crackpot tyrant. Proud of President Biden and Vice President Harris. Eager for change. Can’t stop smiling.
