Prince Harry didn’t publicly acknowledge his father’s 72nd birthday

Prince Charles turned 72 years old on Saturday. I didn’t hear of any parties or anything, which is great because we’re still in the middle of a pandemic. So, it seemed like a subdued birthday for Charles, perhaps spent with his wife Camilla, at a small birthday dinner at his country home or maybe even in London, at Clarence House, a few days before the event. Charles actually spent his birthday traveling to Germany for some European Remembrance events. His birthday was subdued online too, with the Royal Family social media and the Kensington Palace social media only posting some old photos of Charles.

All of which begs the question: did Prince Harry say anything publicly about his dad’s birthday? Nope.

Prince Charles was showered with social media best wishes from throughout the royal family on his 72nd birthday Saturday — with the exception of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex did not publicly wish his dad a happy birthday, The Sun reported.

The couple, who stepped down as “senior” royals this year, may have sent private wishes, the report noted.

I don’t know, maybe if Buckingham Palace hadn’t forced the Sussexes to give up their SussexRoyal Instagram, they would have sent a birthday message publicly. And if they had, they would have been bashed for that as well. No, I’m sure Harry probably called his father or did something to acknowledge the day.

It’s hard publicly wish happy birthday to your father when you haven’t an IG profile.

    • Amen Loretta! But obviously, the Royal Rota Rats think Harry is capable of putting a personal message on a non-existent media platform. And, if Harry had released something publically, the RRR would have found fault there too. I have no doubt that Harry and Meghan and Archie wished Charles the best privately. It’s what 99,99 percent of the rest of the world’s private citizens do and, after all, Harry is no longer a senior royal, but a private citizen.

  2. Seraphina says:

I agree, Harry probably did call or something but not using social media is a brilliant move.
The palace should have recreated the black and white photo and had Charles sit in his mothers lap.

  3. Mignionette says:

The picture of Hazza and Chuck in Tuxedo’s literally blows away all the rumours around parentage. He is Chuck’s son – lol

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I know people who believe wholeheartedly that Harry is not Chuck’s son even though Harry was around 2 years old when she met Hewitt (and also because Harry is the spit of his grandfather as a young stud). They are also the same people who believe Phillip had her offed for her relationship with Dodi. And yes these are people who believe whatever the Daily Fail prints and are Brexit supporters.

    • Nic919 says:

I agree. Even if the prince phillip magazine cover wasn’t available this really shows the resemblance between father and son.

What is sad is that rumour about Harry’s father was used to hurt Diana, but it lingers to hurt Harry. This is an instance where a specific denial should have been made by the BRF.

    • Courtney B says:

He is dead on for the young Philip. Even their baby pictures show the resemblance. There wouldn’t be any rumors if Harry didn’t have red hair. He looks more like his father and grandfather than William. And I’m glad or the rumors would be far worse.

  4. Snuffles says:

Well, gee whiz, the last public thing he did to honor people was ripped to shreds. They would just get ripped to shreds for “stealing focus” if they did anything publicly.

    • L4frimaire says:

Agree. They always get upset and call it pr whenever the Sussexes say anything about the royals. The wreath episode made that crystal clear. I’m sure they sent a nice card and flowers. I won’t be surprised that going forward, all those things like birthday wishes, or Christmas cards are no longer made public because they don’t have to. All those people anticipating some Sussex Christmas card this year ( and some are already mentioning it), may not see anything from them, because it’s their private business and people get all in their feelings about it.

  5. Sofia says:

Yet when the Sussexes say that they have wished someone happy birthday, we get told they’re doing it for attention and that they didn’t need to announce it if they’re being genuine

    • Jegede says:

      Exactly!

      They are screwed either way.

I’m personally happy they don’t have IG anymore.👍👍

    • VS says:

@Charfromdarock has the perfect response below

If they announce that they wished Charles a happy birthday –> they are attention seekers
If they stay quiet –> Meghan prevented H from wishing his own father a Happy Birthday

So damned either way! I am actually happy they don’t have an IG right now; they don’t have to play the birthday nonsense dance

    • Kyliegirl says:

Exactly. I think they purposely did not reveal they wished him Happy Birthday to confirm to people that they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Although, the way Harry and Meghan have been treated by the Firm, especially launching the campaign in the last months that Harry has abandoned the military and the vets I would not be surprised if this was the last straw. The royal family is a vicious bunch and I don’t think anyone on the outside will ever really know or understand what happens behind palace doors. Harry has come close to spilling and it is chilling. When he said “if you knew what I know” and other sentiments, you know they are not the loving family the PR machine portrays. They came for his mother, they came for his wife, now they are coming for him. Glad Harry broke the cycle for his family. Looking forward to watching the monarchy self-implode.

  6. Charfromdarock says:

Cue the stories of Meghan not allowing Harry to say Happy birthday to his father.

As with everything, the Sussex’s are damned if the do, damned if they don’t.

  7. Becks1 says:

I love the line about how he may have sent private wishes. Gee, do you think its possible?!!

  8. Noki says:

That Kensington pic is awful,he looks too pink and for thelife of me i still cant understand people with means living with such horrible buttery teeth.

  9. Louise177 says:

I forgot who’s birthday it was but was sometime in the summer. Harry and Meghan released a statement and got attacked for trying to steal the attention. No matter what they do it’s attacked.

  10. ABritGuest says:

Oh so publicly acknowledging a special day is expected now? As I said would have similar headlines if Harry hadn’t publicly acknowledged Remembrance Sunday

  11. Oh says:

I noticed that he didn’t acknowledge Chuck’s birthday lol, he acknowledge Liz’s and Philip’s birthdays but not Chuck’s, anyway, that is what he deserves. I hope the Sussexes ignore this racist family and they don’t acknowledge their birthdays all without exception when they create their new Instagram

  12. BnLurkN4eva says:

They are no longer working royals, were forced to give up their Sussex royal instagram, so have no social media to discretely wish anyone anything. In order to wish Charles a HB publicly, they would have had to send it out to the media and would absolutely have been criticized if they had. H/M will just need to live their best lives and ignore the noise.

  13. Amy Bee says:

No one knows the state of their relationship at the moment so it’s just a guessing game as to whether Harry sent greetings or not. Although I think it would have been leaked to the tabloids if Harry didn’t call Charles for his birthday.

  14. RoyalBlue says:

see the BM thought that H&M would have opened up personal Instagram or other social media accounts when they were forbidden from using SussexRoyal, but that never happened so now they are struggling for content.
