Jason Sudeikis’s current love life resembles a future plotline for ‘Ted Lasso’

The 29th Annual IFP Gotham Awards-Red Carpet

Jason Sudeikis has been in England for a month or two, hard at work on Ted Lasso Season 2. I’ve mentioned before that I came to Ted Lasso kind of late, but I’m a believer now: I completely love that show and Sudeikis is great in it. These aren’t spoilers – it’s not that kind of show – but Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, an American college football coach who is brought in to coach a Premier League football (soccer) team. Lasso is having marriage troubles and he gets into some wonderful career/personal hijinks throughout Season 1. So pardon me if I think this particular story from Page Six reads exactly like a potential plot point from Season 2: Lazz Meets a Glamour Model.

Jason Sudeikis is moving on from his split with Olivia Wilde — and her new relationship with superstar singer Harry Styles — by spending time with a well-known British glamour model. The former “Saturday Night Live” star — who is currently filming his Apple TV show “Ted Lasso” in London — has grown close to Page 3 model Keeley Hazell in the wake of his split with Wilde, sources in London confirmed to Page Six.

Sudeikis’ relationship with Hazell, which was first revealed by the UK’s Sun, is going well, and he even named a character in “Ted Lasso” after the model, a star of The Sun’s Page 3, before their relationship turned from friendship into something more. On the show, actress Juno Temple plays a Page 3 model name Keeley, the kind-hearted girlfriend of a soccer player on the struggling team managed by Sudeikis’ character Lasso.

A source told The Sun, “When Jason found out about his wife and Harry, Keeley was one of the people whom he turned towards. During this time he was understandably devastated, but she was brilliant and incredibly supportive. He invited her to join him for a dinner with mates in LA, and their flirty banter quickly set tongues wagging. They have met up since, but obviously, it’s all very early days.”

The news outlet added, “Jason feels it’s too soon to leap into a new relationship — he is in absolutely no rush — but it’s a case of ‘watch this space.’”

Hazell, now 34, first became famous as a Sun Page 3 girl in 2004. She made her last appearance in those pages in 2009, then focused on launching an acting career. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles, took acting lessons, and began landing roles in movies, including “Like Crazy” alongside Jennifer Lawrence. She is said to have first met Sudeikis, 45, during the filming of his movie “Horrible Bosses 2” in 2014.

What in the world is this timeline? I seriously doubt that Sudeikis had the “Keeley” character named after Keeley Hazell, especially since the character was introduced in Season 1, episode 1. It would be completely bizarre for him to demand that a character have a certain name of a glamour model he sort of knew but was not dating, because AGAIN, he was with Olivia Wilde at the time. As for Jason possibly dating the real Keeley right now… it kind of messes up the PR he got when Olivia ran off with Harry Styles. Jason’s people were insisting that Jason wanted to work on his relationship with Olivia and that he was heartbroken. And now Mr. Broken Heart has been quietly seeing a glamour model – that’s what British people call topless models – for months? Hm. Also: I would assume that the writers named that character “Keeley” because it seems like a pretty common name for British glamour models, which is basically what that character is? As I said, this is a mess, but I can’t wait for this storyline on Ted Lasso.

Keely has had a boyfriend for over a year. Jason’s team already came out with a statement that they’re just friends/coworkers.

Funny how articles keep coming up trying to make Jason look like the bad guy, huh? Even though it’s easy to fact check, and that’s exactly what his team keeps doing.

  2. Sean says:

I have second-hand embarrassment from this entire saga yet I can’t look away. When it all crashes and burns, it’s going to be spectacular.

  3. Kay says:

She is actually a Ted Lasso Cast member. She plays Bex, the second, younger wife of the team’s former owner.

  4. Chaine says:

Why does the article call Olivia his “wife”? I thought they were just long-term engaged. Also, if he’s in England with the glamour model working on his show, and Olivia’s moved in with Harry Styles, who’s watching their kids???

  5. Brittney B says:

This is literally young Rebecca from the show… how did the story pick up THIS much steam before anyone figured that out??!

  6. Lil says:

Keeley Hazell is in Ted Lasso as Bex, the young fiancée of the slimy former club owner- I could see the creators renaming the Juno Temple character ‘Keeley’ after the real Keeley joined the cast. Keeley H over here in the UK was the prototype Page 3 model, the most famous of them, an influencer type before Instagram.

Doesn’t mean they’re dating, though I guess they could be. The whole saga is a mess.

I’m slightly obsessed with the show. Zipped through the whole thing in two days. I actually thought after the pilot episode that they might be setting up Ted and show Keeley down the line but they definitely didn’t go down that route. Jason might be but Ted doesn’t really seem the glamour model type!

My husband and I watched all of “Ted Lasso” while we were snowed in. Best series we’ve seen in a long time. It definitely deserves all of the acclaim it’s been getting. We’re looking forward to season 2!

I have nothing to add but I just love Ted Lasso. I’m not a fan of Jason, but he’s wonderfully delightful in it. And all the supporting characters are great. Can’t wait for season 2.
