The Queen probably won’t give Prince Harry’s military patronages to William

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Most of the royal and royal-press hissy fits from the past year have been solely about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex outmaneuvering everyone. Harry and Meghan called a lot of bluffs, they moved to California, and they proceeded to WIN. One of the very few ways that the Windsors and the media could still “hurt” Harry was through his commitment to the military and veterans community. So that became the subject of so many increasingly hysterical stories and threats of punitive action: the Queen will force Harry out of his royal patronages and strip him of his military titles. Because the Queen is petty and horrible. Harry probably won’t even be able to wear his dress uniforms anymore. An extra layer to all of this was the feeling that Prince William was now going to step into Harry’s former military roles, because William has always wanted what Harry has, but William doesn’t want to work for any of it. Now the Sun reports that it’s actually sort of unlikely that the Queen will give those patronages to William though:

The Queen is set to make the final decision on who takes over Prince Harry’s honorary military titles and patronages. Royal insiders fear reigniting a brotherly row if William is handed Harry’s most treasured role of Captain General of the Royal Marines.

Princess Anne is widely expected to become the first female head of the marines, adding to her 33 honorary military titles. However, Prince Edward is ruled out as he quit the elite force after only three weeks of commando training in 1987.

Finishing touches are being put in place for the couple’s future life outside the Royal Family after a 12-month review was ordered. Palace chiefs will make a public announcement several weeks before the March 31 deadline but their replacements will not be named until the summer.

A royal source said: “Ultimately, it’s the Queen’s decision. The posts are in her gift.”

William and Harry barely spoke after Megxit with the future king accusing his sibling of “betraying” the Queen.

Another source said: “Who takes over from Harry is a thorny issue in the family so giving the Queen the final say is the right thing to do.”

Harry is set to lose his Royal Marines title, as well as his roles as Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Honington near Bury St Edmunds and Commodore-in-Chief of Small Ships and Diving.

[From The Sun]

It occurs to me that some of those military branches have quietly informed the Palace that they actually have no interest in having Work-Shy Will as their patron. While it “looks good” on paper to have a “future king” as your royal patron, William is close to 40 years old and he has a long history of not wanting to do much with his patronages. I mean, sure, he’ll put in an appearance once every couple of years. But William only really wanted Harry’s military titles because they belonged to Harry. William would do f–k all with them once he got them. The Royal Marines will probably be pretty happy to have Princess Anne though?

Also, this just came out:

LOL, the Queen is trying to make it sound like she had no choice but to punish Harry and Meghan, what could she do, they refused to come back even when it was clear that they would continue to be bullied, harassed, marginalized, slandered and abused. What could the Queen do, people?!?

I raced over here to see your coverage of the queen’s statement. I’m so relieved it’s over. Onwards and upwards to great, happy things for Harry and Meghan!

    • EMF999 says:

Me too! I’m so glad it’s over and wish them peace and harmony in the lives they are carving out for themselves.

I’m not even remotely religious, but this quote sprang to mind “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works”. H&M just keep on shining!

Oh yeah and f*ck the British tabloids and the pettiness in the Royal household.

    • VS says:

It has been over for a year for H&M; they didn’t want this shit show to continue

My question is if this statement was coming, why all the leaks? how can a firm work with so many leak? can you imagine a company with so many leaks with no one getting fired over it?

You do not need to be royal to help; I hope that means the royal gossipers can stop talking about them! they should only cover the working royals and those in the uk!

      • Becks1 says:

I dont know about all the leaks, but Rebecca English is the one who had the story earlier this week that this was coming, and she’s pretty much a direct mouthpiece for the Cambridges (her twitter profile pic is a picture of Will and Kate, I mean, come on…..) so that tells me that William or Kate told her. (she is also the one who leaked their Canada location last year – in November/Dec 2019, when no one knew where they were for sure, there was a meeting at KP and lo and behold, after that, English knows they’re in Canada.)

      • Nic919 says:

Yes Becks, it is notable that she leaked this along with confirmation of the pregnancy. Let’s not forget that Rebecca English is the one who wrote about Kate’s broken Britain project on the Friday before Meghan’s cookbook was launched so once again we have KP involved in shenanigans.

Obviously this was being discussed behind the scenes for a while because the statement confirms that Harry is the one who pulled the plug. He was not told to.

      • AnnaKist says:

I agree, VS. And every time they stick the boot in, it only serves to vindicate Harry and Meghan’s stance, and further illustrates Hi they felt they had to leave. She’s the bloody queen of England, Harry’s granny, and head of the family, but couldn’t sort things out before Harry and Meghan were pushed so far they felt their only option was to leave? And what of Charles? Where did he sit in all of this? Despicable people.

      • Mila says:

Because they are not leaks they are strategically placed stories to rile up and build intrested in the readers of the right wing racist papers that crave blood.

    • Bibi says:

You’re right! I keep being angry and upset for them. This is the last ticket to freedom! Yay!!
…and about william replacing Harry, it would be uncomfortable and he knows he is not adequate to replace Harry anyway

  2. Alexandria says:

Rubbish. Legislatively and constitutionally (correct me if I’m wrong) there is nothing wrong with Harry retaining the military patronages. He would be happy to and he can manage them. But the Palace wants a different (biased) model for the Sussexes so just admit it. Regardless, Harry is mature and is prepared to lose them.

Anne has 33 honorary titles? How many does Harry have?

    Onward Sussex!

    • Elizabeth says:

Oh my god and people will claim Anne deserves thirty-three honorary titles. Just watch, the apologists will crawl out and be defensive.

    • Couch potato says:

Nothing wrong at all! Just plain spite because he wount stay as Will’s whipping boy.

Prince Michael of Kent has his honorary titles while having a consultant business and doing commersial work (including TV documentaries about royals lol). Pedo still has his honorary titles and other royals have business dealings alongside doing royal work. It’s pure evil punishment.

  3. Snuffles says:

Queenie can spin it all she wants, it’s still a petty move.

Meghan and Harry also sent out a statement basically saying they will continue to support as private citizens.

The patronages should inform they Queen they no longer want a royal patron since the others don’t do shit.

    • Mila says:

I have a feeling is going to put up a fight since they desperately wanted to keep Meghan, the rugby league and other patronages too, remember that zoom call Harry did with them in October? Where they gushed about how involved he is and Harry said ‘he will support them as long as he is able too’ he always knew they were going to be lost and it was clear from their reaction they wanted him too.

It actually shows how little the induction royal patronages are for the charity. They are strictly for image

  4. Brit says:

I’m so glad Harry and Meghan are done. At this point, the press will still cover and obsess over them. They can still do good work and lives good lives without the foolishness of palace courtiers and the rota. I’m sure the media will be pissed though because that money train is forever lost. Good for Harry and Meghan.

  5. Who ARE these people? says:

They don’t need to be “royal” to be happy, financially secure, and of service.

Harry likely understood well in advance the price they would try to make him pay for independence and he still forged ahead. His priorities are clear.

    • UptownGirl says:

Yes, Harry was certain that the backlash of his petty grandmother would be hurtful and precise. The fact that she is TQ and did nothing to stop the abuse and the smears against her grandson and his wife tells us that she had no intention of becoming involved with eliminating the actions of her countrymen. When you are faced with members of your own family hurting you, that is inexcusable.
Yet Harry has his priorities straight and he and Meghan will hopefully live free of the continued attacks and persecution, though that’s unlikely. But they are now free to live and do what they please. I wish nothing but the best for Harry and Meghan!! They are such a lovely couple and are truly an inspiration to all of us to be the of service no matter or station in life.

  6. Noki says:

Even though i have no doubt that Oprah and the Sussexes will conduct a tasteful interview,i really question why they(BF & RR )wont atleast pretend to back off and play nice until it airs.

    • Alexandria says:

Because nobody influential is calling for their accountability. The BRF sets the tone for the BM and if the BRF is a racist, non-transparent organisation but they’re still accepted by the UK people then nothing will change.

    • Faye says:

Why should they “back off”? Meghan and Harry haven’t said or done anything to that hateful island since they left and they still get shitted on daily.

Glad they’re doing the interview and that island will continue to be hateful towards them no matter what.

      • heygingersnaps says:

Faye, Noki is talking about the brf and rr’s backing off and playing nice until the interview airs but they won’t because they are too blinded by their hate and greed.

  7. Amy Bee says:

Was it the Oprah interview that finally made the Royal Family realise that they weren’t coming back? And we know that line about much loved members of the family is a lie.

    • Becks1 says:

I really think it was. I think the royal family was under the delusion that they were going to come back (remember they were the ones who insisted on the one year review etc) and I think the Oprah interview probably was the final nail in the coffin – in terms of making them realize “oh, they’re gone.”

    • Mila says:

Exactly lol, if that’s love I don’t want it and please set them free 🤢. They ‘love’ him as far as they can serve him, as much as Britney Spears father loves her. If they could hold some sort of legal right over his life, like a conservatorship they would.

  8. Sofia says:

There are still a few contenders for the military titles: Charles, Anne and even Camilla, Sophie and Kate (I think even the married in royal women get honorary military titles)

As for the patronages, it’s ultimately the charities themselves who will suffer. Other than the Cambridges, none of the other royals have a high enough profile and the Cambridges themselves don’t do much for the patronages in the first place

    • Tessa says:

I don’t think it should be Camilla or Kate.

    • Mila says:

What I am wondering is if they give any of the se patronages to Sophie or Edward then what is gonna happen when the monarchy is slimmed down?? Is that still even happening?

      • Le4Frimaire says:

I don’t think there was ever a plan to really slim down the monarchy. I think they said that when they planned to exile Harry and Meghan around the time just before Archie‘a birth. As for who takes over what patronages, do we really care? How many of us even knew they existed before we started following H&M apart from big names like National Theatre and some of the military branches? Look, the royals will continue doing what they do, they’ve staved off criticism by doing this and shielded Andrew as well. This was dragged out in a way it didn’t have to be, but that was deliberate. The press did the job they were assigned to do. I guess the royals can say mission accomplished.

      • Nic919 says:

Charles originally wanted Edward and Sophie out, after all they were part time for a few years as royals. But Sophie was smart enough to curry the Queen’s favour and so they are safe for now. Sophie and Edward have since benefited from Harry and Meghan officially leaving and we all saw her kiss Cambridge ass at the commonwealth service. So they are probably back in and Charles won’t bother removing them because he knows will and Kate are too lazy to pick up any slack.

The only slim down right now will happen with Andrew’s kids and Edward’s kids.

  9. Becks1 says:

Did anyone think they were going to come back? I mean, everything else aside (Netflix and Spotify deals, Archewell partnerships, etc) the royal family has spent the past year dragging Harry and Meghan in the press (and if its not the family themselves, then they are totally incompetent and incapable of shutting down the courtiers) so why would they want to go back?

I am surprised that they took ACU and QCT from them. Didnt Harry start the QCT? I’ve heard a few different stories about that so not sure which is the most accurate.

    • Becks1 says:

Just adding that I reread the statement and I think its interesting, I think the added part “note for editors” about the patronages is worded very carefully, it seems that someone did realize what a bad look it was to remove the royal patronages so they are trying to get ahead of that criticism. The royals dont often try to get ahead of criticism like that so it makes me think they are actually very aware of what some people are saying about this situation. That statement wasnt meant for the RRs IMO.

      • Amy Bee says:

The only criticism the Queen cares about is the press’ and they’re not going to attack her for doing this. The Note to editors is merely to help them with the reporting of this story.

      • Becks1 says:

Well, I generally agree, but there have been some conversations in the press (outside of the standard rota “the royal family is perfect because they kicked out the black woman” narratives) about how this looks on a global stage – I know because I have seen those conversations – so I do think that someone in the palace is dimly aware of what is being said. It wasnt going to stop the queen from doing what she wanted to do clearly – and even guiding the RRs in their reporting was useless based on some of the headlines about the Sussexes being stripped of their titles.

      • Nic919 says:

Keeping Andrew attached to anything still puts them behind the eight ball. If he gets removed too then that would be them treating non working royals consistently. Until they do that hypocrisy abounds.

    • Amy Bee says:

It would seem that the Royal Family and press still believed that Harry and Meghan would come back and they tried to emotionally blackmail Harry by threatening to take away his military titles to make him come back. I’m not surprised about ACU and QCT they belonged to the Queen before. QCT was an amalgam of the Queen’s Young Leaders and the Diamond Jubilee Trust. Sophie was involved with the latter so she might get it. I said it probably go to Charles before but I think Sophie may be more suited to it.

    • Mila says:

Not even in the slightest, but watching the palace and reporters delusion was hilarious. Clearly they have never actually LISTENED to Harry nor taken him seriously a second in his life, they are so used to fiddling with him any how like a thumb.

  10. Faye says:

The old bat is only hurting the organizations with her pettiness.

Harry and Meghan will find other charities to work with if those organizations aren’t allowed to work with them out of fear from the RF.

  11. Myra says:

I think the wolrd will go back to ignoring the RF as pre-2018. I know that despite this, they will likely still try to bitch about the Sussexes in the months, if not years to come. But I’m glad this chapter is over. Harry and Meghan are now really basically free. They still retain their ducal titles so I’m sure the BM will use this as an excuse to criticise them. I truly hope they don’t attend the Trooping of the Colour or any royal-related events in future and they go on to live their best lives.

    • Kitty says:

So you think the monarchy relevancy has decreased?

      • Myra says:

I think it would eventually go back to how it was pre-2018. Meghan brought a renewed interest into the family, but with her departure, it will likely be back to how it was before she married. Their relevancy in the UK, I’m sure will remain the same. Outside that, it might go back to the same level of appeal in Spanish RF or the Dutch RF. I’m not sure there would be a global audience say for one example – the Commonwealth Service.

      • Kitty says:

Yep i agree they will only be relevant in their home country. If you really want to read about them you have to follow news sites that follow them but I think their global relevancy is gone and will only get smaller. Sad for Will and Kate who wanted to be known everywhere lol

    • Mila says:

Agree, honestly it already feels as if they are starting too, they tried to kick up a fuss and an emotional reponse but know one could give two sticks about Phillip in the hospital or even dying, even if they announce it every 5 seconds.

  12. Who ARE these people? says:

The sniffing in that statement about royalty being “a life of public service” when those people were born into immense wealth, luxury and security. ..please.

Run for office or run a government agency or nonprofit, giving your time and talents while being underpaid and under recognized, then talk to us about a life of public service.

    • SarahCS says:

Or “an hour or two a month of public service and lots of time spent pruning rosebushes and shopping” if we’re going to be a bit more accurate.

    • Mila says:

Even what about the nurses doctors and millitary personal and essential workers who have given their lives to support us this ENTIRE pandemic, most while earning menial wages per hour.

  13. teresa says:

I was watching CNN with my husband when the official announcement was made and he said, “Wow, so this is the origin of our racism!” I didn’t even know he paid attention to any of this!!

    • Mila says:

My mum too! She said the Queen is a petty and vindictive b*tch who clearly doesn’t love Harry, and she isn’t even tuned into to their doings!

      • Nic919 says:

My mom said the same when she heard the military honours were being pulled. She thought it was so petty. I didn’t even think she was aware of what was going on outside of them leaving. The North American news is covering this with less white supremacy outrage that is going on in the UK and so I think the general public over here is not going to think this was handled well by the BRF.

      • Novice says:

The Queen is the Crown. She always puts Crown’s interest above anything else. For her, the smooth transitioning of throne and of her family’s thousand year old legacy is paramount important. Here is what my reading: William is jealousy of his brother’s popularity, so he and his wife started this subtle negative briefing ever since Harry and Megan returned from their Commonwealth/Honey tour. Charles could have done something, but he wants the throne and he wants his wife to sit beside him as a queen when he is crowned as a king. But William gets his father by the ball because William can totally hijack his dream if he briefs his displeasure to the British tabloid by stoking up the Diana sympaphy. So he remains silent and so the Queen remains silent in turn.
High powered families are usually disfunctioning.

    • Christine says:

My Mom too. She knows nothing of anything going on in England, and she was appalled.

  14. tee says:

Finally. I hope they discuss the titles during the interview. Im personally interested in why they still want to use them (recognizing they have every right to).

    • Mila says:

For the interview announcement of CBS’s Twitter they just said ‘Harry and Meghan’, so I assume for more ‘salacious’ events like this they won’t use them, but for charity of final work, and likely production credits they will.

  15. Harper says:

The Fail’s headline is that they are “stripped of their titles” which is wrong but they cannot help lying and spreading false information. Next step will be their patronages issuing releases welcoming Harry as their new American Ambassador for Rugby or Meghan as their new American Ambassador for the Theater Arts, etc. Prince Incandescent will see this as a win and Kate will be asking for the theater patronage for sure.

    • Amy Bee says:

Nah both Rugby patronages and the National Theatre put out statement thanking Harry and Meghan for the service. It’s done.

  16. Bookie says:

Congratulations, Sussexes! Living well is the best revenge and I have no doubt that they will thrive. F* the Royal Family.

  17. Cecilia says:

This proves that the royal family couldn’t care less about their patronages. THEY have expressed their wish to continue working with the sussexes because they think it’s in their best interest and what does the queen do? Right, she refuses to listen to them and strips them away.

    • Mila says:

Exactly, lmao the National Theatre even went as far as to tell the press, likely even after they knew they were loosing them as a last attempt!

  18. SURE says:

How cunning of BP to release this statement on Prince Andrew’s birthday thus minimising any paedo-related commentary about him. The RF go to great lengths to protect an alleged child abuser but waste no time in again abusing a couple who have never been accused of any criminal conduct.

    • VS says:

yet no one is going to be talking about overshadowing him; no one, I am willing to place a lot of money on that!
those gossipers don’t care; they want a story, any story attached to H&M

    • Amy Bee says:

Yeah but now that Harry and Meghan are stripped of their patronages people are asking how come Andrew has not been stripped of his.

  19. Devs says:

All that imperialism, violence and thievery and this is what will bring down the monarchy?
Well whatever I’ll take it and I’m glad Elizabeth can see her empire crumble in real time.
I’m glad they’re not returning, they’re too popular and would only benefit that archaic evil institution.
I hope they can now focus on having a safe and calm pregnancy.
The only thing I’ll miss is Meghan’s outfits, she was just starting to dress better lol. I miss red carpets in general! Sigh.

  20. S808 says:

Sucks for the charities but I’m happy for H&M! There are still plenty of other charities who could benefit from their help.

  21. SarahCS says:

I’ve got the radio on while I work today and this was the lead story on the one o’clock news. Seriously. This is not ‘news’. No one, literally no one thoughts they would come back. Even the most delusional racists, hate-mongers in the press knew in their hearts it wasn’t happening regardless of what they wrote.

I’d like to hope that this allows them to get on with their lives in peace but we all know the BRF and BM won’t allow that to happen because they need H&M.

    • Mila says:

Exactly it’s so embarrassing people need to get a grip! LBC were repeating the bloody fact every 15 seconds!

  22. Merricat says:

I would be very surprised if H&M hadn’t already spoken with their patronages. What a tiny despot that queen is. I hope they’re testing her for dementia every now and again.

  23. Over it says:

Oh f me. What the actual f? It’s a gift . A gift like frogmore cottage that they then had to pay for , I am beginning to think the queen doesn’t know what a gift is. I know she is an uneducated witch but come on. As for William thought Harry disrespected the queen, I never knew he said that . Aww well it’s petty Betty , do we actually give a shit how she feels? And william king in waiting. You are perfect for the job because just like your granny, your a royal f——-ing racist petty deranged bitter asshole.

  24. Over it says:

I am so happy for Harry and Megs. He should sign over the lease of frogmore to his cousin. The Windsors are shits. I would Also send back their duke and duchess titles to them. I won’t visit for anything. They won’t see my children and have no part in my life. They want to cut ties, I would show them how scissors really work. And people I can’t say this enough. Stop acting like the queen is a sweet apple pie granny. She is not , she is a cold hearted bitch.

  25. TheOriginalMia says:

Doesn’t matter who she gives those organizations to, the stain of her pettiness will linger.

  26. Ali says:

So upsetting. I used to admire British royal family a lot but my respect to them no is almost zero. Not sure why the media in my country is heavily biased to them 🤦🏼‍♀️

  27. Kalana says:

I don’t think the military brass like William all that much.

    • Mila says:

Neither, I don’t doubt they find him to be a bit of a twat, and would likely ignore him if he became their patron

  28. Tinkerbelly says:

Petty Betty and her clan need to be abolished. Their wealth, based on theft, murder and racism, needs to be stripped from those evil vampires and given back to the colonies it was stolen from. They are an ugly disgrace, undeserving of ANY praise whatsoever. All of them. Except M&H.

  29. February-Pisces says:

I think Willie will be circling round harrys military patronage’s so the media can brag about it. Same with Keen, she will want meghans because she will see it as a sort of victory, not that she will actually do anything for them, other than maybe zoom them once every 8 years.

Anyway I’m happy that harry and Meghan have their freedom, but not happy for those charities who will be the ones who lose out.

Coincidentally I did a tarot reading this morning about how the queen felt about the whole situation, and I wanted to know why she never helps the Sussex’s. Ultimately it all boils down to Willie and keen, they are well and truly behind them leaving (lol we knew that already), and she is absolutely furious with the Keens because of it. I don’t know why that stops her from helping harry and Meghan, but I think that it all boils down to the future being in willies hands, cos In the outcome I had the Chariot (cancer card the reps Willie) and the 10 of pentacles (family fortune and business). If the Keens are punished for what they have done, it could effect the future of the firm, hence why she gives them as pass.

She’s sad harry left, but she’s not mad, atleast not with them. She’s kinda torn, a part of her is glad they are doing well, but she kinds hopes that if they don’t they will come back.

But I absolutely believe that the queen is beyond done with the Keens (the devil, and 10 of swords). She has to keep up the pretence that all is well, but she won’t forgive them for that they have done.

    • harla says:

What an interesting reading February-Pisces!! I don’t know if I agree that if W&K are punished for what they have done that it will affect the future of the monarchy unless Wills is threatening to leave too. Imho, the queen has been a weak and ineffective leader during this entire situation, she allowed the tabloids to bully her grandson and his family without one word of support, she allowed her staff to leak the most outrageous bull with impunity and now it appears that she can’t manage her other grandsons frail ego and temper. The queen needs to step down.

      • February-Pisces says:

That’s what I wanted to find out, why she has done nothing. The cards didn’t really answer that other than it’s because of the Keens. She definitely blames them, she also think Willie is quite smug about it (9 of cups). The Keens have strengthened their position by getting rid of harry and Meghan, and they know it, which makes them act in such a cocky way. With the Sussex’s gone and people feeling nothing more than apathy for Charles and Camilla, the Keens and their kids are pretty much it now. Plus all the Andrew business.

Betty is in a tight spot, but it doesn’t excuse why she never once stuck up for harry and Meghan. The closest we got was her statement when they announced they left. My guess is she’s listening to very bad advice. Plus I doubt she sees any of the support they actually get as it’s mostly on social media, so is completely unaware of how bad her family look.

      • CatWomen says:

The Queen needs to step down yesterday. Took the words out of my mouth.

      • notasugarhere says:

February-Pisces, it goes along with my thoughts that the Queen and Charles are afraid of William, emotionally threatened and bullied by him, etc.

For the survival of their privileged lives and the monarchy, they kowtow to his threats because they cannot deal with his whiplash temperament and abuse.

    • Snuffles says:

Agreed. Honestly, I think the entire family blames the Keens. The only thing stopping them from coming after them is that the whole institution is predicated on supporting the HEIRS. If they admit that the Keens ain’t shit, it all falls apart.

      • JT says:

At the “new firm” photo-op the queen completely ignored W&K. Most of the damage, if not all, came from KP. I think the queen’s and Charles’s lack of effort came from the tried and true Windsor stance of always supporting the heir. It’s complete bullshit and they could have absolutely reigned in W&K. Charles has nothing to lose. He’s been unpopular with the public for 20 years now, most of his dirty laundry has been aired, he could’ve supported H&M. The queen is Teflon at this point, she should’ve have nipped this in the bud. Nobody would’ve argued with her if she gave her support to the Sussexes. The keens have put the RF in a bind going forward and they are already paying for it.

      • JT says:

W&K aren’t going anywhere though. All they have is the crown. Do people really think they will leave and give it up? They need to some consequences. Somebody make them work more, that’ll be the real punishment. Force William and Kate to get off the asses and do at least 400 engagements a year. Hold the PPOW titles over their head until they earn them. Something.

      • February-Pisces says:

I agree that Willie and keen need karma to come back round, cos they will never learn. I’m sure Willie is always threatening to walk, but they would never leave, especially Kate who would literally chain herself to the gates at BP if she had to.

But the public could turn on them, which half have already. I think once the public has something solid to go on regarding their involvement, it will ruin the illusion that they are “so perfect’. I think people genuinely believe they are so wholesome and once the mask comes off, everything about that whole family will look like a lie. It’s the same if willies affair became public.

I think Charles only cares about his own reign, I don’t think he gives af about willies, but he also needs Willie to retain his popularity because if he doesn’t, then they might as well call the whole thing off when the queen dies.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I agree with your reading as that is how I see the situation – she has put the Monarchy before her family, she has put the heirs heir above everyone else but ti will all be in vain as Willie will burn it to the ground anyway.

it will be interesting to see the dynamic between the Keens and Chuck when he is King – i suspect nothing will change as Chuck won’t stand up to them like his mother.

The Keens behaviour is only going to get worse, toward not just Chuck but the rest of the family – they need scapegoats to hide their own dysfunction.

If the Keens can’t feed the press beast that beast will turn on them and do TQ’s dirty work for her.

      • February-Pisces says:

I think the courtiers keep a lot of what’s going on from the queen. Older people have no idea what’s going on online or on socials so she probably has no idea how popular harry and Meghan really are and how much backlash the Keens do get and that people have caught on to their smear campaign. My mum who is only in her 60s thinks literally everyone in the world hates Meghan but loves kate, based on the fact she gets her information only from TV.

So I do think those courtiers are probably telling her things that aren’t quite accurate. She may believe that the Keens are so beloved and they the entire future of the monarchy rests on them. They probably tell her how much everyone hates harry, and how the public would be delight if she strips him of his medals.

But judging from her reaction to them in the Christmas photo op, she hates them. I was surprised she completely ignored them in public, which is shocking coming from her.

I do think she needs to bring them down a peg or two because they are going to run riot once she’s gone. Who knows what they would actually do, but I think Charles needs to watch his back.

    • Amy Too says:

I think that devil and ten of swords is her being worried that William is going to run his chariot directly over her and Charles if she attempts to reign him in a bit more.

Also wondering if the chariot and the 10 of pentacles in the “why isn’t she doing anything?” Is more like she sees that Harry and Meghan will be MORE successful on their own. Making their own money, setting up their own business and legacy. The chariot is also sometimes seen as a person reaching maturity and going out into the world for the first time. Or to a new job or something. Riding out of the castle (which is symbolized by the 10 of pentacles as well). I think she knows this is the hard thing but the right thing for Harry bc she doesn’t trust William (could also be the chariot) with the family money and business (10P) to take care of H and M. Or she worries William will run it into the ground (10 of P mirroring/leading to 10 of swords because of the Devil—William as devil, devil as vices, devil as cheating/drinking/anger/violence, Devil as William and Kate feeling pissed since they’re chained to the pedestal of the RF) and then where will Harry be? Harry and Meghan could also be the people chained to the devil’s pedestal in the Devil card—stuck with William. The Queen has set up all of her own kids with money, their kids are taken care of bc they’re not planning on being working royals. Harry was always told to and planned on being a working royal, to the point where for awhile it would have only been him and Meghan and will and Kate. And if most of the family money goes to William, what will Harry do if stayed as a working royal and then it all came down when he was 60 years old and past his peek earning years.

Sad for the Charities, so glad all this nonsense is over, will she do it or not for a whole frigging year, this is what she will most be remembered for, along with ignoring Diana’s death, 65 years on a throne what is her greatest accomplishment?
She is a terrible mother and grandmother.

    • Nyro says:

A terrible matriarch and the source of all of this mess, including ruined lives and a tragic death. Hereditary rule is nonsense. This woman should have been a professional dog walker and a horse groomer, not the head of state! Like, wtf?!

  31. Snuffles says:

    @JT

I think what William is ultimately after is the money. The Queen and Charles inheritance is CONSIDERABLE, hundreds of millions, maybe even billions.

They want that money and they want to change the role of royalty in a way that it will limit how much work they need to do. They want to do half assed ideas and basically use their poorly conceived projects to grift the taxpayers money.

If the Queen really wants to punish the Cambridges for what they have done, I would cut William out (or limit the amount SEVERELY) of her will and put the bulk of his share in a trust for his kids. She should also distribute the rest evenly to her other grand children and great grandchildren. And I include Harry and his kids in that equation.

    • JT says:

This seems like it could be the only course of action against him: hold the money above his head. The way he is allowed to operated is actually extremely damaging to the crown. I’m surprised with all of the queen’s talk of putting the monarchy above all else, that she can’t see William is hurting it. KP is constantly at war with the other courts, ruining their messaging, leaking about the others. KP is making them look inconsistent. This on top of the their laziness is a problem that needs to be dealt with. I just can’t believe they don’t have a better plan to deal with William other than brace ourselves. This is poor management.

      • Nyro says:

I think William’s got them by the balls by holding Diana over their heads. I think he knows or believes that they were involved in Diana’s death and that if he doesn’t get his way, he’ll tell all. It’s the only thing I can think of to explain why William and his wants and desires, no matter how damaging, seem to take precedence over the crown itself.

  32. HeatherC says:

I wonder if instead of a 4th baby, Kate will be rewarded with some honorary military titles. Then she gets a full uniform she can theme dress with! Her fake medals will be affixed by buttons, lots of pretty shiny buttons! Maybe she’ll get a tassel too.

    • Merricat says:

You mean all this time, Kate has been dressing for the job she wants? Lmao

      • HeatherC says:

Well the fake job she is keen to be keen about on special days where photographers are present. She’s already practicing I bet.

  33. Well Wisher says:

The Sussexes are royal in name only. Now that it is done and the BRF followed orders from their owners, unlike the UK population. What would the headlines be? This announcement lays bare the ‘powers that be’. The Sun has been actively reporting on this in definite terms? Why? How? the when is simple – Tim Shippman’s article? Who? Who is being blamed for this?
Some of the recent bits mentioned recently is being clarified. The documentary stating that Carol Middleton will have a greater influence in the Cambridges children’s lives that PC. The announcement that W uses the Queen’s home near Almer Hall, Angela Levin dig at the dysfunctional Wales as she affirms K undying love and support for her husband and the strange item about the Cambridges needing to have another child and most importantly Penny Junor’s commitment to the NYT.
Harry has been consistent in protecting his family, as part of and ‘head’ of , but the Queen stopped listening. Why? A possibility, protecting a senior member who had been compromised by his wife?

As per Penny Junor’s response – the BTM wants to control H in order to sell him. They want to be able to sell his family as there is a demand. They crave control although they have the political power. They are mean spirited and vindictive.

The Sun’s owner Murdoch wants Harry to disengage from the collective lawsuit against the defunct NOTW. They do not want the case in court as it will expose their wrong doings. They played their trump card. The testing ground was the clerical error in King Archie’s birth certificate, the palace folded. So they pressed on, but the palace could not deliver unless H returned to the fold. He refused. BP followed their instructions. But why? Who are they protecting? Who compromised the BRF? Not Harry nor Meghan? Who will be the new fall guy?
One thing is certain- Will all end in tears?

    • HeatherC says:

All true. And also reads like a treatment to a prime time soap I would watch the hell out of.

    • Cerise says:

“BP followed their instructions. But why? Who are they protecting? Who compromised the BRF? ”

Oh, I think that is perfectly clear, just read any article about the RF in the past 3 years. There is only ONE person who gets perfect marks for “never putting a foot wrong”… when we all know that is not true.

This is not the first time the RF has had to live with the cat amongst the pigeons…

For all intents and purposes when the Sussexes are “removed” (and they will be because that was the intention all along) the House of Windsor will crumble…

  34. Jay says:

If the Sussexes are still supporting or doing any work for these organizations voluntarily, that should give some of the, er, less work-focused members of the family pause.

How humiliating would it be to take on a patronage and be consistently outworked and outshone by the exiles from across the pond? There would be constant comparisons and side by sides of various engagements and who wore what for many years to come. I’m sure William’s ego couldn’t abide the visual contrast.

By that reasoning, my money is on Sophie getting some of these- at least she’ll show up!

  35. Nyro says:

The queen is an asshole. I hope Jill Biden scoops up Harry to co-chair whatever she decides to do with veterans. Jill was heavily involved in Michelle Obama’s Joining Forces initiative and she’s the mother of a veteran herself so I know she’ll be making veterans a huge part of her work as First Lady. JB would make the queen look so damn small and hateful and weak. Show that old bat and her sycophants what real power and service looks like. And Harry would be incredible at it and bring mass attention.

  36. Pinkybear says:

If Charles was smart with PR, once Petty kicks the bucket, he should award the honorary titles and patronage’s back to the Sussexes. Heck I hope he is “caught” in Montecito with Camilla after Meghan gives birth.

    • L4frimaire says:

Charles is a coward and very much old school. I think the patronages are done and won’t be surprised if some remain vacant until Williams kids grow up. I think Edward and Sophie will pick up the slack with the non military ones, while some others will have to go to William. I think there is no doubt now the amount of hatred they have for Harry’s wife. I think if her father had been there for her, instead of betrayed her, things may have been slightly different.

    • Mila says:

Charles thinks pandering to Kate and Willie is beneficial, but it will only be his downfall. They were once again be estranged in 1-2 years, and he will be out of any grandchildren. I have no doubt the Cambridge kids are being taught to hate him and will fall into Caroles arm’s. He might as well hand the crown to her

  37. Margaret says:

The queen can give all the patrons to the rest of the clan if she wants to, but these people can’t handle the charities they already have.
Don’t fool yourselves the queen, with her cold
and hateful self is part and parcel of all the smearing.

When harry and meghan returned from the oceanic tour, harry was polling most popular royal even higher than old evil a$$ betty, now we can’t have that can we. By the way Charles is not the only

    • L4frimaire says:

I think their definition of “ handle” is very different from ours. They’ll get the patronages with much fanfare, there will be a few visits, and then back to business as usual. They will double down on the same traditional approach they always take.

  38. Ksweet says:

Maybe they’ll go to Anne for safekeeping until Charles can give them back. Just wondering aloud whether that might be some leverage for Charles down the road.

  39. Christine says:

“Royal insiders fear reigniting a brotherly row if William is handed Harry’s most treasured role of Captain General of the Royal Marines.”

Hey, “royal insiders”, guess what? All siblings disagree, and fight. I am one of three. My twin brothers were born a year after me, and we are well into middle age and we LOVE “rowing” with each other, because other people don’t really know how to handle our dynamic, and that is absolutely as it should be. We get each other.

There are two people, in the whole world, who know the entirety of my life. We know each others’ buttons, and we jump up and down on them, when we need to. That is part of being a family. I would die for either of my brothers.

This stupid quote illustrates, again, some more, etc….that neither the insiders, or the royal family, have a grip on reality.

  40. Noor says:

Why should Prince William be incandescent with rage when his brother Harry step back from being a senior working royal. Surely as a father he may later face the same problem with Charlotte and Louis.

Why the Royal family did not issue a statement about the various media accusations that Prince Harry has betrayed and disrespect the Queen. This is a serious accusation that the Queen can easily shut down.

  41. mlouise says:

the risk is now that one of the charities/org ‘leak’ or let it be known that the ‘royal’ patron the Queen will hand these patronages to, is not seen as someone who will help and can fit the shoes of the patron they lost.

One day people will speak uo the truth- lies and smokey screens require a LOT of work for people to be afraid of speaking truth/ then bang! one day, all hell break lose.

  42. Gemma says:

I think princess Anne is by far the hardest working royal and would be a great replacement. Ultimately what’s done is done and H@M will be successful no matter what.
