Newsmax anchor attacks elderly First Dog Champ Biden for being ‘dirty’

President Joe Biden with his dogs Major and Champ in the Rose Garden

We knew Champ Biden was an older dog, but even I was surprised by just how much he’s showing his age. In the video of President Biden and Madame First Lady Dr. Biden looking at the “valentines” she had strewn on the White House lawn, it was clear that Champ Biden has had a difficult winter. He has a limp, he looks like he has arthritis, and he finds walking up elevations kind of hard. Still, Champ’s mom and dad take good care of him and his annoying little brother Major always has his back. So…. yeah, imagine being such a terrible fascist that you would go on television to hate on an elderly dog.

First of all, Champ doesn’t look dirty at all? It’s literally just his brown coloring and some grey fur which makes him look a bit dusty. Both Champ and Major look like they’re well taken care of, with regular baths and brushes. I bet Dr. Jill even checks for eye boogs. Anyway, yeah, what terrible people. Their attacks on Hunter Biden continue to fall flat. Dr. Jill is a super-popular FLOTUS. So they try to attack President Biden through his elderly DOG.

This was just pathetic and nasty, and the presidential historians who actually participated in the conversation and AGREED with the anchor should be embarrassed.

    • Elizabeth says:

Craig Shirley is not so much a historian as he is a Reagan crony and fundraiser who became a Reagan hagiographer.

      • Ann says:

Right, but he’s a semi-serious author so it’s really not a good look for him.

      • Joan Rivers says:

The dog may be feeling his age. He could even be not well and they don’t want to talk about it right now. I wouldn’t tell the world if my dog were ill.

Right wingers aren’t always so youthful and gorgeous either, they really don’t want to be so mean.

    • Julia says:

I can’t even be bothered to watch this, but what? Historians were on air and agreed with the points raised? Every time I think we’ve reached unbeatable high level of stupidity, but apparently not – SMH

    • Juls says:

The only things that are dusty are these 3 dried up crusty turds. I’m shocked they can even talk without crumbling into stinky dust.

    • Mac says:

They are trying to deflect from Ted Cruz leaving his little poodle, Snowflake, alone in a freezing house while the family jaunted off to Cancun. Whataboutism at its most stupid.

      • Chica says:

Republicans kill old people..cuts to Medicare, SS and Obamamcare , not sure why anyone think differently about dogs, Remember Cult#45 didn’t have a pet either

    • Elizabeth Phillips says:

Yeah, Greg Kelly is a jack!ss. How he continues to have a job I don’t know.

  2. Lightpurple says:

Champ is a good boy! A handsome good boy! And very senior for his breed. Those newsmax guys are nasty and know nothing about dogs.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

Newsmax is awful and I hope they never become a thing that gets covered regularly.
      Champ is the best boy!

    • LillyfromLillooet says:

      +1

    • Noodle says:

Yes! German Shepherds are working dogs. They protect farmland; they protect police officers and military forces; they protect their humans and families. He’s not “Presidential”? What is more Presidential than protecting whom he has been entrusted? He is the goodest of boys and gets all the treats and pets today.

      • StormsMama says:

        Noodle
        AGREED!!
What dog is more presidential than a breed of dog that is literally a police dog and military dog all across this country. This coming from supposed blue lives matter /respect the military cons.
But really they’re just CONS. It’s all a con. Bc we “libs” care more about people, dogs, environment…
I mean the absolute idiocy and mental gymnastics needed to tolerate this kind of ugly nasty rhetoric is tedious and tiresome.

    • Maida says:

Yes, we have a shepherd who is about 8, and even she looks shaggy sometimes because shepherds shed pretty much constantly and tend to have a heavy undercoat. It’s just vile that the Newsmax guy felt the need to (figuratively) kick an old dog.

  3. Bibi says:

    R U SERIOUS
wasting time criticizing a elderly dog? Shame shame shame omg

    • Esmom says:

It’s mind boggling, especially considering how much legit criticism there was for Trump that they worked overtime to minimize and spin. Instead, this is what they come up with. It’s abhorrent.

      • whatWHAT? says:

yeah, this is what gets me the most.

I mean, picking on an old dog is terrible anyway, but to combine it with the lack of criticism of the previous admin’s HORRIBLE behavior is a total “I feel like I’m taking crazy pills” moment.

it’s along the lines of a tan suit, or liking fancy mustard. THE. OUTRAGE.

“oh, the previous guy made fun of disabled people, veterans, poor people, minorities…so what?! THIS guy has an old dog, I mean, how can he show his face in the Oval?!”

    • Seraphina says:

When you want to show how truly bottom of the barrel you are, you begin to attack animals.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

      👆🏻 This 👆🏻

    • Tiffany :) says:

      Seriously, shame on them.

We need MORE people to love and support their aging doggies. It breaks my heart when I hear of abandoned elderly dogs, and comments like this guy’s just make it worse.

Seeing the Biden family support their elderly dog makes me like them MORE, not less.

  4. Elizabeth says:

Republicans find it SO hard to hide their utter lack of compassion. Champ is a sweetie.

    • AnnaKist says:

As well as their stupidity and wilful ignorance.

    • Agirlandherdog says:

This. I’m glad I took a break from the news this weekend because had I seen this story, I would have been a rage monster all weekend. People like this f***** are why shelters are packed with senior dogs.

      • Blondems says:

@Agirlandherdog Exactly. ‘Oh, a bit harder to take care of? Not as ‘fun’ or cute? Off to the shelter!’ I have a whopping NINE rescues because people are assh*les. Not that I don’t adore all of my dogs (deaf chihuahua, Great Dane, some pit mixes and an oversized lab mix that I adopted at 10 years old), but my life would be so much more relaxed if I didn’t feel like I had a responsibility to help due to other people being selfish and horrible.

      • Agirlandherdog says:

I told my husband my retirement plan is to adopt senior shelter dogs, so I can give them the absolute best life for however long that may be. He wasn’t excited, but he didn’t say no…

  5. cassandra says:

12 is pretty darn old for a dog that size, and he is beautiful!

24 hour news channels are the death of society*

    * 2020 has made me old and crotchety before my time

    • Esmom says:

Right, seems like they completely miss the fact that he’s lived this long precisely because he’s been well taken care of and not neglected. I could scream at the insanity.

    • Christin says:

      I’m right there with you.

Do some people think dogs have some fountain of youth to avoid the effects of aging? They have a lot of the same issues as humans, and don’t look or feel like they did in their younger days.

I’ve had the honor of caring for several senior dogs, and they can teach us a lot about aging gracefully.

      • Miranda says:

My dad will be turning 80 next week, and he recently said that our 10-year-old Irish Wolfhound (average breed lifespan: 6-8 years) is his aging role model. Partly because he’s still happy and playful, but mostly because he’s doing a brilliant job of milking the sympathy and servitude of his humans.

  6. DeltaJuliet says:

OK, this makes me unreasonably angry. Picking on an old DOG? WTF people.

  7. Tiffany says:

Was that even a picture of Champ that was used?

  8. Miranda says:

I think this calls for a “Fala speech” from President Biden.

(For those who don’t know, back in 1944, the Republicans falsely accused FDR of accidentally leaving his dog Fala behind on the Aleutian Islands, then spending a zillion taxpayer dollars to send a Navy destroyer to retrieve him. From the subsequent speech, apparently written with help from Orson Welles: “These Republican leaders have not been content with attacks on me, or my wife, or on my sons. No, not content with that, they now include my little dog … I am accustomed to hearing malicious falsehoods about myself … But I think I have a right to resent, to object, to libelous statements about my dog.”)

    • Ann says:

Brian Williams played the speech the other night when he got some digs in at Newsmax for this dumb, petty “story.”

    • Agirlandherdog says:

I wonder if this story was planted as a counter to all the images of Ted Cruz’s dog in his freezing house in Texas while the Cruz’s were in Cancun. It’s a very common republican trick: accuse the other side of behavior you’re guilty of…

  9. Sayrah says:

These people are disgusting. 45 would be so proud. So now we’re bullying the looks of a senior dog to dig at the Bidens. How pathetic

    • Agirlandherdog says:

I did notice they anchor’s speech patterns and phrasing are very similar to trump’s. I doubt it’s a coincidence.

  10. BeesNest says:

That commentary was just gross. Champ is a lovely aging GSD, his coat and muzzle will continue to change. He is also one of the luckiest dogs ever and they cannot contain their jealousy.
I really like how those news “commentators” kept commenting on how regal Buddy and Millie were from a presidency 30 years ago. They intentionally went out of their way to skip over the lovely Bo and Sunny. I wonder why that is…

    • Elizabeth says:

Millie was called an “ugly dog” in the Washingtonian. She was actually adorable & I loved my copy of Millie’s Book & to me no dog is “ugly,” but I just wanted to mention that to show that these people don’t have a clue of the context for their discussion.

      • BeesNest says:

It wasn’t my intention to imply Buddy or Millie were ugly, I just found the irony unattractive. I loved watching for them as a younger child and already dog crazy on the news and then being sad when it was just old white men talking.

      • Elizabeth says:

Sorry Beesnest, that was not directed at you at all. It’s the people on Newsmax who had no idea what they were talking about.

    • Arpeggi says:

Yup, I too found it “funny” they’d talk about dogs that were in the WH a gazillion years ago but would not mention the Obama dogs… For sure, they did not simply forget about them.

But also, old dogs look like old dogs, what are they supposed to do? Have their fur dyed so they pretend their coat is just as colorful and brilliant as when they were a puppy? Champ looks happy, well behaved, as healthy a dog his age be and, most importantly, loved. It’s what matters

  11. Fuzzy Crocodile says:

This doesn’t seem like a good line of attack. People love dogs. (And animals in general.)

And at least they weren’t transported outside a car like Romney or left in a cold, dark house alone like Cruz (I know someone was allegedly watching Snowflake).

And then you’re pulling in the comparison of a former President who didn’t like dogs. Or cats. Or the vast majority of people…

    • lucy2 says:

      Right?
“How can we attract viewers and convince people to vote Republican?”
“I know! People love dogs. Let’s attack an elderly dog’s appearance!”

Someone should hold p a photo of that news guy from 20 years ago and point out that he doesn’t look the same also.

  12. BearcatLawyer says:

Champ is very old for a GSD. His coat colouring and thickness are naturally changing due to his advanced age, and GSDs do not require weekly baths anyway. Of course he does not move well, especially in cold weather. Very few 12+ year old dogs of his size could!

Newsmax owes him a massive apology. Their actions were rude and wrong.

    • Miranda says:

Elderly First Dog is a bit arthritic? UNPRESIDENTIAL. Elderly, senile, treasonous, sociopathic fascist practically needs a sippy cup for a drink of water? MAKE HIM PRESIDENT FOR LIFE.

      • Emm says:

Ha! This is seriously the stupidest thing but I’m sure it won’t be the last. We saw just how low they all go in the last five years so..

    • BearcatLawyer says:

Let’s all donate to the Dog Aging Project in honour of excellent boy Champ Biden!

      https://dogagingproject.org/donate/

I just signed up my dog to participate too.

  13. BlondieR says:

Pfft! Champ looks great for 12! My parents 8 year old Shepard is in the same shape so clearly the Biden’s are doing something right!

Good bois! All the pets 13/10

    • Dlc says:

Holy crap! 12 is old for a purebred German Shephard! He is beautiful! So is Major. So excited to have a rescue in the white house. Republicans really are *Scholes, aren’t they?

  14. OriginalLala says:

It takes a special kind of awful to attack an elderly good boi like Champ…When these assholes get old I hope they are treated with the same kindness they keep putting into the universe.
    /Sarcasm.

  15. Lolz says:

You’d be surprised how some ppl react to “not show dogs”. 8yrs ago, kiddos picked out our quintessentially “funny lookin dog “ at shelter. You’d be surprised how it brings out the snob in some. Often ppl will pet some purebred nearby & ignore our FLD
(Goldie Hawn, however, just GUSHED at his cuteness- she’s a good person!)
    Dog snobbery is -extremely- telling!!!

    • HoofRat says:

I’ve seen that happen with our perfectly adorable rescue dog. I just want to say, “At least my self-esteem isn’t based on how much I paid for my dog.” It’s not that I have anything against purebred dogs – it’s just some of their owners I can’t stand. Champ is a perfectly beautiful old doggie, and he deserves all of the ear skritches.

    • Leigh_S says:

      It totally tells on people.
Do we have two purebreds? Yes. Our 2nd English Setter and 2nd English Cocker, I adore the setters and my husband adores English Cockers. He and his little dog are the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. Both from very good, health checking responsible breeders that we’re still in contact with.

Do we fawn ridiculously over every dog we meet? OMG do we ever! Purebred, mixed breed, classically beautiful or FLD, we adore them all and 99% try to make a break for us because they know it. (That and the smell of farm boots, that might be part of it too)

      • L84Tea says:

I love my “Heinz 57” dog! That’s what the vet referred to her as, as in she has so many doggie daddies. My little poopsey is part Lab, part beagle, part dachschund, and who knows what else, but we saved her from a hard life on the streets and she’s now a spoiled brat who sleeps under the covers with us.

    • lucy2 says:

I just left a Maine Coon cat group I was in because people were getting snobby and rude about stuff like that. Most of the people just enjoyed the photos and it was a variety of purebred and mixes, but there were some who always were yelling about the pedigree papers, how a purebred costs thousands, etc.

      • Alarmjaguar says:

I’m pretty convinced this is all part of some weird neo-eugenics and white supremacy that people are also projecting onto their pets. This is such an annoying timeline

    • Tiffany :) says:

When we rescued our dog, she had medical issues that left her scabby, flaky and missing most of her hair. She was a strange mix of breeds, and no one could guess what she “is”. We could tell she had a big heart and loved her immediately.

After 4 months of TLC, she healed and glowed up! Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon and spreading its wings, she now has the most GLORIOUS full coat. She used to have bald patches all over her face, but now her hair wings out from her incredible amber eyes, and frames her face in a stunning way. She’s gorgeous, but what is truly beautiful is the love that shines in her eyes. She is the most joyful and exuberant dog I’ve ever met. She’s loving and playful and I adore her (can you tell?).

People that snob dogs based on breed have no idea what they are missing. There are so many amazing dogs out there!

  16. Southern Fried says:

So desperate to attack an elderly dog. Nice going, GQP. Keep it up and continue to alienate sane people. That crap appeals only to those who’d shoot their own pets. If you can’t even be decent towards a dog…. Keep imploding, republiscums.

  17. Willow says:

What kind of heartless moron picks on an elderly dog? Oh, that’s right, an opinionated blowhard trying to justify their 2 minutes of fame. Is it any wonder I like dogs much better than humans?

  18. Diana says:

WTAF?????? Attacking an elderly rescue dog? There is literally no bottom

  19. fluffy_bunny says:

12 is very old for a dog of his size. The Bidens obviously take wonderful care of him. Hopefully he’s on joint supplements and an anti inflamatory. My 10 year old rescue is on a supplement and occasionally his doctor prescribes meds when his arthritis flares up. Champ is a handsome boy.

    • pottymouth pup says:

this really disgusted me when I saw it and the underlying implication that Champ isn’t well cared for because he doesn’t look like a GSD in their prime. My 13-14yo American Foxhound has really bad arthritis and is in renal failure (thought I was going to loose her 1.5 years ago and managed to get her kidneys functioning much better but she’s still in chronic renal failure). Not gonna lie, she’s looking rough these days – I’m not going to bathe her (dear lord, it’s winter) or do too much in the way of grooming because the worst of her arthritis is in her back and the last thing I want to do is add to her stress & physical discomfort. She started having issues with her eyes tearing recently as well so her white face is tear stained which makes her look even worse. Just like with people, there comes a point in time where you just don’t give a damn about appearance because all that matters is quality of life and giving your pet the best of the care that matters most

  20. Soupie says:

This idiot is so sure that there are Republicans out there watching his stupid channel who actually agree with him… did he even stop to consider they might be dog lovers with 12 years old dogs and they might reconsider their respect for this jerk?

I always take comfort in knowing that these younger people who criticize old people and old dogs, they’re going to get theirs someday. Don’t think they won’t. A lot of the time most of us older people look like hell compared to the way we used to look and we don’t even recognize ourselves when we look in the mirror. That’s what I wish on this guy sooner than later. Jerk.

    • BeesNest says:

My mémé used to tell us to watch our words and our ways or what happens on the inside will be shown to the outside. If those weren’t some scary words to live by.
It’s just more difficult to be a bad person than to be a decent one.

  21. emmy says:

Wait, what? I’m confused. How is this a narrative? Do they really think attacking an elderly dog’s appearance is the way to go?

Animals all age. I had hamsters and then Guinea pigs and even they show their age! What even is this???

  22. MellyMel says:

How low and disgusting do you have to be to go after an elderly dog, who clearly has been taken good care of his entire life?? These ppl are so desperate for some type of drama or “scandal” to put on the Bidens, all they’ve got is his pets…it’s sad!

    • Ponchorella says:

This is even more lame than the Obama elitist Dijon mustard “scandal”. Holy shit, who even watches this garbage?

Obviously the newscaster has sold his soul to work at Newsmax, but fuuuuuuuck the dusty pundits/historians that went along with this.

  23. Jellybean says:

I have labs, if they get dirty they get sent into a river to wash off. If they roll in something nasty they get hosed down in the back yard and they might even get a splash of shampoo, but that happens once a year maybe. Both my dogs are well into their teens and I am still on my first bottle of dog shampoo. Champ is lovely. They are idiots.

    • Christin says:

I had to quit bathing my rescue Great Pyr because he was getting hot spots following baths or getting very wet. The vet said that it is just too hard for the undercoat to get completely dry.

      • H says:

I love Great Pyrenees. Amazingly sweet dogs. I’m deciding what type of breed I want for my new dog. I want a shelter dog but seriously looking at Irish Wolfhounds, GSD or a Pyrenees. But they are hard to find in shelters.

      • BearcatLawyer says:

So many working and herding dog breeds simply do NOT require regular baths or grooming. Their coats and skin – as you discovered – are better off if you leave them alone. A touch of dry shampoo now and then and brushing out loose hair are really all they need.

      • Miranda says:

@H – I must highly recommend Irish Wolfhounds! They’ve been my family’s dog of choice for generations, and they’re just beautiful creatures. Incredibly loyal and loving, but still independent. I would say that they have the most “human” (in a good way!) personalities of any breed I’ve owned.

You do need a big couch, though. They WILL stretch out and take over your furniture.

      • Christin says:

@H – In the US, I think certain breeds (thinking of Siberian Husky and Great Pyrs) often end up transferred to breed rescue groups.

My boy was dumped after being clearly mistreated. He is a gentle giant, though still a little shaken at times, thanks to the person(s) who treated him badly.

What has amazed me is that Pyrs eat more like a medium sized dog. I thought I would have to buy huge amounts of food, but later found out they typically eat much less than their size suggests.

@Bearcat – I’ll check into doggie dry shampoo. He lets me do nearly anything as long as he can sit and majestically look over his territory. On another topic – I hope things are going better for you.

      • Alarmjaguar says:

Just chiming in with @Christin to say that I know my friend is involved with a Pyr rescue group in North Carolina. That’s how I might look for one. They seem so sweet and lovely (but huge)!

      • BearcatLawyer says:

@Christin – thank you. I need all the hope and prayers I can get!

  24. Bess says:

Insulting a person’s dog is low.

  25. Eleonora says:

That anchor should donate to animal charities if they REALLY care, but I doubt they do.

  26. Tom says:

Someone needs to re-read The Velveteen Rabbit, especially the part about the Skin Horse.

“Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” -Margery Williams

    • Christin says:

      Beautiful sentiment.

    • Charissa Dawn Sherwood says:

Ohh! I am tearing up. That book was one of my favorites as a child. Those people are telling on themselves. You know they will never receive love like that because they can’t give it. Pets of all kinds are members of the family. If you only value things and people on looks, you are truly missing out on the deep love you can give and receive. I think senior pets (and hell, people too! ) are so lovely because you can see their life experiences in their faces, and so much soul in their eyes. Who could be incapable of affection towards
anyone, animal or human, that has their lifetime’s worth of love for you expressed in every gray hair and wrinkle?

    • Alarmjaguar says:

Sob, that book kills me, but you are right, it is perfect for this situation. Perfect and pure.

  27. Merricat says:

Champ Biden: cleaner than most Republican Senators.

  28. Wiglet Watcher says:

I can’t have kids, but my dogs are everything to my husband and I. I’m sure I’m not alone in the US being someone that loves their dogs like children. And it’s a special love because children can outlive you, but dogs will die in your arms after dedicating a lifetime of devotion to you.
He’s just showing his age. Maybe newsmax doesn’t understand dogs do not dye their fur and get tucks around their wrinkle lines.

  29. ce says:

Doggy ageism is wrong! Show some respect, Major works hard for this country and it’s people

  30. Leigh_S says:

The older a dog gets, the more heartbreakingly sweet they get. It actually hurt my heart that they picked on him, even though he doesn’t know or care. Champ is lovely, sweet and very senior boy. I’d literally hug him and cry because he’s obviously so wonderful.

    • HoofRat says:

Senior animals are utterly beautiful and need to be cherished. There is so much wisdom in their eyes, and so much vulnerability.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Leigh_S, you are my kind of people. The comments hurt my heart, too.

  31. psl says:

Can’t pick on what Biden is doing as President, so pick on his dog……..what a moron.

  32. Evie says:

What a jerk this newscaster is! He should stick to what he knows. And it’s obvious he knows NOTHING about German Shepherds. I’ve proudly been owned by German Shepherds my entire life. They are a wonderful breed. At 12 years old, Champ is geriatric – he’s about 84 in equivalent human years. Large German Shepherds typically have a lifespan of 10 to 12 or 13 years if you’re lucky. Because they’re a large breed they are prone to arthritis in many forms — particularly in their hind legs and backs as they age. German Shepherds also have double coats and some, like Champ have very thick coats which gives them a woolly look. Champ is actually very clean and well groomed. Dogs like humans gray as they age and Champ’s face is graying. And he’s got a much thicker coat than Major which is why he looks fluffy. One of the nicknames for the breed is “German Shedders.” You can brush them several times a day and still get lots of fur off of them. The comments by the Newsmax anchor are mean-spirited, petty, ignorant and ill-informed. In short everything a news person is NOT supposed to be!

    • H says:

Thank you. I grew up with GSD too. Our last one, Boomer had hip dysplasia so bad in his last year (he made it to 10). My dad had him on supplements but in the end he couldn’t get up off the ground anymore. My father (who was in his early 70’s) would pick our 120 pound dog up and CARRY him outside and hold him up to pee. Finally, Boomer was in so much pain and meds weren’t helping, we had to put him down.

Senior dogs are the BEST dogs. And Champ is loved, you can tell. Newsmax can suck it.

  33. jferber says:

For God’s sake. When FDR’s dog Fala was criticized by Republicans for costing taxpayer money (?) by riding on a freighter, with tongue firmly in cheek, Roosevelt replied that Fala, being a frugal Scotsman, was indignant that anyone would accuse him of wasting anyone’s money.

  34. Mellie says:

Never trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs (see the previous resident of the WH) or picks on innocent animals.

  35. Ava with the Goodest Senior Pups says:

These people are so low and disgusting. Did anyone else think that their attack on a “dirty” brown dog was a perfect example of deeply imbedded racism?

Genuine comment. I know this may sound a little out there and I don’t think it’s the entire basis of their attack. They’re so pathetic and horrible this is the only thing they can find to attack. President Biden’s first 100 days have been the definition of presidential and these deplorables are just grasping at ANYTHING, even their dogs! But my first instinct was, of course the brown dog is dirty. While I think they’d find anything to destroy on any form of media, there’s a particular under tone of elitism.

If it’s not a pure bred dog, especially not some fluffy white coat dog (and I say this as someone with a rescue white floof of a fur baby) it must be dirty. The parallel between the working class Brown person seen as beneath these people and dirty is the first thought that popped into my head.

  36. Helonearth says:

Damn, you think these media twits can’t go any lower, and then they go sub basement level!

He is a beautiful older dog and it’s obvious he is well loved and cared for.

  37. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Even I think that Shepard is a beautiful old woof. I was brutally attacked by a Shepard when I was four so I can still get a bit triggered lol. These ‘people’ need to talk about poodles getting abandoned in a winter storm.

  38. Ms. Lib says:

Poor old Champ. Even his tongue looks tired.
    Good Boy!
    Asshole Newsmax.

  39. Payal says:

There is more intelligence and dignity in that good boi’s eyes than all three of those MWMs put together.

  40. Sid says:

Utter clownery. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have pet dogs live to elderly status know that the greying furis how they look. And Champ looks great!

  41. Natters5 says:

You know you are doing a good job as a president when all they have to report is a false story about your dogs. BTW, I am sure many of their audience members have old dogs themselves and resented the shot at the dog.

  42. Josie Bean says:

What a disgusting waste of time that reporting segment was. Champ looks his age. So what.

I love seeing the President and his wife with the dogs. Such a contrast to what we had for four years.

  43. schmootc says:

What a bunch of morons. These talking heads need to shut their pieholes. Clearly both of these dogs are very well taken care of and loved.

  44. Mina_Esq says:

Would they have the Bidens abandon a beloved senior dog because he doesn’t look shiny and new? Like, what’s the point of all of this?

  45. serena says:

How could they stoop so low to attack even a dog? Really couldn’t go lower, disgusting.

  46. Mattie says:

Well we all know now who’ll be giving away their dogs when they get older …take them down to the pound and buy expensive pure blood puppies with their nazi papers

  47. Liz version 700 says:

These guys never need to own pets. They sound like sociopaths who should never be allowed near pets, children or old people. Gross human beings

  48. tmbg says:

They deserve to be smacked. Picking on a dog is bad enough, but an elderly dog? One whisker on that dog’s face is worth more than that pile of human garbage.

  49. Louisa says:

I can’t even comment on this moron. But every time I see that picture of Jill Biden kneeling down to pet Champ I tear up. He is obviously so loved and he knows it.

  50. Amando says:

They seriously have nothing else to come up with? Attacking the presidents dog? Yet another low for the GOP. Champ is so sweet and might not have a lot of time left. What a good boy.

  51. Jules says:

Wtf is wrong with people. Dogs are more loving than the average human.

  52. lise says:

i dunno if poor champ is going to make it through the biden administration and its going to be SO SAD. he’s clearly such a good boy, but we can all see how tired he is 🙁

  53. newmenow says:

OK, I am not going to put up with anybody sh*t talking Champ Biden!
He is a good boy, always has been. Now he is a senior citizen who is still a good boy and he loves his family.

Heartless tool picking on a lovely senior dog, this human should be doing 15 minutes in the naughty corner + no pudding after dinner for a week. Nasty person.

  54. Nev says:

    Trash people.

  55. Megan Quinn says:

I wish I was surprised that these people would pick on a dog but I can’t say that I am. These are the same type of people who got outraged over Obama wearing a tan suit. Champ is a lovely dog and clearly well taken care of. It’s clear that the Bidens treat their dogs well and don’t simply look at them as accessories that you discard the minute they begin to look a little older.
