Duchess Meghan won’t return to the UK ‘if she can help it’ which is… a bad thing??

Prince Harry and pregnant Meghan attend Wider Earth Gala

One of my favorite things in the world is how desperate British reporters are to claim that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “not welcome” back in the UK. For the past year, the UK press has behaved like a jilted girlfriend or boyfriend, first trying to bargain with their ex (an ex who has ghosted them), then making bold proclamations about how they “don’t need their ex anyway,” and now spinning stories about how if their ex ever came around, they would not be welcome. Meanwhile, the exes, Harry and Meghan, walked away and never looked back on that psychotic, bitter isle. The exes keep flourishing and succeeding, how dare they! How dare they not show any interest in coming back when they are NOT WELCOME!

Meghan Markle won’t return to the UK ‘if she can help it’ after her ‘monarchy bashing’ interview with Oprah Winfrey caused her to lose the respect and adoration of the British people, a royal expert has claimed. Prince Harry, 36, and Duchess of Sussex, 39, moved to California last year after quitting as senior members of the Firm.

According to Anna Pasternak, the couple ‘didn’t stay [in the UK] long enough’ and Britons now feel ‘betrayed’ after being initially eager to embrace former actress Meghan because she ‘wasn’t an aristocrat’ but an ‘ambitious, wonderful woman’.

Speaking to Fox News, Pasternak said she cannot see the Duchess ever becoming a ‘loved and cherished member of the Royal Family with the unified respect and adoration of the British people…Sadly… I think that ship has sailed. Will Meghan Markle return to the UK? My speculative answer would be no, not if she can help it.’

Pasternak told Fox News that many people feel the interview showed ‘a total lack of respect for the monarchy and in a sense, for the British’ because the Royal Family is ‘part of the British psyche’.

‘This monarchy bashing can also be viewed as British bashing,’ she said. ‘And from personal knowledge, it is understood that Prince Charles, Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton and the Queen – they were just so shocked and saddened.’

Pasternak added that people were ‘thrilled’ for Harry when he met Meghan and embraced her and their ‘incredible wedding’, but said the couple ‘didn’t stay long enough’ and ‘criticized the whole thing’, which ‘felt like they were throwing it back into our faces… In the beginning, we really took to Meghan because she wasn’t an aristocrat… She was actually this really ambitious, wonderful woman. So I think in some ways, many people in Britain do feel betrayed by her.’

Pasternak stressed the one thing you can’t do as a member of the Royal Family is to ‘have an opinion’ – instead, they are required to remain impartial and apolitical and ‘just smile’, something she believes Meghan was ‘too animated and sharp’ to do.

[From The Daily Mail]

“Too animated and sharp.” Too “colorful” if you will. Too American, too gauche, too… dare we say, Black. So glad that we’ve cleared it up that animated, sharp, wonderful women are not welcome in the UK or in the British royal family. Pasternak almost had an interesting thread there with “not if she can help it,” but then she went full-on psychotic jilted ex. But no, Meghan doesn’t want to go back to Bitter Isle. That’s her choice, and she clearly could not give a f–k if salty peeps think she’s a “British basher” or whatever. How asinine.

Y’all didn’t want her and when she got the message and said “ok, imma leave” that’s an issue? Lol. Do these people hear themselves?

    • Mila says:

They want her to reject her, they can’t STAND the fact that she left before she was properly rejected and said adios! Without even looking back and with a smile on their face 😆 ! And THEY believe they are her end-all and be-all, that she only started existing for their entertainment, not a moment or second before, and can’t understand why she doesn’t think so too! 😆😆

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Plus she gave us iconic OUTFITS, which I suspect were of her own choosing for once. Those leaving photos were the ultimate chef’s kiss. That and putting miles between herself and the UK is a massive indicator that she is not coming back.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

The press is trying to rewrite history. They were and still are vile to her. The daily onslaughts, the daily TV programmes, the paid bots and mugzit groups are just horrendous. I admire how she is weathering it all and thank God she left.

      • Rose Fox says:

I mean Piers Morgan has been reemployed after truly atrocious behaviour – can’t imagine why she’d want to be literally anywhere else.

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

And they are persistently intent on IGNORING the fact that they BASHED HER EVERYDAY IN THEIR MEDIA, writing UPWARDS OF 250,000 ARTICLES PER YEAR, bashing her.

Which they call: “we embraced her.”

If ever there was an example of an entire nation led, at every level of leadership, by sociopaths and psychopaths, britain is it!

    • AlpineWitch says:

As a migrant who lives in the UK, I can tell you for sure that the toxicity against Meghan is not just against her race, it’s also because she is an American.

You’ve no idea how many times I have been bashed by Brits in UK because I DARE to have an opinion.
For example, foreign-born Brits are also not allowed to criticise the UK and its government, that is a luxury reserved for UK-born Brits, foreigners only need to know their place.

I am not even black but the xenophobic hostility I received in England by English people is unparalleled.

      • GraceB says:

I would agree that a lot of it was about her being American too. Your point about the xenophobia and hostility is interesting. I was talking to a friend about this recently who is also not British but has lived in the UK for a number of years and he was saying he felt like Americans struggle in Britain because of a cultural difference in communication. He felt like when Americans state opinions, they’re stated like facts or when they talk about how to do a job, they talk as though their way is the only way. Like there is no possibility that they could be wrong, while Brits state everything more like it’s a question because they aren’t so sure, or at least pretend to be less sure because being self depreciative is seen as polite.

      • Ania says:

I’m not American but I have a British manager and had to adjust at the begining. In Poland when your boss tells you to do sth it’s usually położę but firm: please do this. My British boss says: dear Anna, if you happen to have a minute please would you mind doing this? I had to „translate” this to myself that this means I have to do this now. If my Polish manager formed an e-mail like that it would literally mean it’s not that important and I can do this whenever.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

      Apparently not!

      • Janerys says:

@Ania – Classic British understatement. It’s a generalisation, which in itself is dangerous, but classically Brits are not direct. I know from this site how things can be lost in translation. I used the expression “I have no time for” which means I don’t like and it was taken literally to mean having no time. I’m a second gen Irish Londoner.

  2. Mila says:

They can’t decide whether they hated their wedding or whether they loved it. The narrative changes each time I see! Now they are suddenly able to look past Oprah’s initial appearance and it’s ACTUALLY the second tv one they didn’t like! 🤣🤣

  3. Lauren says:

I mean the whole setting up camp on the other side of the world should have clued them in that there was no intention to return, but ok. Outside of funerals, I don’t see Meghan returning to the UK anytime soon.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

They keep twisting themselves in knots like pretzels.

    • fluffy_bunny says:

I know Harry has to go back for funerals and Chuck’s coronation but does Meghan really have to go? She could claim that she didn’t want to be a distraction because she honestly would be. That’s all that would make headlines is what Meghan did or what she wore. And if they think that was “embracing” her they need to look up the meaning of the word.

      • chimes@midnight says:

Ok but imagine the absolute feeding frenzy if Harry returns to the UK without Meghan. Even if it is to bury a grandparent, do you think the press would restrain themselves? It would be like tossing a cow into piranha infested waters.

      • lanne says:

I hope the queen and prince philip live to be 145 each. That would prevent her having to return to that Brexit Isle. And it would spite the shit out of Charles and William

      • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

If she goes, it’s because SHE WANTS to steal the focus/attention; they’d excoriate her.

If she doesn’t go, because SHE DOESN’T WANT to steal the focus/attention, they’d excoriate her.

Let’s face it. Meghan will NEVER be able to “win”. Damned if she will, damned if she won’t. It’s a 2-headed coin in the toss.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Does he? He may go back for funerals, but does he have to go to Charles’ Coronation. Why is he obligated to show up to support the man who denied his family security and hung them out to dry? I say never go back.

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

Heres what we all need to grasp: Harry and Meghan, from their engagement interview, told us they were a team and everything they have to do, will be done by them, together, as a team. He said it explicitly: ” whatever we have to tackle together or individually, will always be us, together, as a team.”

So as far as I am concerned, I dont see H going to such an important function as his mother’s memorial, WITHOUT his wife.

Its gonna be tricky tho….they might tell them one thing and when they get there, it might be a whole other story.

Rmbr the CWealth service 2020: H&M were told AT THE LAST MINUTE that they wouldnt be part of the walking-in procession with betty. I guess someone who painted a picture of what the optics would look like and therefore what the image the BRF would hv to try to live down for the foreseeable future if they refused to allow THE ONLY POC IN THE BRF to walk with her so-called family in a service that honors a whole lot of POC, got thru to those malignant men-in-grey and so they did the next best thing, i:e each couple walked in by themselves. It was so tacky and so messy.

Given that the Incandescent One prevented M from being at an event for Diana just before H&M got married when, in the past, H was able to bring his white girlfriends to said ceremony, is something we should factor in for this upcoming Diana event.

Anyhooo…..methinks the Universe will conspire to work in H&M’s favor, like has been happening to date, and they will be able to attend via zoom. IF the event happens at all.

      • swirlmamad says:

I agree with @Carmen-JamRock…..Meghan will go back to the UK with Harry for his grandparents’ funerals/Charles’ coronation if he wants her to go, and as they clearly stated, they are a team — of course he will want the support of his wife. I don’t think Harry would NOT go especially to the funerals, since they by all accounts still have a good relationship with the Queen and Phillip, but if Meghan doesn’t go back for whatever event it will be because Harry decides not to go.

    • bamaborn says:

Right…like if my family put a continent between me and them, I think I’d be able to get the message. sheesh

  4. What what says:

I wouldn’t blame her. After seeing the hate and bile thrown Meghans name I never want to visit the UK. That being said, if I’m being realistic Meghan could possibly visit the UK at some point.

    • Myra says:

Same. Who wants to visit the UK now when all we see is racism and xenophobia? They keep thinking that by doing all that it’s Meghan’s reputation they are damaging rather than their own. I now think very little of any Brit journalist or media personality. Now these people keep telling us that it’s not just them, every Brit is like that, too. Well, okay then, just don’t be mad when we tar everyone with the same brush.

      • fluffy_bunny says:

I don’t want to. I refuse to set foot on the island. Won’t even fly through it. Also will not be purchasing anything from there.

    • AlpineWitch says:

I live in UK and if I could afford it I would move elsewhere in a heartbeat!

    • lanne says:

I love London–spent a lot of time visiting the UK over the years. With Brexit racism on the rise and this mess? Probably won’t be back. Or if I do go to London, I’m not going anywhere near a palace–no BP tour, no Windsor Castle, no Tower of London, no Kensington Pacale exhibits. Hell to the F naw!

    • Janerys says:

Londoner with Irish parents here, I don’t define myself as British yet I find this offensive. You are basically writing off 60 million people from England, Scotland, Wales and NI and beautiful landscapes and vibrant diverse cities because of the right wing press and some posh people who are as alien to most Brits as they are to the rest of the world. I love America and go as often as I can. The UK is obviously an imperfect country with a crappy government and we are no longer in the EU. I think the UK is more progressive on workers rights and we don’t have a gun problem. We have a free at the point of entry national health service, capital punishment was abolished more than half a century ago, we get proper annual leave and don’t have to take sick days out of it and proper maternity leave and rights.

  5. Sunday says:

“Speaking to Fox News, Pasternak said” – she can stop right there. The British media using Fox News as their access to an American audience isn’t going to work out how they think it will. It simply cements the connection between American alt-right insanity, Trumpism, and the royal family. Birds of a feather, as they say… unfortunately, being associated with this flock won’t get the royals very far beyond the racist base that already buys their bs.

    • Merricat says:

      ITA.

    • Emile says:

      Yes

    • Lilly says:

Yes, exactly! The BRF, just a bunch of plain deplorables. To me, they are actually even worse than the Trumps. Trump dreams of being at the Premier League grift level of the british Klan members named Windsor.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

Yup! Imagine how upset they must be that Trump didn’t win the election. You can tell that they all had dastardly plans against the Sussexes, Meghan in particular if the election had gone the other way.

      • swirlmamad says:

It’s very funny though how during Trump’s UK visit they all were very careful to not be pictured with Dump any more than they had to be, and not at all with his spawn. They are all more alike than they care to admit, but even the RF had enough sense to know it wouldn’t be a good look to be visually aligned with him.

    • lanne says:

This is hilarious to me. The RF aligning itself in the US with the same MAGAts who thought the insurrection was a “peaceful protest.” I’d LOVE for Will-di Amin and K Guevara to come to the US and get a very public invite to Maralago. Can you imagine all the MAGAts showing up to meet them? Matt Gaetz? Candace Owens? (A new black friend! WHEEE! Javanka?)

      • Bibi says:

Oh mi god, Lanne! I wheezed. Will-di-amin and K-Guervara? 😭😭😭

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

I keep thinking that they all (P*ss Morgan and Dan Whooton, too) can have a great big white supremacy love fest with the MAGA’s and white supremist militias. Do they understand that this will not draw anyone else? We all know what Faux News is. Rupert Murdoch is clearly DESPERATE to get into the US media. I will be keeping a close eye on our mainstream media. If they go there, that’s when they’ll be hearing from me. Murdoch has spread fascism using Faux News, but I’m determined he won’t be allowed to make our mainstream media into the sh8t storm tabloids of the UK.

    • Liz version 700 says:

      Yes!!!!

    • Elizabeth says:

How gross that the great-niece of a great poet and novelist is now discussing racist gossip with Fox News. Does she literally have nothing better to do with her life.

      • lanne says:

oh hell, that cow is really related to Boris? Well, to be honest, his Nobel prize was more of an FU to the Soviets than a merit award in my mind. Not gonna lie, Dr Zhivago is a bit of a hot mess as a narrative. I actually like the film better than the book because to me, it was more coherent.

      • twoz says:

Don’t forget she wrote Princess In Love, which was James Hewitt selling out Diana. (I think she was involved with him at the time, but don’t quote me.)

    • North of Boston says:

The RR is really trying to run with Trump’s MO on this. Bully and make up stuff and harp on Meghan, and then spread that vile bullying to anyone she has anything to do with. It’s NOT just to make Meghan’s life miserable, and destroy her reputation (while embiggening them who are so lousy at their roles as to need embiggening)

It’s ALSO (and maybe even moreso at this point) to put every one else on notice that if you speak up against the RR or the bullying, the attacks will be launched at YOU too. – see Clevr, the hunger kitchen’s MM supports, etc)

  6. lanne says:

    They.Just.Can’t.Quit.

These people live Meghan, breathe Meghan, drink Meghan. Meghan consumes all of their waking thoughts, yet she gives no more shits about them than she gives Piers Morgan. And that’s the real problem. It’s not that british people don’t accept Meghan. It’s the ratchets who can’t quit Meghan, just like she’s their escaped ex.

Ms Pasternak doesn’t accept that Meghan isn’t there for her to spew her nasty racism all over. There’s a whole passel of royals for you to write about but no, you have to keep going on and on and on about Meghan! Well, guess what, ya rangy bitch: Harry doesn’t want your nasty ass. He and Meghan are a continent away and you’re going on and on like Alex “I won’t be ignored” from Fatal Attraction.

Begone, ya stank bunny boiler! Get a real job if ratchet royaling doesn’t pay.

    • Lizzie says:

They just make a lot of money off trashing her and apparently only her.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

They won’t quit. I remember the Diana years. Charles sicced the press, his awful friends, his groupies, hangers on, her own mother and everybody he could on Diana. The poor lady tried to fight back until she was hounded to her death. She dreamed of moving to America and actually got a house. I am glad that at least the Sussexes are living her dream.

  7. MangoAngelesque says:

They’re gaslighting like they never heard of electricity over there…

  8. Shawna says:

OK, then, let’s speculate: when would she not be able to help it? Is it just funerals?

    • Ann says:

In the next few years, I think she will attend Philip’s funeral, Elizabeth’s funeral, and Charles’ coronation, and that’s about it.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Unless of course, Baldingham, his dad and machine gun kelly invent another protocol. If she attends she will be scrutinised to death and be accused of killing him and if she doesn’t she will be accused of being disrespectful and heartless.

  9. Becks1 says:

No, she’s not coming back so you can use pictures and news of her to sell your papers. Stay mad, because she’s back home and you can’t stand that.

    • Jegede says:

      Exactly.
And what should she be coming back for?🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

A BRF who hate her and want her gone.
A family still briefing against her – see courtiers leaking that Harry’s palace nickname is ‘Harry the Hostage’.

We now have the Windsors happily sanctioning the bullying investigations against Meghan.
Oh, trust and believe the results of such, – ahem – thorough investigations, will be ‘leaked’ to the tabs in due course.🙄🙄🙄

  10. Snuffles says:

At this point, I just don’t think it’s safe. The media has been foaming discontent with racists to the point there would be without a doubt some crazies coming for her. And The Firm would probably refuse to give her proper security while she is there. They would probably half ass it an allow a lunatic to slip through the cracks.

Any appearance she would make in the next few years would draw crazy, out of control crowds. A mix of admires, royal watchers and people who love a car wreck. Again, wouldn’t be safe.

The media would stalk her every move, all plans would be leaked and they would probably attempt to bug any location she was at, hidden cameras, paps climbing trees or cutting holes in fences. It would be MADNESS.

    • Izzy says:

There are legitimate security concerns here that are not at play with other members of the RF, and they’ve made it clear that they would find it perfectly acceptable if one of those security risks was to come to fruition. They are a bunch of psychos. I wouldn’t go back either, and I wouldn’t let my kids anywhere near them.

    • lanne says:

I don’t agree. They have their own security, and they know NOT to let the RF know their plans at all. I’ll bet they could enter the UK, do an event, and be on their way out again before anyone had known they were there. The only reason they might not do that would be because it would give a month’s worth of oxygen to the British media, and the best thing they can do now is to suffocate that beast. My guess is that Archie and newbabe won’t see the UK for years, if ever.

      • Snuffles says:

@Lanne I expect Harry to do that before Meghan will. And probably not until 2022. I think the next time we will see Meghan doing a public event in Europe will be for Invictus. She’ll do US engagements long before that.

      • Bunny says:

Their security wouldn’t be allowed in the UK. They wouldn’t be given permission to carry firearms (you can bet that they have armed security here in the states). They wouldn’t be allowed in on advanced security measures. They wouldn’t be allowed guest lists or threat assessment by the Palace.

Possibly the only thing worse than no security is bad security, because you might take risks, thinking that you were protected, even though you aren’t.

If I were them, it would be a cold day in Hell that I’d abandon my security and put myself in BP’s hands.

      • lanne says:

they could hire discreet guards in the UK–I know there are guard for hire services. They NEVER have to rely on royally provided security ever again, nor can they, per their rules. They have security professionals and access to the kind of networks that protect people like Oprah and Bill Gates.

      • equality says:

@Bunny Surely they are with a security company that has staff in other countries or special permissions. Many stars or affluent business people would be traveling overseas for business or pleasure and would need security. An effective security company in this century would have provisions for travel.

      • Becks1 says:

If there was an issue with their security team in the UK, they would probably just use someone else’s security team when they were there – we’ve seen they are incredibly well connected and their friends have no issues helping them out for things like this. Maybe Elton John has security that they could use, I dont know. If they want to go back to the UK, they’ll figure out their security.

I think the issue is more that Meghan has zero desire to go back, and who can blame her at this point?

      • Likeyoucare says:

Nope, HM security must walk through lots of new invented rules and legalities that will make their job harder when HM bring them to the uk.
It is safe for them to stay in the US.
This is not to undermined the british police, but when it come to BRF they have their set of rules that might be dangerous to HM.

    • Carmen-JamRock says:

If H&M visit psychoticIsle for any reason in the near future, they will hv their own security, which will visit & scope out the location DAYS before H&M are expected to be there (if Covid precautions allow it) just like when the US president visits anywhere.

Anyhooo…..I believe H&M are very particular abt Covid precautions so with britain being full of the plague and too stupid to sustain precautionary measures, I dont think H&M will b in england for the July 1 event if it goes forward.

      • fluffy_bunny says:

We don’t know when Meghan is due. They’re not going to travel during a pandemic pregnant or with a newborn. Or leave the kids and have to quarantine when they get back. They can zoom for the unveiling.

    • North of Boston says:

Yeah, aside from the “Why would they even *bother* to travel to the UK, where the press and RF have made clear they are not wanted and would not be welcomed?” issues, I don’t think it’s safe for them to travel there.

There has been too much sustained effort by the RF and the RR and the rest of the British press to smear Meghan and Harry, highlight all the ways she wasn’t a ‘true’ royal or didn’t belong there for with the narrow minded, petty, racist, misogynist, xenophobic crowd. There are just way too many unstable vicious people who wouldn’t hesitate to try to harm her, or Harry, or their children.

  11. Lizzie says:

I think she will go back when the queen makes it clear she has invited Meghan.

    • equality says:

That would be the ideal, that they return and stay with the Queen and don’t let details be known until later that they were even there so the BM doesn’t have any information.

  12. Izzy says:

She got herself a fine man, a mansion, (almost) two kids, and one hundred million reasons never to go back to your ratchet asses. Stay salty, mad hoes.

  13. BayTampaBay says:

    Wrong Place

  14. Tessa says:

Didn’t Pasternack betray Diana by cooperating with Hewitt?

  15. L4frimaire says:

It’s interesting how they make the interview , not about what the Sussexes, particularly Meghan, went through, but how her talking about the racism, isolation, and petty behavior made the royal family feel bad, because now we know about it. They really have no issue with what happened, just that she was “ ungrateful “ enough to talk about it. As for the rest, they really are trying to rewrite what happened, including Pasternak, who was vey hostile to Meghan. The amount of sexism in her statement is ridiculous. Smile and don’t have opinions. Seriously messed up. She has no reason to return. Why go back to an abusive situation?

  16. Maria says:

Why the hell should she? I wouldn’t either!

    • BayTampaBay says:

Why would anyone go somewhere where they KNOW they are not wanted let alone not liked??? What do the Royal Rat Reporters and Carnival Caravan of Royal Commentators not understand?

  17. Rapunzel says:

The funniest part of this is the hard sell that the Royal Family is so important to British people and insulting them is insulting Britain.

Yeah, that line ain’t gonna work in 2021.

    • MF1 says:

Yeah I caught that too. Basically, “the supremacy of rich, inbred white people is key to the British identity.” Funny how sometimes these racists tell on themselves!

  18. HeatherC says:

I have this vision that Harry and Meghan make a trip to England for Baldimort’s coronation. And the entire media is all about what Meghan wore, what she looked like, where she was staying, body language “experts.” the whole grand tra la la. And buried in the paragraphs is oh yeah, some boring white guy is our non elected head of state. As an American it would just tickle. (As long as H&M hightail it back to safety)

    • Ania says:

Pretty sure Wills already has nightmares about that! The day finally comes and…. it’s all about Sussexes coming or not!

    • fluffy_bunny says:

I doubt they’ll be invited just to avoid this situation.

      • Ania says:

They probably won’t, but still it will be no1 talking point. And BRF can do nothing about it.

    • Amy Bee says:

If there is still a monarchy by the time William ascends to the throne, I’m sure Harry and Meghan won’t be there.

  19. Fumi says:

This is legit insane. All of these people need help.

  20. ABritGuest says:

Lol they didn’t insult the British public or the Queen so always funny how the press/royal commentators always seek to hide behind the Queen or public when their bad behaviour is challenged. And yes there was racism& xenophobia in Meghan’s press treatment not just classism. Will probably take these people 30 years to admit to the racism if they ever get there.

The press were all excited thinking she would return for trooping until it was cancelled now she’s not welcome back. I actually could see the whole family visiting the U.K. within next 18 months but on stealth mode. She still has some U.K. friends and orgs like the Hubb ladies she might like to see in person & Harry has whatever relatives he’s still close with and friends to touch base with.

It always reminds me of their farewell weekend back in the UK. Around that time they were being hammered right and left by the press since the news had broken about them stepping down. But the very moment Meghan stepped foot back on Incandescent Island, the press were practically climbing over one another to see her. She dazzled even the saltiest RR’s. They ate up every ounce of her that weekend–her clothes, her slimmed down bod, her glamor, THAT ICONIC PHOTO in the rain with Harry, her great moments with the school kids. They hate her, but when she’s actually there, my God they LOVE her.

  21. NCWoman says:

Did she really? Or are the monarchists like the R’s here in the US where 40% of the country is evil and they’re also noisy and in charge, creating their own echo chamber that they’re in the right and widely adored when the truth is they are anything but? Meghan has helped–and continues to help–significant numbers of people just through her cookbook $$. The same for Harry with Invictus and other projects. They also go out of their way to support the people they work with vs. just doing their photo op. My guess is the silent majority in Britain and certainly the Commonwealth appreciates and respects her, but they realize that arguing with white supremacist cult members is pointless.

  22. TheOriginalMia says:

Do they really think Meghan wants to return to the UK when the BM and the Cambridges/Middletons have made it their mission to make her life a virtual living hell? Really?! REALLY?! She doesn’t care about y’all anymore.

  23. Over it says:

Megs is too busy having hot sex with her hot husband to give a flying F what the salty racist British think about her anymore. Suck on them Cali lemons you bitter hags.

  24. Snuffles says:

@bunny Thank you! You explained it better than me. The palace and the UK government wouldn’t properly coordinate with Harry and Meghan’s security and there would be GAPING holes.

  25. cisne says:

    Bye Felicia!!!

  26. Snuffles says:

Just wanted to add, I wouldn’t be surprised if she has PTSD regarding her time in the UK and any visit would be triggering.

  27. Louise177 says:

I disagree with most and think Meghan will return to England. She has several charities that she’s involved with. Sending them announcements and doing zoom calls is one thing but I think they would want her to visit in the future. I doubt Meghan would abandon them.

    • booboocita says:

I agree. I’m thinking that Harry won’t go without Meghan in any case, so they go and do separate events. Meghan visits her charities and nonprofits while Harry does the Salty White Family events. Events over, they hightail it out of the UK.

OR: Harry and Meghan visit and meet with their nonprofits together and avoid all events with the Salty White Family at which the press and/or photographers are present. H&M then attend whatever event they’re ostensibly there for (funeral, statue, etc.), get papped but do not stop to speak with reporters or pose for photos, and get the F out of Dodge immediately after.

Either way, no Archie or Princess Montecito, and no balcony show, thus depriving the RRrats of photos or opportunities to opine about the placement of persons on the balcony. Basically, H&M would have the bare minimum of contact with the RF — just enough to be polite and show respect for the new monarch or statue or whatever — while denying even crumbs to the press. The RRrats get nothing, and the RF can’t use photos to prove “unity” or that Harry is desperate to return.

    • ABritGuest says:

I agree. Whilst I wouldn’t be surprised if she kept her distance from Harry’s relatives especially given the nasty smears in the lead to the Oprah interview, Meghan is pretty hands on so can’t see her never seeing the Mayhew & SmartWorks team in the U.K. again.

As for security wouldn’t it work the same as for high profile figures travelling to the UK?

Anyway that picture makes me sad. I think it was first event after her father sold her letter. She looks pretty strained here.

  28. Mooney says:

The only time I want them to come back is for BAFTAs. She can show up in a glamorous no holding back gown and take home awards for their productions. F… the trooping, CW day, etc.

    • Lizzie says:

I hope she wears a tiara and they get a round of applause. Unlike the crickets when the dolittles showed up.

      • fluffy_bunny says:

I’ll lend her my tiara. I have a special occasion and an every day one. They’re fake but they don’t need to know that. Or Harry buys her one. I’m sure there’s some old European ones on the market.

    • Isabella says:

I keep hoping they will present an award at the Oscars. Maybe a humanitarian award. But the timing isn’t good, with Meghan’s pregnancy.

  29. Jane Doe says:

In life, there is really something powerful in absolutely refusing to engage with people who want to extend the pile-on as long as is humanly possible.

  30. Amy Bee says:

I mean she was treated poorly the Royal Family and the press, I wouldn’t blame her if she never went back to the UK.

  31. Liz version 700 says:

I still side eye Harry going back for Charles’ Coronation. He yanked security from the entire family and sold out their location to the press. I say send flowers….Happy Coronation Chucky Hugs H&M. Honestly they owe this family NOTHING

    • BayTampaBay says:

Charles may have refused to pay for private security (which I 100% believe but do not know) but he did not “yank security” from the entire Sussex family,

The decisions about ceasing government provided security protection for the Sussexes lies with the Metropolitan Police in England and the Canadian Government in North America.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Sorry if I misspoke. Per Harry Charles suddenly stopped his security and funding leaving them scrambling. This was the ultimate power play to try and bring them crawling back. They had to bunk with Tyler Perry (though it sounds like his digs were no hardship to stay in). I would never return and invite them to hold the Coronation without me if I was H&M. That was my point. If they are so unimportant then Charles can take over the throne while they stay safe in the US. I would have issues trysting my family’s safety after those kinds of life and death games were played.

      • Kkat says:

Nasa, if charles and the queen wanted them to continue to get royal security protection, they would have.

    • Oh says:

Harry said in the interview that he will always be there for his family and he will always love his father and brother 🤦🏻‍♀️. It really makes me sick how he’s still trying to protect them after all what they’ve done to Meghan.

      • Snuffles says:

Harry can still love them but also not want to ever live under their thumb ever again. You know, like most normal functioning adults.

  32. Faye G says:

I honestly don’t think it’s safe for Meghan to go back to the UK anytime soon. Even if they have their own security, the chances of something going wrong is too high. The BRF have sicced a slew of racist unhinged people upon them, who would go to any lengths to get near them or worse. Besides, with Megan‘s pregnancy there’s no way she will travel abroad anytime this year or next.

  33. Isabella says:

I keep hoping they will present an award at the Oscars. Maybe a humanitarian award. But the timing isn’t good with Meg’s pregnancy.

  34. SMS says:

Meghan has become an industry for the British Press, a means of generating income through click bait and flashy headlines. It’s such an unhealthy dynamic and, if it were me, I’d stay as far away as possible. Why feed the monster?

  35. christina says:

She needs to wear less blush, way less.

    • Cessily says:

I think by her expression her cheeks were hot from stress or emotion.. she looks close to tears I thought. (Like she was just waiting to be out of a viewfinder to let go..)

  36. Cessily says:

I am really tired of all the British outrage and acting like “they are somehow wronged or the victims” of the tiny little American woman. There have been personal attacks on Meghan from an obviously obsessed Morgan spewing hate and storming all over the set.(please, Britain keep him on your side of the Atlantic)
Then you have your wonderfully bitter archaic royals, royal staff and courtiers who need to get some sunshine and maybe a Clvr Latte.. lack of Vitamin d will make you…. (well You can figure it out) 😉
The Brf responses like the ones from William with his rage, his grief, his sadness, his burden, his loneliness.. his… lack of empathy, lack of truth, lack of compassion, lack of leadership, lack of graciousness, lack of love and sincerity match the narrative of your royal leakers and commentators (who we all know take money and say whatever the palace wants to push).
You seem to be full of angry privileged aristocrats and wannabe aristocrats.
I suggest yoga and meditation to help relieve some of that stress..
If I never hear the “woke” word again it will be to soon. It is condescending and it is always said in a derogatory manner when there are so many other words to use.. for example kind, gracious, giving, humanitarian, educated, health conscious, active, happy, independent and empathetic. All describe H&M much better than “woke”..
Funny that one tiny little American who smiles more than anyone I have seen in that family is such a threat.
