Duchess Kate ‘worried’ that Prince Harry had not met Meghan’s toxic father

THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME IN NORTHERN FRANCE

One of the things that bugs me about the Duchess of Cambridge’s Early Years work is how superficial it is across the board. Kate hasn’t really learned much from all of her years of “meetings” and “research.” She consistently falls back on the idea that two-parent households are the only functional dynamic for children, and that children will be hamstrung for life if they’re born into poverty, or if their parents divorce, or if they’re being raised by a single parent. I bring this up because Kate really lacks curiosity and empathy about how other people live, and how many families are dysfunctional and that not everyone has a tight-knit social-climbing family like hers. So, as you can imagine, Kate was “worried” about then-Meghan Markle when they met because Meghan has a dysfunctional relationship with her toxic father.

Kate Middleton worried that Prince Harry hadn’t met Meghan Markle’s father before the two were married, a royal biographer claims. The Duchess of Cambridge – thought of as a sister by Harry – was privately concerned that Meghan “appeared embarrassed” of some relatives, Ingrid Seward says.

William, Kate and Harry were previously extremely close, with Harry a frequent guest at their home in London. But divisions began to form when he quickly fell in love with Meghan. William had already cautioned him on not rushing with “the girl” – words that Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claim “p***ed off” Harry, who “wore his heart on his sleeve”. And Kate then began to worry about Meghan’s relationships with her father Thomas, Ingrid claims.

The turning point came when Harry invited Meghan to spend Christmas at William and Kate’s home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall, shortly after their engagement. Kate and Wills “praised Meghan for mucking in and playing with George and Charlotte” after the stay. But Harry then guest-edited Radio 4’s Today programme a couple of days later – and revealed his loved ones were “like the family she never had”. The claims caused huge upset in Meghan’s family – and her half-sister Samantha later said Harry’s words were deeply hurtful. And for Kate, pregnant with Louis and suffering with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness that can utterly debilitate its sufferers, it was “all a bit worrying”, Ingrid said.

“She could not understand why Harry had never met his future father-in-law, nor why Meghan, who Harry assured was The One and ‘ticked all his boxes’, appeared embarrassed about her family and unwilling to speak about them apart from her mother,” she said.

Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland was the only family member to attend the wedding. Father Thomas, who has repeatedly given interviews to the press about his relationship with his daughter, was not invited.

Ingrid said: “Now, after all that has happened, Kate is burdened with the task of peacemaker. Her huge strength and inner resolve will stand her in good stead, but mending this broken relationship might be the one thing she cannot conquer.”

[From The Scottish Sun]

Thomas Markle was invited to the wedding. He was supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle. Then he lied to her about the photos he had set up with a paparazzo, and then he faked a heart attack, pulled out of the wedding and wouldn’t stop giving interviews to TMZ in the days leading up to the wedding. Surely Kate would have been able to understand THEN why Meghan had been so reticent to go into details about her toxic father? If not then, perhaps in the months and years following the wedding, when Thomas gave dozens of interviews smearing and lying about his daughter? Perhaps not. Ingrid Seward is basically saying that Kate can’t see past her own nose and that Kate thinks it’s weird that every family is different.

Pot meet kettle – Uncle Gary anyone!!

    • Persephone says:

Exactly. And they’re only trotting him out now because they have no choice.

    • Kalana says:

Kate loved bringing William around Uncle Gary. The house in Ibiza, the yacht, dinners … The money is Uncle Gary’s.

The BRF in general can’t judge any other family for being dysfunctional.

      • Yvette says:

Not to mention the ‘William is so close to the Middletons’ and ‘The Middleton family is very close and stable and Williams has them for support’ nonsense that’s been printed over and over again these past few weeks. Isn’t that an indication that the Windsor Royal Family is ‘instable’ and that William may be a tad embarrassed by ‘his’ family??

    • Lady Luna says:

I was just going to say, did she forget about her uncle?

    • goofpuff says:

And Uncle Pedophile for William. I would find that WAY WORSE.

    • Over it says:

I was about to say uncle Gary says hello. You beet me to it.

    • BayTampaBay says:

Looking at the old picture of Kate, Harry & William, I can honestly say that William needs to investigate hair transplants.

Also, in this picture, Kate in that peach colored dress sorta looks like an extra skinny Jessica Mulroney to me. I had to do a double take and make sure that was Kate.

      • Carolind says:

Why should he do hair transplants? I don’t like him and he looked far better with hair but only actors do that kind of thing here.

      • notasugarhere says:

William needs to decide to either do the hair transplants or stop demanding the press photoshop more hair on him. He is mocked for it because HE is the one making it an issue.

      • Carolind says:

Really? Where did you hear that?

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        Carolind
It’s been confirmed William has final say on his images released. As he should. And the images he chooses always have more hair.
Just look at some official portraits or even his commemorative wedding coin. His hair was flowing like it’s never been. Funny enough Kate looked unrecognizable in that same coin.

They even floated via KP approved articles how Harry wanted hair plugs when it was William shopping around. That’s the go to technique btw. To release speculation of bs articles in the rags and see how the public reacts.

  2. VS says:

This is all tabloid BS….are all women in the UK in love with H? or were hoping to marry him?
when you see nonsense like this, I feel like the Sussexes must be relieved to have left …..a press made up almost entirely of National Enquirer/TMZ type “press”

    • Snuffles says:

It sounds like it! I need to experience that Prince Harry mojo in person because it seems like the entire country is acting like they’ve been deprived of food and water since he left.

      • VS says:

I need to go visit relatives in SB and hopefully I will get a chance to meet H….Hopefully after the pandemic, they will be more active by organizing different charity events; like you, I probably need to get close to him to understand these people; I am fascinated by Meghan; I see H as a pretty normal dude
Something is seriously wrong with royalists…..

      • BayTampaBay says:

“it seems like the entire country is acting like they’ve been deprived of food and water since he left.”

How dare Harry marry a colonial then leave the Empire on which the “Sun Never Sets” to immigrate to the country that was so mean and Nasty to George III. LOL!

      • Carolind says:

Believe me they are not. Ordinary people never talk about the royals. Don’t be fooled by the OTT comments in the cheap tabloids.

    • BABSORIG says:

Well, TBF the Sussexes are pregnant for the 3rd time in just 2 years. That means they’re banging 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾each other left, right and sideways. Alsi, the Sussexes are visibly and publicly have loads of hots 🔥🔥 for each other. So, these folks can’t take all the sexiness and that’swhy the have such hate forMeghan.

      • Bee says:

Babsorig, I find the choice of your emoji offensive. Yes, we know what banging is, don’t need a picture. Curious, is a black hand the only emoji available or are you a bit racist?

      • Kkat says:

How do you know Babs isn’t a POC?
I would have assumed from the black hands she is.
Also the ok sign has been co opted by white supremacists but it used to mean f#cking.
I only recently learned that they use it.

        Is this better? 🍆🍩

    • Demi says:

When I read how many British folks especially white British women were trolling Meghan calling her all sorts of things like unclassy & from the trailer park& praising Kate ect I can’t help to think they are feeling personally rejected that Harry chooses Meghan over one of their own.. Then, they felt personally rejected again when H&M left Britain.. It’s like when you reject a person and they tell u were not that good-looking because they can’t get over the fact they been rejected.. I also read women in UK struggle these days with finding suitable men so

      • Cessily says:

I would be curious the (true) nationality of those women.. I’m not a basher and very pro Meghan, she is doing and is going to continue to do great things and I plan to support her (them) in whatever way I personally can. My support is to her first, I love her with PH, but it is her message and motivation that hooked me. The hate directed at her for being happy, positive, gracious, educated, common sense smart, well spoken, elegant and sophisticated cemented my loyalty. I share part of her race/heritage I just have the Irish part in common with her but I celebrate all of her.

  3. Eleonor says:

It’s the tenth year anniversary and all they can do is talking about Meghan ?
    These people are sick.

    • VS says:

let’s be honest, who anyone care if H&M weren’t used? I wonder how that makes W feels! for his entire life now, he will always be compared to his brother! his brother will be brought in any topic related to him

    • Chris. says:

An other made up story by the Carnival of so called experts??? Ingrid doesn’t know anything. She thinks, or maybe it could, or a source… Seriously , it’s time for this ugly face to retire.

  4. intheknow says:

Oh please, KKKhate never worries about anyone but herself. And if there was ANY worry, it was that Harry would no longer be around for her stare and grin manically at anymore. Harry would no longer be around to show her respect, attention and care she should have been seeking from Baldimort.

    • Amy Too says:

I love how they make it seem like Kate sticking her nose in to have opinions about Harry’s fiancee’s father was just another huge dutiful burden that she HAD TO take on even while being super pregnant and fragile and “debilitated” by HG. 🙄🙄🙄 Just the way they throw in how this was such a huge thing for Kate to be forced to deal with while sick and pregnant. Like worrying about whether or not Harry would meet Meghan’s dad before the wedding was some kind of monarchial crisis that only she had the emotional wherewithal to deal with

      • CJ says:

Right at best this was a case of mine your own beeswax. At worst she could have mustered up some damn empathy instead of making it about her (per the story)

      • Madelaine says:

@Amy too: You’re right to point out the way Catherine Middleton is once against credited and even sanctified for her alleged altruistic concerns. This is part of the British media’s habitual beautifying and aggrandizing depiction designed to drill it into us that Kate is queen material. But whether she really voiced those concerns or not, it still remains that, with the benefit of hindsight, the original smear campaign against Duchess Meghan was not orchestrated by the media but hatched by her father himself.

Had the white man not thrown his daughter to the wolves and set an example of how to publicly mistreat and exploit her in the first place, I am not sure the white male-dominated mainstream media would have granted themselves such a license to viciously denigrate and disparage her character.

There is a common understanding that it is the father who sets the tone for whether a daughter is deemed socially welcome: Jane Austen wrote extensively about it and it’s still true today, especially in the royal circles. So I blame Thomas Markle; the man must be remembered for instigating the first global-scale defamation campaign against Duchess Meghan, which allowed the media to step into the breach.

Michael Middleton and Thomas Markle are both greedy opportunistic social climbers but the first was adamant his daughter must be treated as a treasure, so there she is despite her lack of discernible talents.

      • BABSORIG says:

So Madeline according to you, Doria’s classy behavior is not relevant in anything but everything revolves around Thomas Markle and his despicable self? No, the British media and the BRF were racists against Meghan and Archie, not because Thomas Markle is a douchebag but because they’re racists and misogynist. Even if TM had been a decent person like Doria, the BRF and thier minions in the BM would still have carried out the same smear campaign against Meghan, period. TM treated his daughter horribly but he is not an excuse and thus not the reason the BM and BRF treated Meghan so despicable.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Madelaine, did you miss the Sunday Times article by Shipman? In which he stated that Willileaks was behind the Thomas Markle campaign? You might want to look this up, because you will change your perspective.

      • Cessily says:

@ Madelaine are there many men who, even if they read Jane Austin, retain it longer than the exam they read it for? Just curious 🤷🏼‍♀️

      • Madelaine says:

@Babsorig: The royals will be bigoted postcolonial racists anyways, but if TM had been protective of Meghan, imagine how much more difficult his voice would have made it for the press to lash out. Imagine him praising his daughter on Good Morning Britain and publicly confronting Pierce Morgan and addressing the issue of racism in the light of his personal experience, that is how he chose to marry an African American and how pleased he is to have a son-in-law acting likewise… But presenting his daughter as a person who has alienated all relatives has definitely changed the outcome.
As for Dora, she is totally relevant as the pivotal force of Meghan support system in the private sphere but she was never meant to speak out in public.

@Cessily: You know I was referring to English traditions and culture, not to literature in itself.

      • Madelaine says:

@Saucy & Sassy: Gosh. I’ve just read it and it’s a bombshell. I initially thought the RF refrained from intervening to stop Thomas Markle because they were more than happy to let him do the dirty job for them but never did I imagine the Bullyiam and his clan went as far as to directly arrange for the media to bribe Meghan’s dad into deteriorating her image. What a Mafia!

      • Lila says:

        @madelaine you are 100% correct

      • Madelaine says:

        Many thanks, @Lila!

      • notasugarhere says:

@Lila, IMO Madelaine is 100% wrong when she states Mike Middleton is a marvelous father who insists his daughter be treated as a treasure. Mike had actively participating in the climbing and William’s poor treatment of Kate, all for Mike and his family’s climb.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        Lila madalaine
Nota is right. Name 1 time mike actively stood against William for cheating on his daughter openly and stunting her adult development.
Mike watched Kate cry when she was dismissed from vacations with William so he could play around. Watched his daughter put her life on hold and built everything about herself for this one guy that wouldn’t do the same.

Example. The Midds rented a chateau for a ski trip. They invited William and he accepted. They saved the biggest room with a fireplace and most romantic theme for him and Kate. William then never calls or shows up. Kate and him argue and she spends the whole vacation in tears. This came from pro midd press FYI.
William was then seen partying with no cares to wasting Mike’s money, time, ruining a family vacation and once again harming his daughter. One of many documented examples.
Mike just flies under the radar very well.

      • Madelaine says:

@Lila: Catherine Middleton’s unswerving patience and compliance in the face of her husband’s repeated cheating and the ban from having the fourth child she longs for, are evidence that she will stop at nothing to get THE treasure: her crown. She seems to have internalized and embraced so wholeheartedly the Middleton clan’s ambitions that her silence and unDiana-like acceptance mode pass for selflessness and dedication to service in the mainstream media.

I suspect she cares less about William than about her endgame goal, which is becoming queen. In this respect, she’s just as cynical as her father, who can be credited to have been cautious not to tarnish his daughter’s reputation publicly. Michael Middleton’s handling of his daughter’s matrimonial situation is way more dignified than Thomas Markle’s, although he knew that in the process of getting the Holy Grail, she would have to stoop and disregard the humiliations inflicted upon her. So Michael Middleton is not “wonderful”; he is a wily strategist. And Katren is not, to my understanding, a sweet lazy damsel but a driven woman who has been working hard to fulfill her ultimate ambition.

    • BothSidesNow says:

@ intheknow, that’s the most truth to take from this entire article!!! We all know Keen Doucheness cares for n one BUT herself and the Queen consort day to come. But let’s hope that she never sees that day!
Now Inhrid, STFU and sit down. We all know Keen Doucheness cares for no one but herself, so try to sell your shill somewhere else!!

  5. Oh_Hey says:

Ugh. “Middle Class” Bill and Cathy strike again. Does this little social climber not realize that real middle class people marry each other and not their families? This isn’t 100 years ago where that might have been true. Most normal folks are getting more and more comfortable with cutting out toxic family and going low or no contact. Something it would seem Harry liked even more about Meghan as his own family showed continued to show themselves.

    Keen idiots.

  6. Belli says:

Not again with the “Kate cares about Harry more than Meghan does” push.

    • Lemons says:

Exactly! Harry will not include you in his will, Kate. He will not share his inheritance with you, and he won’t be there to support you if William leaves you. Please get out of Harry’s marriage and focus on your own!

      • Emily_C says:

And he won’t sleep with her either.

      • booboocita says:

One wonders if Keen Guevara will go running to Montecito to cry on Harry’s shoulder if Baldimort does divorce her. I doubt it, but she’ll probably consider it for a hot minute, if for no other reason than it would piss off her useless husband.

    • Heat says:

Honestly, in this case, it sounds like tabloid bunk.
Did Kate (or anyone else in the family) have concerns about Meghan’s family dynamic? Probably. Thomas & Samantha were and ARE very problematic, so it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that they would cause some raised eyebrows.
The fact that the person who wrote the article said that Thomas wasn’t invited to the wedding tells me that it’s made-up.

  7. Aurora says:

They really have nothing going on in the Royal Family? They’re still rehashing events from years ago while the Sussexes are trying to get the world vaccinated.

    • The Hench says:

I know, right? Every bloody day there’s an article ostensibly about Kate and/or William but desperately stretching to get Harry or Meghan in there. The bottom of the barrel is being thoroughly scraped.

  8. hindulovegod says:

She always looks like she’s posing for a cheesy old stock photo. Her expressions are over the top and out of sync with those around her. If she’s going to be hyper-focused on performing for cameras, she should learn how to make it look natural. But I guess that would be actual work.

    • Chrissy (The Original) says:

Her mouth always hanging open is so ridiculous and fake too. So queenly!

  9. ThatgirlThere says:

    She’s gross.

    • TeamMeg says:

She has her fans, but not on this site! And isn’t it odd—in the photo of the “Three Musketeers” (with drinks in hand), Harry and William look SO much younger than they do today, but Kate looks almost exactly the same.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

Kate looks the same after work and fillers settle along with the heavy handed photoshop she’s had for years.
Actual late looks haggard as hell because we get the face we deserve.

  10. Ania says:

When will Kate realize that her own mother used her to improve her own social status despite being fully aware what kind of life her daughter will have? Meg at least has one supportive parent who taught her that there is a limit of what she can tolerate for „family sake” and that when someone repeatedly hurts you have to say enough? Carole was watching how her daughter’s boyfriend treated her like dirt and still encouraged her to stay with him. Whose family is dysfunctional here? Which child has better chance to grow up in healthy situation? I have a daughter and cannot imagine manipulating her or even supporting her wish to pursue man like Will the way Carole had all those years. I would be devastated that my girl might never be in a good, loving relationship.

    • The Hench says:

THAT is an excellent point – exactly so. Carole has, in her own way, treated Kate just as badly as Toxic Tom has treated Meghan. Both of them have used their children to advance themselves and their position – in Carole’s case both financially and socially. She raised a daughter who was trained for nothing other than catching a King – even when, as the years have shown, Kate was temperamentally entirely unsuited to the job.

    • Becks1 says:

Yeah, I actually find it really disturbing that the press just glosses over how dysfunctional the family is. What if Kate had said to her mother – there’s this guy at university I really like, he wants to be a lawyer like his dad – would Carole have said “absolutely not, its William or bust” and Kate would have said “okay” and just gone along with it? There’s just something so blatant about pushing your daughters to marry well. My mom never mentioned who I should marry besides it being someone I love, she wanted ME to be the successful one, her goal wasn’t for me to marry someone successful, you know?

I just have to wonder how involved Carole would be in her daughters’ lives if they both hadn’t married well. Like if Pippa’s husband’s family didn’t own a resort in St. Bart’s, etc.

      • molee says:

@Becks1 If Will and Kate divorce, whose side would Carole take, do you think? Daughter ex-wife of FFK or ex-son-in-law FFK and grandchildren FFFKs or FFFQ?

      • Amy Too says:

That’s a fun question to think about. She seems to be firmly all about Kate and building Kate up right now but that’s bc she wants to keep Kate with Will. I’m thinking about how 50+ years ago if a father was left with young children either bc of a divorce or death, he’d have a female relative move in to act as a pseudo mother bc it would be unthinkable that a man could just do the parenting himself. I’m wondering if Carole thinks she could be that pseudo mother to her grandkids. She’s say she’s “team grandkids” and worm her way into caring for them for William. I’m thinking that would be her dream job. Live with William, mold the Cambridge kids in her image. But I think even if Carole wanted to be team William after a divorce, he wouldn’t want to have her on his team. I think he’s coming to realize how manipulative she always was and how outrageously unhinged she’s being in the press right now trying to build up Kate, the woman he’s trying to get rid of. I think he’d find it hard to trust her to not t try and push him back towards Kate.

      • notasugarhere says:

We haven’t seen Carole involved in the lives of Pippa’s kids, nor of the younger ‘royal’ grandkids. Her focus is George.

    • Nic919 says:

Thanks for raising this. Carole is a very toxic person as well and we can see the results of her obsession with social climbing in her adult children because James flails about from one rich boy project to another and has been open about his mental health issues. And Kate herself is clearly a maladjusted almost 40 year old woman with issues that she doesn’t want to admit. And since Mike has seemed to be a doormat, none of the Middleton adult children have the support of an adult parent with decent values. Being clannish and united in the goal of social climbing isn’t actually a healthy thing.

    • swirlmamad says:

Exactly this! And not only that, by all accounts her father seems to have no spine and lets Carole do the most to destroy her daughter’s life. One parent is the epitome of overbearing stage mother and the other sits by mutely and doesn’t attempt to speak up as the voice of reason. SO FUNCTIONAL.

      • BayTampaBay says:

IMAO, Carole & Kate are joint and equal partners in crime.

Carole & Kate both want an Earldom or Viscounty for Michael Middleton and it is not going to happen.

      • Tessa says:

Kate was a very willing participant in the pursuit of William. She had it down to a science. She pretended to be his “concerned friend” while she drove away other women. The story that she rushed across the room to “rescue” William from a woman pursuing him is one of her strategies. She would give, according to reports, “death stares” to other women who got near him.

      • Carole is the partner who wears the pants in that marriage. She wants Kate to be the same. That’s why she embiggens her daughter to make sure Kate has a hold on William so as to make him feel that the monarchy is solely dependent on Kate (i.e. PR Puffy articles by DWooton, SVile, etc.). But William is no henpeck of a husband and is never considerate of Kate’s feelings. He does what he thinks pleases him. Lately he toes the line a bit (ie. escorts Kate to her charities, OTT 10th anniversary photo/video, etc) but it won’t change his philandering habits moving forward. This is what gives Carole the heart attack. The future of her daughter and the Middleton family’s is on the edge of a precipice.

    • February-Pisces says:

Carole is heartless. I think the only reason she even pushed Kate and not Pippa to chase William was because she was in the same school year as him and be at university at the same time. If that hadn’t been the case, it would have been Pippa all the way, and Kate would have been left on the sidelines as the forgotten daughter.

I think Kate’s eating disorder started with Ma too who drilled it into her that boys only like skinny b*tches,

  11. BearcatLawyer says:

“Kate really lacks curiosity and empathy about how other people live, and how many families are dysfunctional and that not everyone has a tight-knit social-climbing family like hers.”

Kate also fails over and over again to offer concrete advice and meaningful assistance. All during the pandemic she has made these vague pronouncements about the importance of mental health and self care and participated in showy acts like clapping for caregivers and the Covid Choo Choo Tour, but she has wasted most every opportunity to actually help the parents and children she supposedly cares so much about.

    • Nic919 says:

Kate’s lack of empathy is also the result of being raised by a massively dysfunctional family whose values are superficial and shallow but seemingly approved by society in general.

  12. Becks1 says:

Oh Ingrid Seward, you lying old rat you.

Like kaiser pointed out – Markle WAS invited to the wedding, so she already has a major fact wrong.

I do “like” how they are still spinning the narrative that Kate and Harry were SO CLOSE and that Meghan just BROKE UP THE HAPPY TRIO. Sorry Harry got married and likes his wife more than you?

Something that is occurring to me though – that we’ve talked about some over the past few weeks – is that there is some truth to that. Not that they were such a happy go lucky trio, but that Kate needed Harry. I am really starting to think that most of the royals don’t like Kate or William. You don’t see a lot of interaction at family events. I feel like the person I saw Kate interact with most was Autumn Phillips. You sometimes see Zara talking to William, but she skips out on a lot of the big events (like the Christmas walk) so its hard to tell. William is the godfather of Mia I think (and Harry is Lena’s godfather) so there is some closeness there. But we know the York girls don’t like Kate, I can’t see Anne having any use for her, we’ve seen the Queen publicly snub her.

All that to say maybe she WAS reliant on Harry because he was one of the few in the family who was nice to her and reached out to her at major events. not in a “oh they belong together forever” kind of way, but in a “I’m a good man and the least I can do is talk to my SIL because the rest of the family won’t” kind of way. Maybe that’s why we’ve been seeing her interact so much with Sophie, Sophie won’t dare to cut her.

    • Cecilia says:

Maybe it’s because of williams raging? Harry seems to be the only one thats not scared of william and had no problem giving him a piece of his mind. Maybe kate needed harry there as a buffer? We all know that the Cambs are surrounded by yes men

      • JT says:

When could he have been a buffer though because it seems like the only time he saw them were at public events. Harry was living his own life, serving in the army, traveling to Africa, and he was out dating. He was less of a buffer and more an object of her obsession. She is practically in love with him the way these articles go on and on about it.

I’m surprised William isn’t more concerned with how this makes him look. Again, he looks like the weak man who can’t even satisfy his wife enough to stop her from lusting after his brother.

      • Becks1 says:

@JT I mean at the very least he wouldn’t have left Kate on a barge during the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebration in the rain, without an umbrella, lol.

      • equality says:

@JT Exactly. How was Harry frequently dropping in at their home when he was serving and out living his own life. I could see him dropping in on Eugenie more since she was also single and he and Meghan supposedly double-dated with her and Jack.

    • Sofia says:

“All that to say maybe she WAS reliant on Harry because he was one of the few in the family who was nice to her”

That’s what I think. Harry was probably one of the only one not just in the firm but in the wider circle who was nice to her. We know that the aristos aren’t her biggest fans and the other people she interacts with are employees who are just that – employees. That leaves the people she sees on engagements but they’re not her friends nor can they be her friends.

So I can see that being a lonely experience (she’s got her own family yes but in-laws don’t really care, your husband’s social circle doesn’t like you, employees are just employees and the public can’t be your friend) hence her latching onto the one man that doesn’t ignore her completely which could have lead to an unhealthy attachment on Kate’s end.

      • JT says:

@Becks1 Will frequently leaves Kate hanging and I find it both funny and astonishing. Sometimes I don’t even think he does it on purpose, I think he just forgets she’s there. Which is actually more sad than leaving her maliciously.

@Equality I just don’t understand why people think he was such a huge support to her. I was looking at some old pics of Harry, and I didn’t see him hanging out with Kate save for family events. I haven’t been royal watching for long though. The RRs need to bring out some receipts.

      • Becks1 says:

@JT – I know, I don’t think it’s malicious. I think he genuinely forgets about her or doesn’t think about her. I was seeing pictures this week on twitter of all the times he has walked with an umbrella and not put it over her head, and I honestly don’t think he’s thinking “she deserves to get rained on.” I think it does not occur to him to think of anyone other than himself and if its raining he’s going to make sure he has an umbrella over his head and that’s it. I don’t think his thinking goes beyond that.

The idea that Harry and Kate were SO CLOSE was definitely pushed by the RRs and I think for a long time it was just accepted, but the more you look back at it the more its obvious they really werent close, even if they got along. When W&K got engaged Harry said something like “I’m looking forward to getting to know her,” when they announced her pregnancy with Louis a RR asked Harry how she was feeling and he was like “I dont know I haven’t seen her in a while.”
I really think that it was more like what I said in my comment – he was probably the nicest one to her in the family at family events and formal functions, but I don’t think he was going out of his way for her outside of those events.

But it probably still ticked Kate off, because if Harry was one of the few who reached out to her at events – once Meghan came along, Harry wasn’t doing that anymore, he was taking care of Meghan, who was new, who was learning the ropes, who is HIS WIFE – Kate just probably slid off his radar (as she should have, she’s married, she’s bee in the family for a decade, etc) and I imagine that really ticked her off. She probably did mistake his common decency and courtesy as something more.

      • JT says:

@Becks1 The umbrella pics are the most telling, because it’s more natural to try to cover the person you’re with, not leave them in the dust. Not even just your spouse but your sister/friend/parent. When it’s raining both my sister I try to squeeze underneath the umbrella together. William literally just walks off. He doesn’t even pause and think for a second.

Also what do you think about William’s thoughts surrounding Kate’s Harry obsession? Kate is never described as interested in Will as she is in Harry. It makes William look inadequate, when he’s already seen as such in every aspect of his life. Nobody thinks he can be the king without help, he can’t do his royal work without help, and now he can’t even keep his wife’s attention. Like I said before, he cannot be happy with this. It’s just so absurd to me. Has there ever been a story saying William is upset about this?

      • Tessa says:

If Kate was so “fond” of Harry she would have been nice to his wife and not played the Mean Girl with her. It is sickening when the bots write how much “happier” Harry was with Kate and William than with his own wife and son. Harry looked bored and miserable in many of the pictures as the third wheel, apparently they did not let him bring a date to some social events.

      • notasugarhere says:

JT, there’s also William walking away and ignoring heavily pregnant Kate as she tries to walk down airplane steps in high heels (Norway visit). Or Kate jumping out of a high vehicle on safari/tour as Willam walks away from her, unconcerned about whether or not she gets out safely. He has no consideration for her, she isn’t even an afterthought to him.

      • The way the British media keeps pushing the Kate and Harry narrative, they do it OTT that one gets the feeling of an underlying suggestion of an affair. They should already stop this. Harry is happily married to Meghan and is not looking back. Lonely Kate still has to figure for herself if she can live the future that awaits her with William.

    • Tanya says:

Don’t why why this showed up here!

      • JT says:

@Nota that’s just downright shameful. Love story my ass.

      • Carolind says:

There were also photos / film of them at either the station in Norfolk or London just three or so days before it was announced she was pregnant with Charlotte. They had been at Amner Hall which was being done up at that time and were on the way home. Lupo was with them but not George. She was lugging a great big bag but he was paying no heed to her.

  13. ABritGuest says:

I agree this is projection for what the royalists think re Meghan’s paternal relations. I doubt Kate was thinking of Meghan’s relatives.

With his refusal to accept help around the wedding & having been reclusive previously I wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas was meant to be at Invictus Toronto like Doria but didn’t want to attend. Either way he was meant to meet Harry before the wedding but flopped.

They really can’t get people interested in the Cambridges’ anniversary without bringing up the Sussexes huh?

    • Cecilia says:

The thing is that im 100% sure meghan had a good relationship with her father until the tabloids got involved and ruined it. I saw an old instagram post of hers. It was thanksgiving and it was her, her dad and her mom. And she said she was thankful for the both of them. This was in 2016, so months after her and harry started dating. And then all the other insta posts dedicated to her father plus 1 or 2 posts in the tig dedicated to Thomas Markle. She truly seemed like a daddy’s girl.

      • Amy Bee says:

@Cecilia: Yes she had a relationship with her father but I think they had their ups and downs and there were times when she didn’t talk to him. The fact that she wanted him at the wedding tells me that despite his issues she was not ashamed of him and wanted him to be part of the day. He effed it up by his own selfishness and with the help of the palace. I don’t think KP wanted him at the wedding anyway.

      • Jan says:

Watching Tom performed, I think he was alway belligerent, saw the money the tabloids were flashing and that’s all it took for him to turn on his daughter.
I think Tom and Meghan had an up and down relationship over the years, there is a video of her driving around with her backstabbing friend, and she told the friend not to stop at her father’s house, because they were not getting along.
She personally invited him to the wedding, but didn’t send him an invitation, sent one to Doria, gave him no details about the wedding because she didn’t not trust him and he proved her right. He would have sold the invite like the pictures.
What drove him nuts, was her refusal to let him make a speech, at the wedding luncheon.
If the Markles were my family I would be embarrassed also.

      • MissMarirose says:

That really doesn’t take into account the fact that Thomas is a narcissist and what that does to a child.

As the child of a narcissist myself, I can tell you that you get into a pattern of giving into them because they are your parent and all you’ve ever known. When the child of a narcissist displays any difference of opinion or independence from the parent, that’s when things go wrong. The dark side appears. So, to make things better, the child capitulates.

It’s a vicious cycle that can be damn near impossible for most people to understand, even if they think they’ve grown up in a “dysfunctional” family. People will ALWAYS advise the child of a narcissist to make peace because “your parent loves you.” But they don’t. They only love themselves. The child is only lovable as a reflection of themselves. Period.

      • Sid says:

Cecilia, I don’t think she was a daddy’s girl as the relationship seems to have been rocky going way back. In that video her former friend sold to the tabloids, apparently teenaged Meghan was saying that she and her dad currently weren’t speaking. As we have seen, Meghan (like Harry) seems to be an incredibly forgiving person who always wants to see the best in people and give them a chance, so T. Markle probably got a lot of second chances with her. The wedding drama and aftermath of selling her out to tabloids, TV, and plotting with the half-sister was likely the camel’s back breaking straw for the relationship. The man can’t be trusted and is likely a safety risk for her and her family because he it too willing to sell info.

  14. Kalana says:

Kate’s family is tight-knit but also very dysfunctional. The three Middleton kids were not raised to be independent and productive members of society. All three had to find partners to cover their bills or be funded by their parents. All three have never had successful projects except for some charity sport things. Similar to William in a way.

The Middletons are loyal to each other but extremely dysfunctional. Look at any “Middleton blood” article or Kate using memorials and funerals as pr ops or James Middleton’s whole vibe. Pippa, the most independent Middleton, seems the closest to normal.

  15. Miranda says:

So if Bill had told her that his uncle was a pedophile, would Kate have called off her desperate social climbing campaign? I mean, talk about embarrassing realatives…

    • MsIam says:

LOL! Plus look at William’s own upbringing. Was that “traditional, strong and close-knit” ? How many years did they date before Kate met most of the family? This article is dumb and that straw haired racist Seward needs to have several seats.

  16. Cecilia says:

Kate really needs to keep her nose out of harry’s and meghans business.

  17. jaylee says:

Kate is always looking at Harry’s mouth. She wanted a bite of that ginger snap.

  18. Seraphina says:

Trying to rewrite the narrative so that Kate’s halo stays dim when compared to Wills’. Unfortunately for them, there are receipts.

    • Cecilia says:

Are you referring to the last line? Where ingrid quite literally says that kate can’t fix the rift? I wondered why they put that in there since they’ve been pushing this whole “kate the peacemaker” narrative so hard.

  19. Jane says:

As someone who comes from a highly dysfunctional family in which various people are estranged from each other, it enrages me when this is used as an attempt to discredit Meghan, presumably by people who are lucky enough to have never experienced it themselves. There is more than enough evidence in the public domain to compare and contrast the different sides of Meghan’s family, and anyone with any sense can see who’s in the right and who’s in the wrong. And anyone with any sense of compassion, which we’re being told Kate apparently has in spades, would have worked a bit harder to welcome Meghan into her new family, and try and become an alternative to the sister and brother that had let her (Meghan) down so badly, and replicate the close sibling relationship which she (Kate) is lucky enough to enjoy. After all, isn’t that the appeal of the Middleton family to William? Their ability to provide him with something he’d missed out on?

    • SarahCS says:

      YES. All of this.

Having had first hand experience of family dysfunction you need to make healthy choices for yourself and that’s the best outcome. Don’t hang on to people just because you share DNA. People who come from more typical nuclear families and/or lack emotional intelligence can really struggle to understand this (waves to my boyfriend who is absolutely lovely but still occasionally asks if I’ve heard from my father who he has met once in our 11 years together and has heard how awful he is from a wide range of others including my grandmother talking about her own son and the hurt he caused her).

  20. MCV says:

Were Kate and Harry really that close? He wasn’t even super close with his brother to begin with like…

    • notasugarhere says:

No, they weren’t. When the engagement was surprise announced, Harry said, ‘I’m looking forward to getting to know her’. Ten years of her dating his brother, no relationship with Harry. The Kate/Carole attempts to interfere in Harry’s life after the W&K wedding were met with a huge freeze out. The best was Harry issuing a statement that no, he was not dating Pipster. Carole was so livid, she dictated an article about how she (Carole) didn’t like Harry because she felt he was uncouth. LOL

    • The whole royal family is weird. I read a London Times article yesterday about Camilla’s son, (Andrew Parker-Bowles). One of his interesting comments about watching Prince Phillip’s funeral on tv was that he’d never actually met Prince Phillip. And yet there are photos showing them all coming out of the “blessing” ceremony on the day Camilla and Charles married. Andrew saying he never met Phillip indicates that even at that ceremony he was never introduced to his —- from that moment on —- father of his new stepfather! Can you imagine? Talk about dysfunctional families.

      • Carolind says:

Andrew Parker Bowles was Camilla’s first husband who was/is close to Princess Anne. Tom Parker Bowles is Camilla’s son.

  21. Jay says:

If you are really “like a sister” to someone, I think your reaction to finding out they hadn’t met their future father in law might be concern, or pity, but it wouldn’t be held against the person they wish to marry. And, given all we have seen of father Thomas since, it’s perfectly understandable. I also think that if you marry into a family that insists its members curtsey to each other, you don’t get to judge.

Also, endless lols to the idea that Kate is now “burdened” with being a peacemaker. First, she has to quietly lead a revolution, then she has to manage the Cambridge social media account, then make peace in our time between two warring brothers, all while also doing the school run. How does she do it?

  22. Merricat says:

Harry is not and has never been the least bit interested in Kate except as the woman his brother married. She buried their familial tie when she Mean Girled his pregnant suicidal wife. Shove off, Middletons.

    • equality says:

She supposedly also mean girled his cousins B&E and Harry is close with them. That and all the rumors out there of her trying to scare off his previous girlfriends, makes me wonder if he ever really saw Kate as a sister and isn’t just polite to her.

      • notasugarhere says:

All this plus Kate/Carole attempts to direct Harry’s life and lovelife, including their attempts to get him interested in Pipster.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

I read somewhere (here maybe) that she apparently had a ‘list’ of suitable wives/GFs for Harry and tried to fi him up with a few of them but was turned down and told to back off him.

      • GuestWho says:

        @Digital Unicorn

I wish I could find that blog you are referring to – it was from before Meghan was even a glint in his eye and it was pretty damning about his relationship with Kate and how pushy she was with her literal! list. If I recall correctly, it also went into detail about how irritating her flirtatious behavior was to both W and H – not because W cared about her making cow eyes at his brother, but because she claimed she did it to make H feel included and it was explained to her that a prince of the realm didn’t need her help. The whole thing was pretty funny and really blows apart the whole “harry thinks of her as the sister he never had” narrative.

      • notasugarhere says:

Could have been Enclave24, which Kate stans bullied in to quitting.

    • Merricat says:

Nota, the Pippa thing is grossest of all.

  23. Amy Bee says:

I’m going to give Kate a pass here for the most part. These are Ingrid Seward’s views on this issue not Kate’s. Seward has been the in press pleading with Meghan to talk to her toxic father and as mentioned he was invited to the wedding. If anything Kate was insensitive to Meghan’s problems with her dad. Meghan said she didn’t understand why Kate was behaving the way she was at the bridesmaids fitting when she knew everything that was going with Meghan’s father.

    • Tessa says:

I’ m not Kate is no saint. I think she’s delighted with these headlines to show her “beloved” Harry the Error of His ways. Just disgusting.

  24. Gina says:

I think it’s pure fiction, at least I hope so. This tripe has two main purposes, even three: first, to put out there the false narrative that Kate “is so close to Harry”, second, to remind to everyone about Meghan’s trash family, and third – to smear Meghan one more time using the same narrative tabs used from the beginning: “Meghan abandoned her family, her poor innocent father”, etc. therefore she is awful person. And of course, to remind to everyone about how miserable Harry is without his “sister”.
If Kate really had to do something with this bullsh-t, then she is… I have no words. Better, I won’t write what I’m thinking about this Karen.
Side note: why can’t people see through these articles, these press manipulations? It’s so obvious. Why all this garbage is working with Brits? There’s no way that half or more of population of Britain who consume their news from Daily Mail, are so narrow-minded?

    • VS says:

Those in the uk, I don’t know how much, believe this BS….you see them on twitter, quoting the DM as a reference point on H&M news….those are braindead and stupid people but it looks like the majority of royalists are just like Maga.

  25. The Duchess says:

Duchess Karen is throwing all the stones whilst forgetting she lives in a very big glass house.

  26. Alexandria says:

Dear Kate and Kate, Harry said goodbye.

Please turn around and walk. I can demo to you for a fee.

  27. S808 says:

Kate’s own mama pimped her out. Idk why Ingrid thinks Meghan has the monopoly on toxic parents.

  28. AVEA says:

How is this any of her business though? Even if the whole wedding debacle hadn’t happened, why does she care about Harry meeting Meghan’s dad? Some family members you don’t introduce your SO to because they suck. Harry was lucky he only talked to the phone to that man.
You’d think she would have learned about families not being the same and having different dynamics through her “work”, a concept actual toddlers are taught, but nah, she has to be the peacemaker and insert herself in situations she doesn’t belong in

  29. Mooney says:

Does noone tell this bitch that she looks she’s lusting over Meghan’s husband? Her fans are the creepiest lot who actually like it.

That blue coat and fascinator one is my favourite pic when Harry told her to piss off and he stormed away right in front of her. Her face wasn’t very smug and pleased then 😈she was really playing for her and her fans’fantasies that day, reviving the good ol’days 🤮🤢 while his heavily pregnant wife was at home.

    • MangoAngelesque says:

“told her to piss off and stormed away right in front of her…”

I don’t remember that story! Do tell, please!

      • Mooney says:

Not exactly told her, just gestured her. It was 2019 Anzac Day service in Westminster Abbey and that time Meghan was pregnant and Cain was in another country I think for the same event. Kate was trying to be clingy but Harry ignored her. After the service, she approached him again and that time he just pointed towards the car and walked away (to a separate car I think). He really looked furious.

    • Oh says:

He rode in the SAME car with her…. and remember at that time he had already moved to frogmore cottage… but in 2018 Meghan was still living in KP and they went to Wimbledon in two separate cars. interesting 🙃🤔🤔🤔🤔……

  30. Emily_C says:

The more the RR spins this bad fanfic, the more I’m thinking of a fairy tale of my own…

An intelligent and kind “commoner” from a faroff land rescues a prince from the horrible ogres that pass for his family on a grey and salty isle. Together, they escape to a sunny land where they have a beautiful house and raise chickens.

  31. Harper says:

I can see Kate landing on this issue and obsessing over it only because it would appear to be the crack in Meghan’s put-together life that Kate was looking for. Kate can be “so worried about Meghan and her father” (even though Meghan can handle him herself just fine) or “it’s so odd that Harry never met Thomas Markle, isn’t it?” to make Kate feel less insecure about being around Meghan but none of her concern is rooted in supporting Meghan. It’s not often referred to, but in the Oprah interview, Meghan said she couldn’t understand why Kate was going after her at the flower girl fitting when Kate knew all the pressure Meghan was under at that moment with her father flaking on her and having a heart attack (supposedly). That is the real picture of what Kate was like to be around.

  32. Noor says:

The paper wrote Kate “could not understand why Harry had never met his future father-in-law, nor why Meghan,…appeared embarrassed about her family and unwilling to speak about them apart from her mother,”

The tabloid intention is always to smear Meghan but they always end up making Kate and William look silly and out of touch.

How can Kate a grown woman aged 39 years living in 21st century Britain not know about dysfunctional and toxic families, single mothers, divorced parents etc. It makes Kate looks like she is living in a bubble and out of touch with Britain.

    • equality says:

Did Kate ever ask about Meghan’s family? Meghan had things about her dad on her blog so why wouldn’t she have talked about him and how their relationship was before he went off the deep end?

  33. GuestWho says:

Who was worrying about Meghan and Harry’s toxic father?

These articles are so ridiculous and tiresome. But May is coming with lots of joy for the Sussexes: baby boy birthday; wedding anniversary; Vax concert…booked and busy.

  34. MsIam says:

Who gives a damn what Kate thinks? Meghan doesn’t. And people who have an “Uncle Cokey” shouldn’t throw stones.

  35. Amy Bee says:

Btw, I don’t believe Harry and Kate were that close but he supported her as William’s wife. Harry was made to part of the trio because the palace wanted to boost Wiliam and Kate’s image and popularity. If there’s one thing I believe in Omid’s book is that Harry hated doing those trio engagements.

    • Oh says:

Then why did he keep working with them??? The biggest mistake Harry ever made was sharing the same office and foundation with these two.

      • equality says:

Maybe it is what the Queen asked him to do. The BM narrative seems to be that Will needs Harry for some reason. The Queen might have had him there to help Will along in some way. At the least, he was probably the one coming up with the workable ideas that they could take credit for. I think he only really tried being a “working” royal because the Queen asked him to. And, if she or Charles at least had given support, he probably would have stayed.

      • notasugarhere says:

The foundation started out as the joint foundation of the brothers. Kate was added after the wedding ceremony. Harry may have felt is easier to keep the peace then, while always planning to have his own separate foundation once he married. He was smart enough to keep his private charity work far out of reach of W&K.

The Queen knew Harry was both incredibly valuable and eyeing the door before he met Meghan. That’s why she gave him the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust presidency, after she and Geidt created it. To give him something big to do, tied to the monarchy, that might keep him around. No, fanfictioners, Harry didn’t create the QCT and give it to his granny. Go read the founding documents.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@equality – I completely agree with your theory!

      • harla says:

I imagine that neither Charles nor the queen wanted to fund a separate office for bachelor Harry, when it was more cost effective to have him stay with the KP offices at least until he married.

      • notasugarhere says:

It wouldn’t have been more cost effective, but it was a way to continue to have him funded (improperly) out of Duchy funds. Leaving more Sovereign Grant funds for Andrew et. al.

Once Harry became a working royal, he should have been given his own office out of BP. Continuing to keep him in the same office as William was just another way William demanded (and got) ongoing control of his brother.

  36. aquarius64 says:

This was part of the anniversary stories on the Cambridges and don’t understand why Bad Dad is part of this. I guess she thinks Harry should have paid off his trouble making in laws like William paid off her family.

TT hasn’t been in the news lately. He tried to embarrass Oprah in giving him an interview by showing up at her house with a tabloid camera handing her a letter. It’s been a month and crickets. He also made noise about suing Meghan’s friends for defamation; going to People Magazine about the letter. He had trouble getting the names. FYI: there is a statute of limitation to sue for defamation in the US; 1-3 years and it depends on the state. People’s home office is in Des Moines, IA. In Iowa the statute of limitations is two years. TT had until February 2021 to file the suit. Looks like he missed the deadline.

    • GuestWho says:

Oprah has toxic family members that sold her out to the tabloids, so Tom went to the right person to tell his story.
Funny he was so close to Meghan’s address and didn’t stop by.
I really think Harry really cuss him out. For some reason I don’t think he likes Harry, wonder if it’s because when they started dating Meghan cut off tom financially, for the wedding she made the travel arrangements and purchase his clothes in London, with Tom not getting his hands on any money.

    • swirlmamad says:

Ok, I googled and I guess I somehow missed this development. I am laughing…..Meghan BARELY mentioned him in the interview yet he felt so self-important that he had to deliver a letter asking Oprah for a chance to “tell his side”? This man is a total joke and a half. So glad Oprah ignored him like the annoying gnat he is.

  37. swirlmamad says:

Kate can take a stadium full of seats. WHAT BUSINESS IS IT OF HERS if Harry had not met his father-in-law????? Man, if “WHO ASKED YOU?!??!?” was a person….

The BM is legitimately obsessed with this asinine idea that Kate is somehow Harry’s stand-in “mommy (mummy?)-wife” hybrid. It’s not even Will’s business to stick his nose in, no matter how much he wants it to be so. These people are so sickening and stalkerish.

This is just tabloid BS. They are reaching now. Rehashing old stories and putting a new spin on them. They have nothing new because the Sussexes and their PR team are not leaking. So let’s make up shit using old stories.
Don’t they have an anniversary to celebrate? There should be so much to write about, perfect marriage, hardest working couple, revolutionaries changing everything, saving the world by their mere presence. Ugh GTFOH

  41. 809Matriarch says:

All I’m getting from this is the same old Kate butting in where she has no business. She has a track record of trying to interfere in Harry’s personal life. It really is none of her dang business what Harry’s relationships or lack thereof, are like with any of HIS in-laws. PERIODT!

  42. Eurydice says:

Wow, severe morning sickness and she was still able to worry about Meghan’s estranged half-sister’s feelings. She really is a saint.

  43. Agreatreckoning says:

Pisha, Seward! We see what you’re trying to deflect. The rumors and worries that Rose up again on the Cambridge’s anniversary.

    • BayTampaBay says:

You have my vote for comment of the week!

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Aw-thanks. Though I think that honor should go to Boxy Lady for starting the Cambridge’s ‘ups and downs without a moan’ thread with a bang.

“Without a moan?” I’m choosing to interpret that as “no orgasms.” 😂

  44. Sarah says:

This story reeks of fakeness and a new way to generate clicks for the tabloids.

  45. Over it says:

Why are lying trash like ingrid Sewer crawling out again? Kate didn’t care enough about Meghan to care whether or not Harry met her family. She just wanted Harry for herself forever.

  46. equality says:

Funny how hurt poor Sam was by one innocuous comment made by Harry.

  47. TheOriginalMia says:

Yeah, I’m gonna say that’s not true. When have we ever seen Kate concerned about anytime outside of her immediate family. She “cares” about Harry when it’s convenient to her or makes her feel better in William’s presence. So no, I don’t believe Kate worried about Harry meeting Toxic Tom or the fact Meghan only invited her mother (she didn’t, but Kate wouldn’t know or care). As a mean girl, she would find humor in Meghan’s circumstances.

    • notasugarhere says:

And find spiteful pleasure, glee even, in the situation.

    • Tessa says:

Was Kate “concerned” when her Uncle knocked her Aunt unconscious. Kate needs to MYOB.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

TheOriginalMia, didn’t I read somewhere that Meghan had two other family members there? Maybe a niece and nephew? Wish I could remember what I read.

      • Guestwho says:

She had her uncle and aunt there, and i believe samantha’s daughter was there too.

  48. JustMe says:

There have been dysfunctional families from the very beginning of time ! Cain and Abel anyone!

  49. Ainsley7 says:

I think it makes sense that Kate would be worried. Meghan’s relationship with her dad wasn’t known to be toxic. She had a lot of positive things to say on her blog about him. People don’t necessarily go into great detail about their troubled childhoods with people they barely knew. We all know Kate and Meghan weren’t really friends.

I doubt Meghan would have planned to have him at the wedding if she knew he was capable of all the crap he pulled. So, yeah, I can see why Kate would be concerned that Harry hadn’t met with her Dad. It would feel like she was hiding something. Meghan herself maintains that he was manipulated. So, I get it why Kate would have concerns that there was something wrong. I mean, clearly there was…

    • Haylie says:

That really isn’t any of Kate’s business. As for her concerns, they seemed to disappear when she decided to let a racist lie about Megan out in the press to boost her own popularity.

      • swirlmamad says:

Exactly this. Even if there was some recourse for Kate to be “concerned”, it wasn’t her place then to stick her nose into their business, just like it isn’t her place now. And the bottom line is, she had no one’s interests at heart other than her own — certainly not Meghan’s and maybe only Harry’s for her own selfish reasons.

    • Tessa says:

It was None OF Kate’s business, she seemed to be a bit too “personal” with Harry. It was not her place and I think Harry told her to back off or I hope so.

      • Robin says:

Yes, that’s my understanding. Kate obviously imagines she plays a role in Harry’s life that just doesn’t exist. It must be very hard for her to accept that he isn’t interested in her opinion. She hardly has the life experience to comment on true relationships, anyway, given that she spent most of her life chasing an idiot and marrying an idiot who doesn’t really care for her.

    • Amy Too says:

It’s not like Meghan lived with her dad and every time Harry picked her up for a date she would tell him to pick her up around the corner so that Harry wouldn’t ever be able to get a glimpse of her dad through the window or knock on the door and risk having her dad open it. She wasn’t actively trying to hide him away. She lived in Canada. Harry lived in the U.K. They were both busy working people with limited time even for each other, and whenever they wanted to see each other someone had to travel across an ocean. Her dad lives in Mexico. Thousands of miles away from either of them. And he’s apparently kind of cagey and weird about making himself available to meet people or making and then keeping plans—like the whole wedding kerfuffle where he wouldn’t give any information about where he was supposedly in hospital and wouldn’t let anyone that Meghan sent meet with him to check on him, and then he cancelled at the last minute and didn’t come to the wedding. Harry knew she had a dad, he had talked to her dad on the phone a couple of times, he was comfortable enough to leave texts and voicemails for thomas before the wedding. So it’s not like she was hiding her dad away. It’s just he lived super far away from either of them, and they didn’t want to spend their limited time together spending an entire day flying down to Mexico for a quick meet and greet and then having to fly back again. That would have Harry going from U.K. to Canada to Mexico to Canada to UK again all in one weekend. He probably was able to meet Doria in person because Doria made herself available to meet him by being at Meghan’s Canada house for one of the times he visited. Or Meghan stayed with her mom for a weekend and Harry was invited to stay there with Doria and Meghan. I can’t see Thomas actually inviting Meghan and Harry to stay the weekend with him at his house, or even if he did, following through and not being a jerk the whole time they were there. Meghan would trust her mom to host Harry, she probably didn’t trust her dad to do the same, and a quick pop in visit wasn’t feasible either because of how far away he lived and the limited time H and M had together.

      • Jan says:

Doria visited in London before the wedding.
Scammy made a snide comment, that Harry will end up with three people in his bed, inferring that Meghan and her mother are joined at the hip.

      • swirlmamad says:

@Jan, so glad that Scammy seems to have been muzzled for now.

  50. Tessa says:

I don’t think the Three were “extremely close.” I think Harry was truly annoyed with both of them and wanted his own family. He probably told Kate to back off. Kate needs to look at her Uncle Gary and keep quiet about Meghan.

  51. Tessa says:

Kate should not trust Ingrid. Ingrid fawned all over Diana but turned on her after she fell out of favor.

  52. TigerMcQueen says:

Huh. It looks like Harry can’t spend time or Christmas breaks with his sister in law without personal details being spilled to the media. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  53. Robin says:

I’d be more worried about your own family, Kate, less about other people’s.

  54. Margaret says:

Imo. The markles were probably offered big money to stop the wedding. The lengths they all went to, along with the fake friend, were over the top, before and after, the wedding.
Kate’s behavior during, and after the ceremony was weird, why did she go down the steps with Charlotte, to wave, as the Sussexes entered the carriage. Everything about her actions, regarding harry is one for the strange, and over the top book.

  55. L4Frimaire says:

How is it that Thomas wasn’t invited to the wedding when he was the one who bailed on walking Meghan down the aisle and she had a whole suit ready for him to wear. These people are not dealing in facts and Harry’s relationships are none of Kates business. Wasn’t there talk that before Meghan came along she was trying to set Harry up with different people she considered suitable and he was sick of her nosiness.

    • Tessa says:

Harry and Meghan even sent him airline tickets and had a limo to go pick him up. He was invited.

  56. MerlinsMom1018 says:

All I can see in that picture is Kate looking at Harry and saying to herself, “why couldn’t it have been YOU Harry? Why won’t you love meeee?”

  57. Midge says:

Example # 8,691 of how Kate is out of touch and unable to see beyond her own narrow, privileged existence.

  58. Feeshalori says:

Kate needs to worry about her own business before she worries about anyone else’s.

  59. Merricat says:

This is so insulting to Brits who’ve come from broken homes. In Kate’s eagerness to look down on Meghan’s blood relatives, she’s effectively looking down on all of them, as well. Not a good look, Middlebrows.

    • Tessa says:

Charles was not happy with his upbringing, his parents stayed married, but he complained. And three out of four of HM’s children got divorced.

  60. K says:

The only time she isn’t superficial is with Harry. I’m just going to say I think she kinda fell in love with him. Just look at her looking at him and how she loved having him around. It’s so obvious always was.

    • Merricat says:

      And completely one-sided.

    • Tessa says:

she also had the “thrill” of being escorted to places by Two Princes. Harry was not allowed to bring a date apparently to the social events.

    • swirlmamad says:

Probably after she’d put all that time and effort into William and getting the ring, the penny finally dropped (too late) and she realized what a dud he was as a husband. She got to know Harry a bit better and likely wished the tables were turned. Not at all saying that Harry should’ve been with her in a zillion years, but in theory, she would’ve been better off as the spare’s wife for sure as it would’ve been “less” pressure and she totally knows this. Agree with everyone who has said that she should’ve set her sights on some rich financier and lived a life of mediocre obscurity.

    • Emily_C says:

Or at least in lust. But I’ve also been thinking about this: I once had a “friend” who had to have the sexual attention of every boy and then man she met. No matter who they were attached to. When it didn’t work, as with the boyfriends of her friends, she’d try to persuade us that guy was gay. And she looked at every guy like this, while being passive-aggressively insulting toward any girl or woman she considered a threat. My ability to recognize passive-aggression is nearly nil, which is why I was friends with her for so long.

So maybe Kate looks like she wants to lick every man she meets who has any power at all in her social circle? I’d need to compare more pictures to see. I do know that if a family member started looking at my husband that way, both he and I would freak out.

      • notasugarhere says:

There are many photos through the years of Kate flirting with ever under 60-man near her, from Ben Ainslie to Prince Harry. Particular interest were ones from the Olympics (women’s field hockey iirc).

  61. Bea says:

Wow. How can someone say these people are “dignified” and “classy” when all their tactics are so so low… nothing is sacred for these people. Everything is “fair game”. Even using a pregnant woman’s family to try to vilify her. It is nauseating. And for people that are proud to say “they suffer in silence” and that they keep things private… well, they are literally ALWAYS leaking stuff. Meghan and Harry NEVER said anything bad about any of them and yet they are the “bad ones”. It is infuriating.

  62. MyJobIsToPrincess says:

Kate is burdened with the task of peacemaker. She slowed down and walked 2 steps behind the brothers because she knew that was the right thing to do. That was hard work, heavy on her shoulders – but she managed.

  63. Vanessa says:

Does anyone else think that kate Is in love with Harry and that’s all these articles keep going on and on by how kate feels like she can’t be close to Harry . I don’t believe for second that kate was concern about Harry never meeting Meghan Dad kate couldn’t even string together a proper sentence about Archie being born she made some long as ridiculously sentence about it’s wonderfully time for babies to Be born in spring . The Fact that the future Queen is so sheltered that she can’t see past any another family dynamic but her own is really ridiculously.

  64. ennie says:

I want to stay out of the WK Threads, but butting in to say that that face looks like she’s thinking “waaaaaa why weren’t you born first???????”
    .
Agree with @Vanessa, You have to give ot to them, they are so “sincere” they cannot even compliment this little baby, the new member of the family, his full nephew. Way to be family oriented, mental health whatever.

  65. Ania says:

Kate really is so infantile and superficial it’s hard to believe she’s almost 40. She has this vision how perfect family looks like, huge emphasis on looks, exactly like family pictures from 50’ and keeps rambling on how important it is for kiddies to have mommy and daddy, nice home and go outside. And here it ends. I’d really like to ask her what solutions she suggests for kids with less then perfect homes? What can a single parent or loving aunt do to a child grows up in a healthy enviroment? What to do when a family member is narcisssistic and toxic and actively hurts you? What to do when a father is absent and lives in a separate home? Or mum has depression or anxiety and basically cannot be in the same room with dad? She’s like a silly child who wants mommy and daddy to stop arguing and thinks they should just hug and kiss and this will make it go away. No talking about resolving the underlying problem or whether it can actually be resolved. I’m getting the not so good vibes about how their home probably is – mum who thinks that being nice to her kids and hugging them is what mothehood is all about and Will who sees them ocassionally. Hope nanny Maria gives them some life lessons because I don’t see Kate having any substantial conversations with her kids.

    • Emily_C says:

If she cared about childhood poverty, she’d start an initiative or something about it, and dedicate herself to that. But she seems to be of the line of rich people, as long as history itself, who tells people to stop being poor, and believes that she’s done her duty. Like Lady Catherine de Bourgh:

“and whenever any of the cottagers were disposed to be quarrelsome, discontented or too poor, she sallied forth into the village to settle their differences, silence their complaints, and scold them into harmony and plenty.”

  66. Curious says:

whoever is writing these things,is making Catherine look like a love sick woman.according to what they writing, they making her sound like one jealous woman, that don’t want to give up on Harry. like she really needs Harry in her life. makes me wonder if she dressed up like that for the funeral for Harry . sort of trying to get Harry attention. sort of like look at me Harry i look hot. cause for her 10th wedding anniversary she didn’t care to dress up for William nor he for her. or put a video together of their family time together during lock down, plenty of time to do things together as a family. cooking, eating together, doing homework with the children, film them playing all together outside.planting flowers, bed time stories and so on.

    • swirlmamad says:

It’s really true — she looked like Little Miss Hot Widow at a Funeral when she knew Harry would be there (alone), and then she went right back to her Sister Wife cosplay for her anniversary photo shoot with Will. Wouldn’t you want to look amazing for your husband who you are supposed to be SO IN LOVE WITH, the perfect pigeon couple??? (that phrase is so damn stupid but it fits these peabrained bozos) It really does seem like she’s got a thing for her BIL and that’s why she hated Meghan so much and set out to make her miserable.

      • Curious says:

i think before Meghan enter into Harry life, William confided in Harry. i also think Harry have a lot of dirt on William.and i also think Catherine confided in Harry about William cheating ways . in some ways i think Catherine wishes William had Harry outgoing ways ., he is funny and can interact with anyone. William is dull. Harry is a fun guy ,William suffering from hair lost must have had a lot of pain. he knows he is not handsome and really have no sort of personality to attract any crowds. they needed their side kick Harry to make that happen. i truly believe Catherine still have a crush on Harry. Harry made her life easy to date William. William is dull and boring but he is the heir. Harry was outgoing and funny /charming and took things as they come and won each time with the public. so , in a sense Catherine had dull William, and charismatic Harry to fill in the void .looking at old pics of all 3 of them ,Catherine is always staring at Harry ,her face lights up. From the time Harry met Meghan ,Catherine lost Harry and she got no one to tell how badly william is towards her. all her tonsils laughter is too fake. very rare a joke makes anyone laugh like that in public. and even if they do ,they cover their mouth, and she never covers her mouth, its like she wants people to see what she just ate .

      • Greywacke says:

I respectfully disagree, though I understand your perspective. I think Kate loves or did love Will, but was also ambitious or was at least living out her parent’s ambitions for her. Sadly, I think she found that the only person in the royal family who really accepted her commoner background and expressed kindness at various points was Harry. (B&E could have done that, but I think women were competition. They could have been wonderful allies.) Harry was a life preserver when her own husband finds her background difficult in a world so intensely classist and rooted in belief of the “magical vagina.” What a messed up world the royals grow up in. I think that is why Harry expressed his compassion for them in his Oprah interview. He has his mom’s capacity for empathy for certain. If I were Kate, I would feel like a lost an ally even if she and Harry were not close. She’s alone in a family she can’t leave. She can’t behave or be full time with the Middletons because she is BRF, and Will wouldn’t leave to defend her like Harry did for Meghan.

      • Madelaine says:

        @Curious: Perfect summary, thanks.

      • notasugarhere says:

William’s cheating has always been known, that wouldn’t be something that turned Harry into a Kate supporter or confidant. William has always cheated on Kate. Kate even tried to scare away Chelsy with tales of accepting cheating – ergo no love lost for Kate on Harry’s end. On Harry’s side, William cheating on Kate is par for the course, the deal she accepted by ruthlessly pursuing his philandering brother for a decade.

Kate is free to leave at any time. The monarchy will not remove her children, she would not be ostracised. She chooses to stay because this is what she wants – business arrangment marriage in exchange for a lazy life, status, and press attention.

  67. Donna B. says:

You know, Twitter has a way of finding “forgotten videos” from the past. I bookmarked a video showing drug dealing kate’s uncle gary talking to a film crew, using drugs (he looked like he was scraping some coke on the table), & bragging about how his niece is about to marry william. He said his sister-carole’s daughter-kate is about to marry into the royal family. I couldn’t believe it, openly using drugs, not afraid of being filmed, while knowing his niece is about to become apart of the British Royal Family. Geez. 🤦🏾‍♀️

  68. Donna B. says:

Also, the British Royal Family, the British Media, & the Royal Rota & everyone else in Broadcasting, Journalism, etc. are in for a rude awakening. If you are reading this & a H&M (especially M) hater, you are being put on a list. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. We don’t play that in the USA. See Twitter: Write Life PR.

  69. Curious says:

Meghan being the only biracial woman in that family. she was against the odds. all the courtiers and harry blood family is white. she went through hell with no one beside harry and her mother at her side. she survived and moved on, leaving them in her dust. every where in the world people of different skin tones watched what the royal family did and is still doing to Meghan.. none will stand still for such abuse. so many powerful people was taken down cause of the me too movement.its time to block this racist royal family. how can they do this to a smart woman that is not white and still expect people to respect them ? there is a melting pot of skin tones in the uk. how do they stand quiet by the mistreatment of Meghan? in this case, i will say Meghan never put a foot wrong, she carried out her duties, even when the press was writing hellraiser press about her.
