Prince Charles is ‘still fuming’ about Prince Harry, plans to ‘freeze out’ Harry

'Our Planet' World Premiere - Arrivals

Before Prince Philip’s funeral, I said a few times that the bigger story would be Prince Harry and Prince Charles, as opposed to Prince Harry and William. While the “battle of the brothers” is clearly a major story which will be played out for years to come, Harry is incredibly angry with his father. He is so mad at Charles, he could barely contain his disgust in the Oprah interview. I tend to believe that Harry went back to the UK to bury his grandfather and did not try to confront his father OR reconcile with his father. Harry was just there to be civil and walk away clean, like before. But apparently Charles wants people to know that he’s still mad at Harry. This family, my God.

Still estranged. Prince Charles and Prince Harry‘s relationship will be rocky for a while after they saw each other in the U.K. for Prince Philip’s funeral earlier this month.

“Unfortunately, Harry and Charles didn’t resolve their differences when Harry returned to the U.K. They barely communicated,” a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly. “There definitely continues to be a huge wedge between the two.”

Harry, 36, got real about his strained dynamic with Charles, 72, during his and Meghan Markle’s tell-all CBS interview in March, claiming that his father “stopped taking my calls” after the pair stepped away from their duties in 2020. He added that “there’s a lot to work through” with the future king.

Harry and Charles reunited at Philip’s funeral on April 17 alongside Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, Duchess Kate and more members of the royal family. However, the father-son duo did not take the opportunity to mend what is broken.

“Charles is still fuming about Harry throwing shade at him and the royal family in the big interview and won’t let it drop,” the insider notes. “But to be honest, Harry didn’t go running back to Charles begging for forgiveness either. He still hasn’t forgiven his father for his lack of effort and support after he and Meghan decided to move. The reason Harry went back to the U.K. was to see the queen and to pay his respects to Prince Philip. That’s about as far as it goes.”

The Prince of Wales has a new vision in mind for the future, which does not involve Harry.

“Charles is working toward a new slimmed-down monarchy and is freezing Harry out. He’s actually already out,” the source says. “After the damage Harry has caused the family, he firmly believes that his son doesn’t deserve the privilege of being a royal.”

Given the depth of the circumstances, royal watchers should not hold their breath for a reconciliation. According to the insider, “To put it bluntly, it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing Harry and Charles making amends anytime soon.”

[From Us Weekly]

“Charles is still fuming about Harry throwing shade at him.” Oh it’s like THAT! I want to know which courtier – or perhaps some American royalist – thought it would be clever to drop “throwing shade.” Harry didn’t throw shade! Harry was openly and bluntly angry and upset with his father. No “shade.” As for Charles planning to “freeze out” Harry – yet another “you can’t quit, you’re fired” story. Harry peaced out of that bitch (Britain) more than a year ago and they’re still acting like they can punish him for something. Anyway, such maturity from Chaz. So regal, so kingly, to act like a big f–king baby when your son is clearly hurt and angry over YOUR words and actions.

Harry went out of his way to move his family across the Atlantic and all the way next to the pacific to make sure he was as far as possible from his birth family. Chuck, get a clue. Your son doesn’t care if you freeze him out. He has considered himself and his wife and son out of the family for more than a year. The worse that can be done is that they have the titles removed and I really don’t see the Queen, Chuck, or Bill petitioning Parliament to ask for that. Ok, maybe Baldingham (if) when he is king thinking that he is doing something.

    • Becks1 says:

And even that would be in 20, 25, 30 years – if William is still that incensed over his brother in 20 years…..

    • Merricat says:

Lol, you said it, JT. The House of Windsor is powered by spite.

    • Laugh or Cry says:

Didn’t someone say Harry signs used “Windsor Mountbatten” on his legal documents? Sounds like Sussex is a byline but on money issues, he doesn’t use the peerage thing. Now, it really would be an interesting topic of removing his title because who knows, there may a portion of England that would like to remove ALL those peerage titles.

  2. bitsycs says:

Every time I read something about these toxic assholes I think – imagine having all the access and money to obtain the best PR available and then just shitting the bed every single day. It’s baffling, hilarious and downright sad.

    • Persephone says:

Right? Right? I can’t get why no one on their respective teams (KP, BP, CH) realizes that yet.

    • Eurydice says:

I think it must be a thankless job to be on the RF’s PR team. Between the intrigue and the leaking courtiers and the press making up whatever they want, there doesn’t seem to be any control.

    • Well, the TAMPON King has spoken. I think the only thing left to Charles and William and their cluster of family and media clowns is putting the word out —- as William as been so blatantly doing —- that everyone has to openly pick a team. If you’re team Sussex, then these recent mouthpiece articles from the 🐀Rota via the Firm are communicating loudly that the Firm will do everything to take you down and ostracize you from their royal favor. That’s all they got left….to MEAN GIRL the Sussexes.

      • Golly Gee says:

Interesting too that they gave the story to Us Weekly instead of a UK tabloid. Now having realized the amount of influence that the American media has, the RF want to influence the opinions of American and Canadian audiences as well. The only reason I can think for doing this are: 1. Because if the American media has an opposing message, it dilutes the influence of the British media. 2. Since everything is online now, BRITs have as much access to American media as to their own media and can read differing messages. 3. To undercut the popularity and resulting power held by the Sussexes. The last thing Charles wants is for them to be successful. If they have to crawl back on their knees, the status quo remains unchanged and firm.

I’m excited to see if there’s a marked shift in their PR one their crisis managers start in May. Will it be a slow change to make it make sense: Prince Charles (or William) is reflecting on what was said in the Oprah interview/ PC/W is softening towards H and M, realizes that the Sussexes really did believe they were being pilloried in the press/ PC/W reaches out to H and M to break the ice, hopes to mend feud? Or will it be swift and give us all whiplash: PC to investigate institutional racism in the monarchy, reaches out to Meghan for her insights on how the RF could have done better?

Or maybe the crisis managers will be completely ignored and quit within a week. Maybe they’ll be hand picked, Eton boy friends of William and they’ll use them to write stories like “Crisis managers review Sussexes extraordinary claims of racism and bus throwing, conclude that the RF acted perfectly properly every step of the way, can’t think of anything they would have done differently if they themselves were in charge at the time.”

Or my favorite theory, the crisis managers aren’t here for the Sussex issue at all, they’re here to spearhead Will’s divorce PR so that he comes out looking like a good man and father who just couldn’t make the marriage work because he was never fully sure about it in the first place and now he wants to show his children that being honest and happy in life is the better choice for one’s mental health than being dishonest and unhappy, shoving down your feelings and staying in an unworkable marriage just to project a certain image.

      • Becks1 says:

@AmyToo – your last paragraph makes sense in the context of what many of us asked when the crisis PR people were announced – “why weren’t they coming on board until May? you’re in crisis NOW.” But maybe they’re not coming on to help with the Sussex issue at all (after all, charles and william think they are handling that PERFECTLY), maybe they’re coming on board for some other issue, like William’s divorce. That would explain the desperate edge to some of the pro-Kate pieces lately.

      • GuestWho says:

I like your favorite theory. If he’s going to pull the trigger, shouldn’t he do it before the queen passes on and he moves up the Duchy? Less money for her in the settlement. And CERTAINLY before he’s made PoW. They won’t want a stray princess of wales flitting about the countryside.

      • Merricat says:

Yes, I think your favorite theory is sound. Harry is free and happy, now William wants his freedom, or at least as much of it as he can get. If William wants it, it will be so.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Amy Too, oh, thats an excellent observation!! And it makes perfect sense too as the onslaught of puffy pieces of Keen Doucheness and they even bring out the pedo Uncle Gary into the mix. Keen Doucheness had better start packing her bags as it seems that Baldimort has had enough of your conniving BS. I am certain that Charles would be happy to hire a team of packers for Keen Doucheness at this very moment, after her scandalous accusations that the monarchy should skip Charles.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Amy Too, I wonder if that’s why all of the strange articles that have written recently is because the RRs are angry that “Crisis Managers” are going to be framing the narrative going forward? The only question is whether the palaces can get everyone talking on the same page–the one the CMs map out for them? Then the only camp the brf needs to get control of is the Mids Camp. I have no doubt that they can reign them in when they decide to do it.

  3. Becks1 says:

He has plans to freeze Harry out because Harry doesn’t deserve the privilege of being a royal?

Were these people sleeping for the past year? Did they miss the Netflix deal, Spotify deal, start of Archewell, the house in Montecito, the multiple collaborations announced, the Better Up position, the Aspen Institute role, the meeting with Wallis Annenberg, the Global Citizen concert announced this week?

You can’t freeze Harry out. He’s in warm sunny California and he’s doing JUST FINE. He said “no thanks” to your royal privileges and he’s doing his own thing and he is killing it.

Of course that’s the whole crux of the matter, right? You’re not supposed to walk away from the royal family and be successful.

    • Cecilia says:

Of course you are not supposed to do well after leaving the rf. If meghan and harry can prove that they can work for a living while doing meaningful charitable work then what is the point of having a royal family?

I keep saying that m&h are more threat to the institution outside of it than inside of it. Too bad the royals were too shortsighted to see it. But thank god meghan and harry made a clean break

      • lunchcoma says:

They learned the wrong lessons from Edward and Wallis, who were pathetic in exile. But Edward and Wallis were selfish, shallow, bigoted people before the abdication.

Taking away the royal titles only leaves you with nothing if you had nothing to offer in the first place.

      • Becks1 says:

They are definitely more of a threat now than before. And you’re right, their success is going to make people look at Charlotte and Louis in 20, 25 years and think – why are we still supporting them, why can’t they do what Harry did? And that’s part of the real threat in William’s mind IMO.

      • Nina says:

This reminds me of a former friend I had when I was going through a divorce. She was in a terrible marriage, and she turned on me after I got out of mine and was doing fine – started talking shit about how my kid was suffering, etc. when in fact my kid was better for the change. I finally realized that in order to justify staying in her marriage, she HAD to believe that my daughter and I were suffering. The parallels are striking!

    • GuestWho says:

“He has plans to freeze Harry out because Harry doesn’t deserve the privilege of being a royal?” That made me laugh out loud.

Chuck (and/or his sycophants) are clearly not understanding what happened last year and that the “privilege” is actually a giant millstone around their necks. He’s finally free – he’s not going to give that up.

I really can’t imagine any other royal (except maybe Ann) pulling off going independent. They don’t have life skills (or people skills).

When are the crisis managers starting? They certainly have their job cut out for them with this clueless crew.

      • E says:

@guestwho if the BRF is a “giant millstone around his neck,” why does he renounce his titles? It’s clear that Harry and Meghan, in keeping their royal titles, want to benefit from their association with the BRF. Both parties are using the other—just as various factions/courts within the monarchy use each other.

      • Becks1 says:

omg, I’m so sick of “why don’t they renounce their titles”. They’re basically at the point now where people know them as Harry and Meghan, so I would say they’re NOT trading off their titles or using the monarchy or whatever else people want to say.

most people with titles are NOT members of the royal family. the titles were given to them, they are keeping them, they are entitled to do so, full stop.

      • equality says:

Meghan only “holds” titles in association with Harry. He is the one who holds the titles. And, perhaps, he doesn’t renounce them because they were a GIFT from his beloved grandmother? Throwing them back in her face wouldn’t look very gracious, would it? And, perhaps, he doesn’t renounce them because there is no fuss over ANYBODY else who isn’t a “working” royal having a title. And Harry has said no such comment about the BRF being a “millstone”. He also has been titled his ENTIRE life and perhaps that is why he isn’t renouncing.

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

@E……um…..sweetums: the giant millstone is around the necks of those poor bastards left stuck in that I.N.S.T.I.T.U.T.I.O.N. (note well that word and its connotations.)

And FYI, once again, for you and all the others like you with your deliberate and glaring disingenuity: Prince Harry can no more get rid of the mantle “Prince” than he could his skin color. Because: He. Was. Born. With. It.

I know you and your ilk would like nothing more than to have what happened to his mother to happen to his wife so that, in your fantasy, he can come crawling back to the INSTITUTION, but newsflash: its not gonna happen.

      • GuestWho says:

        @E

Because it is, for all intents and purposes, his f’ing name!

The millstone is no longer around H’s neck. As I said, he is free – and free to use his name for whatever flipping purpose he sees fit.

      • Keri says:

Harry was born a prince. That can’t be taken away from him. The Queen herself said through a Buckingham Palace spokesperson that the Sussexes would be keeping their titles. Maybe you should be taking up the titles issues with her? It would take an act of Parliament. Too much red tape and trouble to go through with removing their titles. Unlike the Sussex haters, she’s smart enough to avoid setting a precedent. If they were to be that petty, what would stop Parliament from doing the same to any other member of the Royal family or the Aristocratic set down the line? Not to mention it would be another PR disaster for them. Yeah, not going to happen.

      • Jaded says:

@E – You do realize it takes an act of parliament to remove royal titles. He can’t just get up one morning and say “Right then, I’ll just cancel myself”. It’s a long, complicated process and not worth the time and effort. FURTHERMORE, he and Meghan are using their titles FOR THE BENEFIT OF THEIR CHARITABLE WORK. They’re not using them to swan around on yachts sipping champagne and farting through silk undies. They’re working hard, far harder than his lazy-ass brother and SIL ever did or ever will. If anyone deserves to have their titles rescinded it’s Willnot and Kannot.

      • LahdidahBaby says:

Jaded, you do have a marvelous way with words. Omg, “swanning around on yachts and farting through silk undies.” I’m lying on my damn bed with a rare (for me) severe migraine, and I can’t believe I just LOL’d at your words (yeouch!)–but after the immediate onslaught of pain, it actually made me feel better. Thanks. Please don’t stop.

      • Chartreuse says:

E, in case you haven’t noticed, prince Andrew, aka pedo prince, ‘traded’ off royal connections doing dodgy deals with crims. Fergie did as well. But none of the royals, with all their ‘connections’ have been independently successful like Harry and meghan. They can’t even buy their own houses? So if trading off royal connections really worked, they’d all be successful. Edward had to go crawling back after his businesses went to the wall. Sophie went broke . There is no connection of value.

    • TeamMeg says:

Well said @Becks1! Wake up BRF. You are the frozen ones.

    • Carmen-JamRock says:

Am mighty curious too. Lets play the BRF-and-their-minions’ game. Lets say H is crumbling at the thought of being freezed out of king charlie’s monarchy and wants desperately to “deserve the privilege of being a royal.” (Jeeebus christus…do these people listen to themselves???!!!)

      But let’s carry on.

As you said, @Becks1, did they miss: the MULTI-YEAR Netflix deal; the MULTI-YEAR Spotify deal; Archewell Inc., with its Foundation, Production House and Archewell Audio; the mansion in Montecito for which theyre paying a mortgage; the multiple collaborations announced; the Better Up position; the Aspen Institute role; the meeting with Wallis Annenberg; etcetera; etcetera; etcetera.

I wonder where they put all that, when they splash around in their wet dream fantasies about H&M and that sick, dark place called the BRF?

I am convinced that when the RotaRats set out to write their fanfictions abt the royals, given that its fiction, they feel quite justified in ignoring anything that interferes with their narratives.

Therefore, H&M’s real life and real feelings about the real things that happened to them while they were in that institution; and the real-life, consequential DECISIONS theyve subsequently made about how they will live their real life going forward, are just so many intrusions in the RotaRats’ fictions that they simply ignore it all.

    • 809Matriarch says:

I think (and this is really sad) they are saying because they don’t like Harry’s telling the truth, that now, Harry’s SON does not deserve the privilege of being a royal prince – even though once Charles is King, it is Archie’s birthright.

Oh well, Archie has an empire ahead of him and he will be free to live his own life.

    • Laugh or Cry says:

Yes, and if you want to slim down the monarchy, why would you NOT want your kinfolks to be able support themselves? Another example of this being a vile institution with vile people that needs to be completely dismantled. It like the awfulness is passed down from heir to heir, honestly George may worst because he is being fed this garbage from both familial sides.

  4. Lolo86lf says:

It looks like like Harry and Meghan will be staying in America for a long time. I love having English blue-blood on our turf.

  5. Lizzie says:

Isn’t this basically the same ‘ditching Harry’ story from a few days ago? Since Harry left over a year ago I guess they are supposing Charles was going to offer Harry some crumbs to come back but not anymore.

  6. Nomegusta says:

No matter how old Harry is, he is still the child in this situation and his father has repeatedly failed him.

I hope the monarchy does end with Charles.

After the ish the RF pulled during the last season of the Crown, I hope those show runners body that whole family next season

    • Lizzie says:

I think this is the area that Harry has spent a lot of his therapy time dealing with. I remember when club H was originally reported they said then the fault was Charles was a distant father and of course this is what happens if you leave teens basically living on their own. I’m sure adult Harry sees his father didn’t really step up to be a parent and let both sons down.

    • KA says:

This is the part that bothers me more than anything else. Siblings fighting, growing apart, etc- that is normal and accepted by most people as a sad, but somewhat normal occurance. A father cutting his child out of life, potentially endangering him and his family, ignoring grandchildren, etc. It happens- but it is generally accepted as terrible parenting.

      • Laugh or Cry says:

THIS is the issue for me. Aside from the expected racism, he purposefully exposed their location and remove security so harm to befall on his son, his daughter in law, his grandson, and the dogs!!!! And to make it special, he ignores his calls and pleas for help!!!! From. His. Son. He has tried to rehab is image of not being the catalyst of Diana’s car accident but this jackal has not changed at all.

    • Sid says:

Once when I was out with my elderly father he automatically reached for my grown adult hand when we were going to cross the street, then laughed when he realized what he did. When our Uber driver went a little too fast for his liking, he kindly lectured him to please be careful because his (adult) children and toddler grandson were in the car. Charles’s behavior towards Harry and Archie is so far out of anything that I can comprehend. The dysfunction in that family is something else.

      • Dawning says:

@SID – That’s why I think that Archie and Little Miss Montecito will be better off in the US without the RF’s direct influence. After all, we all know the dysfunction and toxicity that exist in that family.

      • Ania says:

Sid this is really sweet! I think that the situation with Charles hit Harry hard again when Archie was born. Before you Have a child you know that you will love him, Never hurt etc but when The child is actually here you suddenly FEEL all those things intensely. That’s usually the moment you understand your parents or sadly realize how much they hurt you and did things you would never do to your child.

    • February-Pisces says:

Most parents would die for their children, Charles wouldn’t. He doesn’t even care for his own sons safety. He basically refused to accept archie as his grandson because of the colour of his skin. When harry came back for the funeral, he hadn’t seen his son for over a year, and he decided to p*ss off the wales. He’s not fit to be a father and not fit to be king.

  7. MaryContrary says:

Good lord-these people and their PR “strategy”!?? They just continually shoot themselves in the foot. Even if Charles is privately upset/embarrassed/ whatever-he should be echoing the Queen’s lines about M & H always being a beloved part of the family, that he loves Archie, and that they have his full support as they navigate their private lives. But no-just continue to look petty and oblivious and awful, making it glaringly obvious that Harry was right to call him out.

  8. Emily_C says:

Didn’t he already freeze Harry out? He cancelled his security with no warning and wouldn’t take his calls. Charles is absolutely heartless.

    • Greywacke says:

This is a made up story by US Weekly. As people upthread have already pointed out, he has already been frozen out. The only things he’s allowed to do as royal is attend funerals.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Greywacke, I agree. I would never get my news from US Weekly. It’s an entertainment/tabloid magazine. I’m sure they will put out whatever the Mids (or whomever) wants, but basically they are just for entertainment and gullible.

    • MsIam says:

Gee, I wonder who benefits from Charles looking heartless…..?

      • Emily_C says:

Charles is heartless. I’m going by what Harry said, and also by what Charles did to Diana, which Will cannot be held responsible for. Charles is the one who cut off Harry’s security; Charles is the one who stopped taking Harry’s calls. There are a lot of Windsors who have ice water instead of blood in their veins — Charles comes by it honestly.

  9. Cecilia says:

Im still trying to figure out how you freeze someone out after they willingly left.

  10. Roserose says:

I just could not imagine having any other reaction than ” you go do what makes you happy and healthy and how can I support you guys?” if my children ever come to me saying “this situation is toxic, I need to leave for my family’s health”.

    • GuestWho says:

Right! I cannot imagine a scenario when I would stop taking either of my children’s calls knowing that they were in emotional pain – even if I were really angry at them for something. Unfathomable.

And to not congratulate them for their enormous successes once they did strike out on their own? Pure churlishness.

Charles is a horrible, horrible parent.

  11. swirlmamad says:

Ok, Charles. Keep working yourself into a snit over Harry while W+K actively continue to undermine you in the press.

    • Cecilia says:

I really want charles to start swinging back at w&k. Getting your henchmen out to say the monarchy should just skip your father and the crown should go directly to you is more disrespectful than anything meghan and harry have ever done. In medival times that was considered treason and would get you beheaded.

      • JT says:

Harry is clearly not the problem. Why should Charles be worried about him, especially if Harry “wasn’t apart of the slowdown plan”? His only focus should be on getting the Keens to carry their weight and figure out how to muzzle the Middletons. KP and Mama Midds are literally trying to kneecap his reign.

      • Lady D says:

“I really want charles to start swinging back at w&k.” Charles and William remind me of a pair of snakes eating themselves.

  12. Eurydice says:

Yikes, talk about Faustian bargain. Harry was so right that the royals are trapped – between the media and the “sources” selling them out to the media – it’s like being a super-pampered animal at the zoo.

  13. Tess says:

Call me crazy but I still feel like William is somehow involved in this too? Like it’s either something like Harry would have wanted his dad to reign in Will and he didn’t/doesn’t/refuses because they’re all “tHaTs nOt hOw tHiS wOrKs” with the idea that everyone is supposed to commit seppuku for the heirs no matter what, OR theres a situation where Will is in Charles’ ear and ego and Harry expected him to grow backbone instead of being the historically insecure afraid of losing the aura of power king-in-waiting he’s always been. Idk that’s just my speculation.

    • Betsy says:

Honestly this just sounds like more Willileaks, only this time getting his father involved. Charles is a dingus, but he listens to PR advice more than William does.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Agree. Charles is a dingus. This sounds more like Willyleaks, Carole or even Dan Wootton becoming a source for them (dude did just recently write about US media being more savage-maybe he’s trying to make it so). Towards the end of the Oprah interview Oprah asked Harry if Charles was taking his calls now. Harry said yea, yea he is. It starts around the 1 hour 45 minute mark. I might be inferring it incorrectly but it seemed Meghan implied Charles only knew what he was being told. Harry had previously said his relationship with Will is space. Didn’t sound like they were talking at all. Which says a lot. It seems those that want Will to skip over Charles are trying to garner support by pitting Charles & Harry against each other even more along with the bs Kate “peacemaker” & “rock” stories. My guess is Harry already knows what the plans are and is good with it. Often wonder if the writers of most of these articles have even watched the interview or just bank on people’s memories or dvr failing.

      • Betsy says:

@Agreatreckoning – yeah. From the few facts we have, we know that Harry and Charles don’t have a great relationship right now, but Charles isn’t super leaky. Charles wouldn’t shoot Harry and himself in the feet, and Charles’s plans always involved Harry (and then Meghan).

I think Charles is a small, emotionally constipated person but this? Sounds like 1) willileaks 2) a courtier 3) someone just made it up.

    • Eating Popcorn says:

I too feel this is all Willileaks and not Charles.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

@Betsy-Charles will never win a Father of the Year award (though if he publicly came out in support of everything H & M said and acknowledged how he & the Firm failed them-I would be inclined to change my mind maybe-big pipe dream though). He’s done a lot of things flat out wrong. But yeah, don’t think this is Charles doing, either made up story or it came from Nag & Nagaina’s side of the things.

  14. Sunshine says:

Just a reminder that Charles’ courtiers disclosed Harry’s family location to the media 2 times while simultaneously pulling their security and funding.
Thank goodness for Tyler Perry because god only knows what could have happened given all the hate the British media were pushing, included Trump and their right wing cronies.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

@Sunshine-Where did it come out that it was Charles’ courtiers that disclosed H & M’s location? The security and funding aspect is known. Will’s best boyfriend, Dan Wootton, released the announcement/plans to leave before it was suppose to be publicly announced. Location detail leakage more likely came from Will.

      • Becks1 says:

I dont know about Charles leaking it, but I remember that November/December, no one knew where the Sussexes were, there was some sort of reception for the press (or just a press conference, IDK) at KP and later that day or the next day Rebecca English had that they were in Canada. So I assumed at least that part of it came from the Cambridges. Not sure about what Charles leaked.

  15. Myra says:

You can’t really freeze out someone who is already ignoring you. Honestly, there’s just really nothing more that they can do to Harry that they haven’t already done. They can follow his moves in the news because he still outshines and outsells. He will be at an event with the US president next month. What’s Charles up to these days?

  16. Harla says:

After all the sh$t Charles has said his parents, it’s rather hypocritical of him to hold the same thing against his son. These people are so unaware it’s frightening to think that some day they’ll weld power.

    • Brittany says:

Right? Like Charles splashed his messy, contentious divorce on news headlines across the globe. He gave a major interview on the topic, he briefed news reporters, he authorized a biography. He knew it would damage the image of the monarchy, but he was too angry and arrogant (I guess) to care.

It is so hypocritical of him to be upset his son gave an interview. I’m guessing the real problem here is that Harry is not being a doormat.

    • Emily_C says:

The only person who matters to Charles is Charles.

  17. Stacy Dresden says:

Glad I don’t have a father like Charles. Poor Harry and Archie.

  18. Abena Asantewaa says:

They were expecting them to fail, and shunned by America. Also they would have been happy if H&M lived in a two up two down, and shop at Primark. Well The Montecito Royals, managed to buy a sprawling estate with beautiful parkland from their oe n pockets; that is what is eating the royals and the reporters up. Tough!

    • SarahCS says:

And I am loving every minute of it. They’ve pulled back the veil and ripped it down. If you have talent and opportunity you can make a success of things, they have exposed the monarchy for the sham it is.

I’ll just sit here and eat my popcorn while the cracks get deeper.

  19. equality says:

Another future leader of the Church of England showing his Christian principles. Charles is a big reader, he surely has read the Bible. He apparently didn’t absorb anything though if this is his PR and not some BM dream. Funny, I didn’t know you had to “deserve” being royal, I thought it was some type of birth lottery. If you have to “deserve” it by not bringing any embarrassment to the family, which of the royals would be left standing.

    • Carmen-JamRock says:

To be fair, the church of england is not about God and decency and morality and christianity. Consider its source.

  20. Savu says:

I would require a ruling here from (Ret.) Judge Kara Brown over at Shade Court. Because this is an egregious use of the term throwing shade. SHADE IS SNEAKY, PEOPLE.

  21. Tessa says:

A terrible father. He will IMO get Karma when his elder son wants to bypass Charles.

  22. Mich says:

Lol! Charles is such an awful idiot.

There seems to be big behind the scenes push to make his reign – the thing he has lived is entire life waiting for – a soft regency with William as the public face of the monarchy. William himself seems to be angling to be installed over Charles (with Carole firmly in his corner). The press is already full of William as future King and Charles is never mentioned. Reading the tea leaves, Charles needs Harry in his corner to add soft power to what is going to devolve into a very public fight over the throne but he is too stupid and entitled to understand that.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are about to be everywhere being happy doing awesome things. And they don’t need titles to do any of it or to be the most high profile power couple in the world.

    • Nina says:

Why is there this misconception that Carole somehow has an influence in effecting a change in ascension? She has no power. She has not even been invited to spend holidays with the BRF. Wishful thinking won’t make it so. She has as much power as a fly landing on PWT’s head.

      • Mich says:

The power Carole has is being able to convince William of things. That is a whole lot of power.

  23. Tessa says:

I know it will never happen. But I would be thrilled if Camilla dumped him and walked out on him.

  24. Tessa says:

William may get karma if George picks up his father’s disposition.

  25. Woke says:

I’m curious to know what they think they can take away from Harry at this point ? The titles ? They won’t dare do that.

    • BlueToile says:

I agree. There is no way they would take away the titles, in spite of how the RF and monarchists fantasize about it. Can you imagine the international pushback? The Commonwealth is already on shakey ground and such an action would finish it off. The RF needs the goodwill of the rest of the world to stay in their position. I know that the royal fans think they are the end-all-be-all that keeps the RF afloat, but they just aren’t.

  26. NCWoman says:

The funny part of this is that with the power moves that Harry and Meghan are making to cement global relevance for themselves and Archewell, Charles and the other royals will never matter the way they want to. They’re in much greater danger of slipping into obscurity than Harry and Meghan are. So we will continue to see increasingly bizarre attacks treading the same old ground as the royals try to ride the coattails of Harry and Meghan.

    • Robin says:

Yes. This is absolutely true. England is no longer at the heart of an empire; the Commonwealth is falling apart for good reason. The RF seems like a silly little family standing on a chunk of land in the ocean. I think it is dawning on Kate & William how left behind they are. They’ve got a few charities, they go and look miserable at little events, while H&M do good work on a world stage. It must be galling to realise the world has passed you by.

      • Merricat says:

        +1

      • LahdidahBaby says:

        Yes. Insightful post, Robin.

      • Emily_C says:

And they’ve got a big country. It’s no India, but it’s also no Luxembourg. Being relevant in Britain would still mean a lot of relevance — they don’t need the world. But they, and the Little Englanders who support them, cannot let go of “rule Brittania,” even if they weren’t even born during the days of British empire. It’s pretty pathetic.

  27. Sue Denim says:

Charles pulled their money and security when there were potentially most vulnerable, and they were vulnerable through actions taken against them by the family and the media without Charles stepping in. All of that, esp in context of Diana’s life and death… if I were Harry, I’d see William as challenging but maybe in context of “being trapped,” but I’d see Charles as far more dangerous.

  28. Gina says:

I have this feeling that Chuck is fuming.
Strangely so, I felt that way after I read Charles letter (message of support) about the situation in India posted by Omid on Twitter. Something in wording…
That was the day when the concert was announced and all the charitable actions in order to help people to get equal access to vaccines. When I read Charles message (it was personal) I thought that he could have mentioned this concert that aims to achieve the same goals in general. But it was completely as his youngest son doesn’t exist. I know, I by myself can write reasonable explanations why it was justified not to expect the mention of said concert in Charles message (Commonwealth country compared to global event, appeal for help to India, so on).
I can’t clearly explain my feelings, but for me Chuck’s anger just emanated from this message. I recall I’ve read this and thought: Charles is deadly angry at Harry.

  29. Amy Bee says:

Well according to the press, Harry was told that he was not part of the slimmed down monarchy and the queen and her heirs photoshoot was a message to Harry that he was out. I believe Harry was part of the slimmed down monarchy until he married Meghan. William wanted Harry and Meghan exiled. They were told that there was no money to support Meghan and that Archie would not become a prince when Charles became King. So Harry took the hints and left before the Royal Family decided to ditch him. The Palace took away their royal patronages as soon as they learned that Meghan was pregnant again and I believe they will be stripped of their titles when Charles becomes King.

    • Tessa says:

Charles if he does that would look like a fool especially if he lets Andrew keep all his titles.

      • Amy Bee says:

Charles has already proved that he’s a fool as hasn’t learned anything from what happened to Diana and has allowed history to repeat itself with Harry.

    • Robin says:

I’m going along with this a lot, but Andrew cannot be any part of a slimmed down monarchy. I always thought Charles would happily ditch him as soon as the Queen dies. I hope that’s how it goes.

    • Demi says:

I too felt that photo with Charles, William& Goerge was a turning point & there were no photos of Harry on the queen’s desk when she gave the Christmas message..Harry knew he& Archie have no future in the BRF so he wasn’t willing to wait till the queen dies and that becomes a reality he wanted to jump ship quickly so he can build a new future for him& his family..

  30. Watson says:

Charles is parenting the way he was taught by his own parents. Cold, distant and unyielding. Glad Harry is breaking the cycle crappy parenting with his own family.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

      Amen.

    • Dee Kay says:

Diana already broke that cycle (I also think *she* was crappily parented so she defied the trend of horrid parenting on both the Windsor and the Spencer side). Harry just chose to follow his mother’s example when he became a father and that’s all to the good for his child (soon to be children!).

  31. Maria says:

These stories are why I can’t stand the PR spin that Charles is a great father.

    • Tessa says:

I never bought into that. He had all these photo ops as the Great Dad for less than a year after Diana died, then the Camilla campaign resumed and most of his attention was on that and he promoted headlines like “Diana’s Sons accept Camilla.” This was when Will Started the Club H at Highgrove while his dad was away.

  32. Amelia says:

I doubt the royal family will last long. One the Queen’s gone they’re finished. Most people here in Britain don’t really give two sh*ts about the royals. Not even the so called “younger more modern royals”. So glad Meghan and Harry got out on their own terms before this happens because at some point it will especially with the attitude Charles and William are currently using

    • JanetDR says:

I used to think that Charles should get his turn, regardless of his horrible behavior to Diana, but now? He should be king just long enough for the whole system to be dismantled. At least before William gets a chance to be a mad king!

  33. India says:

This family is the meanest I have ever seen. And Bully Boy Willy is some kind of bad. Thank God Harry took his family and got the hell away from them.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

I realize this may sound crazy to some, but from the earliest pics of Will as a young child, I saw petulance and a poisonous character. For me, it was all over his face. And although as the years have gone by he seems to have learned to hide his ugly side, I will never believe he has transformed himself into a benign person.

  34. HeatherC says:

Freeze out of what? He was stripped of his patronages and honorary military titles/ranks. He isn’t funded in any way by Charles. He lives on a whole different continent.

Perhaps the Sussexes won’t be getting a basket of Duchy Original jams for Christmas?

    • Macces says:

@HeatherC Harry lives on a property in an area with a Mediterranean climate. It used to be part of an old rancho way back in time. He has citrus trees on the property, lemons and oranges. He is known to have a garden. If he wanted, he could grow stuff England mostly has to import or grow in a hothouse: passionfruit, avocados, peaches, kiwis, and shit, even pineapples and banana trees for the more advanced gardener show up in coastal SoCal.

He would probably tell them “I can make my own f-ing jam.”

I would point out that the Windsor tribe doesn’t behave like a functional family and does not separate being royal from being family. And we see the result every day.

  35. Sofia says:

Again, how can you “freeze out” someone who no longer works for the family nor takes any money from you or the taxpayers?

  36. Curious says:

how are these royals allowed to to back charities or lead charities about mental health .? plus Catherine 5 questions thingy to help children at an early age so they don’t end up in a bad place later in life.. right now none of them are mentally healthy to do these Charities. look what they are doing now.slandering Harry and Meghan, even poking at little Archie. Charles is suppose to be the head of church , how can he enter a church with such a sick mentality against his own son and daughter in law and son? William/Charles/ Catherine should not be preaching about mental health to anyone. they need to clean their hearts and soul first . they should just stop the press from writing such things about Harry/Meghan. Meghan is also pregnant with her 2nd baby.and her father in law and brother in law and sister in law, don’t care at all what happens to her. they are trying to light a fire storm at Meghan. the most sad thing is the Queen is saying nothing. she is silent, watching it happen.

  37. Rapunzel says:

    “Fuming” “Incandescent with rage”
The FK and FFK need anger management classes.

  38. Gina says:

It seems that the Queen is the only one who treats Sussexes as part of the family. Interesting how much real power does she have now? I think, very little if at all.
I couldn’t explain why Meghan is so fond of the Queen when a lot of horrible things were done to Sussexes in her (HM) name. I thought it was because of HM’s age that commands some respect. Now I think that Harry and Meghan just know how little power and influence the Queen has in current situation. Pure speculation, of course.

    • Curious says:

I find it strange that on one hand the queen is friendly with Harry/Meghan/Archie.and on the other hand she is allowing William and Charles do as they want with them .I am sure the queen is briefed on what Charles is doing by Charles himself. Maybe Harry/Meghan are excusing her cause of her age.or maybe she is at an early stage dementia,so they will never ever speak a bad word about the queen.even if they see the whole pic and the queen is involved in backing Charles plan.. Charles have been taking over the queen role for yrs now, sometime i think the Queen is in name only.Charles have already taken over,he is just waiting to be crown king.

    • Tessa says:

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the Queen’s mind. She always behaved that way, she ostriched and ignored problems until they got out of control. She did the same thing when she was a lot younger and Margaret wanted to marry Townsend. She also did the same regarding Charles and Diana’s marriage.

  39. Izzy says:

So Charles is going to take a cue from Toxic Tom Markle. Got it.

Good grief, when are those crisis PR specialists supposed to start? Because honestly, it can’t happen soon enough, and if they’ve already started, then it’s clear the RF are still not listening to the better advisors.

  40. CrazyHeCallsMe says:

US Weekly is writing stuff that anyone with eyes can see. That tabloid has no “inside sources.”

  41. MCG says:

These people keep telling on themselves- YIKES. I truly think that Chaz is running the whole damn show over there. If you’re a Brit, is that a big thing that your HoS is leading in name only?! The whole Rememberance Day Wreath debacle was definitely the machinations of Chuck. Despicable.

  42. NotSoSimpleTaylor says:

Harry’s feud has always been with Charles and it’s been that way since Harry was 15. For a long time, I believed whatever the upset between Harry and William was, that it had to do with William becoming too much like their father or siding with their father on something. It used to be William and Harry against Charles but somewhere along the way, William changed sides. My best guess is that Lacey is right and what started Harry and William drifting apart was the Nazi uniform scandal followed by Harry taking to the military so well and finding purpose and happiness there. Charles used that time in the military to strengthen his relationship with William.

We know all parties went out of their way to avoid one another for many years which was the uneasy peace brokered. For Harry, that deal never seemed to stop. I can’t imagine even in a reconciliation that there would be any other substantive changes in their relationship other than what worked in 2005 and Harry still lives in America. It seems to have always been like this: cold, distant and practically non-existent. Nothing has truly changed except Harry spoke out.

    • Emily_C says:

Golden child and scapegoat. As usual, it’s the scapegoat who manages to escape.

      • Lady D says:

Honest question, does the golden child want to escape that situation? Can golden children become aware of what’s going on and want to change it, or is life just wonderful for them?

  43. Lowrider says:

Charles is an awful man. I can admit I bought into some of the re-image PR after Diana’s death and his work with The Princes Trust. But he truly is just an awful, deeply insecure, childish person.

    • Nyro says:

He’s awful. He gets a pass because unlike his mother and almost all the other royals before or after him, he actually does impactful work. If Amy of this stuff is even halfway true he’s a terrible father.

    • Lady D says:

Hey, I bought into his image too. He fooled me, the queen fooled me, W & K fooled me, they even managed to fool me about ‘dim’ Harry. The RF however, is doing a bang up job of letting the whole world know just what kind of racist filth they really are. Damn wasn’t Meghan a catalyst for change? She’s like the tiny drop that destroys the calm of a pond, only in this case the tiny drop created a whirlpool.

  44. Nyro says:

You know, I don’t want to hear a word from any of these people on Archive’s birthday. They clearly don’t give a damn about him, his parents, and his unborn baby sister, so they should keep that same energy with the birthday congrats. And if the do try to save face and wish happy birthday to a toddler they clearly don’t care about, I hope HM would go full Kim Cattral and call them out on it like she did SJP when her brother was found dead.

  45. gm says:

My problem is I don’t believe ANYONE “deserves the privilege of being a royal.”
It is so weird and archaic.
Not to be based on merit.

  46. Merricat says:

This story from U.S. Weekly was conjured from photo assumption. I think Charles is capable of some self-awareness, despite the mistakes he’s repeated, and I think he went to Wales on a symbolic journey as a Prince, with the intention of returning as a more-or-less King. This does not necessarily make him a better father, but it might–the death of a parent, especially one as long-lived as Phillip, naturally brings up issues from childhood that extend into parenthood. I hope he used the time alone well.

  47. Coji says:

The decision to disassociate with family, particularly a parent, is generally painful and seldom done without damned good reasons. People often judge you very harshly for the decision but sometimes it’s the only way to make your life sane. The RF seems oblivious that they are showing the entire world that Harry was justified.

  48. JP says:

Are these the actions the future Head of the Church should take? I’m not sure who will bring down the monarchy faster, Charles or Andrew- but I think it’s clear there’s a slim chance William will get his reign.

  49. Thaisajs says:

What a terrible thing to do to a child. I don’t care who you are or how old the child is. Unless your child was a serial killer, how do you give up on them so completely?

This family has some truly terrible people in it.

  50. Flying Fish says:

Charles knows he is not liked by the public for what he did to Diana and now we know for what he has done to Harry.
Charles’s reign, if he will ever reign, will be ignored or by then, the monarchy will be abolished.

  51. Curious says:

I get confuse with all this cutting out Harry/Meghan.. Harry/Meghan was working Royals. they gave up that position over a year ago. now, what is Charles talking about? i understand as none working Royals ,Harry /Meghan will not receive any money from him ,but that already happened a year ago. to freeze out Harry how? is he taking this into their private family life?,like Harry will not receive any inheritance from him ? is he cutting all ties with his son Harry? is Charles really saying he will never see Harry/Meghan and his grandchildren ever again?

  52. jwoolman says:

If true, just another indication of how deep the dysfunction in the family goes. Imagine “freezing out” your son for simply leaving the family business and protecting his wife and child. Every interaction with his family must strengthen Harry’s resolve to stay far far away from them. They know how to contact him if they want to really talk.

    • Cessily says:

I think the Royal courts and aristocratic society still hold on to the philosophy that being “cut from” or “frozen out” from high society Is the worst punishment ever. They will never get it, they do not want to venture out of their lifestyle.. while the queen has had a long rule and lifespan that has not been the same for past rulers. Maybe they all should let go of all that righteous anger in the House of Windsor ( Saxe-Coburg-Gotha). It can’t be good for the geriatric members especially.

  53. Liz version 700 says:

Oh Charles, Karma she is a witch and she has had your address for a while. This is so petty and spiteful and also impotent. Harry iced you out a year ago when you hung his family out to dry. He didn’t damage the Royal family you did by disrespecting the 19 year-old you married and doing everything possible to destroy your own child so you could browbeat him into leaving his black wife and his children. YOU are a petulant man-child and your heir is an incandescent baby. The one asset you had left to save his family from your insanity. You are destined to be the King who watches it all start to fall apart and it could Not have happened to a lesser more pathetic man

  54. aquarius64 says:

The House of Windsor is still stuck on stupid I see. Archie’s birthday is next week but I guess Charles wants to take the mantle of Bad Grandpa away from Toxic Tom.

  55. Alexandria says:

OMG PLS GO AHEAD CHARLES! Why are you still talking? Pls go to Parliament and request to strip them of their titles. Then you deal with it yourself. Go ahead please. Will you shut up after that???!! Stupid King. Pleaseeeeeeee just take the crown and sit in your corner. Happy? Then shutttttt upppp!

I don’t care if you strip them because my support for Harry and Meghan will not change. I’ve stopped using Sussex and I’ve stopped using Prince.

  56. Virginia says:

“After the damage Harry has caused” this really gets to my nerves! What about the damage THEY caused to Harry and their family! What about the damage the spineless Chuck caused to Diana, ok the RF says let’s toss that under the rug, concentrate on Meghan is not white and neither Archie!

    • Tessa says:

Harry did nothing wrong. He protects his family. His father just rejected his mother after she had the children, heir and spare.

  57. Curious says:

all i wish is for charles/william to GO head to head with the resign royals Harry and Meghan.. wiliam and catherine, and charles don’t stand a chance.. knowing meghan is biracial your life will not be worth shit the way you abuse her .Meghan and harry are taking themselves away from the royal family. and i bet you them being on their own will ALWAYS be more popular than you. they will make mince meat out of you .go ahead be a king. and you/william still will be worthless to the world. cause you all do nothing. no action for people in need. all you and the action to your words, is about who dress better, and what pearls William slow wife is wearing that day ..

  58. Mcmmom says:

This makes me so sad for Harry. I haven’t spoken to my own father for nearly a year because I finally realized that he’s a narcissist and his toxicity started to impact not just me but also my kids. I know he’s not healthy and I know that distance from him is what I need for my own sanity, but it’s still disappointing and sad. There is nothing gleeful about realizing your family hasn’t ever had your back.

  59. Anne says:

When a child becomes age 25 and up parents want and encourage her or him to find a place of their own. The ONLY exception is the British royal family who absolutely must control ALL their family members. Prince Harry always had plans to leave his family prior to meeting Meghan. He could NOT tolerate the stuffy, suffocating atmosphere. Harry is free spirit just like his mum, Princess Diana. Other parents would encourage and applaud their adult child for striking out on her or his own. Oh no, NOT the Brit royal family! Any of their family members who do so must be punished straightaway! This is what Prince Harry and his wife Megan, Duchess of Sussex are experiencing. Has anyone seen the work ethics of Meghan and Kate? The difference is VAST! Meghan’s work ethic is continuous whereas “Waity Katie’s” is pathetic. Meghan’s work ethic does NOT contain any breaks whereas, “Waity Katie’s” does NOT contain much work. There was an article in a British newspaper stating that both William and Kate are lazy which they both acknowledged. William admitted he only wanted to work 20 hours weekly as a rescue pilot. We already know about Kate.
When Princess Madeleine and her British (born in the. UK) relocated to Florida the Swedish royal family did NOT become punitive. They completely understood. Here is a link about that:
    https://www.vogue.com/article/princess-madeleine-of-sweden-is-moving-to-america
Other nations’ royalty and aristocratic families consider the Mountbatten-Windsors low class. That’s understandable considering the 35-year illicit affair of the “Gruesome Twosome” and the paedophile Prince Andrew. When Charley and Mrs. “WhorseZilla Porker-Bowels”(TM) married 15 years ago all the other royal families were invited to their wedding but ALL declined.
    W
Catherine and her mum played William like a fiddle. Kate was already accepted by the Uni of Edinburgh but did NOT say yet if he was planning on attending. Then mum and daughter heard William was going to attend the latter uni, Catherine then applied to the Uni of St. Andrew where she was accepted, and she informed them she would matriculate there. She did tell the Uni of Edinburgh she decided NOT to attend there. Carole and Kate’s plan was successful. Kate met William, eventually moved to a house they shared with others. Kate attended as a model in a fashion show. She dressed in a see-through nightie but her top and bottom were covered. When William saw Kate, he said “Kate is hot”. He was smitten and Kate’s plan to snag William was successful.
Kate and William were just friends. Soon a romance began to bloom. They moved into a place of their own. The rest is history. Does William realise he was played like a violin by Kate and her mum? William is NOT a bright spark.
