Duchess Kate wore a red McQueen dress for a Cornwall event with Dr. Jill Biden

This was always the plan – Queen Elizabeth would send her keenest, most button-covered lynchpin soft-diplomats to greet world leaders in Cornwall for the G7 Summit. That means the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are all in Cornwall. This evening, Prince Charles will host a reception for world leaders, and there’s something called the Eden Project banquet, with a focus on the climate emergency.

The announcement came yesterday that Kate would be sent out on a one-on-one event with Dr. Jill Biden. Keep in mind, while Kate and William technically did events around Donald Trump’s state visit in 2019, the Cambridges took pains to avoid being photographed with both Donald and Melania Trump. Now with the Bidens’ visit, Kate immediately gets sent out with Dr. Jill? There’s a point to it and the point is… still kind of murky. In any case, the details of Kate and Dr. Jill’s event were embargoed, and I don’t really understand why? All they did was visit a local school and talk about “early childhood education.” I can only imagine what Keen Buttons thought of Dr. Biden’s years of higher education and decades spent working with kids and young adults. Kate was probably like “well I did a five question survey!!”

Dr. Jill wore a pink Lagence blazer which ended up coordinating with Kate’s Alexander McQueen dress. Kate’s McQueen just looks like a red version of a dress I know she has in green. It’s pricey too – this retails for £1,125. Lynchpin Buttons hasn’t done a stitch of work since getting her vaccine two weeks ago, and then she turns up at the G7 Summit with a fresh blow-out and a new McQueen? They really do have to bribe her to work, don’t they.

Update: There are lots of videos from Kate and the First Lady’s event, but this one is where Kate is asked about her “new niece” Lilibet Diana. The question was asked by NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell, and you can tell that Kate was not expecting questions from impertinent Americans. She lied with ease though.

Those shoulders… the proportions are off somehow. That’s all I got at the moment.

    • Asking for a friend says:

Same – it’s giving me major Lurch vibes.

      • Christine says:

Same, and if Kate had even one competent person in her circle, she would have recognized that she should have been carrying the carrots, to make her more relatable (I cannot believe I just typed that sentence). Dr. Jill Biden is ALWAYS relatable, she is a fully formed, smart, and an all around amazing woman, so of course she did.

Kate can’t even carry carrots. FFS, I am an accountant, and I recognize that no one in Kate’s sphere is aware of how completely she has formed herself into something more appropriate for Madame Tussauds, than being human.

    • TheOtherOne says:

I agree. I couldn’t stop staring. I’m like “wow she lost a lot more weight” or “it is those shoulder pads.” Or both. Something is off with those pointy shoulder pads.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

The belt area too when she walks you see fabric bunching instead of a skin or fat smoothing out the fabric. That dress is that loose on her. She’s thinner underneath.
And Dr. Jill is not a large woman yet she looks i next to her.

      • Chaine says:

@Wiglet ITA, Dr. Biden is teensy thin but somehow she looks dumpy next to Kate! And is Kate a giant? Did not realize before she was so towering.

      • SarahCS says:

Her build does not work with those shoulders. Plus she’s standing next to a normal human being which always makes her look a bit strange if she’s not bundled up in coats.

      • Amy Too says:

Same. It looks like her shoulders are up by her ears which made me think of what Harry said about his and Meghan’s shoulders have dropped noticeably since moving.

And seeing her next to the normal sized Dr. Biden, makes her look sooooo skinny. Jill Biden is not a wide woman but Kate looks to be half her width.

      • minx says:

Kate’s dress looks cheap, like it came from Dress Barn. And I’ve given up complaining about her bad posture. She doesn’t seem to understand that you can diet yourself into oblivion, spend lavishly on clothes, and you’ll still look like sh*t if you don’t stand up straight. Jill looks fabulous as always, love our First Lady.

      • LilacMaven says:

@Chaine I believe Kate is about 5ft 9in and usually wears pretty tall heels. Being so svelte makes her appear even taller, too.

        Dr. Biden is around 5ft 5in-5ft 6in.

      • Seaflower says:

K’s posture looks terrible in that dress. Not sure if its the dress or K, but she looks hunched in the shoulders…

    • GrnieWnie says:

yeah….her body is soooo long (my body is too, we have a very similar build lest people think I’m pointing fingers!). The urge is to go with tailored fits, because you can, but they don’t actually look best. Bring the waist up and try to emphasize the hips, not the shoulders — this would look better, I think.

      • Q says:

Her body is not long, her torso is.
She needs special tailoring to accommodate her longer torso, wide shoulders and narrow hips/shorter legs.
She may be tall but she does not have the proportions of a model hence she can’t pull off just any clothes without tailoring it to her body which is more that of a male swimmers. V

    • Watson says:

I actually love the design of Kate’s outfit. The issue is the shoulder pads look massive because Kate’s body is whippet thin and her posture when walking is poor so her shoulders look scrunched up to her ears. Excellent dress though. Probably looks better in photos when standing still.

Jill is always the ultimate professional. She just strikes me as great with people, young or old.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I think Kate’s build is naturally narrow hips and wider shoulders.

    • Aang says:

First thing I noticed was the shoulder pads. I hated them in the 80’s and I hate them now. But she’s event appropriate and I tell myself that is all that matters.

      • dj says:

Aang I could not agree more. I laughed out loud when I read your post as it what my first thought as well!

      • observer says:

i noticed them too. i wasn’t BORN in the 80s but i love how ugly everything 80s is. i hate the shoulder pads look so much– i wish they would come back. i have no idea why i have always had this desire for modern fashion to richochet back into full-on 80s ugliness. like i want other people to look that bad but think they look good, but i also have a nostalgia for the idea of an era (not the era itself) evoked by that specific kind of ugliness

speaking of looking good, dr jill herself always does but wow this outfit. it’s absolutely terrible.

    • LadyMTL says:

I think the big shoulderpads are what’s throwing it off. When I look at her from the waist up I think she looks fine (I like the color, even) but in the full-length shots the proportions are definitely off. She has a petite frame and the pads make it all very top-heavy / wide.

      • Becks1 says:

I think it’s a combination of the shoulder pads and posture. The dress itself is nice, work appropriate, etc – but something throws it off and I think that’s what it is.

      • Mac says:

The posture problem is from overworking her abs without offsetting it with back and shoulders training. You have to work your core evenly.

      • observer says:

got any workout tips for back and shoulders, mac?

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        Observer
Imo the best tip for proper posture has always been to imagine you’re wearing a cape and crown. You instinctively throw your shoulders back and keep your chin parallel with the ground.

    • Sofia says:

I agree. It’s a nice dress and it looks good on Kate yet it still looks a little off to me. Like it wasn’t properly tailored or something

    • Traci says:

The dress is wrinkled to hell too.

    • Becks1 says:

Also I am laughing bc Kaiser is completely right, they do have to bribe her with new dresses for her to work lol. How many new outfits/dresses/coats have we seen in the past year alone?

      • keroppi says:

        Where do they all go???

      • Lady D says:

I’m beginning to think no one cares what she spends on clothes/hair/jewelry. The bill arrives, the comptroller shrugs, and tosses it into the appropriate pile. I wonder if that’s true, and if H&M were aware of it?

      • Babz says:

@keroppi, maybe they took over Apartment 1A next door at KP, and now it’s one huge closet/storage unit!

      • Becks1 says:

@LadyD I think that’s probably true and I think that was part of the issue for H&M. They wanted Meghan to keep working because they couldn’t afford her, but Kate spends whatever the hell she wants. It’s also speculated throughout twitter that Meghan was still paying for all her own clothes as a working royal, which is gross if true.

    • Kelsey says:

And it doesn’t help that she slouches so hard. Her posture/form would look so much better if she straightened that back out. She’s too tall to be doing that smh.

      • Nic919 says:

I also think she can’t walk in the stilettos she is wearing which explains part of the hunching. What’s the point of trying to be so tall if you aren’t going to walk with pride with your height.

      • Q says:

I’ve noticed she can’t walk in heels, too. She sort of sways her whole body from side to side like she’s walking on stilts.

      • Ronaldinho says:

Righto – I’m going to say something noone is going to enjoy
As you know I work in trauma – but as such work alongside of specialists who deal with trauma turned inward.
My colleagues today said they wondered why noone was talking about the obvious eating issue the Duchess has.
Disclaimer – I am a thin woman, I eat few carbs and spin. Today was the first time I would have considered this commentary, even though it came from a specialist

      • Raya says:

Is she obligated to wear heels?she is already super tall but she always wear 10 cm heels, even pregnant

      • observer says:

as an eating disordered person myself, i thought what ronaldinho said was always obvious for years now and therefore not controversial at all, but perhaps that’s because i scan all other women for eating disorder signs pretty automatically (i can’t help it after ~20+ yrs of eating disorder)

if the controversy is no one commenting on it, well, the british media is toxic and will praise eating disordered women all day for being thin, especially kate. and here on CB i have seen people express concern over kate’s weight in many posts about her, so i do think we have commented on it…just that the mainstream media won’t. the american media might– if they cared about kate

    • keroppi says:

Same. I was just going to comment on it. It makes her look even thinner than she typically looks and not in a good way.

    • PrincessK says:

Both women are wearing shoulder pads. Kate’s look fine except that her waist is unbelievably tiny, thereby making her shoulders look too big. Completely out of proportion, she is getting thinner and thinner, everyone is commenting on her weight.

    • Victoria says:

      She looks a hot mess.

    • Jules says:

Kate has very narrow hips—straight all the way down from her waist. It makes her look thinner and out of proportion unless she’s standing sideways or wearing a peplum top or a-line skirt or something with a lot of darts at the waist to give a fuller look.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

The dress would be SO much better on Kate without those damned shoulder pads, which add inches to her vertical shoulder-to-waist measure, causing her to look freakishly long in the torso. Well, she IS terribly long torsoed, but the elevated shoulders really exaggerate it to a jaw-dropping point

      • North of Boston says:

It also makes her look super tense, as though her shoulders are right below her ears. Add that to her naturally long torso and it just makes everything seem out of whack. This is the wrong dress, tailored badly, for her.

And I disagree with the color of Kate’s dress blending with Dr Biden’s outfit. How I see it is unless you’re a tulip patch, bright red and bright pink do not blend … especially if you throw white into the mix. (you can almost get away with a red, pink, magenta, orange mix of colors, but white heightens the contrast and the clash with mix of the others.)

  2. LightPurple says:

I watched ABC airing their time at the school live. Dr. First Lady was having a great time talking to all the kids and asking them to explain what they were working on. Truly in her element as a teacher.

    • Gail says:

Thanks LightPurple for moving from what Kate wore to what the lovely Dr.1stLady was doing. did Kate interact w/the children also or was she watching from the sidelines? Not sure of royal protocol.

  3. Laughysaphy says:

I don’t like the top of Kate’s dress, but I think it’s at least appropriate. That’s all I got. Dr. Biden looks great, as usual.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Dr. Biden always looks great!! She was present when they announced the Teacher of The Year Award, and out came Dr. Biden, looking smart and classy as usual, with an enormous bouquet of flowers for the winner in Arizona, I think, but she was crying that Dr. Biden presented her with the award!! Dr. Biden is a teacher at heart and Joe knows how lucky her is when they married!!

      As for Keem, ehh….

  4. Amy Bee says:

I’ve been watching the videos and my first question is, is there a woman who can’t outshine Kate? Jill made Kate look and sound like a lightweight and it just shows why Meghan was a problem for the Cambridges and the Palace.

    • Cecilia says:

I haven’t watched any of the videos so im basing my judgement solely on the pics displayed here. But to me kate looks a bit intimidated and maybe nervous? Or maybe she’s just hunched down because FLOTUS is shorter than she is. Anyway, no maniac grin and hysterical laugh. Which is what i expectedly

    • Sid says:

Her lack of work experience always shines through and she (along with her husband) always comes across as the odd one out in these sort of gatherings. Put her in a room with Letizia, Maxima, Daniel, and Mary, and you’ll see the lack of professionalism.

      • Cecilia says:

See the difference with the women you just mentioned is that they all had a career before they married their husbands. At least they have some sort of experience with professionalism and diplomacy, even if its just in the workplace.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

I ill never forget the time Keen Buttons blanked the King of Spain who u cant miss as he is soo tall and handsome. It was at a D day event and he was standing nearer her and she just sat there looking around her.

      • Becks1 says:

I wonder how different Kate would be as a working royal if she had actually worked in her 20s – like held down a regular 9-5 job for a few years. i know the story was that she had to be “available” for William but maybe it would have been better for their relationship if she wasn’t always available, and maybe it would have been better for her if she had an identity outside of her relationship with william.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

DU, which royal did they diss at the Olympics in 2012? I know they were seated next to one, and they didn’t even acknowledge him.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

@Jan. I think it was Prince Daniel of Sweden.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

        Thank you! 😊

      • Nic919 says:

She was also rude to Queen Leticia at an event and basically ignored her until she had to speak to her. Considering Kate is below rank to an actual consort to a monarch, it was a huge protocol mistake. I also think Letizia isn’t the type to forget that kind of bs, especially when will and Kate were jerks to her husband at that D day event. This is a man who calls the Queen Aunt Lilibet so he’s a close family member.

      • L84Tea says:

@Nic919, I remember very vividly the state dinner with Felipe and Letizia and how visibly frosty Kate was. It was the dinner where Kate wore that odd mauvey pink lace getup and Letizia was like a dazzling firecracker in a red gown. Kate came off, in my opinion, as completely intimidated by Letizia and clearly wanted to stay as far away from her as possible. You can always tell when Kate is feeling insecure–her college age mean girl personality comes out. She really is awful in her role as a royal.

      • notasugarhere says:

Kate was trying to have a big moment, in the pale pink very low cut Marie Antoinette cosplay that night. Showing off the loan of another necklace from AK47. Letizia showed up in an exquisite off-the-shoulder beaded red gown and blew everyone out of the water. Kate was left fuming behind a floral arrangement, out of sight and out of mind.

    • ArizonaRose says:

I have thought for a long time now that Kate Middleton consciously tries to underwhelm. Remember how Diana outshone Charles and it became a major point of contention in their marriage? I think William purposely picked someone who WANTS to be 2nd fiddle. And the reason Kate doesn’t do many appearances is because she knows that if she get more press and accolades than Will or Charles, then she might be out of a job, out of the firm and out of her marriage.

(Not that she has much charisma to start with, she was never going to be Diana.)

I love that Harry is proud of Meghan’s hard work, charisma and bringing attention to causes. You can tell it’s a partnership. Not a contest.

      • Lyds says:

I get what you’re saying, but a broken lightbulb can outshine William. Throughout their dating years Kate had no problem being in the limelight, especially when they were on “breaks” and she was eager to show William what he was “missing.” This role was largely mute and involved getting papped coming out of nightclubs so it suited her fine.

Kate’s real problem is her lack of authenticity and her inability to do extemporaneous speeches or truly connect with people in any way. She cannot successfully mingle with other royals and she cannot maintain/make a high profile friend to save her life. And yet she cannot truly emphasize with other “commoners” because it’s a class she was desperate to escape. In terms of world leaders and professionals, she knows that intellectually and socially, she is not on equal footing with them, so it gets passed off as “shyness” and being humble and demure. Her lack of savvy with public figures gets disguised as not being glamorous or fame-seeking. They can twist her into anything rather than acknowledge that she is a less than competent adult who is awful at her job.

I remember the report that the Cambridges lost quite a number of London staff (who were anticipating great parties) because Will and Kate barely entertained. I can see William wanting to party alone while Kate, mindful that social events are where people meet and mingle, would want to minimize William’s exposure to any competition.

      • Gail says:

You spoke my thoughts more coherently than I could form. Thank you. 100% clearly described what’s seems to be going on. You hit it with she cannot get more accolades than Will or Charles. So agree.
Tho a tiny bit of self confidence and self esteem (which no one can give, it comes from the doing) would benefit her. I’ve lost hope she might actually do something; she strikes me as consistently being paralyzed with fear of making mistakes, which then becomes the mistake. A trap, in fact. Just like Harry said.
“I love that Harry is proud of Meghan’s hard work, charisma and bringing attention to causes. You can tell it’s a partnership. Not a contest.” is also a loving, observant statement w/which I’m 100% w/you. Thanks again *chef’s kiss*

      • North of Boston says:

“I love that Harry is proud of Meghan’s hard work, charisma and bringing attention to causes. You can tell it’s a partnership. Not a contest.”

This so much seems to be the case. They magnify each other, bring out the best in one another and as such don’t seem to resent when one or the other shines. That’s the case in a partnership… because your partner doing well, shining feels like a reflection on you, or at least on what you’d want for them … when them succeeding makes them happy, which makes you super happy.

It really seems like Meghan has brought out the *best* in Harry, helped him become the man he always had the potential to be, and to strive to be someone even more amazing than he ever thought he could, and that he’s doing the same for her.

Imagine what the Cambridges would be capable of if THAT’S what they strived to bring out in each other, instead of aiming for maximum workshy embiggening. It’s sad to think of what influences went on in both their lives that have caused them to aim to be less than or inauthentic / fearful / jealous of what others are capable of. And shameful to think that with all their privilege and the time on their hands, they aren’t willing or able to realize that and try to rise above it.

  5. L84Tea says:

Yikes, those shoulder pads! Get the girl a spot playing for the New York Jets.

  6. Cecilia says:

I see that kate opted for something more modern but those shoulders are doing her no favors. Make her hips look even more slim.

  7. Amelie says:

Well Jill looks great as usual. Strutting around in her hot pink blazer and white dress and fun long dangly necklaces. Very summery and fun. A color combo you know Kate would never wear. What is she carrying in that bowl? Are those mini baguettes? Or some kind of vegetable? I can’t tell.

Kate’s dress is fine I guess. It really does look like that green dress she owns with the ties in the front but I can’t remember if that dress is Alexancer McQueen or not. But the one thing that looks odd is the way the shoulders are tailored. They look super pointy and sharp? I can’t explain it, but it just stands out.

  8. goofpuff says:

I wonder if the details are embargoed so they can continue to use it for weeks to fill in the voids in between the keens doing any work.

I really hate the shoulder pads on Kate’s dress. It makes what would have looked good on her, look really awful. It really doesn’t look good on her body shape unless she is going for the hunched over very long torso look. Her hair worn long just amplifies the effect.

  9. Liz version 700 says:

Jill is leagues away from the Queen’s Keenest Crown Jewel. But these pics really emphasize Kate’s weight loss. Dr Biden is a fit and trim lady and Kate looks waif-like next to her. I am no Kate fan, is anyone making sure she is OK?

    • Watson says:

Doubtful. Her family needs her to be the FFQ to bail out their failing business and she has no friends. Considering the emotional constipation of William and the machinations of the men in grey i don’t think anyone gives a crap if she whittled her whole body away. It’s really sad.

    • NiqGee says:

Her weight is very concerning. If the camera adds 10lbs, how slender is she really?

    • Nic919 says:

There is video footage of them walking to the gate with the carrots and she looks so frail that she might fall over. So there is no photoshop going on with those photos.

    • PrincessK says:

She is really thin. I have seen pictures of her back with her shoulder blades poking through, something is wrong l think.

    • February-Pisces says:

I’ve seen a few celebs in real life (no one special) who look normal/slim on tv, but in person look absolutely tiny and skinny as hell. If kate looks this thin here, then I can’t imagine how skinny she must be in person. I think she’s even thinner than Victoria beckham was at her skinniest. The press wouldn’t shut up about how skinny Victoria was, but no one ever mentions it with Kate. I do wonder if anyone is watching out for her?

      • PrincessK says:

Yes, something is going on. During the interview Meghan sounded rather concerned about her, as if she was being manipulated by the Palace machine. Meghan said that Kate was basically a good person. My interpretation is that Kate is suffering in her marriage with William.

      • Nic919 says:

I agree that Meghan was generous to Kate because there Is something going on. Too bad she was silent when Meghan needed help.

    • LetsGetReal says:

      Is it concern or anticipation?

We just saw her getting a shot and her arms were toned and not emaciated – same with her legs in Scotland.

Old girl could use some calories for sure, but let’s not pretend we are concerned for her health. As Nic said, too bad she was silent when Meghan needed help.

    • North of Boston says:

What’s strange is that pictures after Scotland, maybe at her vaccination, Kate looked thin but not unhealthy. And now these just make her look thinner. I’m hoping it is just super bad tailoring, and that slim, long torsoed, but athletic Kate is under that horrible dress somewhere.

I really don’t understand the support systems of the Royal Family. For all their history and influence and wealth, they seem to not get the best and brightest to work for them as stylists, tailors, communications staff, PR.

Seeing Kate, I’m thinking that the off the rack dress I wore when I was 15 … for the “fashion show” I was in at the end of the “charm school” I went to … held at the local Sears-Roebuck store (a “fashion show” which BTW took place in a big conference room tucked behind the little room by the back of the parking lot where people could come to pick up their catalogue orders) at the mall in my mid-size town in New England in the 80’s wasn’t a better fit for my body, and tailored more to my body, than this dress chosen specifically for a high profile, public, photographed for the world to see event for the FFQ who in theory has the best fashion, stylist, shopping resources available and all the time and money in the world to select a color, fabric, cut, have it fitted, tailored, accessorized, etc. and for whom at least, let’s say, a third of her value to the Queen, Crown and Commonwealth is her ability to turn out nicely at public events.

      I just don’t get it.

  10. Amelia says:

Today is the day of Keeness overload.
It’s funny to see the parallel between a woman with a successful career and is working extra against a woman who tries to avoid working as much as possible.

    • PrincessK says:

I was wondering why Kate had to tag along Dr Biden could cope very well on her on visiting a school, Michelle Obama did.

  11. Beach Dreams says:

Aww, she and Carrie Antoinette are twinning. Well, minus those awful shoulder pads and Kate’s terrible posture.

    • Nic919 says:

Carrie looked better in her red dress. Mostly because she’s fit but not scary thin.

  12. Layla says:

Did anyone see when Kate was asked about Lili Diana?

    • Persephone says:

Did that really happen? I would love to have heard it!

    • Rice says:

Yep. That is the airiest posh accent I’ve ever heard.

    • Nikki says:

      deleted

    • Anne Marie says:

I saw it this morning on IG and it was hilarious how uncomfortable she was! She looked like a deer caught in headlights, eyes big as saucers. She physically reared her head back and did a very loud “oh ha ha, yes! Can’t wait to meet her!”

    • PrincessK says:

She was very uncomfortable, shifting around from side to side and stumbling over her words in reply, with a very nervous smile. She was definitely briefed on what to say if the question came up but l think the words came out the wrong way.

Silly Cambridge’s, they though that driving the Sussexes out would put them front and centre, whereas the Sussexes will follow them around as the elephant in the room wherever they go and whatever they say. They have made a bad situation so much worse all because of their petty jealousy.

    • LilacMaven says:

Her reaction to Andrea Mitchell’s question was cringeworthy. You’d think after all these years she would’ve developed some sort of game face when asked unexpected or awkward questions.

      • Nic919 says:

Someone compared her expression to when she was asked years ago to help wrap presents by a black woman in New York at the one event she did there and she rolled her eyes like the rude little princess she is. It was a very similar reaction as in how dare they question her. It’s why I don’t pity her. She wants this.

    • North of Boston says:

I cracked up that it was Andrea Mitchell who asked it.

She is no ET or pop-culture reporter or wallflower; she is an often serious news correspondent (currently the NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs & Chief Washington Correspondent) who has been at least once dragged out of briefing rooms for asking tough questions of world leaders.

A US reporter asked if Kate had met Lili yet on FaceTime 😬. Kate said she wished her well and can’t wait to meet her as she hasn’t yet. Funny how since the firm has been put on blast they are suddenly warmer.

    • Layla says:

Considering how long they took to meet Archie and the smear campaign these two numnuts launched against Lili’s mother, I doubt they really care.
They only care about their public image, which is why it’s so difficult to take anything she says seriously anymore. No matter how hard you want to believe, everything still looks fake and forced

    • Becks1 says:

Ooh she hasn’t even FaceTimed with her yet?? Yeah the brothers relationship is not good.

I would have laughed though if Dr Jill was like “oh we FTed this week! She’s lovely!”

    • Cecilia says:

      You’re joking??

    • Sure says:

Warmer? I thought the response sounded generic and it was obviously prepared in advance. Also her delivery didn’t come across as spontaneous or heartfelt.

      • Jegede says:

        @Sure

        Exactly.👍

        It was just Diplomacy 101.

      • ABritGuest says:

It wasn’t great of course as there is clearly not much of a relationship (so much for the great peacemaker) but it was warmer compared to when Archie was born & she randomly started going on about spring time, her kids & basically not really mentioning the newborn.

      • Züri says:

If you watch the video closely, she winces with teeth clenched and widened eyes after answering the question. Plus, more of that awful fake accent.

      • Ginger says:

Yeah, it didn’t appear warm at all. At least she didn’t say “Spring is such a nice time to have babies”. like she did about Archie. If the brothers haven’t FaceTimed, then their relationship is bad. My brother was one of the first to meet my kids

      • Ania says:

At least she didn’t say she already had a niece….

      • Thirtynine says:

One step up from saying no comment. Generic nothingness.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        Sure
Agree the response was scripted, practiced and still Kate looked like an awkward liar and upset/nervous after the answer was given. She did not want to be there or be asked that.

    • Nyro says:

Imagine your niece being a whole week old and you still haven’t seen her on facetime. I know Jill, the matriarch of a tight loving family, is disgusted by these people.

      • Jais says:

If Kate had just once said Lilibet’s name in her answer rather than using the pronoun she, I would have been pleasantly surprised. But she didn’t.

    • Lady Digby says:

RF there to cement ties with USA so doesn’t want to acknowledge how they cold OK shoulder American family member.

    • Lady Digby says:

Just as well reporter followed up with phone call then? No ! Card? No! Flowers? No! Buttons? No!

    • swirlmamad says:

Lili is a week old. If Will and Kate haven’t Facetimed yet…..they have no plans to, at least not anytime soon. If they were at least working on the relationship that call would’ve happened by day 3 (or at least right around when the announcement was released).

      • Beach Dreams says:

They would never initiate contact, they’d expect Harry and Meghan to call them. Given my suspicions on who exactly had concerns about Archie’s skin tone AND Meghan’s expression as Harry talked about a certain egghead in the Oprah interview…I doubt they’ll want to introduce their daughter to these two anytime soon.

      • Carmen-JamRock says:

It could be that the lamebridges expect H&M to be the ones to call THEM!
Just like their sycophants in the BM fantasize abt H “begging forgiveness” of the other royals (LMAO) and expecting him to be the one to “reach out” to his relatives on Saltine Isle, the lamebridges also expect overtures to be made to THEM, not them initiating a call with the parents of a newborn, like other normal people would do.

    • Truthiness says:

That was not just any reporter, it was Andrea Mitchell, a veteran journalist of substance who is married to Alan Greenspan, famous economist who was chairman of the Federal Reserve. I think Will is actually listening to the PR gurus hired this spring around the Oprah interview, probably for survival. Tina Brown is reporting that Will wants to reconcile, she has really high placed sources and was awarded the CBE title from the palace. Commander of the order of the British Empire for overseas journalism.

  14. Amy Bee says:

I’ll add Kate doesn’t know how to dress like professional woman. And according to the fashion watchers, Jill is wearing repeats.

    • AnneSurely says:

It really shows. I’m a bit taller than Kate and a few years younger and running around in heels that high, as a professional woman, is something you ditch in your 20s. Not only bc you look absolutely ridiculous, but bc it’s rude and impractical. Most of my clients were closer to 5 feet and with my high heels on, I was over 6 feet and bending over or awkwardly squatting is just inappropriate. And let’s not even get into how painful wearing 4″ heels is and how difficult it is to move quickly.

A normal woman her age would have been wearing a pencil skirt, blouse and cardigan with low heels or flats.

I actually started wearing kitten heels at work for good after seeing how tacky and trashy both Kate and Melania looked in them around other people when they were doing their official duties.

      • Nic919 says:

Kate tries to be taller to make up for her lack of confidence in general. But I agree that she looks silly, especially when she’s meeting up with someone who isn’t as tall, to add stilettos that height when being in the same photo frame is the point of the exercise seems dumb. And then she ends up hunching anyway.

      • Raya says:

That’s what I said above: Kate is already tall, why does she need or have to wear these high heels?why courtiers are making her do that? Especially if you are meeting kids or even taking photos with Dr Jill who is a petite woman?

      • Nic919 says:

Courtiers don’t make her wear those heels. It’s all her.

      • LetsGetReal says:

Can we stop with the it’s rude to wear heels if you are tall trope? I stopped with the 4″ stilettos in my 40’s because they just became uncomfortable, not because I was ‘rude’ for being taller than other people. My Ferragamos that I will take to my grave also take offense to the notion that heels are somehow ‘trashy and tacky.’

There is enough to rag on Kate about without resorting to tacky and rude to describe tall women in heels.
Also pencil skirt and cardigan? Pinterest wants their grandma board back.

      • notasugarhere says:

Kate chooses to wear those heels, then slouches in them with the worst posture of any modern royal. Even Stephanie of Lux does better, and she has skeletal issues (one side of her body/skeleton is about 15 percent smaller than the other side).

Pencil skirt and cardigan, or trousers and cardigan. These are typical and stylish office wear, as long as you know what you are doing putting those looks together. Queen Letizia often dresses in those outfits on the job and looks amazing.

  15. Charlotte says:

I love the dress, especially the color. Shoulder pads are a major trend btw. The only thing I would have changed is maybe I would have tried to add more volume at the hips to sort out the proportions.

    • HeatherC says:

Just because it’s a trend doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. I would never wear shoulder pads, my neck isn’t very long and I’d end up looking like a linebacker.

      • observer says:

i love watching other people take bad fashion ideas and run with them, it gives me some kind of schadenfreude. bring on the shoulderpads

  16. CindyP says:

I am NOT body shaming Kate but, my goodness, she is so thin. She does not look healthy

I just can’t with the kiddie mask

    • ShazBot says:

yeah, it’s kind of worrisome, the first thing I noticed here is that she just doesn’t look well. They can blow out her hair and put on make up and nice clothes, but she doesn’t look well.

      • Cookie says:

If that’s not body shaming, what do you call it? Concern trolling?

      • Calibration says:

I think you can be concerned about someone’s health without the body shaming tag. I have a friend who adores Kate (loathes meghan) and works in nutrition and she’s been saying last 3 years how slim she is.. And I know she’s genuinely concerned.

      • LetsGetReal says:

@ Cookie — it is usually a segue for how old she looks, haggard, smokes etc.

      • Calibration says:

Letsgetreal so why does she have all her pics (taken by her fav photogs) photoshopped to hell and back? All you need to do is compare candid pics versus the ones photoshopped. So why should she want them to do that if she looks healthy and amazing?

      • Cookie says:

@Calibration When you leave a comment like that on a site that is known for its almost gleeful disdain of woman, and said woman regularly gets dragged up and down the comments section for her appearance, it seems rather… disingenuous. I don’t think it has to have anything to do with anyone’s particular feelings about Kate vs Meghan, but context matters, and this is not a forgiving one.

      • Calibration says:

Cookie (or Carole with an e) I’m not being disenguous, my friend hates meghan with a passion, runs a very successful nutrition biz and adores Kate and is concerned. I give zero fucks about Kate, her family, and her health so there you go. Thank you for trolling. I guess you’ve been asleep the last 5 years at how meghan has been treated if you’re sticking up for lazy waity. But I guess you got to earn a pay check

      • SurelyNot says:

        asking for a friend…

        the jokes write themselves.

    • lucy2 says:

I just looked at old photos of her, she’s always been very, very slim.
And funnily enough used to dress in higher waisted clothing that was much better suited to her frame.

      • Becks1 says:

She has always been very slim (well since joining the royals, she was not this thin in her 20s) but over the past year or two she’s gotten even smaller IMO. There is nothing to her.

      • Nic919 says:

We can probably trace it to the discovery of the rose gardening activities. She got very thin after Louis was born and it would have been around then that she found out about it, and when she made Meghan cry.

    • Cel2495 says:

Agree….she does not look healthy at all. Her posture and shoulder pads are also a big no no. Hope she never meets that precious baby (Lili). She needs to keep her pettiness away and far.

    • Cookie says:

@Calibration My comment was specifically about criticizing a woman’s weight under the guise of concern. I’m honestly not sure why you keep bringing Meghan up — your friend’s bizarre hatred of her sounds problematic and cerainly doesn’t lend credibility to any statement she could make about either woman.

  17. UnionSnack says:

How comes Jill looks more active and younger than Khate?
I see Khate feels uncomfortable when it’s selfmade, confident woman around. Poor Khate, she will have a lot of that in the future. She has nothing but title which belongs to her husband while there are so much of selfmade women all around.

    • Nyro says:

Kate is such a throwback in the worst way. She’s like something out of the 1920s. And that’s a bad look for the position she in. How are women supposed to identify with this women who represents a British womanhood of 100 years ago.

    • TabithaD says:

Remember years ago when the Obamas visited W+K in their apartment? Kate was sitting on a sofa next to Michelle all stiff and silent and it looked like the most awkward meeting ever. And I’d imagine the Obamas would be easy people to talk to.
I think basically Kate has no interest in meeting people like this and doesn’t want to be there. She has absolutely nothing to say or contribute and she’s completely out of her depth.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Kate has *no* world experience outside of William and his friends. She has no real interests, other than tennis and dieting. She has nothing TO talk about.

      • LilacMaven says:

I can’t remember which Royal reporter said Kate had “never cracked a book in her life,” but it’s clear that Kate lacks intellectual curiosity. I can believe she sat silent next to Mrs. Obama. What did she have to talk about? What common interests could they possibly have?

      • notasugarhere says:

It must have been another example of Kate’s overall unprofessional behavior that day, rather than any sense of shame, because we know she picked the racist painting in the room.

LilacMaven, iirc it was one of her teachers from Marlborough/Downe who said that. Broke the ‘code’ the rest of the teachers had agreed to not to tell the truth about her. Paraphrasing, never cracked a book in her life, completely unmemorable, and anyone who said otherwise was lying for posterity. Uncle Gary also commented on her lack of brains, about how she always had to work much harder at schoolwork than Pippa because she just didn’t ‘get it’.

    • MsIam says:

That was my thought too. You can practically see Dr. Jill’s energy jumping off the page while Kate looks like she’s holding her breath with her shoulders drawn in and hunched over. Its hard to believe Dr. Jill turned 70 this week.

  18. Becks1 says:

These kinds of events don’t do Kate any favors. Even in the brief clip I saw of Dr Jill welcoming everyone Kate looked vaguely…..out of place? Uncomfortable? Something.

Do you think she knows she’s out of her depth with these people?

    • Layla says:

I only realised it now but Kate started wearing hoop earrings and carrying top handle bags after Meghan did in the beginning. I remember Meghan first wore hoop earrings at the Commonwealth Reception with Harry and the Queen and she would accessorise with top handle bags from the very beginning. Late was more renowned for wearing those really expensive Kiki McDonough but after the Irish Tour, she’s been full out copying Meghan’s accessories

    • Amy Bee says:

Becks: To answer your question, yes. That’s why she was a willing participant in the smear campaign against Meghan.

    • Dee says:

Kate always comes across as a teen summer intern on her first day. Not that teen summer interns don’t sometimes hit the ground running. But Kate never did.

    • hmm says:

She doesn’t come across as the brightest bulb.
Lot of these rich people go to universities, not on merit, but because who their parents know or by donating large amounts to the institution.

    • Nyro says:

I know Jilly from Philly’s totally unimpressed. This is a hard working and well educated woman. I doubt they talked about anything other than their kids/grandkids. What else are women like Jill supposed to talk about with Kate?

      • swirlmamad says:

The sad thing is, if things had gone differently and Meghan had been the one to go on this outing with Dr. Jill, it would’ve been an amazing match-up with some really interesting soundbites.

    • Nic919 says:

On some level she does because I don’t think she would be hunching or looking awkward all the time if she felt confident. And 10 years ago I would have felt bad for her. But she’s done nothing to improve herself and instead spent time being mean toward someone who could have been an ally. This is on her.

    • BeanieBean says:

They made her talk, so I’m sure she was dreading it. She pretty much repeated what’s she’s been saying–early years, first five years, what I’ve been learning, blah blah blah. And that’s from notes in front of her.
Contrast that with Dr. Jill talking about teaching in a psychiatric facility.

  19. Vizia says:

The Eden Project is actually quite amazing from an environmental and educational standpoint, and if you’re ever in Cornwall it’s a must-see.

    • Jellybean says:

I love visiting The Eden Project and it will be a spectacular place for a banquet.

  20. Elizabeth says:

Why is Dr. Biden the only one carrying produce?

  21. JT says:

There’s a photo of Dr. Biden indoors with Kate and Jill has her mask on, Keen does not. 🙄

    • Cecilia says:

Im surprised they even got vaccinated because the way they’ve been acting this pandemic i would have fully expected them to be anti-vax

    • notasugarhere says:

Numbers are up in some parts of the UK, including the outbreak at one of the G7 site hotels. Dr. Biden may have been protecting herself against Kate.

  22. Chicken Tetrazzini! says:

This might be the most relaxed and engaged Kate has been at an event that I’ve seen. No hyena laughing, no exaggeration of emotion – just genuine smiles and Kate seems relaxed. Hope she learns something from Dr. Jill because it’s a testament to Jill’s ability to engage and put others at ease that this is the case. It’s way past time Kate had a mentor, but I’m thinking that there should have been one long ago.

    • Noodle says:

My hope is that Dr. Jill is talking to her about survey methodology and offering to mentor her in areas of future research. Ostensibly, Dr. Jill DOES what Kate says she wants to do.

    • Nina says:

Well, she doesn’t have to deal with PWT’s looks of contempt and disgust. Nobody deserves that kind of crap. She should call him out on his shit. But does she have the strength of character to do it and is the desperation for the status of being FFQ that strong.

      • Nic919 says:

A woman with self respect would have divorced William years ago but that’s not Kate. In fact most women wouldn’t have put up with his cheating from the outset, but she did. She’s stuck around for 20 years so she needs to take some responsibility here. William will never change if she doesn’t require him to.

      • equality says:

That’s what I was thinking. It’s because William isn’t around. She always looks more relaxed without him.

      • Tessa says:

A woman with self respect would have dumped William when he “bragged” to his friends while on vacation with them and Kate that he had “sex” waiting for him (meaning Kate). If not then, then when he dumped her over the phone. She even went to “win him back” after his own friends leaked unflattering stories about the Middletons.

    • candy says:

I was thinking the same thing. I think Dr. Jill just puts everyone at ease with her kind, graceful manner.

  23. Calibration says:

I’m calling her keen ‘linchpin’ Mc Buttons for Scotland, of course. Yep, she needs bribing with clothes, jewellery and hair pieces to get out of bed. Dr Jill sees through you

  24. Mollie says:

Funny how Harry and Meghan were blasted for not attending the state dinner for Trump despite the fact that Meghan had given birth less than a month before and was on maternity leave. Meanwhile the Cambridge’s made sure to not be photographed with Trump and no one cares despite the fact that Trumps supporters also happen to be the biggest Cambridge fans. Had Harry and Meghan refused to be photographed with Trump, the press would have lost their minds.

  25. Nyro says:

Does she style herself? She’s an inverted triangle which means she already has a strong shoulder line, which means you should generally stay away from clothes that add more width or bulk to the shoulders. So why put her in such a shoulder centric dress with no width at the bottom to balance her out? If she has a stylist, that person hates her. Plus the dress is just ugly and a bad interpretation of 80s “woman who works” power dressing.

    • Nyro says:

Also, that dress is supposed to hug the body. She can’t even fill it out. I guarantee you it’s a size zero too.

      • candy says:

The dress is couture, so it was sized to her. My guess is she lost weight since it was tailored. I think Kate loses more weight anytime she has a high profile tour/event, which is hard to believe and very sad if she thinks she needs to do that.

  26. My Two Cents says:

I’ve always wondered what Kate speaks with world statemen, diplomats and intelligent people, like Dr Jill. Especially because this is HER topic, Kate is the under 5s woman, soooo did she have anything to add? I watched just a few minutes of the school visit video (too boring to watch the full 10 minutes), and I would bet the teacher was more articulate about why he’s working with small kids than Kate would be

  27. Sean says:

Whenever I read a post about Kate on here, they always make her sound like a bland, less cunning version of Margaery Tyrell.

  28. mariahlee says:

It baffles the mind that she’s naturally birthed three children. Her waist is so teeny.

    • molly says:

Three 8+ pound babies! It’s totally baffling.
I understand why they gave this dress giant shoulders, but whenever she’s next to a normal-sized person, she’s always so shockingly slim. I really hope she gets some carbs every once in a while.

    • PrincessK says:

She has lost a lot of weight over the years. She was shapely before she married William.

    • HeatherC says:

Childbearing hips are a lie! I’ve been told I have them and I’m more pear shaped than anything else. Still had a c-section.

  29. Sofia says:

I love Jill’s outfit. Talked about Kate’s outfit above. Like I said in the other post I really wonder what they could talk about. Jill has decades of experience with kids and while Kate has kids of her own and she can talk about them, her own EY work has been lacking.

  30. Hanna says:

I want to know which european monarchy will fall next ??
    My guess
    1. Spanish royals – people really hate those royals. No amount of lezi and Philip can do to change that.
    2. Brf – in terms of countries leaving them as head of state.
    3. Denmark- I’m really curious about danish though. I know posters here like mary and according to danish and general royal watch she is australian version of Kate middleton.
She and kate have lot in common though. They both have husband who fuk with nothing that moves , refuse to work husband and like Kate , mary hate her sister in law.
Their dynamic is very similar to cambriges and people dont have high opinion of mary.
    4. Sweden – not in near danger but maybe after victoria .

I wish kasiser cover these royal the same way as brf. These royals make brf poster child for scandal.

    1. In 2011 king of sweden swore 20s girl that he will marry her and make her queen. I mean chuck did this he might burn alive.
    2. Crown prince fredrick caught peeing on yacht with his little man display .

If anyone of brf men did this ?? Imagine the horror.
I wish this site cover those shady royals the same way as brf

    • Sofia says:

I think if any monarchy will fall it’ll be the Spanish and/or Belgian. Everybody else will be including the BRF.

If the royals go, so does the peerage and there are a lot of people who want titles and/or acceptance into and by the peerage. So there are a lot of people who will want to keep the monarchy around if solely for keeping the peerage around. Even if they’re not fans of the Windsors.

And the reason why the other royals aren’t covered is that the BRF is the most famous and well known. The other royals are sometimes covered but they do not get anywhere near the same clicks and comments as BRF posts do. Clicks lead to more money.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

WIlliam got papped drunkingly urinating in front of photographers and lets just say that he ain’t a shower. Kate was clearly trolling him when she gave him that pet name ‘big willy’.

    • notasugarhere says:

The current Spanish royal family are not the problem nor are they hated. The former king and his criminal daughter? They’re the problem, but the current king has made repeated public actions to cut off that branch of the family.

Denmark? Yes, Mary was Kate Middleton before Kate Middleton, cheating with Fred and putting up with his cheating through the years. I don’t think she hates her sister-in-law. Whatever is going on with Joachim/Marie being moved to France? Could be a simple PR move by Queen Margrethe to make the royal family look smaller. They had a tough few years of bad PR with Joachim’s ex-wife being on the taxpayer payroll.

Belgium? If the country splits, it would be because of politics not the royals.

Sweden? Egalitarian Swedes are somewhat embarrassed at having a royal family, but they seem to love Victoria. King has (finally) made moves to get his hangeron son and daughter in law off the royal dole. That was a positive move.

Dutch royals have gotten in trouble a lot in the last few years. Greek holiday home secured by the taxpayers. Holiday in the middle of COVID lockdown. The heir was to be given 1+ million a year allowance, but just today she announced she wouldn’t be taking it ‘for now’ in an act of solidarity. As much as W-A and Maxima are loved? They need to be careful.

Norway? New rounds of sympathy for the Crown Princess, given her potential 3-5 year life expectancy with her lung disease. But Martha Louise and her shady shaman could bring about the end of that monarchy.

Japan? I wish it would end with this current Emperor. After what the IHA put Masako and rightful heir Aiko through? I don’t want the younger brother and nephew to be living the high life as working royals.

      • Cookie says:

I m not sure what your relation is to Scandinavia but your take on the royal families isn’t entirely accurate.
First, Sweden. I do not know any Swedes who are embarrassed by having a royal family. Carl Gustaf isn’t particularly beloved but the institution itself is generally well-regarded and Victoria is especially popular. Norway: Mette Marit does not have a 3-5 year life expectancy. It seems like you may have gotten your information from the top of Google search results for pulmonary fibrosis, but her disease was caught early and she has responded well to treatment. There’s been no indication that she’s expected to die next year already (which your math would seem to indicate since it was back in 2018 that she went public with her diagnosis). Martha is a bit of a joke but she has been much more effectively sidelined than the black sheep in other royal families. I think most Norwegians have an odd affection for her and are content to have her relatively low-stakes shenanigans confined to tabloid fodder. Haakon is highly respected and seems to have raised a daughter with a good head on her shoulders. There’s no indication that the line of succession is in trouble here.
Denmark has a solid crown prince and princess team that doesn’t seem to be to beset by scandal or drama. They’re fine.

      • notasugarhere says:

Plenty of Swedes I know are embarrassed that they raise up one family above all others. The idea of calling Daniel ‘Prince Daniel’ was mocked as well. The king, after his shenanigans? He’s lucky Victoria is so liked. He also removed the HRH from the majority of grandkids after political pressure, to make it known that those kids won’t be working royals.

As for Mette-Marit? I wrote ‘potential life expectancy’ because we don’t know and they aren’t saying. Even when caught early, the condition can be fatal. With so many friends and family in medicine, believe me I know the difference between good and bad medical info.

Will she have the best care? Sure. But nothing is certain, just as Daniel’s condition isn’t certain. His father doesn’t have another kidney to donate, and most donated kidneys don’t last a lifetime.

Her diagnosis helped her enormously on the PR front, because she was roundly criticized for years because of her laziness and behavior. Couldn’t fly for work, but had no problem flying to NYC secretly for Met Ball parties and to vacation with her buddy Versace’s sister. And her association with Epstein. Martha Louise? Yes, her behavior is damaging for the monarchy, which is why they keep issuing statements distancing themselves from ML.

Denmark? As long as they don’t care about all of Fred’s cheating hitting the news, and the open mocking of Mary as a Dominatrix? They’ll be fine. But they have had several big negatives against their PR in recent years, like Alexandra being on the royal payroll long after she and Joachim divorced. The strange exile of Joachim and Marie to France? There has to be a reason, mostly like to make it look like the working family is smaller.

      • ArtHistorian says:

“the open mocking of Mary as a dominatrix”? Where do you hear that? I’m Danish, that is literally NOWHERE! The only thing that Mary has been publicly criticized for is her spending money on jewelry and expensive handbags. Fred’s cheating hitting the news – if you mean the occasional article in Se and Hør (the scummiest tabloid?), that’s not news – that’s just tabloids and people really don’t take them very seriously.

The bad PR is mainly directed at Joachim and Marie for not crossing their Ts and dotting their Is before taking their public money with them abroad (they didn’t ask parliament for permission like they should). I did not go over well that Jokke whined publicly about being criticized for not doing due diligence – and he whined about it in the scummiest of the Danish tabloids. The fact of the matter is that Joachim has never been very popular – and after he sold his estate, people have been wondering what he does with his life. I think he’s a bit like his father, not satisfied with his place in the hierarchy and he has issues with Prince Christian’s approaching adulthood. As long as he lives on public money and that the establishment actually got out and tailored a position for him, then he needs to let it go. If he’s not satisfied then he should do what Harry and Meghan did, renounce his apanage, and forge his own career. But he’ll never do that.

I also think that you don’t really have an accurate perspective on the situation here – because while there has been some bad PR is it nowhere close to the magnitude you’re claiming. Alex getting public money made people grumble but she’s off the public purse now. In short, the only ones who have gotten really bad PR has been Joachim and Marie – and that is entirely caused by their own actions.

I don’t know anything about that state of Mary and Fred’s marriage – and that is basically a personal issue. We really don’t care about sex scandals in the DK (unless it is something criminal like abuse). There have been persistent rumours that the Queen is bisexual but it isn’t a big deal and she’s still very well-loved. We really don’t care what they do in the bedroom, but we DO care about how they spend our tax-money. Mary is very well-respected because she does the work well and the most public mainstream criticism of Fred is that he needs to up his game and not coast along on his wife’s good reputation.

      • Calibration says:

Mary had a career at least and a law degree. She seems pretty smart, but what’s the dominatrix thing from? Mary seems to work at least. And could you imagine Kate learning Danish? 🤣🤣

I thought if anything, other than Fred’s cheating, was shady financial stuff?

  31. Ariel says:

Why not Camilla? I feel like she and our FLOTUS would have some good laughs together.
    Why send out England’s dilettante?

    • ElleE says:

@ariel why not Camilla? IDK but funny thing: check the Celebitchy archive for the 2010 DM story about C&C maybe living apart? That was 11 years ago and the bud has fallen off of that laughingly-false-revisionist-history-blossom.

Careful what you wish for guys. You might just be king one day and whoops, you can’t stand looking at the person next to you. That used to be ok when there weren’t cameras everywhere and SM…

    • notasugarhere says:

Camilla had four engagements in London in the last two days. If she had others on the schedule for months, they wouldn’t change those. Kate can be dragged out to pose for today, while Camilla may be handling Biden-related events tomorrow.

      • ElleE says:

@Notasugar we shall see. Cams never wanted C as a husband, never wanted to do any of this meet-heads-of-state-crap. She didn’t want to be a step mother. She wanted to be married to T. Bowles, live on her estate, hang with friends and her children and future grandchildren and be a mean person but Diana wasn’t having it so now she booked herself solid while in London while the G7 was in Cornwall? Disgrace.

Absolute disgrace, and an insult to the President and First Lady. College interns must be in charge of running the show for the BRF. The WH tab must have some tales to tell…

      • notasugarhere says:

She never wanted to marry him, but she has stepped up into her role. People who meet her like her, she doesn’t disappoint, she’s engaging. Given the state of COVID in the UK, why wouldn’t she schedule other events during this time? Who knows if it was going to be cancelled.

They needed to trot Kate out for a couple of things, that would have been decided by the new crisis managers. Dr. Jill at an education event? Let’s pretend Kate knows anything about early childhood and send her out. Camilla will do whatever events are decided she should be at. Simple.

      • Tessa says:

Too bad that Camilla did not leave the scene after Charles married Diana, if she did not want to marry Charles. Charles named her publicly so she did not have much of a choice after that. She and her husband divorced. Camilla though has maintained Raymill and spends time there with her children and grandchildren with her ex husband. So she gets a break.

      • notasugarhere says:

I don’t think she wanted to marry him then or now. She wanted APB as did Anne. Now she’s divorced from APB, Anne is stepping out with him, and Camilla is doing royal engagements. She does them well, is engaging and liked by those she meets. But when Charles named her publicly and the former Archbishop of Canterbury called on them to marry? No, I don’t think she was jumping for joy.

      • Tessa says:

As I recall the Queen eventually wanted C and C to marry and settle down instead of living together. Camilla’s father was said to have confronted Charles about his plans for Camilla after he outed her. Charles still had to wait to marry her because of disapproval of the Queen Mother and the Burrell trial.

  32. Crowned Huntress says:

First of all she’s she’s swimming in fabric. The shoulder pads, the ruching along the chest, & the belt cinched so tight fail to make a silhouette she simply cannot create.

On a fuller figure this dress would’ve been a home run. I can’t imagine how tiny Kate must be in person if the camera adds ten pounds and still she looks this slight.

    • Robin says:

I know. This is where I have pity for Kate. See my comment further up. Her body reflects her inner self, which I believe is riddled with anxiety, loneliness, and perhaps disordered eating. You can see the results in her face here; when she isn’t being sympathetically lit, it shows the strain of being under her natural body weight.

    • candy says:

Right? Such a slim pencil dress usually makes someone look curvy, even when they’re not. Like Leticia of Spain. Kate is drowning in this dress, which is telling. You can tell it’s a size 0000.

      • notasugarhere says:

Letizia is naturally very slim, but she’s also curvy. See tabloid photos of her in her bikini, or her va va voom dress at the Danish royal wedding. She was so embarrassed by the attention on her curves, she went very conservative in her dress for years after.

  33. Ann says:

I kind of like the neckline of the dress but that’s it. I don’t like the color, belt, or shoulders and it doesn’t flatter her. Dr. Jill looks appropriate but relaxed and I like the bright Spring color of her jacket.

    • Joan says:

I agree, I like the neckline, but your eyes are then immediately drawn to the shoulder pads, which are not good.

  34. aquarius64 says:

I am glad a US reporter asked Kate about Lili and in front of FLOTUS. You know the Firm didn’t want any questions about the Sussex’s coming up. This is a shot across the bough to the Windsors: in this case America will look out for its own.

    • Ginger says:

I love that they haven’t FaceTimed with Harry and Meghan. They will see her when they rest of us will.

    • Maria says:

The deer in the headlights expression she got for a split second was great.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I just saw this on CNN… you can SEE just how uncomfortable Keen is answering.

    • Lady Digby says:

It is very sad when you think what should have been, Harry and Meg there meeting the Bidens and being a celebration of Anglo American union. What a missed opportunity. Kate revelation that she hasn’t face timed them makes the estrangement crystal clear. Well it is their loss because we are stronger together. Queen is head of Church of England and charity and kindness are tenets of Christian faith.

      • PrincessK says:

        Exactly what I was thinking.

      • Tessa says:

The question took Kate by surprise so the “perky” look quickly disappeared on her face and she almost grimaced. She is so fake. IMO.

  35. Curious says:

omg that pic of Catherine walking with Jill . who told her this dress is good on her? she looks like the female version of Lurch from the Adams family next to Jill.

  36. Eurydice says:

I hate that dress with a hot, hot hate. So 80’s and not in a good way. Awkward pleating at the top, cheap-looking fabric that’s all wrinkly, shoulder pads that do nothing for the shoulder line. thick and awful fabric-covered belt like the kind we struggled with in middle school sewing classes. In fact, now that I’m thinking of sewing class, I’m sure there used to be a sewing pattern just like this – Butterick or McCalls.

    • Crowned Huntress says:

Atleast with a pattern you could jazz it up with a nicer fabric choice. Something similar to the Red & pink poppy flower dress Meghan wore for the VaxLive event for example.

A lighter chiffon would probably flatter her a lot more.

    • Dilettante says:

OMG Eurydice I thought I’d banished those nightmare memories – Butterick and McCalls…

    • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

It’s better than that tartan atrocity a couple of weeks ago. Not much else to say for it.

Suspect there’s been some work on the photos, too. The lap wrinkles mysteriously come and go. Maybe they’re stretching her out in photoshop and that’s why her proportions look odd.

    • notasugarhere says:

It is similar to a hot pink, 80s monstrosity Diana wore. Must be why Kate picked it, because it was in her and Mummy Carole’s Diana Look Book.

      • Eurydice says:

Oh lord, that hideous dotted thing with the tulip skirt, puffed shoulders, swathed neck and some kind of bunchy sash – it was a Frankendress, a mashup of random design elements.

  37. Red Weather Tiger says:

Saw video of them together this morning. In every one, Dr. Jill was engaged and animated, interacting with Kate and/or the children. Kate was either silent or looked like she didn’t know what to do with herself. When they all lined up for photos, Kate had the posture of a question mark.

Now, I myself am not great at the engaged mingling that Dr. Jill has made into an art form. But if I had angled for a job for a decade and had been doing it already for another decade, and that job was engaged mingling, I can only imagine I would not look like it was my very first day on the job.

Also, the dress is another bore.

    • PrincessK says:

Kate’s body language said it all, she was holding her arms around her while talking to the children, whereas Jill’s arms were open. When Kate did her speech at the press conference, she kept glancing down at her notes and moving her arms about too much to help her appear spontaneous. I also think that she was nervous because her minders who have been coaching her were watching her performance.

  38. Sara says:

I’ve got issues with the Cambridge’s but I will always respect that they avoided being photographed with the Trumps. That’s kind of awesome. Think about how much that probably bothered Ivanka that Kate wouldn’t do a photo op with her.
I love everything about Dr. Biden so that’s all from me.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Sara, I always think that the reason they weren’t photographed with the Trumps is because they are mannerless bores. I think they and their Tory government agreed with his politics, but he’s American and completely classless. IMO that’s why they stayed away from him.

    • PrincessK says:

Well Trump was so rude about Diana, so that was why they were determined not to be photographed with him.

      • notasugarhere says:

Doubtful, given how William threw his mother under the bus a few weeks ago. More likely they avoided Drumpf because of the comments he made about Kate’s topless photos.

      • Tessa says:

Penny Junor regularly trashes Diana in her books even in a biography of William. William never said a word of protest.

  39. KNy says:

Wait wait wait, didn’t Kate just get her FIRST COVID vaccine recently? As in, she is not fully vaccinated? If so, then why is she around Jill (who will be around Joe)? I’m sure she gets tested frequently, but still. I don’t like this.

    Jill looks great.

    • Eurydice says:

Joe and Jill Biden got their vaccinations back in December and January.

      • KNy says:

I know but I don’t like the idea of non-vaccinated (or not fully vaccinated) people being around them.

    • Robin says:

Exactly. They shouldn’t be mingling. For people who must be so well briefed, either they are ignoring what they’re being told or just plain dumb. I’m thinking both!

  40. Watcher says:

I am very sad for Kate looking at these pictures. Healthy bodies come in all sizes, I really do believe that, and there’s no good way for people to comment on the issue without body-shaming, but watching this play out in public surrounded by silence while we can all see what is happening reminds me of Karen Carpenter. Please someone help her.

    • Robin says:

Ditto. As someone who had an eating disorder years ago, I think she needs help, too. I think the difference between someone who is naturally slender and someone who is under their body weight is that the latter person looks frail. And she looks frail. And I am not body shaming or over reaching. I just remember what her natural body shape was before marrying the idiot.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Robin, didn’t they allow Diana to get help–although it took a number of Drs before one actually got it right? So, why not get Kate help? I really don’t understand these people–after all she is the revolutionary peacekeeper. Don’t they need to keep her healthy?

    • lucylee says:

Watcher, I have been saying she reminds me of Karen Carpenter for over a year. The coat dresses camouflage a lot. The fillers, botox, and wiglets help to deflect attention away from
      how painfully thin she is.

      • Robin says:

Saucy&Sassy and Lucylee. I wonder what help she gets, if indeed she has a problem (which I think she has). And these days the help she could afford must be top notch. It may be that whatever help she is getting is neutralised by her being so anxious and needing to remain in tight control of her lifestyle. And as you say, goodness knows what she’d look like without the hair extensions, the blow outs, the make up and cosmetic tweaks. The palace must be doing something? I can’t imagine they are oblivious. I sincerely hope William and Carole aren’t thinking everything is OK.

      • PrincessK says:

Remember that the Palace didn’t want it to get out that Meghan felt suicidal?

      • Thirtynine says:

Watcher and Lucy Lee, the Karen Carpenter moment for me came when Kate was on tour in Ireland in a green coat with her hairback in a headband. She was photographed with her head thrown back and her mouth open laughing. There is a photo of KC in a very similar pose and the resemblance startled me. I think she looks even thinner now. But then, she didn’t look emaciated in her jeans and T getting the vax, so unless that was photoshopped heavily, maybe the different clothes can be deceiving. I don’t know, but she certainly looks nothing like she did prior to marriage.

    • candy says:

Her weight is noticeable. I am not sure if she is okay, but I hope she is. She is naturally petite in her waist. But when my mom and I were watching it this morning on tv, my mom actually gasped. I hope she doesn’t think she has to be this weight!

    • Tessa says:

William was seeing a very thin woman while Kate was pregnant. She probably got worse after that, body image issues and all that. I imagine the doctor Diana had has retired by now, she needs to find someone to get to the root of it.

      • Jaded says:

I agree Tessa, it may be a combination of the stress of public life and a disintegrating marriage. Controlling food intake is often a symptom of feeling unable to cope with serious life events — it’s the only thing you can control.

  41. Athena says:

I read that the Queen was not intellectual curious or a great reader, I have a feeling Kate is the same way. She meets people and have nothing to say because she doesn’t pay attention to what is going on in the world. There are certain publications, she should be reading or at least skimming through daily so she knows what’s going on in the UK and what’s going on in the world. This way when she meets world leaders or common folks she’ll have something to talk about.
In those pictures, Kate and Jill are side by side, they’re smiling but not interacting. Compare those to the pictures of Jill and Boris’ wife. With Carrie there was interaction. It could have been two friends at the beach, a mother and daughter at the beach. With Kate it’s two women walking side by side.
Kate needs to start to really prepare for these events. It’s not about showing up and looking pretty.
Remember that picture of Kate sitting at a desk with a row of old classics, that told me right there that she doesn’t read and that those books were for show.

    • Robin says:

The Queen always strikes me as a product of a bygone female education. She can speak French. (She insists on the Christmas lunch menu being written in French, for heaven’s sake.) But apart from that, I think she was given little in the way of rigourous education. What she does have, however, is sparkle and wit, good humour and interest in people. Apparently, she is captivating in company and speaks to everyone and is informed. You cannot say any of this about Kate. For someone like Kate in normal life, she’d get out of this job and stride forth into career better suited to her capabilities, or stay at home looking after the kids. But she can’t. She’s utterly stuck. Unless they get divorced. Even then, I don’t think she could handle the media attention that would focus on her for years after.

      • Nic919 says:

The Queen was never an intellectual but she has picked up things over the years and more than one prime minister (of Canada) has said that she has a lot of insight to offer on certain issues. Kate just seems dim and uninterested and at almost 40 it’s not a good look.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Liz’s parents were very much against education (I recently listened to a podcast with a historian who had written a book about them) – mainly because her father was really bad in school (like no. 62 out of 63) and her mother didn’t think girls needed to be educated.

      • Raya says:

@ArtHistorian Can I ask you why they were against education? Like how can u be against something that can nourish you and enrich you life? That seems crazy to me…

      • ArtHistorian says:

I honestly don’t know, that was just what the historian said – that Liz’s parents didn’t believe in education. That Liz’s parents weren’t well-educated and didn’t see the need for education. The Windsors does have a reputation for being philistines when it comes to education and the products of the mind. Being anti-intellectual was something they cultivated – it probably has something to do with the fact that many of them weren’t and aren’t very intelligent. The Queen’s grandfather George V was thought to be very dim.

It may have something to do with their immense entitlement. Why educate and better yourself when you already inhabit the social pinnacle? I don’t know – it is a mentality that is totally foreign to me.

      • Raya says:

@ArtHistorian thank u for your response and that totally makes sense : they all toe the line in a chance to have a title and Liz has the highest like Charles or William so why would they need to instruct themselves ?to better themselves? No need they are semi gods onand everything is done for them(speeches, that’s why they can’t be spontaneous ,their wealth, their castles…) yesterday there were articles asking how Dr Jill a PHD educated woman would conduct herself meeting the queen like it’s some sort of honor to meet her?

    • Raya says:

@Athena I agree with you that Kate is not super curious like William like the queen and that’s why courtiers are taking advantage of them: they don’t have to think,to know anything to be good at their work:they just have to show up and wear beautiful clothes…I would love just to be pretty and just be present at work and have everything paid and taken care for me,unfortunately I have to use my brain to have a check

    • notasugarhere says:

She reads lots of books – but only about the few topics that interest her. Example, military history. That’s why Sophie became a fan of military history books, because she was kissing up to her MIL.

      • Tessa says:

Queen Mary was said to be appalled at the type of education Elizabeth and Margaret got. Margaret later complained that her older sister got a better education than she did and resented it.

  42. Kit says:

I like the colour of Kates dress but Lord l.dont think l have seen her with this amount of weight loss. Kates posture looks painful, her hair extensions at this stage looks heavier than her. Sorry Kate this job is just not for you, never has been.

Jill looks great as always !!

    • Curious says:

Jill is a very slim woman herself. and Jill standing next to Catherine ,makes Catherine looks extremely thin. when one is young like in their teens, 20’s ,some are normally slim. but in my view as you age and lose weight, its not healthy .Catherine had a healthy looking body before she had children . a skinny 19 yr is is different from a skinny soon 40 yr old.. Catherine also had huge babies. and never added any weight on .so her body might have changed so she can’t put on weight? she is very slim, but at the same time her face is full and looks healthy. but neck down she can’t seem to put on weight , ,seems she can only put on weight on her face.In jeans she looks normal. in these slim sort of dresses she wears ,it makes her look even more thin.

  43. mariahlee says:

Omg I watched a video of their closing statements and Kate was so visibly nervous. No confidence, no presence, and fumbling through simple thank yous. They do her a real disservice by artificially propping her up as perfect, often at the expense of others. There’s no way 10-years in, engagements like this should kick her butt like they do.

    • Joan says:

I really don’t understand this. You’re not good at it but it’s a requirement of the “job”, then get some help and practice, practice, practice. I can only conclude that she doesn’t care and knows the BM would never criticize her?

      • Molly says:

I think she’s under way too much pressure and in completely over her head. There are constant stories about how she’s going to “save the monarchy!” put out by her staff, her family, and probably her own mother. Add in the fact that The Lili Response was probably worked to PR death and drilled into her head, and it’s no wonder she’s wilting. That’s a lot of pressure for anyone, much less someone without much instinct or desire to shine.

Which is why I think it’s such a shame that Kate and Meghan couldn’t ever connect. I think they’d both be in a better place as teammates instead of enemies.

      • Chrissy says:

I agree with you, Joan. Even 19 year old Diana realized she needed to improve her public speaking and so she got help. She realized that communicating with others was a part of her job, so she did something about it. Kate has been in that family for 10 years and has not improved one iota since she married in. she appears to have developed no outside interest in world affairs and comes across as a dud when she should be engaging on a number of topics. If she is going to be the “lynchpin” of the BRF, someone better sit her down and make sure she works on her people skills or else she may find herself being the next lamb to the slaughter when it all comes falling down.

      • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

It’s only since Meghan that the tabloids have stopped bullying and criticising Kate. Even though she’s fairly crap at the job, a nasty piece of work and apparently incapable of learning, she’s had years of media attacks, and you can’t expect her to just get over it any more than Meghan, or anybody else they’re victimising.

      • BeanieBean says:

But Joan, what’s going to happen if her job performance doesn’t improve? Will she get a poor annual review? Dock in pay? Placed on a performance improvement plan? Fired? No, nothing, no consequences. She’s skated along so far like this, I think she’ll continue.

      • Raya says:

@Beaniebean you are right, she will never be fired even if she is super bad at her job.She just has to be pretty….and she was good in her last videos,I really thought she improved

    • Robin says:

Agree. I’ve always thought Kate finds her public life so difficult that it makes the people around her jumpy. She is meant to be the highly placed person who’s expert at putting people at ease, but she doesn’t know how; it’s the people who’ve come to visit her, the un-famous ones, who end up having to make her feel comfortable and secure.

    • notasugarhere says:

Kate and Carole never planned past dragging William down the aisle. They thought ‘royaling’ would be buying pretty dresses, being curtsied to, and posing. Kate’s pre-wedding comment, overheard at a restaurant, about wanting to be like the Queen Mum – rarely seen, never heard, and adored anyway. Kate’s lack of work experience coupled with her lack of intellectual curiousity? Comes back to haunt Mummy Carole.

That’s why Carole made those vicious comments about being royal is more than giving speeches. Meghan walked in the door and wiped the professional floor with Kate on day one.

    • Curious says:

don’t understand after all these years of meeting heads of states, and other people with high positions in different field of work from many countries that they visited. why is she still nervous. her speeches are written for her,all she must do is read it with compassion, other than that she also just need to make small talk with the people in the charity she is visiting.

  44. Eh says:

Keen Kry for Help is what I get from this look honestly.

  45. Ginger says:

The look on Kate’s face after she answered about Lilli is cringe. She looks either disgusted or embarrassed. Someone on twitter has it. Very revealing.

    • Tessa says:

She would not go near Lili the same way she did not move over to see Archie on the polo field. Cringeworthy.

  46. Tessa says:

Kate is so difficult to understand when she talks almost through clenched teeth with a “posh” accent.

  47. Randie says:

Why didn’t the Ducheds of Cornball meet Jill??
Why was Camilla passed over? After all isnt Cornwall her namesake?

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Randie, do you think it’s because Keen and Peen wanted those photos with the Bidens as a “gotcha” to H&M? That’s actually the only thing I can think of. Camilla would have been a much better choice.

    • HeatherC says:

Because Kate is an expert in early childhood. Her mom said so. She’s devoting her whole life to the results of the five questions.

    • notasugarhere says:

Camilla had engagements in London the past few days, which would not be moved. She will be at other events for this visit, but Kate could be trotted out for a couple too.

    • Curious says:

because since Jill is a teacher and Catherine did her project about early years ,it was best for Catherine to meet Jill and ,maybe get some advice for her project . who knows Jill might be the right person to teach Catherine some facts about the early years.. but by saying that , at the same time, i can’t understand why Catherine thinks the early years is so important, but yet abused Meghan when she was pregnant and didn’t give a crap about Archie after he was born, they kept on with the abuse , did Catherine ever think how this is hurting Archie mother? Archie needs a healthy mother and now she is not speaking up to protect Lili Diana from press abuse. so doubt Catherine knows how important it is for a child in their early years .when she doesn’t give a crap about Archie/ Lili Diana early years .

  48. candy says:

Her weight loss is shocking to me, especially on video. I hope she is ok! The dress is quite elegant when it moves. I like the slit on the side, and the length too – just below the knees.

Jill is just perfection as always, and so genuine. Both very feminine.

  49. Roo says:

I don’t care if Keen is Princess of the Universe, she is younger than Dr. Jill and should be carrying the carrots. Didn’t her mama teach her any manners?

  50. MerlinsMom1018 says:

Am I the only one who wished that Dr. FLOTUS had showed up in her miniskirt, fishnets, boots and black leather jacket?
and that Kate needs to stop shrinking? I don’t have any love for her but dear god…she looks so bad
The stress must be out of the stratosphere

  51. aquarius64 says:

How Kate handled the Lili question was awful. It is still a bad look not seeing the baby in a week. How is it received on line?

    • Tessa says:

Kate made it obvious how she feels about her niece and nephew. Before that she would not walk a few steps to say hello to Archie on the polo field. It is odd how her fans want the Sussex children to be with their relatives and cousins yet Kate is the one who seems to have caused the trouble, ignoring them.

  52. Margaret says:

The child kate bent over and asked if there was a question, and the child shook his head no, was eerie. Then the pregnany pause and Jill had to jump in to save the awkwardness of the moment.
Sad a early childhood expert, could not interact with young children, unless it is a.photo op moment.

  53. CrystalBall says:

Dr. Jill looks very dynamic, and at age 70 she brings more pizzazz than Kate in her 30s! I was somewhat surprised that Kate chose a dress in such a similar hue to Carrie’s yesterday. Had she hoped to dominate in pinky red, this did not work out at all as Dr. Jill was in every way the brightest woman in the room, including her smart blazer.

  54. crushton says:

I always feel guilty when I judge a woman on her clothes and makeup, but in “Catherine’s” case, I think it’s more than fair to be critical. It’s supposedly the only way in which she has ‘prepared’ for her job, and she’s terrible at it. Poor fit aside — if Kate was good at this, she could be selecting pieces from sustainable brands that lift up women in impoverished communities. It would be an easy win: she can pretend to care about the environment and about other people, all while wearing something shiny.

For someone who’s spent over a decade pursuing TOB, her preparation pre-marriage was abysmal. She could have taken classes on public speaking. She didn’t. She could have learned another language. She didn’t. She could have begun working with local charities, taking etiquette classes, traveling to places other than Mustique. She didn’t.

This is why Meghan’s presence must have scared the daylights out of Carole and Kate. She had been putting the work in her whole life, and not to snag a man. Meghan’s style outshone Kate, and her style isn’t even the best part about her. Meghan’s extraordinarily intelligent, empathetic, & savvy so the work looks easy.

Same with Dr. Biden — being First Lady is her side gig. And she’s great at it. The British press can keep ragging on H&M and America, and we’ll keep sending over women with more talent, smarts, and compassion than their whole damn monarchy.

  55. Q says:

The wiglet looks ridiculous as usual. The skinnier she gets, the more obvious the heavy fake hair looks.

    • HeatherC says:

It’s quite possible that she’s losing her hair or her hair is breaking so she needs more wiglets and extensions. It’s quite common when you’re in a nutritional deficit (more than likely due to an eating disorder)

    • Curious says:

not only that , but if she is unhealthy skinny,it will affect her hair and teeth ,her bones and nails. but she looks like she have a full head of hair. her teeth looks great . well god knows if she has bleeding gums and such cause she is not getting the balance of vitamins in her body.

  56. ceb says:

it must suck to be a real working adult with a career and working in politics and have to go pretend these british mascots are somehow on the same level as you

  57. swirlmamad says:

Over $1k for that wrinkled, ill-fitting mess? Such a damn waste. For all that money, that better be the most luxurious, drapey fabric ever. As for the irony that Little Ms. 5 Question Survey was the one sent out on an education-based engagement with Dr. Jill….lol.

    • Ania says:

I’d love to hear their conversation! Dr Biden saying meaningful things about importance of education and Kate mumbling „yes, I’ve researched that early years are important!”… but it looks like she is very aware of lightning years difference between her and Dr Jill and it made her very uncomfortable.

    • Ania says:

When you’re 40 and a lady in her 60ties looks more modern than you…. time to hire a stylist and listen to him!

  58. Nina says:

That dress is too busy. Pleats at the neck, shoulder pads, a belt, the colour.

  59. Q says:

At least the botox is looking fresh.

    • Beach Dreams says:

Yes, her face does have that telltale shine to it.

      • Nic919 says:

It’s been two weeks since she was seen in public so it’s not a surprise that she hid away to get touch ups.

  60. Amelia says:

About that reception that’s taking place, William, Charles, Kate and Camilla disgust me so much ( idk how much the Queen is aware but if she is she’s in this list too). They’re all well aware of the disgusting smear campaign against Meghan and her NEWBORN daughter, and here they are pretending as if they’re the only ones that matter. William needs a straight up punch to his face. What an idiot!
Also is it just me or has anyone noticed when Kate walks how hers arms sort of bounce and flail around a bit? What is up with that? Always gives me the giggles

    • Nina says:

Because to them, they are the only ones that matter. To them, Harry’s biracial wife and children are on the same level as the domestic help. If it wasn’t for the general public’s reaction to the way Meghan, Harry, and Archie were treated, they would not bat an eye and would’ve acted like they did not exist.

    • Tessa says:

William and Kate would have wanted Harry trailing after them at the reception. They resent that Harry got married and left. William behaved horribly to his brother.

  61. olliesmom says:

    BRILLIANT:

This was always the plan – Queen Elizabeth would send her keenest, most button-covered lynchpin soft-diplomats to greet world leaders in Cornwall for the G7 Summit.

Why is Waity making Jill Biden (her guest) carry the bowl of ?? (are those carrots)?! I guess because Jill is the commoner and she is, after all the future queen of England.

  62. SusanRagain says:

    Shoulder pads are no good.
    Banish them forever, please.

  63. JRenee says:

    What accent was that?

  64. Marivic says:

Queen Letizia is also waif-thin. But I think, unlike Kate, she carries herself with much poise, confidence, and self-assurance. This is all absent in Kate’s personality and demeanor. And people see through her deficiencies. She’s like a wilted flower. No zest in life. Hope she’s not too proud to seek help. It’s not yet late.

  65. Mrs. Smith says:

That video is hilarious! Andrea Mitchell says clearly “Your Royal Highness?” And it takes Kate a couple of beats to look up, like oh? Me? And instead of just saying some basic baby platitude, Kate just starts blathering and looks uncomfortable.

  66. yinyang says:

She wears six inch heels to look commanding but slumps over to look less domineering…why not just wear less heels

  67. Calibration says:

Meghan was described as a hooker for wearing tall heels. But Kate is regal. These people. She should iron her damn dress too and stand up straight!

    • Raya says:

Meghan was called a hooker?seriously? I heard about that she was sexy and Kate beautiful and I knew it was clearly racial bias

    • Gingerbee says:

@ Calibration, Yes, I remembered when those ratchet rota said that about Meghan. Copy Catty is at it again. She is wearing the Altruzzra shoes, same shoes Meghan wore a few times.

    • Tessa says:

It is sickening how the stans fawn all over Kate, with some adding a dig at Meghan. They call Kate classy which I find a joke.

  68. Kate says:

Kate was an outstanding student and had her choice of top Universities; She’s educated and been exposed to a lot of different interests and topics. Some of the comments about her being “out of her depth” and incompetent in world matters is quite sexist. Just because she chooses to balance work and family doesn’t make her any less competent. Yes her weight loss is quite drastic but perhaps she has an underlying health issue other than aversion to roses.

    • Raya says:

It’s not because she chooses to balance her mother role and her work,it is what she says: she always mumble or incoherent and compared to a Letizia or a Maxima(who are also mums),she seems incompetent and out of place in her role

    • Salma says:

Kate is educated but it doesn’t mean that she is cultured: I know plenty ppl who have Masters and PhD but they are not curious outside of their expertise or world.
I just watched the video of her engagement with Dr Jill and I felt embarrassed for her: it was super painful to watch, she practically said nothing, breathing hard ,not making eye contact, like she lacked any understanding of the topic which she’s supposed to be championing …She is unable to exude warmth or make a connection with those she’s talking to.

IKate is extremely anxious during public speaking,:she just has to be pretty and cut ribbons: nothing intellectual cause she cannot manage.

      • swirlmamad says:

It was also so distracting to watch her slumping and sitting awkwardly while Dr. Jill was speaking, fidgeting and just looking overall bored and disengaged. So unprofessional and completely UN-regal, in my opinion. It’s like she had to wait for the cue word to snap to attention and rattle off the memorized lines she was told to say.

    • Lady D says:

Balance work and family? Y’all need to look up the meaning of the word balance, @Kate.

    • swirlmamad says:

Can you please point out a specific instance when your namesake actually said anything profound, interesting or intelligent at an engagement or event? Or asked questions that shows she has an interest or curiosity in the topic at hand? This has nothing to do with sexism and everything to do with the fact that she never looks like she’s truly at ease or enjoying herself at any of these events unless it’s something super lightweight that doesn’t involve any kind of intellectual discussion. We all can’t be Rhodes Scholars but she needs to read/watch the news and get herself a coach that can keep her informed and abreast of topical issues so that she can actually look like she can handle the position she put herself in. She wanted this life, so she needs to act like it and put in the work. Y’all are funny acting like this woman is some kind of heavyweight when she’s the complete opposite. Not to mention persecuting Meghan solely because she’s everything Kate’s stans wish she was.

    • Elizabeth says:

      Thanks for the comment Carole!
For someone you claim is so educated she sure can’t string a sentence together with mumbling or looking at notes.
And what work? These appearances are not real work, they take up a few hours & she takes weeks off.

    • Haylie says:

Please. She likely got what we call the “Gentleman’s C.” Rich kids don’t get flunked out of elite schools because it will piss off their wealthy donor families. Even if they never show up to class. It’s why George W Bush has a Yale degree, and why Trump and some of his kids have U. Penn degrees.

      See also: Prince William.

      • swirlmamad says:

EXACTLY. If anyone thinks the fact that she was dating one of the princes of the UK and likely their highest-profile student at the time had nothing to do with the glowing grades she may have received (despite numerous stories that she would cheat off other students and was not studious), I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

    • Jules says:

I just saw a video of Jill Biden having a conversation with representatives of different charitable organizations. She brought up instances of her work with some of these and she and the rep even had friends in common from these organizations. Kate cannot engage at that level because she doesn’t really do anything except show up wearing expensive outfits and read a couple of sound bites. She appears to have few interests outside of socializing with her aristo “friends” and her children. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but her JOB requires much more. Her teacher said she never opens a book unless she has to and it’s pretty evident.

    • Maria says:

In order to balance work and family, you have to do actual work sometimes.

  69. Jennifer Smith says:

Why is FLOTUS carrying the royal plate with the royal carrots?

    • MerryGirl says:

LOL poor Kate, totally out of her depth. Reminds me of Melania’s two-faced expressions behind Trump’s back. And what’s she doing with her hands, grasping at air? Clearly she’s not ready for primetime.

    • TabithaD says:

      She actually looks furious!

  70. Layla says:

Has anyone noticed how Recently, Kates been copying a lot of Meghan’s footy wear choices; Jennifer Chamandi, then Manolo, then Veja and now The exact style of Aquazurra’s that are basically signature Meghan.
    Desperate much?

  71. aquarius64 says:

With all of this embiggening of the BRF I find it funny that CNN is airing Harry and Meghan A Royal Revolution tonight at 8 pm EST with updates. I guess the Sussexes were not being ignored.

  72. Marivic says:

Kate is visibly pissed off with the question about her niece Lilibet. How can she not be? She’s the future, future Queen consort and yet the question was all about Meghan (indirectly). There’s absolutely no interest in her. Meghan has cast a long shadow over Kate and the whole RF. And Kate knows and hates it. The world is interested in the biracial duchess.

  73. Monica says:

In the interests of peacemaking, I think Kate looks great. She could have had a nice career as a catalog model.

    • norah says:

and what has she achieved apart from snagging a husband? she cant hold a conversation nor speak in public which is part of her duties. if everyone else do it then why cant she at least try

    • Q says:

LOL at my comment being deleted because I dared say kate doesn’t have the face or body proportions for modeling.
If kate had the opportunity to model she would have done so ages ago in her youth but no agency would take her because she would never be able to book a job due to her long torso and shorter, frog shaped legs for starters.
