Britney Spears & Sam Asghari are engaged after five years together

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are engaged after about five years together. They met and began dating in 2016 and Sam has supported her through her conservatorship. Reportedly, Sam was even a big part of helping Britney free herself too. The engagement is not some big surprise – when she spoke in front of the judge earlier this summer, Britney expressed a desire to get married and have another child, only to be thwarted for years by her father. Sam was also seen looking at engagement rings recently.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are stronger than yesterday! In fact, the superstar singer and her longtime love are engaged, Spears confirmed on her Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 12. “I can’t f–king believe it,” she wrote alongside a video of her and Asghari, along with her gorgeous 4-carat diamond ring. Asghari also shared the news on his Instagram page, posting a close-up shot of the ring, designed by Forever Diamonds NY, along with king and queen emojis.

In early September, an insider shared insight into the couple’s engagement plans. “Engagement has always been in the cards for Sam and Britney, without question,” a source close to Sam told E! News. “It’s the direction their relationship has been heading for nearly two years now. It’s always a discussion and it’s not a question of if, it’s when.”

“Things are evidently becoming better for Britney with her conservatorship and she’s never felt this liberated in all aspects of her life,” the source continued. “The closer she gets to freedom, the closer she is to seeing all of her dreams become an actual reality. Marrying Sam is high on that list and loving him the way she wants, how she wants, on her own terms. Sam also understands how close they are to being out of the woods, and it’s definitely motivating him to think big.”

[From E! News]

From my limited understanding of conservatorships and how they function in a legal sense, it’s never been the case where Britney could run off and get married to Sam or anyone else. While she’s technically still in a conservatorship right now, she’s going to have a lot more legal freedom in the months to come. Interestingly enough, TMZ had a story a few days ago about how Britney has told her personal conservator Jodi Montgomery that whatever happens with Jamie Spears, Britney wants Jodi to stay on as some kind of personal manager. In Britney’s mind, Jodi can still function as someone who would be “dealing with her doctors, making various appointments, making sure she takes the right regimen of meds, arranging meals and chefs, handling the house staff, organizing recreational outings, etc.” Jodi has agreed to this arrangement.

Update: Sam just posted a message on social media, saying of course they’ll have a prenup, because he wants to protect his Jeep and shoe collection.

  1. Amy T says:

Wish her only good things. She’s way overdue for them.

  2. Laura says:

Why is her ring on the right hand?

    • Jeanine says:

Because she is mentally unstable and unaware what is truly going on. That man is using her and I hope she doesn’t bring another child into this situation.

      • M says:

Oh wow we got a visit from Britney’s psychologist!! Or wait, is this Jamie??

      • Andrew’s Nemesis says:

@Jeanine What a disgusting thing to say about someone who has been manipulated, gaslighted and coerced for her teen and adult life. She deserves absolute freedom from these locusts, not further censure. Do you have the same sentiments about Kanye, Arnie Hammer et al, or only for this woman? Might want to check your entrenched misogyny.
I wish that Britney and Sam make each other happy.

      • Kviby says:

It’s a social construct to wear an engagement ring so who cares . I think England or France does it the opposite way too. At least it is a nice and normal ring

      • corralee says:

Kanye is also extremely mentally unstable. Idk about Armie, he might just be a typical male with gross perversions.

But yeah, she’s definitely not all there. Does that mean she should be in this conservatorship? No. But she’s definitely not mentally well either.

      • Case says:

How cruel. The camera is clearly flipped.

      • minx says:

        WTF? Take it easy.

      • WithTheAmerican says:

Wow, do you want her sterilized too? GROSS.

      • Delphine says:

Front facing cameras reverse the image. How clueless you are. 🤦‍♀️

      • Abby says:

whoa there Jamie, I think the camera is on selfie mode…. so, flipped.

      • Jaded says:

Jeanine – who made you arbiter of Britney’s womb?

      • observer says:

even if you are right, why does this comment strike me as being so f-king ableist?

      • LisaNola says:

I’d like to see anyone who has gone through what she has for the last 13 and probably many more years and be what you would consider “all there”! Poor girl was post-partum and harassed by paparazzi until she lost it – and of course that made her “crazy” – just how her handlers wanted her to appear so they could control her and all of her money. I wish her nothing but the best and all the happiness in the world – I don’t care how much of her is “there”.

    • Maria says:

Because the camera is flipped for this picture. She posted a video with a series of pics flipped then in their proper position. She’s wearing the ring on the traditional finger in real life.

    • MissMarirose says:

It’s filmed with the front facing (selfie) camera so everything’s flipped.

    • Amy Too says:

I’m confused by the camera flipping thing. Can someone explain it to me like I’m 4 years old? I took a bunch of pictures of myself on selfie mode and regular camera mode and my ring still appears to always be on my left hand. The camera flips my photos so if my hand was on the left side of the screen when I was shooting it ends up on the right side of the screen in the picture, but I can still tell it’s my left hand. I watched her short Instagram video and I saw that the ring looked like it was on her right hand for the first 2 shots and then on the left for the last one. How does that work? Could she just be switching it back and forth for whatever is easiest to get a pic of?

      • Msmlnp says:

Thank you, please someone help! How can this be “flipped”? Isn’t that her right arm extending??? With her fiancé’s left arm around her? I’m doubting my sanity here.

      • Maria says:

It’s an aesthetic thing, people do it all the time (in movies too, you’ll often see rings on the wrong hand etc).
It’s easier to tell if you’re using a phone with its camera facing forward, but there are a lot of photo editing selfie apps that don’t flip the image correspondingly. She probably just chose not to reverse it.
        Here’s the opposite version. https://ibb.co/80XXy9C

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Camera flips the image. It’s quite literally a mirror image.

      • Amy Too says:

My camera automatically corrects that. When I’m taking a selfie it’s like I’m looking in a mirror, but then the phone flips the picture so everything looks the way it would look if someone was looking at me. Do some phone cameras not automatically flip it so it looks correct? Or is that something that people turn off for whatever reason? I don’t really know why you’d turn it off though.

  3. Keats says:

Ahhhh I’m with Octavia, I don’t trust this guy.

    • goofpuff says:

Yep. Hopefully he’s got to sign a pre-nup.

    • Susan says:

SAME. He has to be “approved” by Jamie or he wouldn’t be in her life…and thus, I don’t trust anyone “approved” by Jamie. Ugh.

      • Maria says:

On the other hand, Jamie would never let anyone around her who wanted a cut of her money and would cut into his own bottom line.

    • Seaflower says:

      +1

    • Nlopez says:

I get a bad vibe from him too. I wish her the best too

      • susan says:

he’s been with her for 5 years. from here it seems he treats her well and isn’t cashing in on her fame. she deserves a chance to be happy. Plus, she wants a baby. what’s the worst that could happen? she has another kid and they split up, she still gets her hearts’ desire. at 39 she doesn’t have a lot of time left.

    • BonnieT says:

Laura, I think the selfie cam might flip the image? I’ve noticed sometimes taking pictures that my wedding bands and rings look like they are on the right hand.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

As horrible as her father was/is, I wonder if there’s anyone on her team left that’ll insist on an iron clad pre-nup. This guy is just Federline 2.0

Also, there is *no*way*in*hell* HE paid for that ring.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I’m fairly certain they got the whole thing comped or at least a large discount for the publicity that they provided an engagement ring for Britney Spears. I’m pretty sure that’s how celebrity world-adjacent jewelers work. It drives more customers in their doors, that’s easily worth any upfront loss, especially in light of the exorbitant markups jewelers charge.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I dunno – you don’t see or hear much from him and he seems ok with being in the background. I haven’t read of any douche bag drama with him unlike KFed who left his gf and children to hook up with Britney. Even before they got married there were stories of him and his friends partying in Vegas with Brits money.

I think he’s a successful personal trainer and he does seem very supportive of her. Personally, I don’t get KFed vibes from him. KFed has always been an opportunist and he only has a few years left on the gravy train.

Good luck to them. Based on the photo’s he posted on his IG, I’d marry him as well LOL (the shallow, almost, middle aged woman that i am).

    • WithTheAmerican says:

Me either, only because she’s been with him while under her fathers thumb. But I’m praying/hoping to be wring and so glad she is free to make the same mistakes we all are.

  4. Noki says:

Her post was overwhelmed with PRE- NUP comments lol. Her kids are a couple of years away from turning 18 atleast K Fed will be gone in that sense.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

And this guy will be taking K-Fed’s place.

I feel so sorry for Brit. I think she’s very child-like in so many ways. It just feels like this barnacle is another one taking advantage of her.

    • BabsORIG says:

Oh my goodness, Britney has her faculties about her. With the right regimen of meds, 90% of people with mental illness go on to live successful meaningful lives, start and raise families if they want and can pretty much do anything they want; this is not the 1900s. This guy has been with Britney for 5 years, he is not a drama queen diva that constantly wants attention. Jamie might have approved him but that doesn’t mean Sam is out for Britney’s money too. If he was, he would have just gotten paid by Jamie instead of working on Britney’s behalf to have her conservatory binding chains be gone. Not everyone in these people’s lives is blood sucker; people need to ease up on the negativity projection.

  5. Oh_Hey says:

    I’m so happy for Britney.
Also she needs a prenup stat. Its not even about the conservatorship, its just the smart thing to do with a previous divorce under her belt. She’s just getting out from under one man in her family controlling her, she doesn’t need another one. If Sam is really her “forever” he’d get the why behind it.

It doesn’t even need to be a stingy prenup either – she just needs to protect herself, her assets, and her legal freedoms by saying you get x and you don’t get y.

    • Becks1 says:

Yeah, a prenup is definitely smart in her situation, and that’s not a commentary on whether the relationship is going to last. She has significant assets, she has a complicated legal history, she has two children from a previous marriage – a prenup is the smart move here and Sam should understand that.

    • Kate says:

He wrote the 💯 emoji under octavias comment so seems like he is on board with a prenup. I hope this means she’s getting more and more of her life back.

    • Kate says:

He wrote the 💯 emoji under octavias comment so seems like he is on board with a prenup. I hope this means she’s getting more and more of her life back.

    • BothSidesNow says:

@ Oh_Hey, I am happy for her too!!! I don’t listen to her music but I am very empathetic to her life and how she has been treated all these years by her POS father and Federline. This guy seems like a pretty decent guy and he is apparently on board with a pre-nup.

I hope that Britney continues on her path of taking care of her self, as she seems eager and willing to do so as she want to keep Ms. Montgomery on board as well. Britney knows she still needs guidance and she plans to keep that going as long as she needs it.

    • schmootc says:

Honestly, I think prenups are smart for anyone who has any kind of property or if you might have children, etc. They’re not just for rich people – they make things easier in case of divorce no matter who you are. Less arguing!

And I wish all the best to her. This seems to be what she wants and this guy seems way better than KFed. That guy is just skeevy.

  6. Tom says:

We’re watching you, Sam. Be good to her.

  7. CROOKSNNANNIES says:

I love her ring! It’s such a classic. It’s not ostentatious and very classy.

  8. Dottie says:

I’ve watched her grow up & I hope she finally finds happiness. I hope this guy really loves HER and protects HER. I pray that she indeed does take care of her health by taking her appropriate meds. But I’ll bet there are those of us out here who know from painful personal experience that sometimes individuals with mental illness decide “Oh, I feel great so I don’t need to take drugs!” We’ve seen the slippery slope to anguish and madness. I can only wish the woman good things and hope this man really does want the best for her.

  9. girl_ninja says:

Lovely ring. I hope that she gets the REAL help and is happy with Sam. I also hope that she has a prenuptial agreement drawn up. It’s the sensible thing to do.

  10. Joy says:

So on the one hand, I think her conservatorship was WAY too strict and wildly overdone. On the other hand. I do think that she is generally unstable, and she will forever need someone to assist her with business, $, and to insure she doesn’t lose every dime to a scammer.

    • Noki says:

Do you think she was always unstable or that it manisfested over time? I think she went a little crazy with street drugs in 2007 but over time the force fed concoction of prescribed drugs they gave her definitely affected her.

      • Joy says:

I think she is a person with a very average IQ and below average coping skills that was thrust into EXTRAORDINARY circumstances that even the most well adjusted person would struggle to navigate. As for her setting things up before she got the conservatorship, we have to remember that she did have staff and not all of them were bad people. I am sure they had a hand in any positive moves she made. She is someone who admitted in open court she didn’t even know she had the power to sue her dad to regain control. She was very controlled and they took advantage of her terribly. She needs help not a person to keep her in a cage.

    • SKF says:

Interestingly she was savvy enough to set up a trust for herself before the conservatorship – which a lot of seemingly smart and stable wealthy people are not savvy enough to do. I don’t understand this paternalistic tone people take with her. So many people live day-to-day with mental illness without being unpersoned by the courts. She has been stripped of her human rights. Even if she makes some mistakes, it should be her right to do so. And there are loads of ways she can get help with finances and management and even health that do not involve being unpersoned.

      • Kacy says:

Also, friends have stated that they saw family dosing her with drugs without her knowledge. While I am sure that she has things she needs to work on, I think they intentionally made her look crazy so they could ride the gravy train like they did when she was a minor.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“she was savvy enough to set up a trust for herself before the conservatorship – which a lot of seemingly smart and stable wealthy people are not savvy enough to do.”

She’s had business management since she became wealthy. It doesn’t make her “savvy”. Let’s not get carried away here.

      • Golly Gee says:

She was also smart enough to use bitcoin before it was even a thing as a way to evade her father’s control over her finances — that certainly wasn’t with the help of her business management! She called the sheriffs office the night before her June 24 hearing to report conservatorship abuse so there would be a record in case the court tried to seal her testimony. She’s not stupid. I think she may be emotionally stunted which probably has more to do with the fact that she hasn’t been allowed to go through the normal process of growing up by developing the muscles necessary to be an independent adult. She hasn’t been allowed to make decisions or make choices, so she hasn’t had the chance to learn through trial and error.
I think keeping Jodi on is a smart move because it will allow her to gradually move towards independence with someone who already knows her history and who she is familiar with. Her father is hoping that by abruptly ending the conservatorship she will flounder and let him take control again which will also serve to restore his public credibility. Jodi is a snake, but there are too many eyes on the situation for her to take advantage so I hope she will do right by Britney.

  11. Chisey says:

Im glad she’s getting to make decisions! But I agree a million times – GET A PRENUP. She has been let down by the people you care about so many times, please let her take the one important lesson that’s hiding in all the garbage she’s been through and TAKE CARE OF HERSELF instead of trusting people to treat her right this time. Definitely crossing my fingers this time.

  12. Case says:

I’m happy for her. I hope he has pure intentions and will treat her well.

  13. reef says:

Admittedly I don’t follow them too closely, but whenever he’s mentioned it’s never bc of any scum bag shenanigans. I like him. He makes her really happy and seems like a good dude. That said, I hope her prenup is ironclad.

  14. ThEHufflepuffLizLemon says:

He commented that they are getting a pre-nup, and seemed perfectly fine with it, so at least she will have protection. I’m also thrilled that Jodi Montgomery is staying on, seems like there’s a lot of safety there, and Britney trusts her implicitly.

    • schmootc says:

It is good to hear that she wants Jodi M to stay on – clearly she wants/needs help with some things and having a person she trusts to lend a hand isn’t bad when she has control of the basics of her life back again. Having someone around who can provide a neutral point of view is a plus in a lot of situations and clearly so when you’ve fallen prey to opportunists before.

  15. manda says:

I wondered if maybe she paid for the ring. I am assuming there will be a prenup! I mean, if she keeps this Jodi lady on, hopefully she’ll encourage it.

    • molly says:

Of course she paid for the ring. I just wish she would have thrown in a few bucks to fix that 10th nail that popped off before she took a bunch of pictures with it.

These new lawyers won’t let her get married without a massive prenup, but having a kid will make things very complicated down the road.

  16. AmelieOriginal says:

This is good news in terms of it seems Britney’s conservatorship is moving in the right direction. They wouldn’t have gotten engaged if they didn’t believe the restrictions would start lifting and Britney would start to be able to make her own decisions.

Now do I believe Sam is a stand up person and the right person for her? I’m not sure, they’ve been together for 5 years which I believe is her longest relationship to date and he’s put up with the restrictions of the conservatorship when most men would have run away. She’s dated a few guys while being under conservatorship but Sam has stuck around the longest. I hope it works out for her, she deserves it after living like a prisoner for so long.

  17. MissMarirose says:

I like the ring. It’s simple and classic.
You really don’t see a solitaire diamond engagement ring anymore. There’s always a bunch of tiny stones around the band itself, or other stones situated on the side, or it’s some massive colored diamond.

  18. Mimi says:

Happy for her. But also LISTEN TO OCTAVIA

  19. LA says:

I’m so grossed out that people are immediately so mean about this (not just here, but on Insta as well). She deserves to be happy. He makes her happy.

  20. USAF retired says:

I don’t get gold digger vibes from him.
He’s agreed to a prenup. He is employed.
He graduated college in The US although he and his family came here from Iran
    when he was a kid.
    Reportedly, he’s worth 10-15 million.
    Beats hell out of Federline.
    I’m hopeful!

    • Murphy says:

Yeah I think people are judging him harshly b/c he reminds us of Sam Lutfi. Let’s Britney live a little, Jodi will protect her purse.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Yeah – not sure if he still model’s but he runs his own personal training businesses. I think his family were well off as well.

      • USAF retired says:

I kind of get the impression his money might be family money but HIS money from his family, you know, inherited or granted.
It’s said he’s a very popular fitness trainer.
He wants to act; it’s California.
Also, so what if she prefers he be an at-home husband, companion, maybe dad if he’s okay with that?
Since the ‘vid came along, lots of men are working from home and doing more of the childcare, home care, cooking and such.
I wish I’d had that option during my first career. Life would have been easier and more enjoyable.
One other thing, lots of us had “starter” marriages in our 20s. She’s older now and seems to be wiser. Maybe this guy will help with her mental health rather than hurt. That would be a change.

  21. Pocket Litter says:

What I about his girlfriend? Does she expect him to get a prenup? Who’s going to support her now? Will Britt Britt continue to pay his salary? I hope for the best for her, but this guy isn’t it.

  22. Leskat says:

I’m very happy that Britney has freedom from her father’s control and that she can have input on her decisions. But c’mon, everyone, are we all going to ignore the fact that Britney is mentally unwell. She has an illness, she isn’t all there. Posting multiple videos of her just twirling, captions that don’t make sense or would make sense for a preteen and a smile that hasn’t reached her eyes for about 10 years now. She shouldn’t be getting married. She still needs help and supervision, proper medication and therapy. Definitely not underneath her grifter of a dad’s authority but she doesn’t appear to be a well adjusted adult who can be in charge of her own life totally. Come for me all you want, but she isn’t well.

    • Kacy says:

There are a lot of people facing similar issues as she is that didn’t truly get better until they found love. Virginia Guthrie comes to mind. She got away from Epstein by meeting her husband in Thailand.

I grew up with no one in my corner, and I’m getting better, but it’s incredibly difficulty to go it alone. He seems like an emotionally supportive person. My hope is that he helps her heal.

As far as the conservatorship goes, right now, she’s only asking that Jamie be removed. She’s okay with Jodi.

      • Lionel says:

What? Virginia Guiffre doesn’t have a psychiatric illness, to my knowledge.

      • Kacy says:

We don’t actually know that Britney has one either. They checked dementia on the conservatorship papers. Britney’s behavior is explainable within cPTSD, and do you really think Virginia made it out without depression or PTSD which are both psychiatric illnesses?

  23. Delphine says:

Congratulations to them both. I have nothing but hope for Britney and wish them the best.

  24. Lionel says:

Well, if they’re happy then I’m happy, and I certainly wish them the best. I don’t follow her closely but I have to say that her IG posts (from what I’ve seen) do not suggest psychiatric stability. Does that mean she needs to be conserved? I don’t know, I’m not her psychiatrist. And being conserved doesn’t necessarily mean she can’t fall in love and get married. And if she does qualify for conservatorship then I’d argue that from what we’ve seen Kanye West does too. But all this celebration of her “freedom” from oversight gives me pause.

    • Leskat says:

This is my concern too (and I commented so above)! She isn’t well, at all. It doesn’t take a medical professional to tell that she isn’t fully there. She needs supervision and help of professionals, now more than ever. I’m happy she can move on, but I don’t think she is the fully functioning adult some people think. She needs help still.

    • Golly Gee says:

“Does that mean she needs to be conserved? I don’t know I’m not her psychiatrist.“
Do yourself a favor and read up about conservatorships and when they are necessary. Mental illness does not require conservatorship. She does not have dementia which is what was claimed and the reason she has been under a permanent conservatorship. Mental illness sometimes requires a temporary conservatorship until the person is stabilized, but that is not what this is. It’s been 13 years and she clearly doesn’t have dementia. If anything, living under the intense control that she has been under has undermined her mental health not helped it. I’m sick of this concern trolling. It is not an either or situation ie. conservatorship versus zero support, and that is not what most people are celebrating. Most people just want what’s best for her and for her to be happy, which will definitely include personal and financial support. She has made it clear that she’s very unhappy under the conservatorship and there are much healthier, less draconian forms of support.

      • Lionel says:

@Golly Gee, Do YOURSELF a favor and read up on LPS conservatorship in the state of California. While you’re at it, read up on the difference between conservatorship of person and conservatorship of estate before you make aggressively ignorant comments to strangers on message boards. As someone who actually has the power to conserve people with severe mental illness, I guarantee I know more about it than you do.

      • Goldie says:

Britney is not under an LPS conservatorship, though. She has a probate conservatorship, which is typically used for people with dementia, traumatic brain injuries etc. It seems highly inappropriate in her case.

      • Golly Gee says:

@Lionel, as Goldie says Britney is under a probate conservatorship. So if this is your business and you don’t know that based on my reference to dementia and permanent conservatorship, the ignorance is yours not mine.
Both her person and her finances are conserved, so every aspect of her life is controlled and there is a vested interest for those involved in continuing particularly the financial conservatorship. One of her former financial conservators, Andrew Wallet even referred to it as an experimental “hybrid business model“. Yes, really.
Not only that, but a capacity declaration was never filed in her case. That was discovered in Judge Penny’s notes available through the probate court. And yet this was never questioned or rectified. Throughout this conservatorship she has been able to work continuously— singing and choreographing her own complicated dance numbers.
That is not to say there are not legitimate conservatorships, but the one Britney is under is not.
My comment sounds aggressive because I HAVE followed this case, researched it and found out about others victims who don’t garner the attention that Britney does. The light being shone on her case is uncovering the abuse and lack of recourse for those under conservatorship which seems to be rampant in this cosy system. The injustices being inflicted on victims of a broken and lucrative system have been detailed by human rights advocates and legal experts in the field. What has been uncovered is outrageous and infuriating, so reading hot takes like yours and other similar comments in posts about Britney, gets my blood boiling. Having the ability to conserve someone as you do, allows you the unique opportunity to monitor and help reform the system to make it more humane, if you are not involved in doing so already.

      • Lionel says:

I apologize, I was misinformed. I had been told that BS was under BOTH an LPS and probate conservatorship. (And perhaps that’s still the case, with the probate case taking precedence due to her substantial assets and the LPS filings shielded due to confidentiality statutes?) The fact is that LPS conservatorships are intended to prevent a psychiatrically ill “patient” from harming themselves or others, but LPS conservatorships don’t protect the conservatee’s assets. In the real world most individuals who qualify for LPS conservatorship don’t have much in the way of assets. There’s no precedent for protecting a multimillionaire celebrity from a) causing harm to themselves or others AND b) blowing through a fortune in a way that no reasonable person would conclude they would have done if not acutely ill. (Perhaps this is easier to frame as financially neglecting their children.)

So, admittedly generous interpretation here, I can see how merging a probate conservatorship with LPS may have seemed like a good idea at the time. In 2007-8 the evidence suggests that BS did indeed qualify for an LPS conservatorship, as she was perhaps at risk of harming her children physically and/or financially. My error was in assuming that LPS powers, subject to annual review, had been transferred to BS’s father as the conservator in addition to probate powers, with the probate powers contingent on LPS conservatorship. It appears that I was wrong, and again I sincerely apologize, I’m not an expert on this case. If LPS powers were not under annual review, then I agree there has been an egregious miscarriage of justice.

I also have grave reservations about family members serving as either probate or LPS conservators, and the ease with which family conservators can renew LPS conservatorships. That’s a discussion for another time. I only mention it because I, unfortunately, see how it happens. I agree that, objectively, anyone who can preform nightly at the level that BS did during her Vegas residency does NOT meet criteria for LPS conservatorship. But I don’t know the details, which is why I’d defer to her psychiatrist.

Now, all that said, psychiatrists weigh in on both LPS and probate conservatorships. While I realize that nobody has a crystal ball, I value their educated opinions, and I maintain that BS’s social media posts do not suggest psychiatric stability. Sure, perhaps BS’s posts have been manipulated by her overlords to make her seem “crazy” to the public. If that’s the case it is equally egregious, but time will tell. It’s also possible that BS is maybe a little extra, contrived or otherwise, but fully competent to take care of herself. I couldn’t possibly know. And that’s why I would defer any opinion as to her need for oversight to her actual psychiatrist, who assumedly has evaluated her in person. I stand by that assertion.

@GollyGee, seems like we both get hot and bothered about misinformation. I like that! We’d probably get along IRL. Cheers!

The following document might interest you. It was filed by Lisa MacCarley, an attorney who founded/runs Betty’s Hope, an organization committed to reforming the probate court system.

It points out all the ways Britney‘s conservatorship is illegitimate and therefore should be terminated. It highlights at the very least the incompetence of everyone involved from the conservators to the lawyers to the judge. While I agree it should be terminated, I worry that terminating it before a forensic accounting investigation has been completed will make that investigation more difficult because it will have to be taken up in another court. So many people need to be held accountable for what they have done to her, both financially and personally. She will be stigmatized for the rest of her life and all of her actions will be scrutinized with prejudice.

Many if not most of her IG posts are not made by her. Go back and look at some of the ones of her dancing from months ago. Notice that the temp and everything else is sped up?? That’s been done to make her appear manic – don’t believe everything you see; especially about Britney. The cruelty her father has inflicted on her is horrifying – it would cause even the strongest of the strong to break. If anyone needs to be in a conservatorship it’s her father – he alcohol addled brain is putting those around him in danger and he needs 24-7 supervision.

I’m very happy for her and Sam seems like a decent guy.

Regardless of her mental health, she should be allowed to freely live her life, mistakes and all. Many people live daily with mental illness without the constraints of a conservatorship. The only reason she was placed on one is because she’s a woman, has a lot of money, and it served the people she made money for – all pure control! Why has there never been talk of Kanye having one? Because he’s a man. Period.

Let her live her life and be happy. I wish her all the very best, she’s earned it.

I hope she gets the chance to be truly happy.

Everyone should have a pre-nup. Decide how to treat each other while you still love each other.

I’m pretty sure he’s gotten the memo that Brit now has a nation of aunties who will be all the way up his butt if he acts up. There’s all of us, but if Octavia Spencer gave me side eye, I’d immediately burst into tears.

My guess is that Britney is a few months pregnant and that a wedding will happen soon.

…..My guesses are usually very, very wrong.
