The Duke & Duchess of Sussex cover Time’s ‘Most Influential People’ issue

US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions hearing “An Update from Federal Officials on Efforts to Combat COVID-19

Well well well. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are one of several covers for Time Magazine’s Most Influential People in the World issue. They were photographed by Pari Dukovic for Time, and I believe this was done at their home in Montecito. Meghan’s HAIR! She’s letting it get so long, it’s amazing. And the way they’re positioned… it’s good. I enjoy it. Not only did they get a cover and blurb written by Jose Andres, but they also wrote a short profile of Nigerian American economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, talking about global vaccinations. Here’s an excerpt of what Andres wrote about them:

Springing into action is not the easy choice for a young duke and duchess who have been blessed through birth and talent, and burned by fame. It would be much safer to enjoy their good fortune and stay silent.

That’s not what Harry and Meghan do, or who they are. They turn compassion into boots on the ground through their Archewell Foundation. They give voice to the voiceless through media production. Hand in hand with nonprofit partners, they take risks to help communities in need—offering mental-health support to Black women and girls in the U.S., and feeding those affected by natural disasters in India and the Caribbean.

In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle.

[From Time]

Love it! And yes, I think this is a good fit, on the “most influential” Time Magazine list. They are legitimately influential. Salt Island still watches their every move and reacts to them constantly and copies their every move too. Meghan and Harry are the first prominent modern royals to leave the royal fold to create their own path, a hybrid path of commerce, fame and service. Love all of it. Happy birthday to Harry.

Salt Island is already freaking out, you guys.

I’m loving the hunter green/olive fits! I suddenly want to go shopping for cozy fall clothes.

    • ThEHufflepuffLizLemon says:

I am obsessed with this color for fall! I have like 15 sweaters/jackets/tops in my carts just waiting…

    • Layla says:

Guess who’s going to suddenly be seen in an olive outift ( or definitely repeat that blazer where she tried to single white female Meghan) or a monochrome outfit

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

You can’t blame the keen one for keening. It’s the only way she can get attention that lasts for more than 5 minutes.

    • VS says:

I love the H in black and Meghan in white picture more……just love it!!!!

    • Seraphina says:

I am with you, this color is my favorite for fall. It’s a gorgeous color even as a nail polish.

    • Gail Hirst says:

LOL Snuffles. Over the weekend I put away my summer stuff and brought out fall and winter. Then I stood back and had to laugh at the amount of green in my wardrobe. Next top colour is navy blue. Splashes of royal blue, black and maroon, but greens are the biggest section (I organize my closet L to R long trousers, tops, bras, then tunics and lastly dresses, each section organized by colour). I have LOTS of green tunics (tunic sweaters, tunics made of bamboo from Blue Sky, and tunic t’s). I love tunics w/leggings.

Megs is dressed in layers. It’s her outer layers I covet 🙂

    • Jaded says:

She looks awesome in those green layers. Last Xmas Mr. Jaded gave me the MOST gorgeous hunter green wool trench coat – I literally wore it around the house over my PJs I loved it so much. I can’t wait for the weather to turn cold so I can wear it again!!

    • DuchessL says:

Hahaha I got her olive jcrew rainjacket she was wearing in Archie’s Chick Inn when she did the Oprah interview lol
      I love it!!

    • Layla says:

The Hunter green pleated trousers are Victoria Beckham.

    • SpankyB says:

I love the olive greens they’re both in but I’ve been wearing predominantly olive green for years, makes my hazel eyes look green. Now people are going to think I’m jumping on the olive trend when, in fact, I’m the one who started it. (that last part was a joke)

    • L4frimaire says:

Loving the autumnal colors. Green looks good on both of them. I really like that picture of them walking.

    • Maria says:

I love all shades of deep green!

    • The Recluse says:

Autumn is the only time that I am tempted to buy clothing.

  2. Case says:

As Alexis Rose would say, LOVE THIS FOR THEM.

Also, can I just say I adore that on the cover they swapped positions from how most husband-wife duos would be posed?

    • Kelsey says:

Harry has NEVER had a problem letting his wife get the shine and that’s what set him apart from his hater ass relatives from the jump.

Yes sis/(bro? I don’t like to assume haha)- LOVE this for them.

      • Lorelei says:

@Kelsey so many people seem to view it as it making it look like Harry is the “weaker” partner or some nonsense, when in reality, I think it shows he’s confident enough with himself and secure enough in his relationship that he’s happy to let Meghan take the spotlight sometimes. He’s always looked incredibly proud of her— never threatened.

But ignorant people see it and think it makes him a “beta bro” — I wanted to make sure I was using the word beta correctly so I googled it, and yup, I think this is what a lot of…unenlightened people think when they look at Harry, and particularly his pose in that photo: “Beta is a slang insult for or describing a man who is seen as passive, subservient, weak, and effeminate.”

Which I think is nonsensical; I see exactly the opposite. Harry is more of a man than his father or his brother ever have been, imo.

      • Cessily says:

        @lorelei
I agree the perception is nonsensical, I think they want to put him into the “beta bro” stereotype you mentioned but nothing says Alpha protector like a man who leaves his archaic family and country to protect his wife and save his young family. The people that try to deflect from that have yet to realize that it isn’t working.

      • BeanieBean says:

Did you notice the Telegraph insta? They put ‘equal’ in quotations, said they were styled by ‘Hollywood’ stylists, and likened them to Britney & Dolly & Naomi O, as though that were a bad thing.

    • sunny says:

Exactly! I love this for them. They are using their platform in a really smart way and shallowly, let’s talk about how gorgeous they both look in this shoot.

      Best revenge is living well.

    • FilmTurtle says:

Yeah, that pose immediately stands out, with H standing behind M, one hand on her shoulder, showing off the significance (I’m assuming) of the bracelet.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ FilmTurtle, I interpreted the positioning of Harry and Meghan, as Harry is showing the world that he is supporting her fully and nothing will change that nor will Harry abandon his stance of always supporting her in their marriage, family and their work. Harry is the epitome of a man secure in his life as he has chosen that no matter what, Meghan comes first, as well as the children. Harry and Meghan have necessary qualities and commitment to make their marriage work, they are both each other’s greatest confidante and support system.
The photo of the fabulous green ensemble, the way that Harry and Meghan look at each other is a clear display of unconventional love, admiration, appreciation and most importantly, that what they have is the definition of real, honest love based on a solid foundation of these qualities, they clearly are both in this marriage and relationship that will stand the test of time, no matter what comes their way.

I am so incredibly happy that Harry and Meghan are being featured as they have made an enormous impact in just two years. Harry and Meghan have an understanding and agreement that as each day passes, they will not lose each other with devotion to make the world a better place for all of us, but most importantly to those who desperately need it and are struggling for exposure and action.

        ❤️❤️❤️❤️

      • anotherlily says:

He appears to be perched on the wall rather than standing. He’s considerably taller than Meghan so this is a way of bringing their heads side by side.

      • FilmTurtle says:

@BothSidesNow Agree fully with your take. And it’s fascinating how so many (media and audience) find it so threatening. (Also, I didn’t notice until later that he is sitting on the low wall.)

    • Myra says:

This is what I love about them. You can tell that this is a partnership of equals and that Harry is really supportive of his wife.

    • swirlmamad says:

I live for that cover. It so perfectly encapsulates them as a couple. Just love these two!

  3. Here4Tea says:

    Here for it!
    Cue the ruptured spleens.

    • Here4Tea says:

Hold on, there is no mention of their bathrooms?

    • Eurydice says:

Yes, the DM calls the cover “heavily air-brushed” and the blurb by Andres “gushing” and sycophantic. They can call it whatever they want – the fact is that there they are, two of the 100 most influential. This is the last thing the RF expected.

      • Lorelei says:

Lmfao, if the Fail wants to talk “gushing and sycophantic,” they can start with Wooton’s creepily fawning pieces about Elegant Bill that they themselves publish.

      • Becks1 says:

If we’re going to talk about airbrushing lets talk about what they do to Kate sometimes (when they’re feeling nice)

      • Seraphina says:

I am content like I just ate a piece of cake right imagining the RF’s reaction to them being named by Time.

      • swirlmamad says:

THey’ll be spluttering and bellowing to no avail….no one gives an F what they think anymore. They just look and sound jealous and utterly pathetic. The salty British Media is completely irrelevant in regards to Harry, Meghan, and their many accomplishments.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

@Seraphina..LOL. That is a good level of contentedness! Every year Time writes about how they decide the list.
        https://time.com/6097384/how-we-chose-time100-2021/

        This was particularly enjoyable..

“Their actions this year not only prompted deep re-appraisals of British society and the monarchy’s place within it, but have also catalyzed essential conversations on topics from mental health to misinformation.”

Congratulations to the Duke & Duchess of Sussex! They look great.

      • Lorelei says:

@AGreatReckoning, thanks for posting— I love that quote! Probably causing lots of ill courtiers today, lol.

      • Lizzie says:

Drives home just how irrelevant the dm opinions are.

      • RoyalBlue says:

So wait, the man who wants to save the planet and the creator of the 5 questions were not on the list? that has got to sting.

    • Debbie says:

Those spleens? They have ruptured in that Telegraph summary. Are there NO respectable newspapers in England? The snideness just drips from that writing, “Hollywood” “photo shoot” etc. You would think that a newspaper would know it’s customary to get photos when a person or event is being featured. It’s not rocket science. These people are pathetic.

      • Lorelei says:

They talk about anything “Hollywood” so derisively, then they wonder why Cathy and Elegant Bill aren’t applauded at the BAFTAs…

      • L4frimaire says:

Did the expect an iPhone pic in their sweats? Everyone featured in that magazine is styled and professionally photographed. Obviously they ignored the other 99 people/ groups featured.

  4. Becks1 says:

LOLOL at that Telegraph IG post. Stay mad.

They look fantastic here, and like one of the world’s biggest power couples. No wonder the Salty Isle is so….salty .

    • Harper says:

Seriously. The Telegraph reducing the honor to a mere photo shoot. And the laughable quote marks around equal partners.

      • Layla says:

They’re desperate to convince themselves at this point.

Well you know who else isn’t listed as a “leader” or even mentioned for that matter? Prince Elegant of Baldingham and Duchess Single white female

But hey, at least the Telegraph recognised that they think Meghan and Harry qualify under the “leaders” section

      • BayTampaBay says:

The Sussexes have become a cottage industry serving the haters in the UK. The Telegraph will continue to run negative articles on the Sussexes because haters who never buy the paywalled Telegraph will buy this daily edition to read a negative story about Meghan & Harry.

      • Amy Too says:

Layla, right. Oooooo good burn, Telegraph, pointing out they qualify as this year’s most influential people in multiple categories. You really told them!

    • Nic919 says:

Look at that third photo and then look at the awkward 10th anniversary photo and the difference is stark.

Anyway the saltiness has already started. This cover will overshadow everything else today, despite someone scheduling her first event on Harry’s birthday. Oh well.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

LOL! I am here for the pettiness. This week has been glorious, with the paedo prince finally answering to a court of law, the FK’s alleged bribe-taking shenanigans splashed all over the front pages and the people’s prince being one of the most influential in the world.

    • L4frimaire says:

Dang the Telegraph is feeling bitter. So Hollywood to be on a magazine cover. Heard they were holding the news waiting to see what would happen for Harry’s birthday. Here it is.

    • L84Tea says:

As I learned from Twitter to say, they can go touch grass!

      • Lorelei says:

@L84TEA that’s so funny, I recently heard the same thing on some podcast, lol. And they really fcking DO need to go outside and touch some grass…they’re unhealthily obsessed.

  5. mariahlee says:

I looooove this. Meghan is glowing, and Harry looks so good. I’m obsessed. The black and white contrast and him holding her giving “imma stick beside her” energy on the cover. And then the coordinating green and smizes in the other power couple photo! Love.

    • L4frimaire says:

Now I’m going to have to get Time magazine. I was hoping we’d get a podcast but this will do since they look so good.

  6. The Duchess says:

They are glowing! We love to see it.

  7. Lorelei says:

I could not love this more. Not only is it well-deserved for Harry and and Meghan, but we have the added satisfaction of knowing that the elegant brother is angrily punching holes through walls right now. 🥰

  8. Selene says:

Piers is gonna have an embolism. I bet he’s breaking his fingers right now writing that opinion piece for the DM.

    • Layla says:

Didn’t you hear how he “injured himself” after seeing Harry’s appearance at the GQ awards? He was so mad that he wanted to make a big show about leaving the place and probably ended up banging into a wall or something

    • Lorelei says:

This might finally be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for Piers, giving him a genuine rage stroke.
(My apologies to camels for even putting them in the same sentence as that cretin)

Thoughts and prayers for Piers at this difficult time

      • L4frimaire says:

Pissy Piers can rant all he wants, but they are there, front and center. Side note but after seeing Simone Biles testimony before Congress today regarding her abuse, Morgan needs to slink under a jagged rock for attacking her the way he did. Jerk.

  9. Noki says:

Bwahaha! They honestly thought no one could leave the Firm and be ok on their own. I dont blame them ,this is new. Look at Wallis and Edward they were forever ever at their Mercy and Fergie still catching any scraps they throw her way. They have shown it can be done,i would be worried if i was the firm.

    • Liz version 700 says:

They wanted H&M to be like Edward and Wallis, but that was a different era and they were very different people. Harry and Meghan are extremely hard working and are never going to sit around waiting for Royal handouts. They earned this magazine cover and I hope their haters are miserable. And after all of Kate’s efforts to outshine H&M the timing is delicious.

      • Lorelei says:

@Liz as long as all of the criticism is about the photos — and all of the criticisms I’ve seen have been solely about the photos, the poses, the amount of Photoshop, etc. — it allows them to skirt around the real issue: that Bill & Cathy would never even be *considered* for inclusion on a list like this. If all they do is tear apart the photos, they don’t have to acknowledge that uncomfortable little truth. IMO.

    • Kaykay says:

      Good point!
It must feel so liberating for them!

  10. lanne says:

Going to be fun watching the freakout on Salty Aisle. Cue the Lamebridges pictured walking in Sherwood forest or wherever in 3,2,1….

The howls and tantrums from the Incandescent One should light up the sky. Harry and Meghan are stars on the rise, and there isn’t a damn thing the royals can do about it. If only they had agreed to the half-in/half out. (But for the Sussexes sake, I’m glad they didn’t. But all the great work done by the Sussexes is no longer benefiting the royal family, which is idiotic on their part. No organization should ditch its strongest ambassadors.)

    • Becks1 says:

It makes me wonder if the royals had an idea this was going to be released today and that was the point of scheduling Kate’s event today (that and Harry’s birthday?)

      • Lorelei says:

        “Walking in Sherwood Forest” 😭

@Becks I didn’t even know that Kate had an event today. She might be the incandescent one today.

    • Harper says:

Kate’s Coming Out of Hiding Party today has just been ruined.

      • Lorelei says:

It sure has! She’s probably fuming.

Maybe if her appearances weren’t so ridiculously INFREQUENT, she wouldn’t end up in this position…

      • L84Tea says:

Cue the sad trombones. womp womp womp…

      • MsIam says:

How dare Harry have a birthday today! The nerve!

      • RedWeatherTiger says:

Harry’s birthday is the only thing the Queen had that was all her own! 😀

      • MerryGirl says:

Serves her right. They used to howl about Harry or Meghan scheduling events that clashed with the Senior Royals, now look at her. She’s farse and out of place thinking she could compete with the Sussexes on Harry’s birthday of all days.

    • Lady D says:

@lanne, I’m so enjoying the schadenfreude associated with the RF saying no to the half in – half out deal. It makes me laugh every time I think about it. I also hope someone keeps pointing that out to William.

      • Harper says:

This is the end result of their FFK’s decision-making. It’s exactly why the powers that be in Britain flatter William and then ask him to do their bidding. The FFK is kind of a dum dum.

      • GRUEY says:

@lady d the schadenfreude is part of my love for this ongoing saga. I can’t feel schadenfreude at right wingers dying of covid; it just makes me sad and very afraid for my country. This? Two rich white jackholes reaping the rewards of their shallowness and stupidity? Yeah baby!!

  11. Sofia says:

Oof they look so hot. I love the olive green theme.

  12. Royalwatcher says:

A well deserved honor and Meghan and Harry look amazing! Happy, connected, relaxed, confident, and in love.

Can’t wait for incandescent heads to explode all over salty island…

  13. truthSF says:

Love that pic of them in all green! Beautiful scenery!😍 And Happy Birthday Hazz!!

  14. think2x says:

It’s a nope for me. The pictures are awfully stylized. I think Simone Biles would have been a better and more important choice.

    • Becks1 says:

There’s a whole list. It’s not just harry and meghan.

    • GuestWho says:

I believe she was also chosen.

    • Snuffles says:

Simone is one of the covers. Time has published multiple covers, including Simone and the Sussex’s.

    • Amy Bee says:

@think2x: I’m loving the salty comments. LOL

    • VS says:

jeez………many covers but this is the one that “deranges” you…..you people really need to know that google is “free”

    • Fanciful says:

There are plenty of different views, you were simply corrected for being wrong. And then you ruptured your spleen and immediately over-reacted.

    • WithTheAmerican says:

Wrong wrong and wrong again try harder!

    • Harry says:

Nope for me too. Too stylized. Is she trying to look like she wears the pants in the family and/or model steve jobs with the turtleneck. And, green for the environment. Dress choices are never random in this world.

      • Harper says:

Too stylized must be the official talking point from Kensington Palace.

      • Jaded says:

Neither are baseless comment choices like yours.

      • Merricat says:

        That’s an amazingly sexist comment.

      • Becks1 says:

@Harper – good catch. You can always tell bc the criticism is all the same.

      • GuestWho says:

@Harper. Bots clearly got their script this morning.

      • GRUEY says:

What kind of geriatric misogynist says “wear the pants”???

      • Janice Hill says:

Is there something wrong with a woman wearing pants? Or wearing the pants, for that matter? If Mr. Meghan Markle doesn’t mind, it’s none of you business.

      • Jasper says:

This was just spoofing what the BM would say, right? At least I hope so.

      • Over it says:

Ohhh such anger, such bitterness. Why you mad? Fix your face ain’t Meghan fault her husband Harry don’t want you.

      • Lorelei says:

@Harry, what exactly do you mean by “too stylized?” It’s a photo shoot for a magazine cover…they all tend to be “stylized.”

@Janice, the adults are talking. Take the name-calling someplace else, for god’s sake.

        @Debbie, I also enjoyed, “it’s a nope from me” 😂

      • Harry says:

I meant by, too stylized, that the photos look stiff and very airbrushed. They are attractive people and their personalities don’t show through. I also meant, by wearing the pants comment, a few things. But, this forum seems to overtly criticize anything that doesn’t follow in line with everyone else. The DM comments are criticized but the comments here are also harsh and narrow at times.

      • Nyro says:

“Wearing the pants”. Girl please. You people and these tired sexist gender roles. If a man is emasculated because he’s standing behind his wife in a photo, he ain’t much of a man. I know you all admire Waity Kate because she’s a weak woman who keeps her head down, her mouth shut, and her ambitions nonexistent so that her equally weak husband can feel like a Big Man but that shit is not what’s poppin’ in 2021. It just makes them weak and irrelevant and like something out of 1945. Dusty and stale, which is why the crown is dying while modern harry and Meghan grow stronger and more influential by the day.

      • WithTheAmerican says:

How devastating for the Prince and Duchess. A random red piller on the Internet doesn’t think the woman should be wearing pants.

      • nina says:

@ Harry. So? This is a pro Harry and Meghan sight. If you want pro PWT and Keen comments I’m sure there are other sites you can visit.

    • Haylie says:

I’m sure Time Magazine will get right in your revision suggestions.

    • Debbie says:

How cute, did you all hear that? It’s “a nope” for this creature. Good thing they were consulted! Get lost. Yeah, you care so much about Simone Biles that focused only only on Harry & Meg and overlooked Simone Biles. Go take a seat.

      • VS says:

Thank you so much Debbie….you said it much better than I did above! this poster cares so much about Simone that she/he misses Simone’s cover

    • L4frimaire says:

Simone Biles does have a cover. There are 7 different covers on the newsstand so you get what you want as well.

  15. Amy Bee says:

The royalists are mad and I love it. Harry and Meghan look really good. Anybody still believing that Harry regrets leaving the Royal Family are delusional. For this to come out on Harry’s birthday is fantastic.

    • Lady D says:

Seriously? Some people truly believe he regrets his actions? How blind can you be to body language? Everything about his life (minus the relatives) is glowing right now. I’m happy for him and his life right now.

      • JT says:

Hell, just look where they live. Who would would regret that? I’d take a beautiful estate in Montecito over Frogmore any day of the week. Their grounds are gorgeous.

      • Amy Bee says:

@LadyD: The press still believes that he regrets his decision. They tried to push that line after Philip’s funeral.

      • Lady D says:

Where they live is undeniably gorgeous, but I’d take the grounds of Frogmore Cottage in a heartbeat.

      • lanne says:

@Lady D, you’d want to live at Frogmore as Harry or Meghan with the royals and the tabloids peeking in your windows and begrudging you every time you run the heater in the winter or the air conditioner in the summer because “public is paying”? And the ratchets howling “show us your children and let us into your intimate lives!?” Really? Or you’d like it there so long as you could be the “right kind (white kind) of royal”? Just curious?

      • OriginalLala says:

@lanne, jeez people are allowed to like the setting of something that you disagree with. Their home in CA is stunning, Windsor is stunning.

      • Lorelei says:

@LadyD I’ve tried to avoid all of their crap for a while now because it is truly disturbing knowing all of these people are just…living among us (😳), but there were some *extremely elaborate* theories people held that kept them convinced Harry is still a “hostage” and that he’s sending secret signals in an attempt to break free, or whatever. A lot of the Sussex detractors are seriously unwell.

      • nina says:

@Lady D. Nah California all the way, Choices:
Frogmore Cottage, former servants quarters, old had to be renovated, misty, wet, rainy, windy, people frothing at the mouth with hate.
        vs.
California sea breezes, warm sunshine, fresh sun ripened fruit, all the avocados I want to eat and nobody batting an eyelid, no hateful relatives.

      • Lady D says:

Okay my liking of Frogmore is based solely on the grounds of the estates. I grew up in that atmosphere, tall firs everywhere, paths through the trees, little creeks, places to picnic that are quiet and private, 50 different types of birds, bees bears, deer, actual forests. It’s what I know and love, and wouldn’t be happy anywhere else. Living on the ocean would be okay, the sunsets are beautiful, but the beach stays a beach, with little variation the ocean stays looking the same, and it’s usually always warm. The forest changes all the time, creeks come and go, the bird population changes with the seasons, the bears are rarely a problem and you can expect the four seasons to come and go. I know Cali has winters, but winter in a forest is different, and I’m willing to bet, a lot colder. It’s not the cottage itself that draws me to Frogmore. (I also doubt the press would be there for me.)

  16. OriginalLala says:

Meghan looks beautiful as always – Harry’s hair seems, less thin than usual – photoshop? or has he invested in some hair transplants?
(I’m not judging, I’d do it if I was a balding man of means!)

    • Seraphina says:

I hope he did. That would set Willy off even more.

      • Debbie says:

William is doing it. Has been, I’ve noticed, since 2020 now. Those tufts in front are new.

      • Christine says:

I cannot stop laughing at, “Those tufts in front are new.”

Oh, how the Enraged has fallen, we are talking about his new tufts. I have a cramp!

      • Lorelei says:

@Christine after reading your reply, now I can’t stop laughing at the “tufts” comment either 😭

    • Becks1 says:

I think the sides look a little thicker, but the front looks like it was just styled in such a way to make it look fuller. My guess is the view from the back is very different, LOL.

      • L4frimaire says:

Harry’s hair and bald spot is always catfishing us. He knows he’s bald and seems fine with it. Wonder if he’ll go the full JeanLuc Picard one day

    • Snuffles says:

With the right angle and lighting his hair looks fuller. I don’t think he’s done anything.

    • Chaine says:

Photoshop! His hair hasn’t looked that thick and lush in years.

    • Susan says:

I was going to add, while I don’t see photoshop on Meghan, I *do* see a bit of it on Harry, which, the fiery feminist in me kind of loves. (How many times do we see the husband as is and the wife made to look like a Barbie Kardashian?)

    • Elaine Stritch says:

I immediately noticed this, too! I think it’s photoshop.

    • Ginger says:

Every time Harry is seen people think he has grown his hair. He is someone that looks like he has full hair from the front until you see the back. I’m sure he is still balding.

  17. Silver says:

That cover photo is not good. She looks boxey and he looks like he’s hiding behind her grasping for support like she’s his mom. They have so many great shots, why this one

    • Amy Bee says:

      LOL.

    • Nic919 says:

There is a lot of internalized misogyny (or maybe not so internal) in that salty take.

      • Erica says:

It’s possible to adore Prince Harry and Meghan but also give an opinion that a picture of them isn’t good considering how good looking both of them are. It isn’t misogyny to not like a photo. We do that all the time on this site about countless other people.

      • Maria says:

Considering so much of the negative coverage about them describes Harry as being pulled by Meghan’s apronstrings, the idea of snidely declaring it “grasping for support like she’s his mom” is beyond “I don’t like this photo”.

      • Fanciful says:

That comment, It’s not just misogyny, but a play on the Meghan leads Harry by the nose bs that were assaulted with constantly. Meghan doesn’t control him. Sit back down!

      • Nic919 says:

When you say he’s hanging on to her like she’s his mother that’s a misogynistic comment. The photo reverses the usual pose of the male partner being more dominant than the female partner and so to respond with that by saying Harry is as weak as a child is the definition of misogyny.

    • Erica says:

Right? Harry looks photoshopped into the picture. I’m sure so many better pictures were taken of them.

      • Amy Bee says:

        LOL

      • Becks says:

The photoshop is terrible. They look like cartoons!

      • MsIam says:

Lololol! And again, lololol! Harry and Meghan for the win! Again!

      • L4frimaire says:

The cover is fine. A lot of people seem triggered and insecure that Meghan is front and center, like heaven forbid the woman ever take precedence, and her man supports her. I like how they are both looking directly at the camera. They know what’s going to be said. I like the other two pictures more. They are nicely framed by the interior shot, the colors look gorgeous on them. The outside photo is lovely as well. Some people say it’s a throwback to them being in the forest in New Zealand, but the way it’s composed is obviously influenced by Gainsborough’s “ Morning Walk”.

    • Seraphina says:

Maybe they are throwing shade at WIlly and Keen.

      • Seraphina says:

        I think they are –
They made Meghan “boxy” to throw shade at Kate’s trim shape
Her hair is full and in somewhat ringlets – to mimic Kate’s
We can see all her rings – just like Kate shows off “THE RING”
She is wearing white – when Kate wore white to H&M’s wedding
Harry’s hair nooks fuller – when Willy is losing his
And Harry is touching his wife – when in the Anniversary pic Kate is grabbing Wills’

This is glorious. And actually, after taking a closer look, Harry is almost seated on the concrete like structure behind him. And I obviously jest, no way would they use Time’s cover to do this. But it still is funny to me.

      • GRUEY says:

@seraphina I also like the power posing and taking up space (in reality she’s a teeny weeny lady). Take up space ladies!

      • Seraphina says:

@GRUEY, YES. And don’t forget the color play: the yin and yang message.

      • Shawna says:

I think it’s better shade to *not* think of PWT and Duchess Dolittle at all. Boxy…maybe because she’s recently postpartum and doesn’t feel like form-fitting outfits? More likely it’s nothing to do with Kate.

    • MF1 says:

The cover photo is heavily and badly photoshopped. Not well done on Time’s part.

      • Sunshine says:

MFI. No need to be so salty. Lol.

      • Amy Bee says:

        LOL

      • Va Va Kaboom says:

I have to agree with you. Harry’s left leg is missing, the proportions of his right arm are off (does his forearm bend in the middle?), and the overly photoshopped skin and hair are bordering on cartoonish. Meghan looks lovely, but Harry appears to be photoshopped in.

      • GuestWho says:

        @va va kaboom

He is sitting on a wall and his wife is standing in front of his leg – it still exists – and his arm looks perfectly normal.

      • Va Va Kaboom says:

@Guestwho Harry is sitting, Meghan is basically positioned between his legs, and they’re so close he can lean directly against her back. The man is 6’1, his bent left leg would not disappear completely behind her. There is simply not enough room given the position they’re in, some part of his pants would be visible.

      • GuestWho says:

        @va va kaboom

You can literally see the man’s leg between hers.

      • Va Va Kaboom says:

No you can literally see the shadowed wall between her legs.

      • GuestWho says:

I’m not actually going to argue about it, but just say…no. That is his leg. It is where his leg should be. It’s not the same color as a shadow on the wall would be judging by the other shadows on the wall. Why would you insist on a physical impossibility when the answer is so simple and obvious?

      • Larisa says:

        @GuestWho
I actually see the point that Va Va Kaboom is making, no need to be so dismissive. The comments today are something else… Some people are borderline trolling anyone who dared not like the picture.

      • L4frimaire says:

Look at everyone taking out the magnifying glass and studying. It’s not the Zapruder film, and not sure what anyone is hoping or get out of it other than and glance or two. Now everyone is a photographer.

      • Feeshalori says:

Oh, boy, when you’re at that point when you’re analyzing what’s between Meghan’s legs, that’s really bad. This thread has been haywire today!

    • Eurydice says:

It looks to me like he’s sitting down on the stone wall/bench behind her.

      • VIV says:

This was what I couldn’t pinpoint! He looked weird to me and I couldn’t figure out why. His dark clothes made it so I couldn’t immediately tell he was sitting. (Probably some bad phone settings.) I honestly like the picture more now lol

    • Becks1 says:

I think Meghan looks great on the cover and if they touched her up, it was well done -but they definitely photoshopped Harry, his skin is NOT that smooth, lol.

    • Lorelei says:

@Erica of COURSE it’s possible to love Harry and Meghan but dislike a particular picture; obviously that will happen.

But making derisive comments like “grasping for support as if she’s his mom” is offensive on many levels and goes well past simply disliking a photo.

    • ziaaa says:

Boxy? This is her postpartum body….As with her previous pregnancy, Meghan has shown that she likes to lose the baby weight gradually. Can we stop shaming and labelling women who have just delivered their babies a handful of months ago?

The cover actually captures their essence. Harry is sitting to get down to her level (height-wise)….the pose he is assuming is generally reserved for women who get to hold on/hang on to a man’s shoulder whereas Harry despite his looming height is giving Meghan equal space. Instead of towering over her, he is enveloping her, supporting her, and seems to be supporting himself too.

In other news, the joy the photo is giving me and other like-minded people watch the bitter becky’s explode and spew is inexplicable 🙂

      • Eurydice says:

It’s a nice metaphor – I think the practical aspect of getting both of them into the space allowed on the cover might have had something to do with it, too.

But, like you, I’m overjoyed for them that this is what they’ve reached in only 20 months. A Time cover on this side – and on the other, princely sloth and scandals.

      • Harry says:

Boxy, is from the pleats in the trousers. Harry has no pleats. Looks like a symbolic choice to me – salty comment.

    • Erica says:

@Amy Bee, do you have anything else to say other than “LOL”? My god, it’s such an echo chamber in here you guys can’t even handle people not liking a PICTURE.

      • Nic919 says:

If you want to say the photo has too much photoshop that’s a fair comment, but so many of these comments are simply sexist and sometimes LOL is all that is warranted.

      • Amy Bee says:

@Erica: LOL is the best response to your salty tears.

      • Becks1 says:

@Nic – exactly. It’s not the criticism of the picture, its the nature of the criticism – calling Meghan “boxy” and saying that Harry is clinging to her like she’s his mother (that reminds me of the bit from Goblet of Fire about how Harry’s eyes are swimming with the ghosts of his past or whatever.)

If the photoshop is too much, just say that. Making it sound like Harry is clinging to Meghan for dear life is a bit much.

      • Maria says:

That’s not even what’s happening. There are plenty of comments where people are talking about how aspects of the photoshopping etc aren’t great.

      • Lorelei says:

@Erica, plenty of us couldn’t care less if someone “doesn’t like a picture.” What people are offended by here are Silver’s insulting comments, not the fact that she doesn’t love the photo. ffs

      • teecee says:

Commenting negatively on the natural shape* of a woman’s body is misogynistic. A lot of people try to hide that misogyny behind fashion or photography criticism, but thankfully that tactic is not as effective as it used to be.

*I would say even a snide comment about an “unnatural” or surgically enhanced shape is also misogynist, but pop culture hasn’t caught up there yet, unfortunately.

      • Haylie says:

Why are you so bothered by someone’s lol response?

        Too much salt?

    • WithTheAmerican says:

I was just thinking how much I LOVE that she, who just gave birth, didn’t starve herself or photoshop herself into a twig in an act of internalized misogyny.

Nope. Our girl Meghan is HERE and she is powerful. As for Harry, it’s okay for a man to need a woman as much as she needs him. Seriously.

    • Lemons says:

Yeah…the positioning or camera angle is weird. Her proportions from the hair and waist just make her look wide…

That being said, if the photography was on point, I would have loved this cover. I just love her outfit and seeing Harry in all black which is not a typical look for him. Yeah, they’re photoshopped, but Harry is looking FIONE. They could have done a better job with Meghan’s photoshop which makes no sense because she naturally glows!

      • Amy Bee says:

@Lemons: Yeah we heard Meghan was too wide when she returned from maternity leave the last time.

      • Crowned Huntress says:

She gave birth to her 2nd child a little over 3 months ago. If she looks “wide” it’s because she is and that’s fine.

      • Lemons says:

I know you guys want to excuse bad work, but please just admit that bad work was done. It’s not Meghan’s fault. It’s not Harry’s fault. The professionals that are tasked with making them look their best did not do their best work. It’s not a bad job, but I’ve seen better. And at this level, I want to see the best.

If you haven’t been in front or behind a professional camera and if you haven’t done professional photo editing, you may not be the best voice here. Should I also add that Harry’s positioning is not great which leads to Meghan’s awkward positioning? I understand the idea behind it, but the execution could have been better.

      • Becks1 says:

omg can we stop with the “if you aren’t X profession, you don’t have an opinion.” I’m a lawyer and every single person on here has played a lawyer at some point or another.

It’s fine if someone doesn’t like the picture. Some of us do.

      • Nic919 says:

I can see the critique of technical elements, but so much of the commentary is just plain insults. I think the third photo of them under the trees is an excellent photo both in composition and content.

      • Lorelei says:

@Lemons, yeah, Meghan really should have known enough to stay inside and refuse to have any photos taken until you decided she no longer looked “too wide.” How disrespectful of her!

      • WithTheAmerican says:

Lemons, I have been in more professional photo shoots than you have any day of the week. I’ve done Vogue, ffs. I worked on a-list films with Oscar winning cinematographers. I’ve seen high production quality, good lighting, and the best posing.

You’re absolutely desperate here in your attacks. They both look great. They’re both really powerful. It’s stunning. The whole thing is stunning.

      • Bex says:

She just had a baby three months ago. Are you for real with that “wide” comment???

    • s says:

      I agree Silver.
At first I just saw the cropped version that Celebitchy uses in the preview and thought it was a BAD photoshop job.

When I realized it was a crop from an actual, professionally done, photoshoot I was surprised at how bad it looked — at first I thought they photoshopped Harry to be her height but I now realize he is slightly seated so I remove that but still I think the framing is awkward.

I do think the olive ones look way better. But the cover — to each their own.

    • Jaded says:

@Silver, you’ve tried this tack numerous times and the blow-back should have been sufficient warning that you’ll not get far on this site by making such body-shaming comments. And no, Harry is not hiding behind her like she’s his mom, it’s a charming and supportive position because that’s what they do — they support each other. It’s called love. You seem to have forgotten Harry fought in Afghanistan under very dangerous conditions — he doesn’t need to hide behind anyone.

      • Christine says:

It feels to me like he is intentionally saying, “my wife does not walk two steps behind me, under any circumstances”.

      • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

And, he’s taller and larger than she is. Just not sense-making for him to be in front, blocking her out completely. It’s a no-brainer for her to be in front. That she’s taking that space in such a powerful way is just a bonus.

    • Demi says:

I like H&M but I agree with Silver the pictures could be better pictures should convey a message and people can interpret them in the best way they understand.. Their position here is weird there’s no need to vilify someone for the way they interpret the message maybe some people associate this position with parentchild rather than a couple.. I think their position isn’t great here I liked the previous times cover and the olive one

      • BnlurNforever says:

Saying sexist things should always be vilified by decent people. There are ways to say you don’t like something without being sexist and misogynist and when one is being so, they need to be called out and anyone defending them needs to be told they’re supporting sexism.

    • Janice Hill says:

Boxy pants? Perhaps you don’t remember loose fitting, pleated, cropped pants in the 80s. Allow me to explain. They do make a person look wider than skinny jeans. You are just not used to seeing her in that style. Are you thinking she has gained weight? Allow me to explain. She had a baby a few months ago, and it’s healthy for a woman to lose baby weight gradually because weight loss can affect milk production. Being able to breast feed is more important than weight loss.

    • Ginger says:

You think Meghan looks “boxy”? Do you realize she gave birth just a few months ago? She looks incredible for just giving birth not that long ago. Women are more than their bodies. The rest of your comment is so ridiculous and doesn’t deserve a reply.

      • Lorelei says:

@Ginger, not to mention, it’s not as if the photo was taken yesterday. Most likely it was even closer to when she’d just given birth. But I’m sure everyone calling her “boxy” is super svelte behind their screens.

      • Cessily says:

I was still in elastic at three months after having my children.. so to me she is a rock star!
She looks fabulous postpartum or not.

      • L4frimaire says:

@Lorelei, agree. This was probably shot over the summer. She looks smaller than this in her birthday video. Anyway, she doesn’t need to shed all her baby weight quickly and she dressed in a way that felt comfortable for her. She looks healthy and beautiful. Thinness is not a character virtue and our bodies are in a constant state of change.

    • BnlurNforever says:

This is a sexist comment. We are in the 21st century time to leave the women hate in the past where it belong if it belongs anywhere. You don’t have to like Harry and Meghan, what they do, where or whatever, but there are ways to say you don’t like something without being sexist and misogynist like here.

    • Nyro says:

      The misogyny jumped out! Smh

    • Ariel says:

@Silver- just want to point out that the Duchess grew a baby inside her body this year- perhaps it left her not as svelte as she was before said pregnancy.
How about you cut her and the photographer some slack there.
(sorry for the late reply- this comment has been bothering me)

Hope you have a good evening.

  18. Seraphina says:

I am laughing my ass off right now picturing what may be going on with the BRF when they see or saw this.
This was beautifully executed and the first paragraph so well written capturing truth.
They took the lemons their family gave them, made lemonade and serving that drink right back to their haters – all of them! Maybe that’s why they have such a sour look about them.
Congrats to them. I hope and pray they continue to do well and prosper. We could use more people like this in our crazy world.

    • Lorelei says:

@Seraphina, I’m a bit ashamed of myself, thinking about how much I’d pay to be a fly on the wall when William and Kate first saw this cover

      • Becks1 says:

I’m sure the RAF event with Kate was planned once the palace knew about Harry’s event with Dr. Biden (since that was announced ahead of time), as an attempt to show that the Cambridges support the troops too, but they weren’t anticipating the Time 100 cover. Whoops!

      • Seraphina says:

@Lorelei, don’t be ashamed for I too wish I could see it all explode and have a nice drink while watching and hearing what went down.

    • MY3CENTS says:

This is good in so many ways, and the fact that it was released on Harry’s birthday is just the cherry on top.
      Happy birthday Harry!
      Live, love and prosper!

  19. girl_ninja says:

They look like a billion bucks and I am so excited for Harry and Meghan. I may even buy their Time cover! Shutter Island is steaming and I’m loving it!

  20. Moira's Rose's Garden says:

Love love love everything about this.

Hark, do I hear incandescent rages erupting right about now?
    #StayMadCainAndUnable

  21. Amelia says:

Does anyone else notice on the tree trunk or is it just me?

  22. Loretta says:

    I love this photoshoot

  23. Queen Meghan’s Hand says:

Um…WHY DID THEY SMOOTH HARRY’S SKIN SO MUCH? He looks unreal, like a robot posed next to Duchess Meghan.
As the kids say, she ate.

  24. corralee says:

The cover looks weirdly photoshopped but the other pics are great!

(I’ve noticed this with a lot of magazines, they photoshop covers so much to fit in text and the masthead that they all look completely fake, while editorial pictures often look waaaaay better)

    • L4frimaire says:

Maybe I have a bad eye, and not trained in photography, but I really am not seeing all the fuss over the cover photo in terms of scale or composition. I love their direct gaze, the contrast of color, how pretty they look, his hand on her shoulder ( he has beautiful hands). Yes it’s stylized but really am not seeing the point of the over analysis. It’s different from their usual style, more bold, but hey, always up for something new.

  25. TheOriginalMia says:

I’m not a fan of the cover. I don’t like the positioning. OTOH, blow up those other ones and hang them in BHouse. They look hot af. Those pictures are a major flex and I love it! They are a power couple. They are equals. And there’s not a damn thing Bitter Salty Isle and the Lamebridges can do to dim their light. Stay pressed and mad!

Happy 37th Birthday, Harry! You hit the jackpot with Meghan.

    • Nic919 says:

I don’t mind the positioning but since Harry is wearing a dark shirt and the background is dark, it looks a bit like he is floating.

      • aftershocks says:

^^ Well, mayhap that Prince Harry IS floating … on Cloud Nine, wid his bada$$ Duchess of Success! 😊

Not that the background is so dark. As VS said, ‘I’m buying anything Harry & Meghan are selling.’ M&H are the absolute bomb. Indeed, a powerful, influential couple because they lead with true caring, compassion, heart, warmth, and brilliance.

I’m enjoying the heck out of this thread in all its contradictions, but not more than I love the realness that is Harry & Meghan. They are comfortable in their own skins, and unafraid to be who they are, both individually, and as a power couple. 💖

  26. Cathy says:

Congratulations to Sussex and I love the photos so much. I want to what kind of filter they use. Its look surrealistic and awesome.

Poor future future queen kate , even in DM her visit comes under Sussex, kaney and some other people. She didnt even make to top of DM pages after her long vacation.

Ps. She looks pregnant in her visit but at the same time in those pap stroll she doesnt. Also they airbrush Kate photos in that visit.

She does something to her face , her face looks all smooth but no tan ?? No naked french sunbathing this time ??

  27. Amy Bee says:

I’m loving the salty comments from the royalists here. Keep them coming. I’m having a blast reading them.

    • Jaded says:

      They’re a pathetic bunch aren’t they…always tilting at windmills.

    • Pinellas Pixie says:

They don’t seem to appreciate your “LOL” anymore than they appreciate this cover. I love that you did that and I love the cover.

  28. LadyHanbury says:

I’m waiting for Carol-with-an-e to make the Keenbridges on the People’s Mag as Couple of the Year award or whatever award they may have Lol. They can’t go to Tatler, since the Aristos circle will laugh at them lol.

  29. Over it says:

These two are so damm hot it should be illegal. You go Harry and Meghan. Bring the fire. Burn in hell British media and royalist of racism and colonialism

  30. Sofia says:

Damn. Some people are upset. It’s one thing to say you don’t like a cover but another to say “he’s hanging onto her like she’s his mom” which plays into Mugxit talking points. It’s suspect.

    • L4frimaire says:

You gotta wonder what types of relationships they have and how their man treats them. Half these people saying this nonsense would never consent to being the neglected doormat they think Meghan should be. As for the the other half, do you and good luck with that.

      • Seaflower says:

Actually they probably are neglected doormats and are therefore furious that the WOC American isn’t, or they have never been in a real relationship themselves and they think 1950’s housewives and old Disney princesses is what the ideal woman should be.

  31. AnneSurely says:

Places on these lists are bought and paid for- much like Oscars campaigns, but it’s a smart way to keep themselves in the respectable and legitimate side of the media when they are so often dragged into the salacious gossip side.

Also, N’Gozi Okonjo-Iweala is doing amazing work. I’m glad to see a global leader and activist of her stature make the mainstream media circuit. Every day Americans need to know who she is.

    • Seraphina says:

Please explain how “places on this list are bought and paid for”…………………..

      • L4frimaire says:

I assume it’s Times editorial team that comes up with the list of names in the first place. To loosely quote, we want them everywhere and no where. So many were trying to anticipate what would happen for Harry’s birthday, but they definitely expected something. Well now we know.

    • Lili says:

Wow! you know what so what if they bought a spot, if it enables them to keep doing what they do then good on them

      • AnneSurely says:

Absolutely. It’s what all foundations and philanthropists do- at every size non profit. It’s how they fund their work. This is a normal part of non profit work. You see it at a local community level too. 40 under 40 lists, awards ceremonies, etc. Non profit work is a business and the hustle is real.

      • Harry says:

Isn’t their foundation based in a state that allows them to keep most of the profits?

      • Christine says:

What profits? Can you find a “donate now” link on Archewell? Have they ever asked for money that remotely comes into their orbit? As far as I remember, they have only ever provided links to organizations they support, like World Central Kitchen, etc.

      • Seraphina says:

@Harry, well Hell, if that is true – I am starting a NONPROFIT Charitable organization in California and keeping all profits and not paying taxes. I wonder how this secret has been kept under wraps for so long!

Educate yourselves, because the more you know (insert star moving above your head).

        https://www.oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/agweb/pdfs/charities/publications/guide_for_charities.pdf

      • Eurydice says:

@Harry – non-profit organizations are incorporated with the federal government and have abide by federal guidelines or they will lose their non-taxable status.

      • L4frimaire says:

Where do you people live because magazines like Time don’t operate like that. There are 100people/orgs listed, with 7/different covers. Are you saying all of them “ bought a spot”, or just the Sussexes?

    • Truth says:

So Sherrilyn Ifill bought her place?

      • AnneSurely says:

Yes? This is not a commentary on anyone’s worthiness for the list. This is how the non profit game is played.

      • Seraphina says:

AnneSurely, I have a graduate degree with Nonprofit Management making up the core of the classes. No where did I see this as a means of “playing the game” and if it’s how it is played off the record – then that opens questions on fiduciary ethics: Spending money to purchase a place on a power list when it should be spent on the mission of the nonprofit.

      • Eurydice says:

@AnneSurely – I work with non-profits, some big and some small, and we’ve never paid for a spot on a list. We’d have to get a donor to give us the money first and then we wouldn’t be wasting it on buying a spot.

      • L4frimaire says:

Just have to say that Sherilynn Ifill is truly an amazing person doing amazing work for the NAACP LDF. I wish these people trying to slander all these notable people on this list would actually take the time to do a bit of research and reading, and get their head out of their Harry and Meghan hate bubble. They’re starting to look both ignorant and ridiculous.

    • Maria says:

So, presumably according to you, N’Gozi Okonjo-Iweala also bought and paid for her spot? Apparently she must have paid the Sussexes to write an article about her?

      Stop.

    • Sofia says:

Actually you know what? Delete comment. Not going to do this (again…)

      • Merricat says:

And yet DT never got a cover. I guess he didn’t offer them enough money.

      • booboocita says:

@Merricat — DJT is listed as one of Time’s most influential leaders, more’s the pity. He probably regrets it; the profile by Nancy Gibbs is scorching hot, withering in its criticism. Heh. She noted that Trump always boasts that he has more Time covers than any other person, and Gibbs was quick to point out that Nixon has 50-something to DJT’s 35. As incandescent as the reactions from KP are, I’m guessing that DJT is even more furious at not getting a cover.

    • Lola says:

So Harry & Meghan with their $100,000,000 fortune were able to ‘buy’ their way on the list but Queen Elizabeth, Prince of Wales, The Cambridges weren’t able to pay the fee? Even though Brexit Britain is desperate for good international press, and the monarchy is facing an Andrew trial PR disaster? This is the year the Royals decided not to ‘buy’ their way onto the list?

You sound ridiculous. More people voted for Harry and Meghan than voted for the Queen. Despite the vitriol and outright falsehoods heaped upon them by the British press, Harry and Meghan have a global fan base. While the Royals may have to bribe the papers with Sunday photo inserts like Kate’s Cuties or the Queen’s cuties to ensure positive press coverage, the Sussexes don’t have to bargain or bribe anyone. Their work is their golden key.

They co-chaired Global Citizen Vaxx Live and raised $300,000,000+ for the international vaccine fund. That alone would have gotten them the cover.

    • Lorelei says:

If it’s so easy to buy and pay for spots on lists like these, why don’t we ever see the Future King and his Future Consort appearing on them?

    • Haylie says:

AnneSurly, just admit you don’t know what you’re talking about and move on.

    • GuestWho says:

As the daughter of an editor at Time Magazine – they don’t sell covers. It’s not People ffs.

    • Kalana says:

The armchair experts are out in full force today.🤦‍♀️

Sunshine Sachs for the win! Lol.

    • Bex says:

@AnneSurely Whatever helps you sleep at night, beloved.

    • MY3CENTS says:

I think you’re confusing this with people’s most beautiful/sexist alive.

    • Marivic says:

@ANNESURELY You are severely jealous of the Sussexes success. What was a paid spot are the Cambridges’ People magazine cover which has been gathering dust. And your Piss Morgan Fox News gig is a strategy by the Royals and British media to slander the Sussexes in the U.S. with the objective of destroying their reputation and goodwill. Morgan has been ingratiating himself to the uber racist Fox News to get a gig. Now the Royals have a voice in the U.S as they vicariously live through Morgan. What is gratifying is that Americans are not stupid. They can see through the lies and deception of the Royals and the rota clowns. Still the Sussexes are winning.

  32. Chelsea says:

I know there are going to be a lot of people mad about this but these 2 deserve to be on this list for raising $60+ million for COVAX through outreach to corporations in their roles as VAXLive co-chairs alone. Let’s not even get into how Meghan has been seen less than a handful of times this year but still somehow manages to trend once a week without fail.

This is a huge get for TIME to get their first ever cover spread but it was also really smart for this to be their first shoot together over a fashion magazine spread where they’d have to do an interview talking about themselves. Instead it’s in a respected magazine like TIME where they are honored by Jose Andres who touts their work including his collaborations with them while they themselves conversely honor the WTOs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and her work on vaccine equity which they acknowledge theyve worked with her on. Updating archewell.com with one of the TIME pics and their tribute to Ngozi is also really well done by their team. The fact that this all falls on Harry’s birthday is just too good.

  33. Digital Unicorn says:

    They look fab and amazing!!

This explains the weird story about Kate wearing green at her brothers wedding?

  34. Angie says:

These two are the monarchy’s worst nightmare. I LOVE IT.

    • Lorelei says:

@Angie, they really, really are. And the incredible thing is that the RF did it to themselves. All of it. They had *so many chances* to change course, but continued to make the wrong decision every single day, and now here we are…and they’re all probably sh!tting bricks at BP/KP. Can you imagine the scene when everyone got the first look at that cover? 😂 Oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯

(I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t loving it, too)

      • Eurydice says:

They’ve had so many chances to change course about so many things – it’s like stupidity is hereditary, or maybe it’s just infectious.

    • Fanciful says:

The monarchy could be supportive and gain so much easy, free social credit by doing nothing other than not being assholes. But they’re too stupid to see that.

  35. Crowned Huntress says:

This is a gorgeous spread and they look absolutely stunning in these greens!
Chef Jose’s blurb on them cut to the chase because for all the squawking they do about their every move, they can’t challenge them where it counts which is in their work & their tangible results.

    Happy Birthday Harry!

May this be the beginning of House Sussex’s very long and prosperous reign! 💚👑💚

  36. MellyMel says:

Happy Birthday indeed! And now I need an olive green coat!

  37. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

This is fantastic. And yeah, next month’s cover should be about the royals only the image should be a large Victorian mirror.

  38. Delphine says:

The dimensions or the angle of the shot just seem off to me. She looks beautiful but oddly truncated in this pic.

  39. Linda says:

So happy to see Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recognized for the great work she is doing at GAVI and also at the world bank. It’s also interesting that she is also a part of William’s earth shot price initiative.

    • BabsORIG says:

LOL @ Ngozi is on William’s earth shot prize, LOL.😂😂 You just couldn’t help yourself, could you?😳

      • Linda says:

        @Babasorig
I am distantly related to Ngozi so I am definitely proud of all her achievements and all the amazing endeavors she is involved in.

    • Eurydice says:

She did impressive work in her career at the World Bank, but left there 10 years ago. She’s now the Director General of the World Trade Organization.

    • Haylie says:

Lying and claiming you are distantly related to Ngozi to try and uplift William is a new low in the form of internet trolling.

      Are you ok?

  40. Leigh_S says:

Love the ‘I’ve got her back’ positioning in the photo <3
    Well done

  41. SunRae says:

The photoshop is annoying because they don’t need it but it’s such a minor point to focus on because they are SO stunning and shiny and disruptive and powerful. I don’t know anyone in the public eye who gets people so fired up just by existing. The flailing and unraveling and grasping at straws… trying to find a reason why they are failures is pathetic and punctuated by the meltdowns every time they emerge.

I hope they keep being racists worst nightmare. I hope the collective force of the people who are rooting for them simply because they want to live in a world where good people cannot be destroyed by hate makes them the global powerhouse they are assured to be.

  42. L says:

    They are boss AF.

  43. Gk says:

Honestly though I like Harry & Meghan, I think the British press are overly obsessed with them. I mean they are good looking philanthropists but to me the DM/ Piers/ British columnists who dissect everything about them is weird. They are not that interesting. It’s like it’s so personal to them if there is someone British o. Here maybe they can explain to me if this is the British press or the people or what.

    • Becks1 says:

Oh for sure they are obsessed with them. Here in the US, I feel like outside of royal watchers and hardcore Sussex fans, no one talks about them unless they’re doing something. Like if there’s news, they get talked about, but its not 100 articles about how many bathrooms are in their house.

The british press is definitely obsessed with them – they’re the jilted lovers who need H&M back.

    • L4frimaire says:

The British press is obsessed with them because it is in their financial interest to be. Also, it enables them to not ask hard questions about the government and it’s policies. Here, we don’t obsess over them because so much is going on in real life, especially with Covid or what’s happening to women in Texas, or the BS with the Senate (Manchin) and Afghanistan. Also it’s football season. There’s more to life than Harry and Meghan over here.

  44. Merricat says:

    Icons. Well done.
That bitterness must taste vile in the mouths of their detractors. It’s amazing, the stories that people make up in their heads to try to explain away the continuing success that is the Sussexes at work. Lol.
Harry and Meghan work hard and they get things done. Sure, there aren’t any pie charts, and they don’t claim their endeavors are the most prestigious in existence, but we like the concrete results that come from action, rather than the lip service that passes for royal support.
To body-shame a woman who is post-partum is despicable. Eff off.

  45. Jaded says:

Can I say how much I adore José Andrés…I’ve been watching his cooking shows forever but it’s his work with World Central Kitchen that is so impressive. Two things about him you’ll love:

    1) Ann Coulter called him a “nut foreigner” after he suggested Biden should use FEMA to address hunger in the wake of COVID-19 in the United States. Andrés replied, “I’m so proud you called me a nut. Nuts are fruits where the ovary walls become hard so I can be protector of my people and everyone else. Nuts like me? Energy-dense, nutrient-rich, what we need to feed USA. Nuts? You right girl, ‘foreigners’ like almonds and pistachios!”

    2) Andrés planned to open a restaurant in the Trump Hotel in Washington, DC, in 2016. After Trump made disparaging comments about undocumented Mexican immigrants in June 2015, Andrés withdrew from the contract with the Trump Organization, which then sued him. Andrés counter-sued, and the parties reached a settlement in April 2017. Andrés remains an outspoken critic of Trump.

    What’s not to love!!

    • Dee Kay says:

I had read #1 but not #2 before. Thank you for sharing!! Andrés is a hero of our times. I think (hope) he will get a Nobel Peace Prize one day.

    • Lorelei says:

@Jaded I remember that happening, but didn’t realize it was Andres! Now I like him even more.

  46. Well Wisher says:

Happy Birthday to Prince Harry. This recognition is so endearing. In service, one focus on the work and not the results. It is more important that the necessary impact is felt by the receipients.
It is then “Well done you” – Service is universal, indeed.
One cannot dismiss the fact that BP posted four pics on his 37th Birthday. All of which, including one with Meghan, depicted Prince Harry engaged in royal service, highlighting, celebrating those endeavours with a poignancy of loss. Their meaningfulness and purpose were rendered no more, due to mere jealousies rooted in insecurity.

  47. Plums says:

Love the walking photo, hate the cover. Looks kind of unnatural and too ‘shopped, especially Harry. But good for them!

More and more I feel like the The Firm and surrounding industry is resigned to the reality of the Sussexes as a respected, global power couple who will be around doing their thing for years, and so have become less inclined to totally dismiss or belittle them because it’s dumb to alienate them so totally. Especially looking at what they have to work with right now with other senior royals mired in inanity at best or shady financial and sex scandals at worst.

    • BC says:

Thank you Plums, I don’t like the cover shot at all. It’s proportions are weird to me, but Meghan’s hair is the bomb on it. Honestly, she looks much larger than she is and Harry including his head look small. It’s just an odd shot and touched up oddly too. The other shot I love though, and it does give me a nice fall vibe.

I wish we could get back to normal with the Sussexes. You know where you can talk about the good stuff, maybe a little snark about the outfits sometimes. Instead of the constant polarization they seem to get. Some celebrities just get so much noise. You know it’s one of the added bonuses about no Trump in the White House every thing isn’t a big important dumpster fire anymore. Sure we still have problems but it’s calmer. I want that for the Sussexes and us too. It’s a bit better for them, but it should be more by now. I didn’t realize Andres knew them that well. I know several people who have worked with Jose Andres, and he is amazing with his causes, but don’t let him fool you he’s a savvy and shrewd businessman. In fact the stories kind of surprised me. Congratulations to the Sussexes. I wonder who the other cover people are and how they determine where the covers go?

  48. 2cents says:

What a gorgeous couple! I love the cover photo in which Harry demonstrates to the doubters that he loves and has his wife’s back. Posing as equals (same height), his hand resting on her shoulder in support and both look ready to continue their awesome journey to inspire and change the world for the better.

Congratulations on your 37th birthday, Harry!
Yesterday I was impressed by the news on Twitter from @AfricanParks that the Rob & Melani Walton Foundation (@RMWF) has made a transformational gift of $100M to African Parks, to preserve 30M hectares of biodiversity & bolster sustainability in Africa, working together with multiple African governments. Harry is the President of African Parks. His longterm commitment to his projects, their sustained funding and growth are a testimony of his influential power. So this Times tribute on his birthday is well-deserved. Well done, Harry!

As a royal reporter recently said, Harry and Meghan are setting up their own court. With a very modern take on royalty. Blessings, happiness and good luck to them and their children. They are ready to shine their own light on the worldstage! 🌟🙏🌟

  49. Bibliomommy96 says:

Something seems off in the cover picture, I really love the other one, you can see the love when they look at each other

  50. HeyJude says:

All I have to say is enjoy England, hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!

  51. Dee Kay says:

This is exactly the kind of profile — and life!! — Diana would have loved to have, aimed to have, if she had managed to move full-time to the U.S. (as I believe she was planning at the time she passed). Harry is doing a wonderful job carrying forward his mother’s inspiring spirit, her dedication to service, her talent for demonstrating empathy and compassion and giving on a global stage. And I don’t think he would have been able to do it outside the BRF if he had not married such a brilliant woman. It took both of them to break free and model a new way, which is also the continuation and full realization of Diana’s way.

  52. Tiffany :) says:

I cackled when I saw this! The haters are going to be soooooo upset! LOLZ!

I honestly don’t care about the royals that much, but when you can see someone so obviously being bullied by UK press and institutions, it’s hard not to root for them.

  53. Courtney B says:

Meghan looks great but I hate the cover. It looks awkward and the composition is weird. Partly because they look so large. (Dimension wise in relation to borders NOT weight wise.) But Meghan’s petite and it looks like made her close to Harry’s height even with him seated. Like she’s still on a box. I thought it was a photoshop and not an actual photo until I read the post. Harry especially looks odd. Especially his skin. Maybe they wanted to give him Meghan’s great skin. Lol They have taken so many great photos. I love the photo of them walking. But page six, parroting their sister the DM, is already freaking out about how their ‘airbrushed’ cover is drawing ridicule. Yes, by page six and the DM! And it’s triply hilarious considering the Cambridge’s anniversary photos where Kate hardly looked like herself. But, yeah, the Sussexes have really faded away and no one cares about them without them being in the royal family as all the royalists and rota claimed would happen. Lol I mean, this is TIME magazine not Us Weekly or People.

    • HeatherC says:

It is amazing. Harry does look a little too airbrushed. Meghan’s proportions (NOT weight, like her general size compared to Harry) look weird, probably an angle thing.

But you can see the chemistry between them, especially in the other picture.

Try as they might (and they did try mightily) they can’t photoshop Elegant Bill enough to make it look like he’s not annoyed with his wife whenever they are forced to share a space.

      No wonder they’re so salty.

      • BC says:

I should have read comments a little further before I wrote mine above, you both said it so much better. I can’t figure how they got this shot. It’s proportions based on the actual people are just odd. Sure you can photoshop, but even that is a weird photoshop.

I think a lot of people looked at it and saw Meghan’s hair and that was just kind of it for them. Cause her hair is one of the best shots I’ve seen in a long time.

  54. Rapunzel says:

I love how folks are picking this picture apart like the picture matters. Have y’all never seen Time Mag before? This is in line with their usual covers for this type of issue. It’s the honor that matters!

All magazine covers get photoshopped btw.

    • Lorelei says:

@Rapunzel that’s exactly the issue, imo— by focusing on the cover/photos, the Sussex detractors don’t have to think about what their inclusion on the list really means, or the fact that William and Kate would never even be *considered* for something like this. Ignorance is bliss! And it’s a lot easier to list all of the alleged flaws in the pictures than to think about what it means. imo : )

      • Nic919 says:

Kate was never asked to pose for a photo. Let’s not pretend she would have refused it. It’s just that Kate doesn’t really matter to the modern world and she can continue to wear her buttons and wiglets for her white supremacist audience who will coo when she dares to leave her many palatial homes once every few months.

There is an ongoing pandemic with hundreds of thousands dying around the world and multiple natural disasters but Kate didn’t lift a damn finger to help. Kate doesn’t care about helping others and in return she is irrelevant to the actual rest of the world. But for an establishment UK media paid to prop up her poor attempts at pretending to care about people, she would be forgotten, as she most assuredly was by the editors of Time magazine.

  55. Jay says:

Great cover choices! They are pretty photo shopped, especially Harry, but still recognizable as themselves, and that’s what will sell.

Endless 😂😂😂 to the salty tabloids that are saying H and M being chosen for recognition somehow conflicts with their wish for privacy. Keep trying guys!

  56. Slippers4 life says:

    They are just so beautiful.

  57. L says:

Adding more: I read the cover not as ‘I got your back’ and more as ‘we are equals’

  58. Janice Hill says:

It’s funny how all the comments from the British press and the negative comments about the photos all belittle the Sussexes. No one is complaining that the Cambridges should have been picked for the list. No one is complaining that the Sussexes don’t deserve the award. All they can do is pick at details.

    • MsIam says:

Exactly. Even their “supporters” know the Cambridges are lame, lol no mater how many velvet tuxes they own. They hate us cause they ain’t us.

    • Lorelei says:

@Janice, right?! It’s like the elephant in the room that no one wants to acknowledge.

  59. Over it says:

I totally get this cover photo. This is a man saying, see this woman right here infront of me? Well she is all that and more. Keep looking because I ain’t never going to ever not have her back . Harry stands behind, next to, Infront . He just stands with his wife because this is love and mutual respect

  60. Mel says:

I’m assuming that many people on the other side of the pond are currently trying to figure out how to untwist their knickers….

  61. Over it says:

Is that a white pantsuit Meghan is wearing , and if so where can I get it? I so love it.

  62. Giddy says:

Love, love, love Harry and Meghan. Their move here is our best gift from England since our Independence.

  63. Alexandria says:

Daayyyuuummmm my favourite couple is looking good!!!

  64. loras says:

Donald Trump was on the list as well.Just saying

    • Agreatreckoning says:

He is on the list. And, the tribute to him was delightful! Hahaha

      https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people-2021/6095988/donald-trump-leader/

In 2021, Trump arguably surpassed Nixon as a menace to the Constitution. American democracy catches its breath in between the lines of the founding text; it depends for its resilience and moral power on a shared commitment to both individual freedom and the common good. Trump’s only rule is ruthlessness; he sees norms as opportunities for vandalism, a window left open in our intricate constitutional structure that he can crash through.

    • Haylie says:

So? He was POTUS. They didn’t say us influence was good. But he was indeed influential. Unfortunately, he still is.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

@Haylie, IKR. He wasn’t on the list for anything positive or being a humanitarian.

      • L4frimaire says:

Exactly. He has a death grip on the Republican Party that is still influencing their platform. His spreading Covid misinformation and his appointees to the Supreme Court have led to disastrous outcomes. Also, January 6th, California recall attempt. The man is a malevolent influence, and Trumpism has its grip on the body politic.

    • VS says:

In case you didn’t notice, Tucker Carlson is on it as well……so what’s your point? this is proof that a lot of people didn’t even take the time to look into the list of people…..if you didn’t, why not ask?

  65. Reece says:

Oh I already know they are so mad over there! *cackles*

  66. Max says:

Really photoshopped. Not a fan. They look fake from all the photoshop. Also, I’m assuming her hair is extensions? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not a William and Kate fan either if that helps!! 😂

      • Debbie says:

I know, right, Jan? The “I’m not a William and Kate fan… if that helps” must be the new “Now, I like Meghan BUT…” line. I think you said it best, next.

    • Becks1 says:

Why would you assume her hair is extensions? Every time we’ve seen her in the past year with her hair down its been really long.

      • Lizzie says:

Doesn’t look like extensions but so what if it is? Scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a critique.
Lots of ‘photoshop’ cut and paste comments today.

      • Becks1 says:

Kate’s wiglets are so obvious there is no choice but to call them out.

Meghan has had consistently long hair since she married Harry. I don’t see the extensions.

But even if she were wearing them, the difference is that Kate’s biggest “quality” is her “good hair” – a wiglet just exposes that good hair for a lie. Meghan has many other qualities so her hair is pretty far down on the list, so wearing extensions wouldn’t bother me if she did.

    • Haylie says:

I’ve seen you posting salt bae statements against Harry and Meghan before, but never against Workshy and Dolittle.

      Your disclaimer rings false.

    • Jais says:

      LOL
-quoting Amy Too here with her simple response and energy today, which was perfect

    • Bex says:

The salt in this comment would cause high blood pressure.

    • nina says:

@Jennifer What are you in middle school. Her hair has consistently been down her back. Even if she is wearing hair extensions, so what. Who gives a rat’s patootie
As they say in the US. when someone makes such juvenile remarks like yours regarding hair. “Yes, its my own hair…hair I bought.”

This reply belonged on the Frogmore comment, obv. Don’t know how it ended up here.

  67. EviesMom says:

I love the messaging. I just wish they had presented them at their real stature – MM is not equal height to Harry. It makes it look doctored.
But I love the shade, love the article & fully endorse their influencer status.

    • MsIam says:

He’s sitting down, as countless others have pointed out earlier.

    • Bex says:

All those years of Charles forcing Diana to wear flats and pose for pictures where she’s always seated or he’s standing on a higher step…

      • nina says:

Bawhahaha. Damn he’s been mean, petty and small minded since forever. With his dumpy wide hipped awkward body .
Surprised he didn’t try to force her to also wear clothes that made her look dowdy.

    • Ginger says:

How can you not see that he is sitting down? It’s very obvious.

  68. booboocita says:

My joy for these two is surpassed only by my rage that I can’t wear olive green (makes me look jaundiced). Dammit so much …

    • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

Must be something in the air, I recently bought an olive green linen dress. Not sure how well it goes, now that my hair’s going from chestnut to silver, so I wear it with a jacket or cardigan in rust or russet.

  69. Moxylady says:

Omg I love it. I love the cover. I love the photos inside. I love how they even used an honor bestowed on them to highlight the ongoing work of other organizations. They are complete class.
    Happy happy happy.

  70. Bookie says:

While I agree with many that the front cover is odd (at first, I thought it was a fake cover with their heads put on other people’s bodies) I don’t care! I’m so happy to see them thriving. Like I feel I have a personal investment in them. I’m so happy they are thriving.

  71. MerryGirl says:

Good looking Sussexes looking Good! The greens, her hair, everything, swoon…

  72. Nyro says:

What is this “Meghan looks wide” business? She looks like a grown ass woman with a grown ass woman’s body.

    • Anna says:

90% of women would be thrilled to look like her. She is stunning, her body also just made two babies. Never saw a comment about a man that his clothes make him look wide/big/short/old/fat/thin or that he’s gained or lost weight (unless its +/-50kg). Women are scanned for any imperfections. When will this stop???

  73. loras says:

Rumor is she may run for President in 2024,but that couldn’t be true.

    • Bex says:

If by “rumor” you mean lie cooked up by deranged royal reports…

      • Tessa says:

It is a click bait headline that she is “running for President” . I doubt she has any intention of doing so.

    • L4frimaire says:

Not this again. Major eye roll.

    • Lizzie says:

It could be true, it’s not but she absolutely could if she wanted to.

      • L4frimaire says:

She’s may not even eligible. You have to have resided in the country for the past 14 years, although it’s not clear if it’s 14 years total or just before running for office. Sis just repatriated. Also, she’d have to divest herself of so much they’ve invested in and just getting started with. Makes no sense. Let’s see what happens in 15/20 years. My question is do these people speculating see real POTUS potential, or is this more power fear mongering?

    • swirlmamad says:

You really think she’s going to put herself through that gauntlet after everything she’s been through???? Insert (extremely well deserved) LOL here.

    • Kalana says:

The rumor is based on an extra from Suits. The other cast members say Meghan would be the most suited to run for president. Meghan has never expressed interest in running for political office.

    • Becks1 says:

      LOL.

  74. SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

Love the photos, and the green outfits are gorgeous. Something odd about the cover photo though, they look out of proportion to each other. But you expect a bit of photo manipulation to make it all fit together. Maybe the way Harry’s sitting, and the dark clothing makes him look smaller.

If this makes Angela Levin and Piers Morgan fall down foaming at the mouth, then that’s just a delightful bonus.

  75. Dee says:

I love it and I love the cover pose. Their eyes are full of life and looking us straight on. Meghan is standing strong. Harry has her back. They appear confident, but not confrontational. This isn’t an engagement pose. This is something you’re not used to seeing: powerful equal partners.

  76. LRobb says:

Their presence on the list is earned, and this photo shoot is gorgeous. I admire Jose Andres very much and I believe every single word he wrote.

I read some salty isle headline about how Meghan hired a high end glam squad for this shoot. Will they ever get over that the best of beauty & fashion professionals were her friends on speed dial before she ever met Prince Harry? Get over it, silly people, that’s how she rolls. Love this couple, and Happy Birthday Prince Harry.

  77. aquarius64 says:

The BM is salty because US legitimate press is getting fresh pictures of the Sussexes. It proves the BM has no real influence outside the UK. Pus Morgan probably thought being “cleared” by OfComm he’ll be taken seriously. The TIME cover shot that down. You bet the Markles are choking on this cover, especially Scammy.

  78. blunt talker says:

I am so happy to see them again-Harry looks very good in all black-red heads usually do-they have earned their spot on this list-I really like what the guy said about partnering with them-That’s the way Harry and Meghan roll-God bless them and their children as they go forth into the global galaxy.

  79. The Voice says:

All I see is equal partners. Physically, Prince Harry is bigger so it makes sense that he’s seated. The fact that he’s behind her conveys that he’s supportive and isn’t afraid to let her shine. Whenever I’ve seen them at events they seem to be in sync but there’s no denying Meghan’s star power. She comes across as extremely personable and she’s a naturally gifted speaker and they’re embracing it! That’s the sign of a secure couple. She’s postpartum and I love that she has a realistic body. She may appear boxy but I think it’s the cut of her clothes and her high-waisted pleated pants. And that the shirt + pants look like a jumpsuit with a high waist (aka short waist). People age and their bodies change after pregnancy and childbirth. She seems very comfortable and I’m here for it!

  80. Marivic says:

The British rota clowns are horribly livid again. Their duchess has been upstaged and overshadowed by TIME’s two of the 100 most influential people in the world. Why did she schedule something on Harry’s birthday? She and the courtiers intentionally planned to have her first exposure after a long absence to fall on Harry’s birthday. They probably thought his birthday would be uneventful. They know now they’re wrong. With the publication of the TIME cover of the Sussexes, the other duchess’s relaunch hardly created any significant impact. It’s a dud as usual.

  81. Lizzie says:

The photos are marvelous but most striking is the heartfelt tribute. They deserve this recognition of there good hearts, good intentions and their vision to fulfill their goals.

So sorry for for the sad folks crying that they are irrelevant for the last two years. Now, The Who Cares awards, THAT is irrelevant.

  82. PIP says:

They are a beautiful couple and their love is inspiring! Harry looks dapper as always and Meghan’s hair and makeup highlighting the goddess that she is

  83. February-Pisces says:

Meghan looks beautiful as usual, but harry, omg he looks fine as hell. He seems to be getting even sexier as time goes by. Men need to take note here, a real man will always let his woman shine. Harry is husband goals for sure. Also I love that this came out on his birthday, especially after keen tried to hijack it by emerging for the first time in months on today of all days.

  84. Marivic says:

People here are offended and enraged, the British royal family and the rota clowns included, simply because the Sussexes are on the magazine cover of one of the “most authoritative and informative guide to what is happening in current affairs, politics, business, health, science and entertainment with over 20 million subscribers worldwide turning to the magazine for award winning exclusive coverage .” This is what gets their goat. That the Sussexes are relevant and winning in a big, big, big way.

  85. Amyb says:

Laughing as someone who has actually worked with Time magazine saying these spots are “bought”. They can’t. Can a PR team make people more visible? Yes. But I can assure you that H&M do not need any help been visible. And the cover some are complaining about is plastered everywhere being Time more publicity. Face it the couple sell clicks and magazines.

  86. Marie says:

I love Meghan and Harry. They look weird om that cover, the proportions are wrong. Photoshop can go wrong.

  87. Barrett says:

I love them. I like the message of the photo but it creeps me out bc it looks photoshopped to me, like their heads are airbrushed on bodies.

  88. Normades says:

They’re America’s royalty now. I hope they never step foot back on salty island ever again. All they get over there is abuse. And people will just care less an less about the monarchy as England’s own influence wanes.

They say living well is the best revenge and M&H are making their haters absolutely livid.

  89. 2cents says:

The British royal reporters’ meltdown on Vinegar Island over H&M’s influence and TIME-article is totally misplaced. A litmus indicator to measure influence objectively is the Cambridge’s own Twitter account. Their congratulation post for Harry’s birthday had 3,5x more likes and 7x more comments compared to the post about Kate’s first engagement that took place on the same day.

That’s a better popularity poll than the Yougov propaganda polls. I guess British royal reporters are too lazy or sycophantic to analyze data.

  90. NewKay_ says:

I love this. They are operating in another stratosphere to the royal family. Love it.

  91. notasugarhere says:

Lord the trolls really came out salty for this cover, didn’t they?
