Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s reconciliation is fated, says celebrity astrologer

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck look head over heels in love during vacation in Capri, Italy
As you know, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been very public about their rekindled romance. They’ve been seen canoodling in New York and Italy, unabashedly (I mean they are two Leos). It would seem the two have moved on from the heartbreak that Ben caused Jennifer back in 2004 shortly before their planned nuptials. C’est love folks or perhaps it’s fate. According to celebrity astrologer, Aliza Kelly, Ben and Jen’s romance is written in the stars. Aliza stated on the first episode of her weekly People TV video series, Celebrity Astrology Investigation, that Ben and Jen’s original bond in 2002 began when an eclipse activated their Saturn and Venus conjunction. In fact, allow Aliza to explain the details:

On the first episode of the new weekly video series, airing Tuesdays, celebrity astrologer Aliza Kelly identifies an indelible connection in the birth charts of Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49. By Kelly’s calculation, the artist’s Venus and the actor’s Saturn were “exactly aligned” in 2002, with the planets “bonding together as activated by the eclipses.”

Explaining that the north and south nodes (representing destiny and history, respectively) have an orbit of about 19 years, for the first time, she said the lunar nodes have cycled to the exact same place they were in 2002.

“I don’t know how else to say this, but it would appear this reconnection is quite literally fated!” Kelly exclaimed. “I literally have goosebumps.”

Though the couple is back smiling in the spotlight, recently making their first red carpet appearance together in 15 years, the astrologer acknowledged how much has changed since they split. Lopez and Affleck first dated in July 2002 and later got engaged, before calling it off in January 2004.

Now, the This is Your Destiny author said the couple could be challenged to redefine their relationship in a whole new world.

“Fundamentally, Leos are looking for lovers, someone to share their throne with. From an astrological perspective, the question isn’t whether Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are compatible – they are,” she teased. “The question is how they’re defining their Leo kingdom today.”

[From People]

I am a huge astrology nerd and Ben and Jen have some interesting contacts in their natal charts. Both are Leo suns and Scorpio moons (they feel at home with each other). They both have Mercury in Leo as well which means they communicate well with each other. With both of them being Leo suns and Scorpio moons, there is a lot of passion (and drama) between them. But Scorpio moons can be tricky and secretive AF. And with Ben’s Saturn (the planet of commitment) aspecting Jen’s Venus (planet of lub), this is definitely a stick and stay situation. I am skeptical of this new but old romance (I feel it is moving too fast), but I can definitely see how they are drawn to each other when I look at their synastry chart. I am hoping that this time Ben’s Leo ego doesn’t f*ck it up. I don’t believe in fate per se but I do believe that our natal charts carry energy that allow us to connect or avoid people depending on the energy in their charts. I hope this relationship works out for them. Bennifer definitely has the energy of the stars in their favor. I am subscribing to this podcast. Despite being an astrology lover, I am not an expert and I love hearing how others interpret charts.

Yeah, I believe they were fated to get back together.

    I love this, thank you!

I love it too! Thanks, Oya!

Your addition to the Bitchies makes my heart sing! I love all of your stuff. I just never comment.

Ben is looking a lot better right now than he has for years.

I think JLo’s influence plays a huge part. Add to that a healthy dose of him actively wanting to *be* in a better place.

Let’s hope for the sake of both of them that the inevitable crisis doesn’t happen in the immediate future and that they get to enjoy this.

Leos are looking for lovers. International movie multimillionaires stars as these two and especially men have a lot of offers. So it’s difficult or impossible to stay for a long and be satisfied with the same person. They are looking for new lovers, new highs and new adventures.

Fellow astrology nerd here, and I’m a Leo sun, Scorpio moon as well. Everything you said about that placement is on point. Also, my partner is a Scorpio moon as well (Sagittarius sun, so a fellow fire sign), and I think that placement just brings so much intensity, only another Scorpio moon (or a Capricorn moon, in my experience) is really able to handle it, because they “get it.” Would not be shocked if Ben and Jlo felt similarly with one another.

I am a Capricorn Moon. Does that mean I need to find someone with a Scorpio or Capricorn Moon?

      • MsGnomer says:

Generally a cap moon indicates you have experienced a lack of mothering. The moon in this sign is in its detriment. (Opposite from a moon in Cancer)

I would look at your entire natal chart to see who would be a good fit, not just the moon placement. That said, I have a partner with a moon in cap, same as I have, and we have been together 28 years. Our emotional natures have similarities.

        Best wishes to you both.

      • Andrea says:

I was either extremely neglected or verbally/Physically abused by my mother as a child so this makes total sense to me! This is very interesting to me about moon signs.

I’m a numerology nerd not an Astrology nerd. Looks like I gotta look at the numbers. From the outside looking in, it looks pretty destined.

  7. Oria says:

Fated yes, but not made to last.
When the eclipses and conjuction period we are in now ends, they will have trouble staying together. Started july/august and ends december.

    • Andrea says:

I always felt two celeb Leos wouldn’t last. They both need a calmer sign IMO for balance.

      • Oria says:

I agree completely, and not to mention Leo’s need for adoration and being in the spotlight. They need cheerleaders more than another celeb (who’s also a competitor in a sense).

    • Jules says:

Yea the word fated does not have positive connotations…

I find astrology fascinating. I’ve never gotten into it enough to know the effects of the planetary positions and what all the houses mean, but in my own life I’ve found that the basic compatibility matrix of sign types has held remarkably true. I’m an Aquarian (air sign); I’ve gotten along best with fire and air signs, and my relationships with earth and water signs were definitely more problematic.

Both of their Jupiters make aspects to each others Venuses making this dynamic a prominent one. Jupiter aspects are often present when you really like someone and feel goodwill and generosity towards them. It can also indicate excessiveness. Here the aspects are being made to the planet of love, which is really positive because it shows there is friendship not just romance. This is born out by the fact that they’ve kept in touch over the years.
There is also a double whammy in the aspects of their Saturns and Venuses. Ben’s Saturn is conjunct J Lo’s venus in their natal charts not just in the transit chart referred to by the astrologer. This can indicate longevity in a relationship and even an unconscious sense of owing a karmic debt to the other person. J Lo’s Saturn is sextile Ben’s venus, creating a sense of stability without being stifling. Both of these aspects are positive. Positive Saturn aspects create a sense of safety and commitment, while negative aspects can feel like a ball and chain and a repression of emotion. I personally believe that Saturn becomes more easy to deal with when one is older and has had some life experience and understands one’s self better.
The qualities of Saturn and Jupiter are practically opposite and it’s interesting to watch these qualities play out in their relationship. Stability, responsibility, practicality and feeling “tied down” (Saturn) on the one hand and expansiveness, largesse and a desire for freedom (Jupiter) on the other.

Whenever celeb astrology comes up, I always wonder…how do people know their birth times well enough to create an accurate chart for them? Or is this not necessary?

    • Golly Gee says:

They can do a partial reading based on the slower moving planets in the two charts and on how transiting planets are affecting those charts. But to do a thorough reading, they would need the time and place of birth in order to get the ascending sign, the house positions and the moon sign and the moon sign’s degree. The moon sign can change in a 24 hour period and the degree is important when looking at aspects to planets in the partner’s chart. The moon is very important when comparing charts, so you can’t really do an accurate reading without knowing its sign & degree.
