Adele is giving one TV interview for ’30’ and she’s giving it to Oprah!

One of the main takeaways from Adele’s Vogue interviews was that she’s really ready to “come back.” She even said as much in one of the interviews – she’s ready to be a celebrity again. She’s prepared for it, and I think she understands how to move in those celebrity circles now, she understands the paparazzi, she understands how to deal with the pressure and the attention. We also heard, weeks ago, that Adele was in talks with a few networks and streaming companies to do some kind of big comeback special, which is similar to what she did when she released 25. Now we’ve got more details: OPRAH!

Oprah Winfrey is set to interview Adele as part of a two-hour special welcoming back the Grammy winner from her years-long break.

After Page Six broke the news that Adele had a “massive” TV spectacle “in the works” for the holiday season, CBS announced Monday that “Adele One Night Only” will air on Nov. 14, the week before Thanksgiving.

“The special will feature an exclusive interview with Adele by Oprah Winfrey from her rose garden, in Adele’s first televised wide-ranging conversation about her new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son,” the network said in a press release.

“Adele One Night Only” will also feature “an extraordinary concert performance that includes the earliest opportunity to hear her first new material in six years,” according to CBS.

The special is being produced by James Corden and Ben Winston’s Fulwell 73 and Onward Productions in association with Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.

A few hour special with Oprah in a garden, which will air on CBS?? Adele watched the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview and she was like “I want that!” It sounds like the exact same vibe, plus some concert footage. I’m seriously thrilled that we’re going to see Adele’s garden too, I’ve been dying to see more of her LA home. One of the Vogue pieces said her house looks like a typical English cottage too – I wonder if Oprah will shoot anything inside the house? OMG.

I thought Oprah was a nobody? Right?

  3. Noki says:

  4. Erica says:

Why is James cordon involved in everything? Ugh.

I hear ya. Involuntary nose crinkle when his name popped up in an article that was otherwise making me smile.
At least he won’t be on camera.

  5. Emily says:

So British people do know who Oprah is!

  6. Amy Bee says:

I agree, Adele saw Harry and Meghan’s interview and said, I’m going to tell my story to Oprah. The British press is probably mad about this but it’s what they deserve.

    • Nyro says:

Yep. Biggest British artist of the last 20 years and she’s doing a major primetime sit-down with iconic American Oprah on an American network. We love to see it.

So excited about this on *so* many fronts: exactly what you said above, Nyro, AND IT’S ADELE!!! SINGING!!!! OPRAH!!! BURNING THE BM!!!!!

I am SO here for this!!!!! (just wish I could be at a rehearsal!!! I’d buy tickets!!)

  7. Becks1 says:

Oh this is going to be fantastic. Oprah and Adele in her rose garden with some music. Can’t wait!

  8. Case says:

I wonder if the artists who put out music every other year get annoyed when the red carpet is rolled out for artists who take five-year breaks, lol. I think it’s very smart of Adele if it’s what she needed and it also ensures she’s never overexposed, but it has to sting for the artists who pump out regular content in order to stay relevant.

  9. MarcelMarcel says:

I’m so glad Oprah has continued interviews after her show ended. She’s really gifted at engaging people emotionally and getting them to open. (Sometimes I wish she’d ask more hard hitting questions but no ones perfect).
I love Easy on Me and can’t wait for this interview!

What a perfect pairing, you know their chemistry is going to be off the charts. I still can’t get enough of the Oprah memes from the H&M interview so I am really looking forward to what these two in conversation have in store for us. 😂

I always thought Adele was beautiful, but that top picture, omg. Her hair, skin, features are gorgeous.

  12. K says:

Was I the only one who listened to the new song and sort of froze and then burst into tears? I truly don’t usually do that but …she got me. I feel like her magic lies in telling stories of the heart that everyone can relate to.

  13. Gruey says:

Anyone remember that Daily Mail article bemoaning that Harry wasn’t hanging out with English rose Adele! Lol!!!

  14. Stef says:

Unpopular opinion: her new single is terrible!

I have a lot of love for Adele. Her voice is amazing and I used to enjoy her songwriting and have all of her albums so far. This new single is just meh for me, less than meh. I’m not impressed…

It’s a song when you listen again you can appreciate the lyrics, simplicity, melody and its like singing crying in the notes. It reminds me of Sara Bareilles Gravity where you don’t appreciate it until you listen to it again. Adele has an amazing unmanufactured voice and glad she took some time to herself.
