  1. TIFFANY says:

I liked Cardi as host. You can tell she did not follow the script and was still good. Her Jojo Siwa shoutout was so cute.

  2. Juliette says:

I think Simu did a great job, the monologue was funny and I think the skits he did were great too. I admittedly have a huge soft spot for him (& the entire cast really) from his time on Kim’s Convenience. Also, loved him on Blood & Water. I also follow him on Twitter and find him to be funny, humble and just an all around really good dude.

Plus I always cheer for one of our own! lol

    • Jules says:

I watched some skits, and I thought he did great though SNL didn’t give him much to work with. He was endearing in his monologue, and I loved his skit with Bowen Yang.

    • Mimi says:

Him and Bowen’s short killed me😅🤣

  3. faithmobile says:

Agree, Simu did a great job on SNL, I also am a fan from Kim’ Convenience. Is Canadian earnestness is so endearing.

  4. Bettyrose says:

Maybe Kyle Rittenhouse and Brock Turner can set up their own fraternity on Bro island and take their FKing judges with them.

  5. CC says:

The Rittenhouse trial farce brings me to a level of disgust and anger that makes it hard to think straight.
One clear thought I have: CIVIL TRIALS. CIVIL TRIALS. CIVIL TRIALS.

    • bettyrose says:

      I agree but two things:
      1. If the civil trials are successful, the NRA will probably bail out Rittenhouse with payments, so he won’t feel the pain.
      2. It’s the grossest form of capitalism that sometimes the only justice is a lawsuit.

      • Jensies says:

Idk…the NRA is pretty deep underwater financially and dealing with legal bills of their own. They may not be available for bailing out racists outside their own organization at the moment.

  6. STRIPE says:

Really hoping to see self-defense laws change in reaction to this verdict (they won’t I’m sure but…) It’s infuriating to see people create danger, then kill people for responding to that danger, then be able to claim self defense.

    • Christine says:

Exactly. He wouldn’t have needed self-defense had he not created that situation. Of course people are going to react negatively toward a kid waving around a gun. And what kind of mother sends her underage son into a situation where he feared so much for his life he had to use a gun? This whole thing is ridiculous and I’m pissed at the outcome.

  7. ME says:

Did Cardi get a nose job? I just noticed it last night with all the close up shots the camera did. Also, that performance by Coldplay and BTS was horrible. Did they even rehearse? BTS did much better when they performed “Butter” at the end of the show.

    • TIFFANY says:

Coldplay is not a song and dance band. BTS complied with that., which is understandable given they are gonna give high energy performances later in the show and then their four shows.

Aside from the technical issues, I liked it.

      • ME says:

I’m not even talking about the lack of dancing, that is understandable. You could barely hear them singing and it just all seemed off to me and a mess. I like BTS a lot but this was by far the worst performance I’ve ever seen of theirs. I wonder if it was a last minute thing so no time to rehearse ?

      • Eleonora says:

BTS and Coldplay were in different countries until recently, so difficult to practice together. Coldplay is also not known for complicated dance moves, like BTS is.

Also, this was the first time they performed in front of fans again, so it was more about interacting with fans than choreo, I think. I really liked it and could hear them well. Did you maybe watch a fancam?

They were supposed to do Butter with Megan Thee Stallion, but she had a personal issue.
BTS sold out 4 days in SoFi stadium, so I hope she can join then.

I loved their interaction with Becky G by the way.
        She is so cute.

    • minx says:

She’s had at least two nose jobs.

      • ME says:

It’s odd because I really hadn’t noticed until last night.

      • minx says:

Yeah, she had one years ago when she first had a lot of plastic surgery. Then she seems to have had it refined at least one other time, maybe more. She’s pretty honest about work she’s had done.

    • Stacy Dresden says:

      I preferred Cardi’s old nose

    • ElleE says:

@me no one knows that to do with their bodies when they universe song comes on. Not surprising that even the performers don’t know what to do. Most Coldplay songs call for the old “swaying-with-a-beer-bottle-in-one-hand” move.

I really in disliked that stupid Butter song until last night – that was awesome and I am not mad that they dressed up like Butter. If they come out with a song called Banana they will get to recycle the stage costumes.

Only watched the AMAs for BTS so, is it always that good of a show? It was chill and everything was top notch, staging, seating. I saw a snide comment that Cardi was the only A lister there -who cares every single performance killed it.

      • TIFFANY says:

        @ellee.

They always try and put on a good show.

The few videos I have seen of them performing, they try to top themselves.

      • Eleonora says:

@TIFFANY try searching for Butter (feat Megan Thee Stallion) special performance video, if you like.

It has the 3 best dancers (J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook) dance to the remix they did with Megan.

Also recommended: 2020 MMA, Black Swan, (where they break gender norms again in their dance) and MMA 2018 Idol (which incorporates elemants of different traditional Korean dances) for great performances.

      • Normades says:

I dislike Coldplay, dislike that song and dislike this collaboration. BTS does not need Coldplay. This is CP’s first hit in years and BTS is the biggest act in the world right now.

I wish Megan the Stallion could of been there, now that’s a collaboration! I just hope it wasn’t because of some won’t get vaccinated issue, but I guess it sounds like something else.

    • Velvet Elvis says:

I’m a huge BTS fan, but honestly, that collab is not my fave. I don’t care much for Coldplay. Throw in how bad the audio and camerawork was during that performance. Awful zoom outs and cuts away ruined the visuals imo.

  8. Laalaa says:

Jojo Siwa is just amazing. And I am 33.

  9. Mina_Esq says:

She looks gorgeous in that white snowqueen/St. Nicholas ‘fit. Could it be that she is one of only a select few that can pull off bangs?!

  10. Eleonora says:

I watched for BTS, but also enjoyed some of the other celebrities.

Wish Megan Thee Stallion had been there.

  11. jferber says:

I love Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion. I think Megan didn’t attend because a rapper friend had just been murdered.

  12. jferber says:

Her friend’s name was Young Dolph and he was just 36 years old. Very sad.

  13. lulz says:

Simu Liu is so fake lmao y’all need to listen to the people in the Canadian industry. He’s now playing the king of asian activism when he stepped on every asian he could find just to get a spot on the limelight. Anyway, won’t give any more of my time to that MRAsian.

Cardi’s Jojo Siwa bit was so adorable. I love Jojo as an icon of LGBT acceptance, though I’m too old to listen to her music.

  14. Faye G says:

I’m not a fan of Coldplay so I thought I’d dislike My Universe but, I actually love it! Sure there were technical issues but the performance was awesome as the 1st live BTS stage since the pandemic started.

I can’t wait to see them in concert next week!!
