Serena Williams was really looking forward to this awards season. She was proud of King Richard, she was proud of the film that was made and the story that was told, her own story and Venus’s story and part of Richard Williams’s story and part of Oracene Price’s story. Venus and Serena both wanted it to be about their family and their journey and this wonderful film. But Jane Campion decided to say sh-t and then Will Smith overshadowed the entire Oscar telecast with The Smack. I hope Serena and Alexis still got a chance to party, although judging from how uncomfortable she looked in this Versace dress at the Vanity Fair party, probably not.
Venus Williams chose another white dress for the Oscar parties. I understand why this one wasn’t for the Oscars – her Elie Saab at the Oscars was sexy and goddess-y. This one is something she can dance in. (Once again, Vee was styled better the whole night.)
Demi Singleton (who plays Serena in King Richard) wore Paco Rabanne to the VF party. The dress is awful but I enjoy the fact that Demi is so interested in fashion, and she’s been having so much fun with all of this.
Saniyya Sidney’s dress is maybe Armani? It’s very cute and she’s adorable. She was one of the first people to congratulate Will after he won his Oscar, and she posed with him for a bit at the VF party too.

Saniyya and Demi were the best dressed of the night IMO. Since they are not big stars (yet) her dresses were unfairly overshadowed. I also like the ones for the after party, even the Paco Rabanne one.

I understand why Serena sometimes wears these little show girl outfits,its because of the comments she gets due her ‘muscular frame ‘ ,i think she over compensates on trying to ‘look feminine ‘ for her critics. There are many designs that can do her justice.

Saniyya’s dress is GORGEOUS. Love the colors and how it fits her. I think I like Serena’s VF dress better than Venus’s, but Venus looks more comfortable.
I love it, too! Absolutely beautiful. It looks like the skirt is maybe able to move and swing the way it appears to be away from the bodice. It would be amazing to wear!
I love Serena’s dress, but it makes my boobs hurt just looking at it. And I actually think Demi’s dress is cute! I don’t know why, because I have every reason to hate it (I’m generally very anti-ruffles and peplums). Probably just one of those things where it works for her because you can tell she feels glam in it.

She does look uncomfortable – I’m top-heavy and having sympathy pains looking at the pictures. I love the look from her fingers down and her shoulders up. How she sat/leaned/breathed/reached forward to hug someone, I’ll never know. Probably because I share a bra size with her but not her elite athleticism, fashion sense, financial success and mental toughness.
Serena’s hair is what I’m loving. So flattering.

I’m so used to people saying negative things about Serena’s build that I never realized she has an actual hourglass figure. The dress isn’t great but if she loves it, well good for her. I’m sure her night was basically ruined by the fresh prince.

Venus is killing it. Loved her whole look all night. Demi’s Oscar look and Saniyya’s after party green are gorgeous too. I like the concept of Serena’s dress but that bust doesn’t fit right. She has a great figure and the dress isn’t doing it justice.
I am so distracted by what Serena did to her face. I think she looks so much like every other Instagram model and celebrity, which isn’t a compliment. 🙁 It’s funny though, as I approach 40, I’m seeing friends/acquaintances start to do stuff to their faces too. Again, everyone turns into the same generic face…..
I was coming to say the same thing, her face work is distractingly bad.
I was thinking the same about her face but wonder if it’s bad make up? It looks very … not the right foundation match or something. Or perhaps over highlighted? She’s far more beautiful than that makeup.

I feel like her face has been looking like that for awhile. I was wondering if I was being crazy, so I googled pics of her from the early 00s. She definitely made changes. Like I said, it’s too be she’s morphed into everyone else. I understand the pressure, though, to look a certain way – especially since she’s faced so many obstacles nobody else has.
Serena’s legs are her best feature so I’m all for her showing them off. As long as she was comfortable with the corstery, I say go for it! Though the way she’s holding her arms suggest she is slightly uncomfortable in the bust area.

Serena looks gorgeous like the badass goddess she is. It’s interesting that people think women with breasts need to not show them high and proud, especially muscular women. In my opinion, she doesn’t look uncomfortable. She looks fantastic.
What in the world is happening with the top half of Venus’s dress??? It’s so weird to me, I just do not get it.
The dress Serena wore reminds me of the look of Tina Turner in the 1980s. In that way, I like it. Otherwise, I have also worn many dresses that I like the idea of but that do not work with my body shape. Silver is a great color for her highness.
