Nicole Kidman wore a flesh-colored Gucci to the premiere of A Family Affair. Nicole does this consistently, she wears too-pale looks and I hate it. [Just Jared]

I’m guessing Nicole doesn’t have a stylist because I can’t believe anyone being paid would advise her to wear flesh toned clothes with her complexion.

    • Seraphina says:

I mean one would think she would be able to see it’s flesh tone too and not need a stylist for it but who knows. This looks awful. At least her face is looking more “natural”. I think she is a beauty so I am glad to see her laying off whatever it was she was doing.

      • Erin says:

I’m so jealous of her flawless skin, especially her chest. Basically no sun damage. I curse my teenage self every time I look at mine 😫.

    • TRex says:

@Amy Bee – Agreed! I have no idea why she insists on dressing in colours where she disappears! I’ve seen her in person while living in Singapore (her sister lived there for a bit) and she’s beyond beautiful – BUT these flesh cool colours do nothing for her

    • Josephine says:

I do not look good in gray. Yet I keep buying and wearing it. I don’t know what it is, but I love it. I feel like Nicole wears what she wants to wear. I don’t mind the pale dress. I don’t think it does as much for her as another color would, but my guess is that she loved it and that was enough to wear it.

  2. Becks1 says:

I actually really like the dress itself but the color is not good for her. Even a pale blue or purple would have been better.

  3. Bettyrose says:

I’ll never understand why natural redheads go blonde. I can see going a deeper shade of red, but why waste such a beautiful, unique complexion on Hollywood conformity?

    • Tiffany :) says:

Because when gray hairs come in, blonde hides it. If she was deep red, she’d probably have white roots quickly.

      • Josephine says:

funny, because I am a natural blonde who went red when the gray hair hit. My gray is very ashy and the red is so much easier.

    • North of Boston says:

      Possibly :

Reds can be tough colors to keep up professionally and look good, if like many performers the person is having a colorist enhance their look

Many natural redheads find their color shifts as they age, to more of a sandy blonde for lighter reds (like Nicole’s) or an auburn, light brown for darker reds

She may enjoy being a blonde ATM

    • Snoozer says:

Nicole is actually a natural strawberry blond (very strawberry). She was never a deep red naturally.

Redheads get blonder and blonder as they age and the pigment fades from their hair and then their hair turns white. They don’t go grey.

Dying your hair red (especially from white) is extremely fraught as it more often than not looks fake).

I prefer her as a redhead too, but I wish she’d take really good care of her curls and lean into being more of a white than a yellow blonde. She had an amazing curly grey wig for Top of the Lake and she looked incredible. I’d love to see her do a white / blonde version of what Andy McDowell has going on.

I just think the pressures of Hollywood for women to look young are probably too strong.

      • terra says:

My great-grandmother was one of seven daughters, all with natural red hair. None of her three children inherited her red hair. Neither did any of her nine grandchildren. Of the six great-grandchildren, I am the only redhead.

I’m losing pigment the same way my grandmother has always told me her mother and aunts did: I’m going silver, not gray. It’s a bitch and a half to cover, let me tell you. I’ve given up trying. Silver temples, it is.

Tom Hardy does the bear minimum because that’s his schtick. He’s supposed to be the quintessential working-class rough trade bad boy, so he shows up to a premiere looking like he hasn’t showered in weeks, and without wearing a suit because in a way he’s always performing a character. Honestly, all celebrities do that to some degree.

I’m not justifying it, though. As an actual Poor™ person, I hate it when rich or even just middle-class people do this bohemiam cosplay. Just be yourself. Or a version of yourself, at least. No need to pretend you come from a poor background when you didn’t.

Man I ran over here to see a late in the day Kate update. Lol

  6. Wally says:

Proud follower of the Brat Pack. And @NorthofBoston, redheads!

Molly Ringwald helped me to understand that sometimes the redheads do win!

  7. Bread and Circuses says:

    I think it’s valid?

In a world where many actors grab attention by being as close to naked as possible on the red carpet, she’s grabbing attention by *appearing* to be naked when she’s fully dressed.

It’s a choice, and not necessarily a bad one.

  8. Edogfemme says:

I have zero stylist credentials, but I would consistently put Nicole Kidman in jewel tone, if I styled her.

  9. wolfmamma says:

With all her money you’d think she could find a great stylist. Sometimes like this time – her choices are really unfortunate.

  10. BeanieBean says:

Now I’ve got Sly and the Family Stone 🎤🎼 running through my head. 🙂 Not a bad thing!

  11. Annalise says:

Nicole wore Gucci and a WHOLE new face!

  12. maisie says:

that outfit does absolutely nothing for her. I hate the bodice, the colour is way too pale for her. and whatever’s going on with that necklace makes her neck look all crepey.

  13. Hypocrisy says:

That thumbnail photo I thought was an old photo of the mom from the “Home Alone” movies🫣 just how much work has Nicole had done😳

  14. Hereforthegossip says:

Nicole just got a new stylist Jason Bolden not too long ago so I’m waiting with bated breath for him to put her in color and beautiful prints bc he has dressed Gabrielle Union, Taraji, and Michael B Jordan so I’m excited that she is working with someone new and that she hired a black stylist bc Law and Bolden have talked EXTENSIVELY for years about how Hollywood and the fashion industry excludes black stylists.

  15. CityGirl says:

That Monique Lhullieher collection is absolutely gorgeous! I hope it marks the end of the naked dresses but maybe just wishful thinking on my part
