Review of Emily In Paris’s Season 4 Part 2. I watched the whole season over the weekend & I loved it so much. This show is so low-stakes, silly & completely enjoyable. That being said, I love all of the jokes about Emily’s visa situation. [Pajiba]

Does Emily speak French yet? How long is her Visa for? Is season 5 when she gets into financial trouble for charging all of those clothes she wears to her credit card?

  2. No she isn’t speaking French yet to her detriment. I think things will get worse before they get better.

Amber Nicole Thurman’s death is the sign of a third world country, where either the medical technology to save lives is not available or is deliberately withheld to marginalize poor people. Please everyone, especially those of you in swing states, make sure that you and everyone you know who is likely to vote Blue are registered to vote.

Emily In Paris is such fun and please give me more Sylvie, Luc and Julien story lines.

I binged Emily in Paris and now I feel a void—too few episodes. Cannot wait until next season! My question for everyone: Marcello or Gabriel? Why am I still team Gabriel? Why can’t she learn French? I am learning it via Duolingo.

    • Kimmy says:

I hate that we’ll have to wait 2 more years likely for season 5

    • Abbie says:

Still team Gabriel although that skiing scene was so ridiculous I ended up laughing at the dumb absurdity. Like they could have come up with a better excuse to break them up again because clearly the whole plot is always something getting in the way of the two of them.

Marcello is basically a prop and it amuses me that everyone suddenly likes him when there is literally nothing to like, we don’t know anything about him other than he’s rich and Italian, lmao. I do have bad experience with sleazy Italian men though, who were all schmoozing and flirting womanizers without much substance, so I may be biased, lol.

Oof. Guess I am alone on the “I Hate Emily in Paris” island. More correctly, I just can’t stand Emily. Her character is so Mary Sue I cannot take it…and I usually love Mary Sues, lol. Every man wants her! Every good woman wants to befriend her! Every bad woman is jealous of her!

My teen daughter dragged me thru the first 3 seasons but i have put my foot down. I will not watch any more! 😹

I don’t hate it because I haven’t watched it. But I haven’t watched it because the promos I’ve seen are so cringe. I loved Gilmore Girls in its day, but the witty, sexy brunette who can get away with anything trope is so over for me.

    • goofpuff says:

Same here. I can’t stand her character and I also love Mary Sues.

    • Asdf says:

She really is a terrible friend and girlfriend.

    • Hannah says:

@ KittenMon I watched S1 and about 2 eps of S2 (Emily in Paris) before quitting it. I won’t be tuning into any further seasons. You’re not alone. I find Lily Collins nauseating – it’s 100% a *me* thing cause I know so many people are loving it

    • Grant says:

I don’t really think Emily is a Mary Sue. She’s very good at her job but she’s not “perfect” at it, or in her life. I also think she gets humbled pretty regularly on the show, usually by Sylvie and literally everyone who dunks on her fashion every other episode.

    • Abbie says:

You’re not really, but I suspect most people actually dislike Emily and watch for everything and everyone else. I too in fact hate her character and think Lily Collins’ acting is atrocious but honestly, it’s still all hilarious and fun so I keep watching. And the French actors are all fab, love them all and their characters. Oh Mindy too. In fact if Emily disappeared from the show I bet no one would care and we’d still watch, lol.

  7. Traveller says:

I love Paris so much that I’d watch Emily in Paris just to spend some vicarious time there.
But it also turns out I enjoy the silly, soap-opera storylines and over-the-top fashion too. Luc cracks me up!

  8. Diamond Rottweiler says:

It’s mostly delightful mind candy. Though given all the leads read on camera as people creeping up on 40, there is some cognitive dissonance in them all flailing around like they have the inner lives of 23 yr olds. But oh well.

    • Grant says:

I don’t think any of the characters are supposed to be 23. They’re all working professionals so I think they’re supposed to be 30 or approaching.

      • Diamond Rottweiler says:

Yes, that’s what I mean. The main leads all read as in their mid 30s, but their messy hijinks read to me as junior year drama. Nonetheless, it’s a great sugary snack in these anxious times. And I hope Marcello is actual end game but think I will probably be disappointed. Also, having been lucky enough to work in both France & Italy, better to go to Italy for the sex AND the food. (Sorry, France. Love you, but it’s true lol).

  9. Mina_Esq says:

First of all, Mindy Chen is iconic. Secondly, Emily makes the worst romantic decisions. When she lost it on Gabriel in the mountains, it was a “yaaas, girl, finally” moment. So yes, I am entertained by the low-stakes and silly storylines, thankyouverymuch.

  10. AC says:

Oh my gosh I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the last couple of episodes of Emily in Paris since last week – esp after the kids are asleep. It’s a fun show that we need once in awhile 😀.

  11. Mochi says:

I do not like the show, but have seen all the episodes. My mindless entertainment. I finally realized that Gabriel has no personality at all. I cannot believe we are supposed to root for him and Emily. I would never!!! Mon dieu!
I wonder if she will pull a Kelly (Beverly Hills 90210) and choose herself and ditch both dudes. That said, Emily in Rome is better than Emily in Paris (for now).

  12. StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

Emily in Paris is light and fun, crazy storyline and over the top fashion in a fantastic location. I love the cast! Cant wait for S5

  13. Pusha says:

Absolutely what we need in these troubled times! Beautiful people, beautiful clothes, good soundtrack. More Sylvie being a badass, please! So what ithe show has soooooo many issues (like .. the French agency people speak Italian! Why do they speak in English with an Italian client just because one of their employees can’t understand both of these languages?? How can she afford the clothes? How does Mindy afford her wardrobe but can’t pay for rent so she still lives with Emily!!! So many plot holes! But I love it.
