Who had the best Prada at the 2026 Met Gala: Hunter Schafer or Amanda Seyfried?

There were so many celebrities in basic beautiful gowns last night. Amanda Seyfried was so pretty in pink Prada and Tiffany jewels, but she could wear this on any red carpet, right? This gown really needs pockets at least.

I’m giving this round to Hunter Schafer, whose distressed Prada gown referenced Klimt’s 1912 work Mäda Primavesi. I think the flowers at the bustline need to be multicolor though. The interpretation is little too muted, but I get how they wanted it to look cohesive. I love how they worked the background of the painting into her dress through the cutouts. Hunter is a Prada ambassador.

Karina from aespa wore a Prada gown inspired by a traditional Korean hanbok. This is really striking and I love the photo of her posing with the exhibit!

Damson Idris, Nicholas Hoult and Troye Sivan were also in Prada! Damson has the best menswear look. Nicolas looks hot with that shaved head but his look is kind of goofy.

Damson is hot! I get what your saying about the Prada worn by Amanda and Hunter. Amanda’s dress is “prettier,” but Hunter’s was more daring, risk-taking. I agree that the flowers at the bustline should be different colors. I know in these crazy times, it seems somehow besides the point to be talking about fashion. I just read the news and that the Supreme Court is allowing Southern States to re-district for their dangerous gerrymandering schemes. Congress is on hiatus. ICE will be at the polls in November. Voting by ballot will be limited. It’s hard to try to live a normal life while Trump is rigging the election. The Met Gala is a distraction, sure, but somehow talking about couture seems besides the point. Like re-arranging chairs on the Titanic? Panic and distraction.

And Trump was just saying the other day that if a city or state needs to hold multiple elections to “get it right,” they will have to. He followed it by saying that GOP will get 20 more seats, so it certainly sounds as though he will deem any elections that don’t fit that pre-determined goal as invalid.
We are definitely not in a democracy anymore.

We vote exclusively by mail in Hawaii & we are one of eight states that do so. No way can that be changed by a trumpian EO. Just no.

Amanda Seyfried looks beautiful – that dress is a great color on her, hair and makeup are beautiful, etc.

but…..yeah, its boring. That could be a dress for the Globes or Oscars as much as the Met gala.

    Hunter’s dress is gorgeous.

    • Normades says:

Yea pink dress is totally giving Oscar nominee « this was my safe choice ».

Hunter went for the theme so it’s a win over the basic. I’m gonna have to give wins to people going for it even if it doesn’t land all the way. Karina was good too.

So, please forgive me if I say I like so and so’s look and then someone points out that he/she is an awful person! I’ve been out of the loop for some time; I’m going by looks only. I suppose I could google to find out more about the individual, but I’m too in recovery mode from surgery to bother! I didn’t particularly like Hunter’s dress. But I loved her attitude. I watched it on video and saw that she seemed modest and wanted to get the posing over with. Her face is lovely. She has a real sweetness.

  5. Sue says:

Amanda could get any designer to dress her and she went with senior prom. Whyyyyy? It is such a fun and wide ranging theme to work with. Why be so boring?
Hunter has one of the best on theme looks of the night – I love that she went with Klimt as did Gracie Abrams.

    Damson looks 🔥🔥🔥

  7. NotSoSocialB says:

The length of Hoult’s jacket is both criminal and an abomination. He looks like a poseable toy, or worse- like he pooped himself.

  8. Ambel says:

What is the point of your being at the Met Gala if you’re not going to try to be on theme (looking at you, Amanda Seyfried)?

  9. Kirsten says:

Hunter looks great and her dress is not a wow dress but a solid interpretation of the theme. Everyone else here is a total miss.

  10. BeanieBean says:

Huh. Starting to think some of these designers were sent photos of the exhibition ahead of time.

  11. Ollie says:

I thought Carey Mulligan wore the best Prada. Some may have thought it boring but I thought it was classy

  12. Grant says:

I think Nicholas looks great – to me his look is channeling Tom of Finland, who was a prominent gay artist, so I love it and think it totally fits the theme.

The rest of the looks are kind of MEH to me. I HATE Hunter’s dress. Looks like it got eaten up by rats in certain places.
