Of all the many many descriptions I can think of for this girl, “feminist hero” is just not among them.

  2. anni says:

    again…who?

  3. LicketySplit says:

I think the entire NY Times article was supposed to be sarcastic. Of course Heidi isn’t a feminist… anything. C’mon now!

  4. AC says:

yeah they didn’t say she was they said she was ALMOST LIKE a feminist hero. they weren’t being serious. they were basically saying… if anything – compared to what she’s surrounded by she’s almost like a feminist hero. People are so stupid.

  5. ACK! says:

    The terrorists have won.

  6. RC says:

this author is notorious for pointing out the dumbest possible feminist icons to prove that feminism is dead. and please – heidi, if she were a feminist, is way too second wave to like hooks. friedan is dated enough to be plausible.

  7. JayBird says:

RC the point there was that Heidi wouldn’t know who any of those women are in the first place. Because she’s neither a feminist nor intelligent.

  8. alarmjaguar says:

Sigh, I really thought this was going to be an April Fool’s day joke…

  9. GirlyGirl says:

JayBird, you can say that again!

  10. Codzilla says:

Yeah, I think the “I’ll have to get back to you” quote sums it up perfectly. You don’t have to be a hardcore academic to come up with a few women you respect on the spot. Even one name! What a moron.

  11. Megan says:

    WHY is this girl famous??

  12. Loob says:

““Spencer was ecstatic,” says Heidi. “He’s proud of whatever I do.””

That implies that neither of them really know what she does. Hee 😀

  13. Bodhi says:

Why did Spencer have to call a friend? Is he not rich/cool enough to have an iPhone? Cause THATS what really matters to me :eyeroll:
