Did Nikki Reed just call Robert Pattinson a liar & confirm a feud with Kristen Stewart?

I have some affection for Nikki Reed as a relatively nice-seeming castmember of the Twilight franchise. I haven’t seen an interview with her before. So I was surprised by the fact that she has a kind of a nasally, mildly annoying voice. Nikki takes the cover of Seventeen’s December/January issue, which we first saw a preview of six weeks ago.

Seventeen released a behind-the-scenes video of Nikki’s interview and photoshoot (above) and she gives some totally unremarkable comments about what she’ll miss about her Twilight costars. She says that Kristen Stewart makes good desserts, that Robert Pattinson tells elaborate stories and is a “good storyteller,” that Taylor Lautner has a lot of energy, and that Kellan Lutz is a goofball. Ashley Greene gives her workout tips and fashion advice (I get the impression that she’s a mini-Goop) and Jackson Rathbone jams out with her now-husband, former AI contestant Paul McDonald.

So everything Nikki said was diplomatic and my impression of her as a nice person was confirmed. If you read between the lines on what she said in the actual interview she may be hinting at some kind of issues with her costars. She said (and we covered this a while ago) that “success comes along and changes the dynamic. We’re not all best friends, and we’re not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done.” She also claimed in that video interview that what she’ll miss about Twilight is the time at the beginning of filming, when everything was innocent.

HollywoodLife claims that in this video Nikki disses Robert Pattinson as a liar and confirms a feud with him and his now-girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. GossipCop calls them out for drawing spurious conclusions, and I agree that they’re really reaching with that one. That doesn’t mean that there’s no feud though.

Quick background: Rumor has it that Nikki dated Robert Pattinson before Kristen Stewart and that Kristen and Nikki were friends back then. Kristen had another boyfriend at the beginning of filming, who was also friends with Nikki prior to when Kristen dumped him and hooked up with Robert. (Not necessarily in that order and more background is here.) So there’s probably bad blood there but I doubt they’re seething at each behind the scenes.

I think the most telling thing in Seventeen, though, is this first person work of “fiction” Nikki wrote about a young girl in love with a charismatic guy who convinced her that they should keep their romance a secret:

It had been almost a year since we began dating, but nobody knew about us. Sometimes I would bring it up casually, but he always found a way to twist and turn his words until they morphed into a theory that seemed to make sense. He was good with his words, and I was good at coming up with reasons to believe them. Only a few friends at school were allowed to know about us, and they were mostly hand selected by him.

At the time it made sense, because he was convincing when he spoke about privacy being a persons number one priority. Sometimes I would tell him half jokingly that I wanted to scream it out to the world on a megaphone, because that’s what being in love made me feel like doing. He never smiled at that. Although my mom sensed there was something unusually dark about him, I always argued that it was self-induced. Besides, I couldn’t let myself believe that I was too good for him. He was endlessly charming, and intelligent, and philosophical beyond his years. At least that’s how he would secretly want to be described.

I knew I loved him, and that’s all that mattered. Sure I wasn’t the prettiest girl in the world, but he always said he liked me for that very reason, so I felt content with that. Most of the time that is. One time, I gathered the courage to sing a song in front of him in the lunch room (I had always loved singing), and he laughed and said “…that’s what’s so great about you; even though you aren’t a good singer, you’re not afraid to try.” That’s a compliment right?

[From Seventeen, written by Nikki Reed]

That to me is way more revealing than the fact that she called Robert a good story teller. She’s married at this point, so you would think she’d be over this though. Maybe that explains why she got married so quickly in the first place.

All of that tabloid bullshit started with Ted Casablanca who was fed by crazy Robsten fanatics. They sold real life fanfiction as insider info on his board circa 2009 and he used it to fill his Robsten-columns that have secured his job. The media repeated that nonsense over the years and now it has become the fact.

What no one is telling is Nikki’s and Kristen’s too close relationship that was hindering the showmance with Pattinson, so studio ordered Nikki out of the “triangle” so they could spin this pathetic relationship to sell the Twifilms.

Kristen and Nikki were a couple, but Twihards can’t handle a gay Bella. Pattinson also has his gay hook ups.

As a Twilizzle fan fully aware that the movies and books are crap, I have to say I love what you are saying and I totally believe this could be the true story.

Except I think that RpattZ is bi. He has some hetero qualities that really stand out to me so I believe that he is an equal opportunist who leans slightly more towards girls at the moment.

As for k-Stew, I believe the same thing about he. Nikki has a wild LA life that she has recently claimed wasn’t true, but I’m pretty sure I remember reading in my Vogue magazine when Thirteen came out (and I have a twenty year Vogue collection so I will check) that Nikki said the movie was based on her.

Of course it could all be utter crap either way,but it’s the kind of crap tha makes my gossipy day.

      • Obvious says:

Your are correct, Nikki cowrote 13. However, Evan Rachel Wood played the Nikki character. Nikki got to play the wild child.

    • normades says:

I like this. Can’t confirm or co-sign but love the conspiracy. I have never thought Robsten was real.

    • talia says:

haha, I love that you traded in one set of fanfiction from Ted and his crazy shippers with your own set of fanfiction.

    • CG says:

I’ve heard that RPattz and KStew are both bi. And @TheOriginalVictoria, I def remember reading at the time Thirteen came out that Nikki said it was based on her life.

    • Eileen says:

True or not, I prefer this explanation much more. lol

  2. emma says:

I think fans, the media and Nikki give this whole thing way too much attention. They all need to get a life and allow Rob and Kristen to live theirs. I don’t think her marriage will last because she’s obsessed with either Rob or Kristen or both.

  3. David says:

    I like her!

  4. Angb says:

Love Kristen. This seems stupid and not a real story.

  5. Naye in VA says:

This is really a LOT of speculation about a couple of sentences. That story doesnt even seem a likely link to what people think might have happened. I think Nikki moved on, she spoke diplomatically about her co-stars and everyone is trying to make it something it isnt. She must have to ham it up for her poor husband every night trying to stave off this ridiculousness from killing her marriage.
She talks about it the way someone cautiously talks about a friend they fell out with, without sounding bitter

    • G says:

Agree. In every group and on every set, especially in young Hollywood, there is ALWAYS going to be some drama. Whatever happened behind the scenes is something we’ll all just have to guess at, but it seems to me that Nikki has indeed moved on and is happy with where she’s at. Given that the bit of fiction was somewhat pointed, I think it’s just a last inside poke at whoever it’s meant for, but that’s it.

  6. DavidBowie says:

I love that creme colored coat!

  7. normades says:

I think she sounds bitter about the twihard stuff. She’s gotta be kinda jealous that Kristin is getting A-list offers while her career has stalled. But seriously, if she wasn’t friends with catherine hardwicke she would have never have been in those films – she’s totally miscast. The only role she would have been suited for is maybe the Anna Kendrick role.

But I think the fiction fluff is about someone else.

  8. gia says:

I think “fans” get way too into the possible sexual aspect of whatever went down, whether nikki was with kristen or rob.(Doubt the kristen/nikki aspect, nikki was good friends with kristen’s ex bf).

What I think really went down between them in terms of bad blood is that Nikki was the more well known actress on set with Twilight, and with CH at the helm, she had a more high profile role with twilight promotion. I’m sure it didn’t hurt that K and R were close to her too. Then whatever went down, she lost that status. Ashley became the no. 2 go-to girl and reaped a lot of professional rewards, while Nikki was left in the dust. I don’t buy any of them are pining away or bitter over losing a friend/bf whatever, it’s that her falling out with R/K limited her professionally. I don’t think there’s a villain here, just young kids and usual high school drama.

    • mln76 says:

I think that’s the best theory yet.

    • TG says:

I don’t get it though. I think Nikki is very sexy and I have only seen her in a few roles but she was really good in Mimi’s First Time. If she finds a good marketing team she could be doing better than either KStew or Ashley. Wonder how they feel about Anna Kendrick running away with all the attention though during last years (was it last year?) awards season.

      • gia says:

beauty and talent are a dime a dozen in hollywood though. What you need is a lucky opportunity or break I think.

      • normades says:

True that gia, or the right family.

      • kim says:

@Gia No. what you need is a ruthless publicist/management team. Say what you want about the kartrashians, but I would hire Kris Jenner to manage me any day of the week.

  9. NotaBitterBetty says:

Wow, talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. I honestly can’t see anything remotely controversial about any of the stuff she said, it seems outlets such as HollywoodLife and Ted C continue to try and stir the pot and incite Rob/Kristen 4eva! fans because of the number of hits they’ll get. The Twihards and their fanatical love for Pattison and Stewart are scary.

  10. atlantapug says:

How did they make such a pretty girl look so old and ugly by slapping a blonde wig on her?
I agree that she is miscast as Rosalie. They should have used an actress who looks beautiful with blonde hair. Nikki looks like a tranny in that hideous blonde wig.
As to the “triangle” crap, I have no clue and don’t really care.

    • TG says:

I agree Nikki is very sexy to me but she looks horrible as Rosalie. I pictures Rosalie as a very beautiful blonde woman but not a nikki.

    • cici says:

blonde is NOT appealing on Nikki. In the books, Rosalie was supposed to be the most beautiful – beyond anyone’s comprehension – and in the movie, she’s the oddest looking because they tried to make someone who does not look good blonde, into a blonde. ugh

      • Claire78 says:

Completely agree. While gorgeous, she just wasn’t right for the part and her hair (and most of the others) got worst with each movie – especially Jackson Rathbone. Wish I had her legs though!!

  11. Oi says:

    She looks like a Middleton.

  12. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

She also resembles Julia’s niece Emma.

  13. ladybert62 says:

She is much prettier than Kristen.

  14. Eileen says:

She looks like a cross between Demi Moore and Ali Lohan. Hmmmmmmm…..

  15. a says:

She looks a little like Amanda Peet.

  16. Seal Team 6 says:

LOVE Nikki Reed. She’s talented, sexy, smart, and kinda scary in a hot, sexy, scary way. Plus, she has the best gams in Hollywood.

She and Kristen The Mopey Hack Stewart were pals back in the day. I guess she was able to overcome the brainwashing.

  17. Ell says:

Robert P is who he appears to be, a straight forward guy. He worked on my friend’s tv screenplay, she was on set a lot. People try so hard to create intrigue when it’s just not there.

  18. Jane says:

LOL People are so desperate for drama. Sad.

  19. Zelda says:

There was a BI once about the main actor in a franchise who is now in a high profile relationship with the other star, but that he used to be in a more secretive one at the beginning of filming with a costar that plays his sister in the movies. The BI said they were still hooking up, unbeknownst to their significant others.
I wish I could remember where that BI came from, because it fits so well…
    It’s about a month or two old…
    Anyone else know?

    • NM9005 says:

It’s from Enty (CDAN). I can’t waddle through his archives (no time and his site is difficult to navigate through anyway). His New Years reveals are coming up so you can check it (it’s obvious he was hinting at those three though).

      • jess says:

I wouldnt belive everything you read on CDAN, he said that one of the twilight girls is pregnant and would be announcing it soon and that never happened. Also, hes friends with Nikki.

      • NM9005 says:

I don’t. Ted C and Enty are less reliable for me. I like BG blinds and Lainey blinds. Enty is ok but as with all blinds, you need to take it with a grain of salt of course.

  20. Devon says:

Rob and Nikki were dating/hooking up during the first film and Nikki and Kristen were best friends. Kristen had a boyfriend but the sparks were flying between her and Rob. She breaks up with her boyfriend and Rob dropped Nikki like a hot potato to start hooking up with Kristen. She lost her best friend and her boyfriend/f&ck buddy. I’d be pissed too.

    • danielle says:

I think you nailed in here.

    • femaleQ says:

      Agree!!

    • NM9005 says:

Exactly. It’s like highschool drama and it would fit. They were all young, riding high, emotions get mixed up and it all falls apart. BUT it’s TOO normal for gossip, people need to spin it into bisexual fairytales and crap. Combine that with Ted C blinds and it’s off the chain :D .

Also co-sign with the original victoria

  21. TheOriginalVictoria says:

I just don’t understand why people don’t want to believe that as nice of a guy as RPattz seems and as straightforward and self-deprecating as he is, he is not ABOVE playing the game like everyone else. He is now an official star.

I think he is very reluctant to be a star, but he is playing the game. They all do. Haven’t we learnt this lesson by being members of this awesome blog that it’s all smoke and mirrors, even we think are the most genuine are not above playing?

The chemistry between Rob and Kristin is undeniable. You can’t fake that but I do believe he and Nikki were dating because Kristin was unavailable at the time and he was using Nikki to deal with it.

    • shari says:

they were all very young too. You can’t stick a bunch of young, extremely attractive, and hormonal actors on a set for several months and not expect there to be some romantic and crushing overlaps and toe stepping. They’ve all seemed to mature a bit since then, Rob seems more mature, Kristen seems like a hard worker, Nikki seems to be in a good place too.

  22. Mia girl says:

Ive got to disagree. I’ve seen quite a few interviews and she is not “nice-seeming” at all. In fact, I get a totally bitter vibe from her. Plus I read once that her behavior got her barred from the New Moon set for a couple of weeks. Lainey had all that gossip back then bc supposedly it was Reed herself leaking set info.

I agree with others that I think her beef is more professional-related than emotional stuff. The relationship issues masked that she was probably upset from day one of filming… I mean she was very close w Katherine Hardawick, and yet she wasn’t able to score the role of Bella. The gossip is she is difficult, and after seeing Breaking Dawn, I’m more likely now to believe that because her role in the book is pretty important and yet in the movie, she had like three lines. So i wonder if she’s built up enough bad blood (no pun intended) that her role was not featured as it could have been.

In her defense, if they made me wear a tranny wig I’d be pissed too.

  23. Rachel says:

Personally, I’ve always thought Nikki sounded a bit bitter…She’s very talented, but Ashley Greene is the one who is getting all the attention outside of Rob, Taylor, and Kristen…Her bitterness always seemed more directed at Rob Pattinson than Kristen Stewart. I like Rob Pattinson, he seems like a decent enough guy, but I’m kind of surprised by so many people who get all up in arms and keeps saying “he’s nice, he treated Nikki fine.” Look, they were all super young and it seemed like high school/college drama. I don’t really buy all the Ted Casablancas drama that he creates, but I do buy that Rob was hooking up with Nikki and dropped her like a hot potato to go after Kristen Stewart (who had been underage for a bit, I remember Catherine Hardwicke talking about she warned Rob Pattinson about Kristen being underage and I was super surprised that she actually said that to a magazine). I kind of think Rob comes out the worst out of all in this situation. The director pretty much confirmed he had the hots for an underage Kstew and yet he was hooking up with her best friend. That said, he was like 21 and and when you are 21 you think with the wrong head sometimes.

    • CC says:

Doubt he would get into too much trouble over a 4 year difference. But correct me about the correct age difference where it’s still acceptable for an underage and someone over 18 to date (I don’t feel like looking it up). But I guess the director wouldn’t even want to deal with the trouble and having to deal with that part.

      • TheOriginalVictoria says:

I don’t think I’m wrong about this but I know in Pennsylvania if the minor is 16 or 17 and within four years of the age difference, it’s not criminal??? And of course, parents consenting, as we see with Courtney Sotdden’s trifling ass mom, also makes it okay.

      • TheOriginalVictoria says:

  24. jess says:

I remember reading an article about nikki and how she changes friends every couple of years. the paps have admitted that nikki was the one that would call them and let them know where the cast was having dinner and its also rumored that she was giving scoops to ted casablanca and lainey. I think those comments she made in 17 mag offended the rest of the twi-cast cause if you go to youtube and type twilight cast on Ellen their is this 38 second clip at the end of the show where they are all standing around and everyone else is talking/dancing with each other while nikki is standing all by herself and taylor at one point even turns his back to her and he was the cast member that was at her wedding. So as much as nikki wants to play the victim she brought all the hate on herself. Shes bitter and it will end her marriage. For the record, I think her and rob were more like fwb then anything else and it was pretty obvious from the beginning that rob and had a thing for kristen and there is no way that nikki could have not known that so if she was fooling anyone it was only herself.

  25. antipodean says:

It’s no good have to say something, who the hell cares, they are just a bunch of kids shoved into the limelight, and they are doing no more or less than any other person of their age group. once the final part of the Twilight series has been shown, I have no doubt all will be forgotten and some other young up and coming piece of eye candy will be the focus of everyone’s attention. Let the fiction remain with the movies, and let them play their day to day humdrum lives out, let’s face they ain’t that interesting,

  26. ohbiteme...please says:

Now I can see why there is a tiff here between the 2 girls. KS is miffed that NR spoke openly about Robert when they are very private. KS knows who her friends are.

  27. kimberly says:

I’ll always remember the cast of twilight because they went into book stores and would walk by the huge twilight displays. . . I didn’t know who they were at the time, but my nerdy friend did. . . the cast were total dorks . . . times have changed.

  28. celine says:

great fashion choices. no comparison to thal old prick k-stew.

  29. Roscoe says:

I kinda love her. She seems very nice and chill.

I’ve seen interviews with her before and she doesn’t usually sound this nasally; it almost sounds a bit muffled – I think it’s a problem with the sound quality/mixing.

  30. Saddie says:

They are all so young with so much H-wood celebrity status. Let’s see how it plays out over the next year. Let’s see if KS + RP even go the distance or not.
KS has no plans to marry anyone, maybe she’ll wed in her 30′s which is 9 years away. I think if she doesn’t agree to wed RP – he’ll move on if he can disengage. On the other hand maybe KS will end things?
