Can you imagaine the anxiety handing in your notice to Madonna must cause. I liken it to how little Oliver Twist must have felt when he asked for some more gruel. His little chin quivering “please Sir”. That Nanny was probably thanking her lucky stars Madge only told her to get out and didn’t have her flogged.

  2. gg says:

Unconcionable. She’s gone off the rails.

  3. mel says:

I am concerned about the kids having people in and out of their lives constantly. What kind of parent would send a nanny to select a child and have no interaction with that child. Now I understand why her and Britney are so close. Both need a psychiatrist on a daily basis.

  4. tony says:

    she’s not mother material.
what’s more she sounds truly selfish.

by the very fact that she carries young David around — is suspect. he’s not a baby anymore. and once a child can walk on his or her own 2 feet — usually that child wants to do just that. she really sounds like she’s using this boy as a prop for some media purpose. if the Malawi government doesn’t see that she has made them into her pawns in that media game, then shame on them. David would be much better off with his father in Malawi. At least there, he will be loved.

    Mommie Dearest, Part II.

I seriously hope her adoption of another child is denied.

  6. overit says:

OK, this woman should NOT be allowed to adopt another child. In fact they should take David Banda away from her. She makes Joan Crawford look like Mother Theresa. Not only does she set a bad example to her kids with her lifestyle (a 22 year old male model???? A-Rod, who has now been linked to HOOKERS????), she seems to pride herself on her “f*ck-you attitude to the people who make her wonderful life possible. And don’t get me started on her “career”, which seems to be nothing more than cheap sexual titillation, shoving her crotch in your face and working out 24/7. Her only God is making money because with money comes power. Speaking of religion, couple that with her hypocritical, whack-doodle Kaballah that seems to turn a blind eye to her egregious arrogance and tempermental behaviour and what do you get??? UNSUITABLE PARENT. She’s only doing this to make herself look like some kind of saint but she’s FAR from it.

I cant help but agee with overit, above. My main reaction is to feel for the younger children in particular, since currently there have been a lot of changes for them post-divorce. From the above photos, this Angela appears to be fun person, so i feel for David, especially as presumably Angela will have had to suddenly leave his home and without having time to try and explain to him that this is not because she doesnt like him any more . . . .
If I were in Madona’s situation i feel I would have done everything to continue with normality for the children’s sakes, and would have asked Angela’s advice as to how best to keep the children being happy and feeling secure. Surely MORE child-care was required, not less ??

  8. waldemar says:

I am a huge fan of her but that sentence about the assistant picking out a baby scared the hell out of me 2. God what is she thinking??

  9. dizzybenny says:

that’s why i was so AMAZED that she got custody of the kids over Guy Ritchie.
i would think that he would have brought a more “stable” lifestyle.
i’m sure he would have had nannies also but they would have seen him more.

  10. michellle says:

Not defending Madonna, but this sounds highly suspect. What control freak would permit a PA to choose her baby?

  11. geronimo says:

Yeah, I know Madge is on the crazy egotistical side but, objectively, surely we’re not really believing that she would send an assistant to pick out a child? Come on.

  12. Bobby the K says:

    ~

People here and elsewhere on the interweb go on about how awful Madge, Britney et. al. are.

And that’s fine, but they still fill stadiums on their tours and rake in millions and millions.

So a lot of people like them (don’t know why) and they make a ton of dough. So they are doing something right.

And if working for her, or anyone is such a drag, and I’m sure it would be. They should just quit.

  13. the original kate says:

wow – is this for real? ok, does anyone else remember the “abfab” episode where edina decides to adopt a romanian baby, and sends her assistant to romania and pick out a few for her to select from? it was hilarious in the show (thank you jennifer saunders!) but in real life… scary and disturbing.

  14. lrm says:

the baby picking thing aside, many employers tell their employees to leave right away once the give notice. it’s common, and unfortunately, the fact that it involves children doesn’t usually mean anything…not that it’s right, but don’t act like it’s exclusive to Madonna. companies do this all the time.

  15. paranel says:

It’s so fake to see Madonna carrying the boy on her hip pretending to be a loving mother when cameras are around. I bet the boy doesn’t even know her. She is only trying to imitate Angelina . But sadly She can’t love anybody but herself. I am baffled by how self centered this woman is.

  16. fabulous says:

wonder how much notice the nanny had to give..the article says she was told to leave two hours before she was to have a month off on annual leave. New (temporary) child care arrangements would have been in place already and at least David doesn’t have her coming and going for the next while.

  17. tooey says:

Am I the only one looking forward to Lourde’s inevitable “tell-all”? Here’s hoping I live long enough to read it.

  18. Judy says:

Why shouyldnt she be “allowed” to adopt another child, show me when and where she has ever mistreated her children? Just bcaue she fired a nanny? SHe may have another one starting and why pay for 2 nannies?
Madonna has never been seen mistreating her children period.

  19. j. ferber says:

How can anyone know what Madonna’s true relationship with her children is? People are complicated. So she’s not a self-abnegating mother. There are many styles of mothering. So she has a 22 year old boyfriend. If he were 32 or 42, would that make her a better mother or at least a less egregious one? People are very judgmental about women in this area. When was the last time you heard of anyone wringing their hands over whether some male celebrity was truly a good father to his children?

  20. j. ferber says:

Tony, I sometimes carry my four year old daughter on my hip and, believe me, it’s not for the cameras. Sometimes she’s tired or needs a little cuddling. I personally find it annoying when people put age limits on carrying a small child. Maybe David is tired or needs a cuddle. Maybe she doesn’t want him stepped on by the photographers. If we’re going to impute motives to her actions, why not some of the higher-minded ones?

  21. dovesgate says:

I’ve never worked out a full notice at a company. The boss’ would have me stay until the end of the pay period and then out the door I went. It isnt that big of a deal. The nanny was already leaving on a months’ vacation. What is Madonna supposed to do? Just because she has more money than God doesnt mean she should keep people employed who no longer want to work for her.

I don’t know that I believe she hands her children off to nannies 24/7. If she is even half as controlling as people here like to say she is, surely she is hands on enough to know her instructions are being carried out. Likewise, she wouldn’t be sending an assistant to pick out her new child. She would go herself.

  22. sissoucat says:

Anyway, David has just lost another person very dear to him, at a moment’s notice. Poor kid.

My boys (they didn’t get a place in kindergarden, so they went to nannies during work hours) sometimes ask to visit their nannies, and I oblige ; both nannies are happy to meet again a child they have cared for as a baby. And my children see that they were well cared for as babies, even if they don’t remember the person they remember some toys.

Guess poor David will grow up to be of the clingy type.

  23. the original kate says:

let’s at least hope that is she does adopt again she adopts an actual orphan this time. probably her assistant will take photos of the babies and edina – ooops!i mean madge- can hold them up next to her kids and see which one looks best.

  24. jay says:

mommy dearest reloaded,,I donth think a person that haves an agitated agenda like her haves time for their children,,me as a nanny raised child was always feeling lonely because mom and dad was not there for me,,material things don´cover and supply spiritual, moral or educational needs,,so bad she get the adoption of her fourth child ,,a total shame¡¡,,I just think her kids are just an accesory to gain more credibility in her material world ,,shame on you madonna¡¡¡¡

  25. Avery says:

Well I don’t personally have any knowledge on child care, but I can see your point. Raising kids can be difficult and frustrating if not properly done
