Queen Camilla was practically glowing as she went solo to the Maundy service

My mother was a huge fan of Princess Diana, and she still loathes every single thing about Queen Camilla. Mom recently asked me how Camilla was coping with Charles and Kate’s health issues and I answered her honestly: Camilla has never looked happier, she’s practically glowing, she looks a decade younger. All of which is true! Never more true than today, where Camilla went solo to Worcester for the Easter Maundy service. She is now the first queen consort to pass out the “Royal Maundy money” on behalf of the monarch. While QEII skipped a couple of Maundy services during her reign, her heir always stepped in for her, nor her spouse. But it’s a brave new royal world.

Anyway, yeah, Camilla honestly looks great. If you told me she got some Easter Botox and fillers, I would believe you. She looks less jowly and more apple-cheeked than she has in decades. My one complaint is her recycled hat – she wears that stupid hat constantly and it gives me Jamiroquai vibes. But the Fiona Clare coat is great, the boots are great and I like her brooches too. The brooches are pieces from QEII’s collection. Interestingly enough, the Worcester News published photos of Camilla’s royal helicopter arriving in town. Usually, the British media avoids mentioning or publishing photos of the Windsors’ helicopter usage.

Oh, and Camilla did get protested at the Maundy service. As promised, Republic staged a decent-sized demonstration outside the cathedral.

I’m so sad to say that I like her boots

  2. Becks1 says:

Not the biggest fan of the hat, but overall she does look good here. I do think she got a little touched up at some point.

    Love the protestors!

    • Digital Unicorn says:

She looks a bit thinner in the face to me but yeah she’s usually well turned out for public events.

She actually seems to enjoy being out and about meeting people. You can’t fake it, even thou a certain couple try hard to.

    • Maeve says:

She’s had the hat for donkeys years so it must be a favourite. I wonder if she originally had a fancier one but decided the weather was a bit dubious and had old trusty in the car for emergencies.
It does have an all purpose dog walking/racecourse attending/cold cathedral going energy – just plonk it on and go, and you don’t have to worry about it blowing away.

  3. s808 says:

She’ll never be That Girl but this is a nice look. She looks downright giddy.

    • Tessa says:

      I always found that f u r hat ugly

      • Renae says:

I look at the hat as a kind of *signature* for her. Great? Nah. But its far better than some of the head-toppers I’ve seen those folks wearing.
Fascinators? I’m fascinated by how they can keep them on their heads!
Oh well. Just call me fashion UNconscious.

      • Lincegracie says:

The way I laughed at the Jamiriquoi comment (spelling error I’m sure)
        I am dead. Too funny.

  4. I’m sorry but her face looks like one of those shrunken apple dolls.

    • Emme says:

      Still old leather-face to me….

      • JustBitchy says:

Just went through a wonderful rabbit home about Alice Keppel. I had not known that much. Her husband was OK with her extra curricular activities- money was important to them. Also she died of cirrorssis of the liver Watch those day time cocktails Cam. Both are true courtesans-like a favorite of mine Pamela Harriman (+3 other surnames)!

  5. Missjo says:

If it wasn’t for the fact that her Great Grandmother Alice Keppel, longtime mistress of King Edward VIl, passed away not long after she was born, l’d say Camilla was her reincarnated, and having revenge for George V and Mary of Teck having her shunned out of Royal circles after Edward Vll death by plotting her way into basically taking over as head of the current Royal family.

  6. EasternViolet says:

I think BP is very much sending William a message that he ain’t ready. Charles stepped in almost effortlessly when the Queen needed him to.

  7. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

I wonder how much longer before the British public sees that the heir can’t be relied upon to fill in for the monarch, at any occasion, as he should. I don’t recall Phillip standing in for the late queen, it was her heir, Charles, who was called upon. I foresee WandK using her health as an excuse to avoid royal “work” for years and years to come, it will be an excuse that few will push back against until they use it one too many times. I wonder how long that will take?

    • MaryContrary says:

It will be a while. They are riding a massive wave of sympathy right now . . .

  8. Amy Bee says:

Camilla looks so thrilled to be there.

  9. SunnyDays says:

Queen Elizabeth II took this event so seriously, that’s the impression I somehow got, at least. It’s definitely a choice to have the Consort step in and not the heir…not that Wills would be interested in working.

She is definitely looking “refreshed”. The Jamiroquai hat comment has me 🤣🤣…I need to stream some of his music now. “Virtual Insanity” seems like a fitting song for this lot.

  10. MaryContrary says:

As we saw from Charles throwing the pens, he’s not the easiest person to deal with if he’s in a snit. The reporting is always “Oh Camilla jollies him out of his bad moods.” But even if she’s good at it, that still takes a toll. My guess is that it’s way LESS stressful for her to do these outings alone.

  11. ML says:

Camzilla: I see the happiness, but I can’t tell if she’s had any work done. It’s too subtle for me.

I love that “I care do you?” jacket, which is an anti ode to Melania.

  12. Lau says:

Well somebody is having the time of their life ! She’ll probably take a week long vacation abroad from tomorrow though.

  13. Cessily says:

So the monarchy is truly run by the Mistress.. I hope the misery she left in her wake was worth it to her.

  14. Cassie says:

Nah, she is still awful .

  15. sparrow says:

I love this service and I think she looks great. Funny old thing, she is. If only one could forget what she’s done…

  16. Seraphina says:

The cat that ate the cream, what’s up with the black gloves??? It throws off the color palette (which I love – I too am sad to admit).

    • Becks1 says:

      I think they’re a dark brown?

      • Seraphina says:

Certain pics due bring a darker brown to light, but surely the Queen Consort to the King of England had a pair of gloves that better matched this color palette in her closet.

    • Pomski says:

Minus the gloves, this is the best outfit I’ve seen her in, possibly ever. And yes, she is eating the spotlight. Well played, Queen Consort.

    • QuiteContrary says:

The dark gloves bother me, too.

      Actually, Camilla herself bothers me.

  17. Murphy says:

She does look really good, for her. She’s loving this.

Filler, sure. But what is the point of today’s 70 year olds getting Botox? What can it do for them at this point? Maybe in 20 years when women who have already been getting Botox for 30 years and thus they don’t have the creases it will make sense but what’s the point on just now starting it and relaxing your wrinkle muscles if they’ve already been creasing for 50 years?

  18. Flower says:

Camilla really won in the end LMAO.

I will actually cackle if this woman eventually topples the institution – it’s what they deserve.

  19. Tessa says:

Camilla should lose that hat. It is dreadful. And cut back on the lipstick
So smug. William the lazy one should have attended.

  20. BlueNailsBetty says:

King Camilla looks so satisfied. I bet even she can’t believe how well her plan for domination worked.

  21. Tessa says:

Is William even near Kate. I wonder where he is after skipping out of the service

  22. Lexistential says:

Has she had a bit of work done? She looks freshened up- and damn, she has the glow of being the last survivor standing, and she looks as beautiful as she’s gonna get. I hate to admit it, especially since her joy stems from everyone else’s alienation and misfortune, but she looks good.

  23. NikkiK says:

She looks good. And even with the affair and mistreatment of Diana; she’s still the only working Royal who seems like they’d be fun to hang out with and who one could actually have a decent and interesting conversation with (Charles as well for the latter). Let the whiskey flow!

KP and William continue to drop the ball. There’s no way the monarchy survives him. He’ll be the last King. He’s worthless and so is the woman he married.

    • Tessa says:

I am for the demonstrators. I don’t like how Camilla mocked Meghan holding her stomach. I don’t think the sussexes fond her fun. Maybe Charles will be the last monarch the way William carries on

    • QuiteContrary says:

Camilla fun to hang with? I couldn’t do it.

She undoubtedly reeks of entitlement, horses and gin.

  24. Rnot says:

She’s seemed positively gleeful during the whole first quarter of 2024. But WHY is she so happy? Is it just that she’s getting all the attention? Does she actively dislike Charles? What’s her objective?

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Rnot, IF KFC is much more ill then people have said then she is probably very happy because it won’t be much longer and she will be able to retire to Ray Mill with loads of cash. I don’t think she’s spending a lot of time with KFC at this point–she doesn’t seem the type to take care of him when he has loads of people to do so.

She accomplished what she sat out to do and the curtain is coming down. She can retire and do what she wants.

  25. Joy says:

I’m w/ your mom, Kaiser, I loathe Camilla. And I hate to agree that she does look good in these photos. Or better I should say. I do love the fact that she is bringing out so many of ER2’s brooches and some of the more RF obscure jewelry. There’s royal family jewels account on insta I follow and they highlight all the details about the pieces. It’s the only interesting thing about her.

    • Silver Birch says:

Agreed. I can’t stand her, but she does look good here – for her. But why can’t somebody get this awful woman a decent bra?

  26. kelleybelle says:

This abomination is capable of glowing? Do corpses do that? Heinous woman. Meghan’s a disgrace but a homewrecking, lazy boozer gets to be called queen. Revolting.

  27. Mrs. Smith says:

It’s so shrewd of Cams to bump up her glam with a rosy, healthy glow for her solo outing today. Compared to the deathly pallor of Charles’ Easter photos, she looks positively radiant. I dislike her, but dammit I have to hate-respect her game.

  28. Brianna says:

No one finds it suspicious that everyone around her is getting cancer and her smile gets bigger and bigger.

  29. L4Frimaire says:

She definitely looks more pulled together, even with that massive raver hat. The black gloves should go but overall this is one of her better looks. She’s definitely smiling and no one can tell her anything.

  30. truthsyrup says:

Her teeth do look whitened. I agree she looks good, and the confidence and not caring what people think also shines through. I wonder if Charles is starting to see her hidden agendas now, when it’s too late
