Simone Biles wore a Harbison minidress for the Met Gala: super-cute?

This year’s Met Gala ended up being a big night for Harbison, an LA-based studio with “demi-couture” designed by Charles Harbison. Harbison dressed several major celebrities for the Met Gala and they all looked amazing and on-theme. Simone Biles wore a completely customized look from Harbison, which was spectacular. She coordinated with her husband (whose suit was not designed by Harbison), who wore a gorgeous white suit and a Margot McKinney Atlantic aquamarine brooch. As much as everyone loves Simone and loves her gala look, they had to give respect to Jonathan, who really brought it with the dandy theme.

Mindy Kaling also wore Harbison – I love this?? Mindy always has fun with the themes, and I love that she knew enough to go with an interpretation of a snazzy “suit.”

Audra McDonald was another star in Harbison – I think this would have worked a lot better in a different color. This muted putty shade does nothing for Audra and it just looks like she’s wearing a boring gown.

A fail on the hem of Simone’s dress. Not the length but the execution. It’s nitpicky but a big part of the theme was tailoring excellence. That hem ain’t it.

    Otherwise, chic and memorable.

    • Drea says:

I see what you’re saying. I wonder if this is a mess up on the tailor, who when they did the fitting realized just how short Simone is, and quickly hemmed it. It’s the only story I can make up.

  2. Sun says:

Is this the best Mindy red carpet look ever??

Simone and her husband look beyond gorgeous. Absolutely love his coordinating aquamarine brooch!

  3. Sassy says:

I’m a simone biles stan, so I’ll just hush.

I’ll speak for you — she is adorable, this dress is vomitous. It looks like something a kid would “sew” for their Barbie. Every single aspect of this dress — the neckline, the hem, the bulbous train, the colour, the pattern, the shoes, the bag. It is all barf.

    • It Really Is You, Not Me says:

I like the color and the train and I’ll leave it there because I also love Simone.

Her husband’s white suit with the fringed hem and accessories are fire 🔥.

It’s great to see her taking her place with celebrities. It’s a little unusual for sports figures to be featured in the Met Gala, at least as far as I recall so this makes me muy happy.

Thank yall for speaking for me cause baby….

It’s not Simone’s first Gala. Once she wore something that weighed about 60 pounds & wasn’t attractive anyway.

The train on the mini-dress is disproportionately long. Not her best look. Owen looked good but never smiled.

  4. Sam says:

Simone’s dress here is very similar to the dress she wore to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. The color is obviously different and slightly different silhouettes but the vibe is the same somehow.
