Prince William isn’t saying much about the increase in homelessness in the UK

Prince William rarely works on Mondays. He prefers the three-day weekend system, which is really a four-day weekend since he really doesn’t like to work on Fridays either. But this week, William has been out on consecutive days at the start of the week. On Monday, he visited with the Lionesses – England’s national women’s soccer team – ahead of the Euros. He’s now patron of the Football Association, a downgrade from his years-long position as FA president. The Euros begin tomorrow in Switzerland, and there are rumors that William plans to fly out to support the women’s team… because he loves flying to other countries to watch football. He told the Lionesses: “The men’s team could definitely learn off your camaraderie and your team environment. You’re brilliant together, you create a very unique unit that is rare in lots of other sports. So hold onto that, treasure that, build on it, because it’s one of your greatest assets.” LOL, William was really like “wow, the men are such scrubs.”

Today, William went to Sheffield to mark the two-year anniversary of Homewards, his “pilot program” to fund various homelessness initiatives. After two years, you would think that the pilot program would have run its course and the time had come to implement the work more broadly. But of course that’s not happening. William did a Q&A session with advocate Steven Bartlett and former prime minister Gordon Brown. Even some royal reporters were throwing shade at William for his come-and-go homeless crusade, pointing out that since William founded this pilot program, homelessness has increased in the UK.

Meanwhile, along with Buckingham Palace’s Sovereign Grant disclosures, Kensington Palace did some limited disclosures about their finances. William still refuses to disclose how much he pays in taxes (for the Duchy of Cornwall). KP also said that they’ve increased their staff from 66 to 68. That many staffers??? Why does everything feel so half-assed from Will and Kate then??

Why the increase in Duchy staff? In economic terms, you consolidate (merge) teams when you want to make efficiencies and you let people go. When you separate a company (read: William and Kate now are rumored to have separate KP staff), you have to increase staff. Seems pretty straightforward, unless they needed another valet for William that will actually do his job…

“Delivering change together” sounds very political, William is supposed to keep his nose out of politics. How many people has he got off the streets since this ‘campaign’ started?

What an absolute tosser and patronising git given he couldn’t even be bothered leaving early from one of his many taxpayer funded holidays to attend the World Cup Final.

Now, what’s going on with Dick Palmer? Since he lost his rat job, he’s freely criticising the future king as being tone-deaf and oblivious to statistics???

That’s a lot of homeless people. The most recent number I saw for the US is 771,000, which is also a big increase from the year before – but still, the US is 6 times larger than England.

  5. He is all talk and no action. He said he was going to end homelessness. He said he would bring peace to the Middle East. Promises promises nothing more.

I hate to be a bore but anybody know if THAT fridge was delivered to Estonia or maybe the plum jam recipe was at least shared? Any tangible ” impacts” to report?

      @Susan Collins
He doesn’t give a damn about homelessness, just like he doesn’t give a damn about anything else. It’s all smoke and mirrors. His chaotic outbursts of apparent activity are just an attempt at a one-sided rivalry with Harry. Harry is an international figure at the moment and doesn’t have to invite himself to parties. It’s the biggest organizations that are trying to get him to participate and they’re paying him for it. Poor Willi would like that too, but not only is he pathologically lazy, he’s also as stupid as a brick. He quickly did a photoshoot similar to Harry’s from NY, and since the content and rank aren’t what they were, you can’t see it in the pictures, and they’re good at propaganda.

Perhaps Peg can give another patronizing speech to the homeless folks. He would probably tell them to “just get a job.”

  7. Aimee says:

Call me when you’ve actually accomplished something.

After Harry’s performance in New York and many photos with important people on stage in front of the event logo wall, what does William do? He attends an event with important people in front of the event logo wall and publishes photos in the media. 🤣 Oh, and they wrote that he gave a speech:))) God, what an idiot he is, and they have problems in England, they work, organize meetings and never know if some member of the royal family (Kate or William) will suddenly come and take the cream.

  9. Beverley says:

Wait, what? I thought Pegs solved homelessness a couple years ago.
Just like he eradicated racism in football forums.

  10. Tessa says:

SO he did not take his daughter Charlotte to see the Lionesses team. It was his chance to take her somewhere solo and he messed up. I guess he only takes George places. William is all talk about the homeless.

He holds his hands out and looks like he’s yelling in one of the pictures.
