It’s been years and years since Jennifer Aniston and her team really “launched” a boyfriend. Justin Theroux was the last time before now – I still remember how Aniston’s team worked overtime to convince everyone that Justin was the biggest edgelord (complimentary) and a real artiste. When Justin and Jen split, suddenly his edgelord status was a bad thing! Anyway, Justin has moved on and he’s now married to The Gilded Age’s Maud Beaton (aka Nicole Brydon Bloom). So Jennifer is doing a boyfriend-launch for her new man, Jim Curtis. Curtis is a hypnotherapist and some kind of mental coach, and they’ve been dating for months. We first learned about him when he joined Aniston on vacation in Mallorca. That vacation was a “double date” with Jen’s bestie, Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka. Well, the two couples went another double-date this week in NYC.
Jennifer Aniston is bringing her new relationship stateside.The actress was spotted out in New York City on Monday, Aug. 4, with her boyfriend, hypnotherapist Jim Curtis, as she stepped out for dinner with her close friend Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka.
She was dressed casually in a long white sundress, while Curtis wore white jeans and a blue button-down shirt open, and walked with a cane.
Bateman was similarly casual for the double date, dressed in black pants, a button-down shirt and boots. The couples enjoyed a three-hour dinner together in the West Village.
Aniston, 56, and Curtis were also photographed as they returned to their hotel together, and Bateman was photographed exiting a car with Aniston.
A three-hour dinner?? Was it an all-you-can-eat buffet or something?? LMAO. Curtis was apparently walking with a cane because he has longtime spinal issues. I’m sure Aniston relates to that – she’s had some issues with her body in recent years, including a back problem which altered her workouts for months in 2021. I find it interesting that they were in New York, which is where Curtis lives. I guess someone had business there and the double-date was organized around that? Because Aniston and Bateman are both LA-based. In fact, Aniston’s unwillingness to move to New York (or regularly visit NY) was one of the big reasons why her “marriage” to Justin fell apart. So… I hope Jim is prepared to move to LA (or visit frequently) for this relationship to really take off.
Meanwhile, this date night is getting more attention than some bad/weird news for Aniston’s career. Aniston is attached to Apple’s adaptation of Jeanette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died, and Jason Reitman was supposed to direct. Reitman pulled out and Apple has given the series a short window to replace him or else they’re putting the series on hold.

It was probably one of those taster menus when you have 7+ courses, brought out separately and being a size of a morsel.
That’s what I was thinking, although in my twenties I could easily kill 3 hours at a diner chatting with friends and getting buzzed off bottomless cheap coffee. (We always tipped well.)
This sounds like a bit of a US vs Europe difference of expectations. I love long meals as you sit and chat and don’t rush (at family christmases in France we sit down at about 2pm after a couple of hours of aperitif and you’re there until the evening and even regular family lunches at the weekend run until late afternoon). Plus it gives you plenty of time to savour the food and digest. A lot of places here in the UK now have a two-hour time slot for the table you book and while I get it from a planning perspective it does mean you can’t stay and relax with your drinks once the meal is done.

Let’s face it. Jen would rather hang out with friends than date. She took Jason and seven other people on her honeymoon with Justin! If this works out, I’m happy for her.
Leave her be and that’s that. I’ve always admired her stance on who she is – especially about not needing validation by being (or expected to be) in relationships.
