Julia Roberts wore Atelier Versace to the Venice ‘After the Hunt’ premiere

People were mad when I said I thought Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt looks good? I still stand by that opinion, which I formed soon after I saw the trailer. Unfortunately, the critics who saw ATH in Venice do not agree. While critics think Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield and Julia Roberts are giving fine-to-good performances, apparently the film has major script issues. Oh well. I’ll see it just for Ayo, honestly. And I’ll also see it because this is the first time Julia and Chloe Sevigny worked together!! I would give a lot of money to hear Chloe’s unfiltered opinions about working with Julia.

I’m including photos from the Venice Film Festival premiere and photocall. General thoughts? Andrew Garfield went to Turkey for a hair transplant and it might have ruined him. His new hair makes him look younger, for sure, but the hair might have taken away his natural rizz? Ayo wore Chanel for her first-ever Venice premiere. I feel like she decided to go very traditional, a well-cut and somewhat conservative red gown for her first big film festival. She probably didn’t want to “get it wrong,” and it’s always better to err on the side of caution, even if she probably learned a lesson about wearing wrinkle-prone taffeta. Someone who threw caution to the wind? Chloe Sevigny, who wore a custom Saint Laurent, with built-in lace bicycle shorts. She paired the look with diamonds from Tiffany & Co.

As for Julia Roberts… well, she made fashion news too. She wore Atelier Versace, a gown designed by Versace’s new creative director Dario Vitale. Remember, Donatella Versace basically got pushed out, and so now THIS is what Versace will look like. It’s basically an optical-illusion dress which makes her boobs look tiny and yet it also makes her look pregnant from some angles. Like… the old Versace wasn’t everyone’s flavor, but you could spot a Versace gown anywhere. Sexy, glamourous, well-draped. This just looks like sh-t being made by like ten other designers.

Julia really has a wig and a half. It’s insane and slightly creepy! 🤣

Garfield looks like he’s trying to morph himself into Ben Whishaw..

  3. Jegede says:

Actually, Julia is a cast member singled out for giving an unimpeachable performance.😉

    Followed by Michael Stuhlbarg.

While, Ayo & Andrew have got poor notices, and pretty much been taken off EVERY predictors list.

The movie was panned and even though it’s very early, I don’t think that anyone will touch Jessie Buckley this award season.

    Strangely charisma-free red carpet.

In the group pic it looks like they are trying very hard not to touch each other. The film just looked awful to me, in part because Julia Roberts cannot act, and in part because it was soooo divorced from reality. I wonder if there was some dissent on the set because no one looks happy.

Ayo is such a beauty on top of being brilliant and talented. Did Julia finally get her droopy nose lifted? Or gained a few needed pounds? Not sure but she looks really great in the suit pic (and I really don’t like her so that’s saying something!).
