Last week, Halle Berry announced via Instagram that her family had adopted a new kitten. She posted pictures of a three-week-old, black and white kitten that “showed up” in her yard. After considering name suggestions from the comments, Halle and her kids decided to name him Bandit. Bandit joins the family’s two other cats, Boots and Coco, and her two Labradoodles. Halle adopted Boots and Coco after she found them in her yard last year.
It must be the word meow on the street that Halle’s yard is the place to be because on Sunday, she posted about two more kittens that had shown up outside of her house. She’s paying their vet bills and fostering them as she tries to find them new homes. Well, Halle knows just who’s to blame for her new house guests. There’s a male cat that is “laying pipe” in her neighborhood, and she is determined to “catch that boy” so she can get him fixed.
Those kittens are so adorable! I love that Halle is taking the time to rescue and foster them herself. That’s really awesome. I’m sure she’ll have no trouble finding them homes. It’s also great that she’s trying to stop what she calls her neighborhood’s “cat distribution problem” at the source by trying to catch the parents. I would love to see video footage of Halle and her neighbor discussing how they’re going to trap the tomcat. Hopefully she will post his picture, along with a detailed story about how they got him. (She was able to capture these kittens’ mother to have her spayed.)
This same thing happened to my in-laws. Many years ago, a cat kept having kittens underneath their deck and they would bring them inside to take care of and find families for. It took over a year for them to successfully capture the mother, but several litters later, my FIL was able to finally catch her and take her to be spayed. (Mr. Rosie and I moved in together while this saga was on-going and one of those kittens ended up being my very first cat. She was the *best.*) Anyway, I hope Halle’s quest to find the father is successful. It’s definitely time to get that scoundrel neutered.

What a nice story to read first thing – well done, Halle!
I’m so jealous of people this happens to, but at the same time, I don’t really want it to happen. Like, I love kittens!!! OMG!! And so that would be great to find some, but wow, such a responsibility to find nice places for them to go.
Her line about laying pipe is so freaking funny! I wonder if she’ll assist in TNR efforts?
According to the post, she’s trying to TNR. Which is the right thing to do.
Want a cat? Cats are free! Just visit a shelter or rescue. (Vet care is not free however, ha.)
Seriously, there are SO MANY cats who need homes. Does your home need a cat? If so, please visit a shelter or rescue and find your new BFF!
My current cat is an off the street rescue who some jerk abandoned. Before that I had cats who my friend fostered. Getting a cat is not difficult and I encourage you to adopt!
I will say that, while kittens are adorable, they are also little whirlwinds of energy and destruction. They need to be socialized. If you’ve never had a cat before, starting with an adult cat is SO much easier. I recommend one who is at least 2 or 3.
All cats are pawsome cats. 🐾
we have one, my husband found her
This is so adorable! Such a nice relief from all the other news in the world. I take back all the snark I may ever have directed at Halle in the past!
Halle transitioned into the whole damn internet’s cool auntie so smoothly. It shows it wasn’t just the looks that made her a star. She just IS one.
I already loved Halle Berry but this just makes me love her more! I love kitties so much. Look at those precious lil floofs!
