If Bad Bunny ends up being a more controversial Super Bowl Halftime choice than Kendrick Lamar, I will laugh my ass off. I honestly never believed that Roc Nation and the NFL could top Kendrick for “controversy-bait,” but here we are. What’s wild about all of the rage/racism/ignorance about Bad Bunny is that many of his songs are about what all pop songs are about: love, sex, partying, being cool, having fun. Yes, he has political music and music about cultural issues too, but MAGA can’t even understand those songs because they don’t speak Spanish. Anyway, all of the “conservative commentators” are having racist meltdowns, including Megyn Kelly, who was FUMING. She said that choosing Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl is “a middle finger to MAGA and conservatives.” Yes, that’s the point.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem – who oversees ICE and is largely responsible for turning ICE into the American Gestapo – also claimed that ICE will be “all over that place” at the Super Bowl because of Bad Bunny’s Halftime performance. She was asked if she had a message for the NFL, given Bad Bunny’s Halftime headliner gig, and she said: “They suck and we’ll win and God will bless us. We’ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day, and they won’t be able to sleep at night because they don’t know what they believe and they’re so weak. We’ll fix it.” These people are frightening, delusional, paranoid and afraid of their own shadow. Nothing says “we’re big strong tough guys” like throwing a childish, week-long howling tantrum over a Puerto Rican artist being selected to sing at the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny was this weekend’s Saturday Night Light host. He addressed the Super Bowl situation in his opening monologue, where he joked that Fox News was pleased about his gig, and then showed a spliced-together video of the Fox News hosts saying “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.” Benito also addressed the audience in Spanish, saying: “I’m really excited to be doing the Super Bowl, I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy, especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it. If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
