Did y’all realize that Glenn Close is 78 years old? She’s still working constantly, often filming back-to-back on all of her television and film jobs. While she’s rarely cast as the lead, she enjoys the supporting roles and fun character work. I suspect that she loves being surrounded by young actors. Glenn recently chatted with Variety – she Zoomed in from Germany, where she was working on The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Some highlights:
She loved working on “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” in London: “There’d be a table of tea, coffee and some weird English candy/ Jeremy Renner had a special chair because he was recovering from his [snowplow] accident. Andrew Scott, who was doing another movie at the time and was tired, would nap. And I would play backgammon with Mila Kunis or Josh O’Connor. There was lots of laughing.”
Working on the Ryan Murphy drama “All’s Fair.” “I was intimidated. I’d never been in a Ryan movie or show. … I didn’t understand the tone for a while. I found it hard.”
She was impressed by Kim Kardashian. They hung out during filming, with Kris Jenner organizing a boozy viewing party for the cast so Kardashian could finally see Close boil that bunny in “Fatal Attraction.” “What surprised me was Kim’s seriousness of intent,” Close says. “She always knew her lines. She never was late. She always was prepared. She had no pretensions that she was a great actress, but she was smart enough to have people around her who she could learn from. If she was a big ego or what I call a ‘life-is-too-short person,’ I would have been unhappy, but she’s not.”
On the terrible reviews for All’s Fair: Close believes reviewers failed to assess the series in its entirety. “I personally think that the first three episodes were the weakest. That was a tough way to start. I’ve seen all nine episodes, and I think it actually adds up to something.”
Her overall view of the Kardashians: “The Kardashians would say this themselves, but not everybody likes them. They have an image.”
Glenn is being slightly shady here, but I honestly don’t believe that she has any beef with Kim or her family. “She had no pretensions that she was a great actress” – Glenn liked that Kim was honest with herself and others, and that Kim at least kept everything professional and worked hard. Plus, I think Glenn is probably at that IDGAF age where it’s like “who gives a g–k if I’m working with a Kardashian, it’s a job and I’m having fun.”

Great nothing. She shouldn’t have any pretensions that she is an actress at all.
Some friends and I had a wine party to watch all’s fair. It was too terrible to even hate watch. How did these big name actors sign up for this?? And a ton more had cameos. It’s not that it is just bad but it is really crass and not funny. There was a whole episode/trial about sex toys???!
The only interesting thing to me was this is the first time I have seen Naomi Watts on screen using her actual Australian accent. I definitely haven’t seen all her work but I haven’t seen her use her actual voice/accent before and it was honestly mesmerizing. They must have paid her, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, etc huge bucks to do this thing.
Letting Kim into the cast at all makes me suspect that Kardtrashian money bought her way into the production.
She’s a producer
Yeah, this is shade.
Glenn Close looks embarrassed in those group photos. Does she really need the money to do crap like this?
I think Kim sounds really professional? Good for her.
The boozy movie night was on an episode of KUWTK. Glenn was really nice and friendly at the (I think Kris’s?) house. Honestly kindof extra shady to see her talk like this when she was so friendly to their faces.
Yeah this was just a paycheck. But at least they made her look really really good. She looked way better than Judith Light. (hurts me to say that though bc I love her too)
