Donald Trump referred to Greenland as ‘Iceland’ several times in his Davos speech

I only listened to a couple of minutes of Donald Trump’s slurred, demented, lispy speech at Davos before I felt like I was going to vomit. Trump argued that he needs Greenland because America is the only one who can defend it. Before Trump’s fixation on Greenland, Greenland wasn’t being threatened! It’s basically: “I’m the only one who can protect Greenland, because I’m the only one threatening Greenland and Denmark’s sovereignty!” But obviously, it was a million times worse than that, as this senile f–kwad repeatedly confused Greenland with Iceland. From the Times of London:

President Trump’s highly anticipated address at Davos went on for more than an hour and covered a range of issues, from his desire for the US to take ownership of Greenland, or was it Iceland, to Britain’s mistaken North Sea energy policy. Here are some of the eyebrow raising claims and statements:

Trump repeatedly called Greenland ‘Iceland’ by mistake
Describing the semi-autonomous Danish territory as a “piece of ice, cold and poorly located”, Trump criticised Nato countries for not supporting his claim to Greenland. “They’re not there for us on Iceland. That I can tell you. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money.”

Greenland is “actually part of North America”
“This enormous unsecured island is actually part of North America,” Trump said. “That’s our territory.”

He appeared to be confused by the name of Azerbaijan, calling the Caucasian country ‘Abba-baijan’
Describing his efforts to resolve conflicts around the world, he said President Putin praised him for ending the war between Armenia and “Abba-baijan”.

Mark Rutte was ‘very smart’ for calling Trump ‘Daddy’
Trump referred to previous comments made by Mark Rutte in which the secretary-general of Nato nicknamed the US president “daddy”. “Until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland [sic], they loved me. They called me daddy, right? Very smart man said, ‘He’s our daddy.’ I was, like, running it. I went from running it to being a terrible human being.”

Trump said Europe is ‘not recognisable’ anymore
The president criticised levels of immigration on the continent and talked about his own family history, saying he was “derived from Europe — Scotland and Germany”. “We believe deeply in the bonds we share with Europe,” he said. “I love Europe and I want to see Europe go good, but it’s not heading in the right direction,” he said.

[From The Times]

What’s even more pathetic is that he was actually using a teleprompter. Like, someone wrote a speech and fed that speech into the prompter, and Trump tried to read it, went off script, threatened to invade Iceland, bragged about being called daddy and claimed to have ended a war in Abbabaijan, a country which does not exist.

Easily the least embarrassing thing he’s done in recent memory.

I hope that soon someone will put those of us who voted, but not for this, out of our misery. For the first year it was painful. Now it is simply unendurable.

I believe it is a good practice to know the name of the country you are supposedly entitled to. This man is mentally unfit. Worse than Reagan was at the end. I’m watching MAGA following him off the cliff, and not even seeing the fall that’s coming. Europe is completely capable of handling itself. Time to start focusing on the mess he is making of the USA. Time to start going forward to a country that supports diversity, inclusion and empathy. Time to realize that the gap in this country is HUGELY economic and that billionaires need to lose their get out of jail free
    cards. Just my 2 cents.

I’m 63 and have had presidents I didn’t care for and/or had no respect for, but the loathing I hav for this fat, diseased, maniacal blowhard is difficult to stomach. He’s destroying the US and is making us a laughing stock to our former allies.
We’re supposed to go to our AFS kid’s wedding in Norway this summer, and I’m concerned about the traveling. That’s on this Toddler and his Nazi administration.

Spineless Congress needs to get in gear and either impeach or engage the 25th amendment soon.

For that, they would have crucified Biden.
