Snow White and War of the Worlds lead the 2026 Razzie nominations

Sometimes things turn out badly due to a lack of effort; other times, work is done so poorly it actually feels like an impressive achievement. The Golden Raspberry Awards honor each (and any!) kind of cinematic crash out, but I personally think they excel at highlighting the latter — the class of films that year that truly reached new heights in lows. Why bring this up on Academy Award Nominations Thursday? Because where there are Oscars, Razzies are lurking not far behind. Well, technically they’re not behind but ahead, since the Razzies always announce their nominations and winners the day before their highbrow counterpart awards. A lingering yin to the Oscars’ yang. Anyway, without further ado, I present the nominations for the 46th annual Razzie Awards:

The Golden Raspberry Awards has announced the nominations for its 46th edition, with the live-action “Snow White” and Ice Cube’s “War of the Worlds” in the lead with six nods apiece.

Alongside “Snow White” and “War of the Worlds,” the parody award show — whose members recognize what they consider the worst films each year — nominated “The Electric State,” “Hurry Up Tomorrow” and “Star Trek: Section 31” for worst picture.

In the acting categories, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is nominated for worst actor for his performance as a fictionalized version of himself in “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which received five Razzie nominations in total. The singer-songwriter will compete against Dave Bautista (“In the Lost Lands”), Ice Cube (“War of the Worlds”), Scott Eastwood (“Alarum”) and Jared Leto (“Tron: Ares”) for the (dis)honor.

Meanwhile, the worst actress nominees include Ariana DeBose (“Love Hurts”), Milla Jovovich (“In the Lost Lands”), Natalie Portman (“Fountain of Youth”), Rebel Wilson (“Bride Hard”) and Michelle Yeoh (“Star Trek: Section 31”).

Another notable category is worst screen combo, with nominees including the seven dwarfs from the live-action “Snow White”; James Corden and Rihanna in 2025’s “Smurfs”; Ice Cube and his Zoom camera in “War of the Worlds”; Robert DeNiro as Frank and Vito in “The Alto Nights”; and The Weeknd and “his colossal ego” in “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”

The winners of the 46th annual Razzies will be unveiled on March 14.

Congratulations to everyone singled out for their staggering work in 2025! Last year it was pretty obvious that Madame Web and Megalopolis would sweep the categories, but this year the races feel like anyone’s game. That always makes it so much more exciting for us to follow! I’m not surprised that Snow White and War of the Worlds topped the lists. Snow White’s greatest deficit was that the source material was Snow White. And all who dared to watch War of the Worlds: Zoom Edition, were pretty shook by how stilted and awful it was. So well earned to both films!

While I haven’t seen The Weeknd in Hurry Up Tomorrow (because life is short and I will never get that time back), I’m still gonna boldly say that Abel should win Worst Actor. To deliver a bad performance is one thing, but to do so when playing “a fictionalized version of himself”??? THAT takes talent. Think about it: he was unconvincing as himself! That is some straight up Charlie Kaufman existential mindf–kery going on right there! So that’s my big vote/prediction. It’s yours to lose, Weeknd. Should you prove victorious on March 14, accept it with the grace and humor of Halle Berry, and not the salty soreness of Francis Ford Coppola. Awards season is so much fun!

Love this for Scott Eastwood 😂

  2. Lightpurple says:

Not surprised to see The Electric State here, one of the most expensive films ever made and it’s truly incomprehensible. We watched it because it’s on the Oscar shortlist for visual effects; it will be interesting to see if it gets nominated

  3. Lucy says:

I didn’t even know there was a war of the worlds released, and I read entertainment websites. Also, this has truly been the longest year

  4. Nanea says:

Halle Berry took her Razzie L like a winner, as did Sandra Bullock.

As much as I don’t like The Weeknd and his… being a creepy predator, I can’t stand Scott Eastwood and Jared Leto either.

A truly well-deserving trio to be nominated.

  5. LadyE says:

I am a huge Trekkie. Even the series that I will (grudgingly) acknowledge are not good, I’ve watched at least twice completely. I LOVE Star Trek. I turned off Section 31. Never finished it. It is SO SO bad in the worst way possible. Not so bad it’s great, just truly bad.

  6. BeanieBean says:

Aw, man, I thought ‘Snow White and the War of the Worlds’ was one movie. 🤨
