People Mag said Pink & Carey Hart separated, but Pink vehemently denied it

This has become a weird story in the past 24 hours. On Thursday, People Magazine, TMZ, Us Weekly, all of the major sites and publications, all reported that Pink and Carey Hart had separated again. Pink and Carey’s early days were a bit chaotic and they separated in 2008 after two years of marriage. They reconciled within a year, and they currently have two children, a 14-year-old and a 9-year-old. People Magazine still has the original headline about Pink and Carey’s split with the “exclusive” tag. But soon after People’s report was published, Pink got on her Instagram Stories and denied the story completely. Hm.

Pink and her husband Carey Hart have separated after 20 years of marriage, a source tells PEOPLE. A rep for Pink had no comment. A rep for Hart did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. However, Pink posted a video on the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 26, refuting the report.

“So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband,” she said in a video shared on Instagram. “I didn’t know. Thank you for letting me know. Would you also like to tell our children? My 14- and 9-year-old are also unaware.”

She continued, “Do you want to want to talk about my accomplishments or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise? So fake news, not true. I love you all.”

The “Trustfall” singer, 46, and the former pro motocross racer, 50, share two children, daughter Willow Sage, 14, and son Jameson Moon, 9. After meeting at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia, Pink (born Alecia Moore) and Hart dated on and off before he proposed in 2005; they married in Costa Rica in January 2006.

Two years later, the pair announced that they had separated for the first time. Pink and Hart stayed amicable — Hart even appeared in her music video for hit single “So What,” which was inspired by their separation — and in the spring of 2009, they revealed that they had reconciled and called off their separation.

All I know is that I wouldn’t be surprised either way. I would easily believe that they’re on the outs (and possibly have been for a few years) and I would easily believe that they’re fine and just raising their kids and enjoying a quiet era. That speaks to Pink’s celebrity brand, that people would shrug their shoulders and say “makes sense” to either situation. So, I don’t know. If Pink says it’s all BS, I’m sure she knows her marriage better than me. But it has a similar vibe to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban last year, where maybe Pink and Carey aren’t on the same page? That might explain why People still has their original headline up.

I won’t be surprised if it’s Carey’s people that briefed the magazine.

    Has he said anything yet?

Yeah, this has major “the news is correct but it wasn’t rolled out how *I* planned” vibes.

Those (and that many) publications aren’t making something up about Pink and Carey Hart in 2026. I’m guessing his side released it, she’s trying to real it back in, and she’ll put out the same info with HER spin in a few months.

  3. LadyE says:

I believe Pink just because I feel like (not like I actually know these people!) that Carey wouldn’t leak this without Pink knowing it was going to come out. Maybe because of how long they’ve been together, because they have kids, because of what seems like genuine love and friendship that transcends their relationship/marriage, I just can’t believe this would come out this way and catch Pink off guard like this. I just feel like they’d handle it in a more mutually respectful way, no matter what issues they might be having.

  4. Nicole says:

Not like I’m in Pink’s business, but I seem to recall Corey and Pink selling a whole bunch of stuff as they prepared to move from LA to *I think* Australia, but then the next thing I see is Pink and her daughter Willow (student of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts student *which is located in NYC*) performing with Hugh Jackman in NYC. I presumed that they just had multiple homes, but maybe there is a little smoke. Pink is not always honest with the public, and frankly their marriage is none of our business. But now I am curious.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a People Magazine “exclusive” that includes an outright denial from the subject of the story.

They clearly have reason to trust their sources, but I too have trouble believing Carey would be cruel enough to surprise her through the press.

Something very weird is going on here… their kids are old enough to be online, so maybe the press scooped them before they even told the kids, and this is her way of buying time.

It’s been a while and I didn’t follow it intensely at the time, but didn’t SHE propose? I thought I remembered something about her holding a sign at a race or something.

    • Angel says:

Yes she did propose and it was very public too. There was a video of her holding up a proposal sign at the end of one of his races. Weird that everyone is getting this wrong just goes to show how derivative all the media are and how little thru do their own research or even double fact check sources these days. Which to me does shed more doubt on the veracity of any of this. Goodness. I saw her in concert at a small Santa Barbara charity event at Kevin Costners ranch (Prince Harry was there too) and I have a feeling she may have a house nearby. She was so great & I hope all is well for her and her kids.

Eh, Pink’s message was not a categoric no. Usually, if the media gets it so wildly wrong or it’s coming from a single source that then becomes a wild rumor (not the case here since multiple outlets reported it as fact), celebrity publicists are usually quick to issue a very strongly worded denial. This wasn’t through Pink’s rep, it was through herself and I love her but she is not as coy as she thinks she is. It sounds like she’s playing with the truth and also notice how she centers her and the kids but not her husband. He is not included in the “We didn’t know” and that’s very telling.

It comes across as she was blindsided by the announcement or she perhaps knew it was coming out but did not agree with the timing. Anyways, I love Pink and I hope and Carey can figure things out. But they’ve had issues before and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were to divorce. Much love to the whole family.

  8. jais says:

They still have the headline up. Dang. She absolutely denied it on insta.

  9. jmbeans says:

This stinks of Carey rolling out a girlfriend in 5, 4, 3, 2…..
