I know this post will probably be the least commented-on of the day, but you know what? It was either this or a story about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wearing matching Yeezy sneakers (for real). I often give you guys the chance to see the Kardashian road less taken – and I ask you to show your support for non-Kardashian posts. Sometimes you deliver. Sometimes not. But I know deep in my heart that if I wrote about Kim and Kanye, the comments would be flowing like wine, meanwhile I have to beg you to talk about two of the most talented women in Hollywood, Meryl Streep and Viola Davis.
Meryl and Viola are friends. They worked together in Doubt, but I believe they knew each other before then. When Meryl won the Best Actress Oscar this year over Viola, there weren’t any hard feelings on either side – these two ladies have a lot of respect for each other. Meryl even donated some money to a cause close to Viola’s heart right after the Oscars. Anyway, here are the two lovely women at last night’s Crystal + Lucy Women in Film Awards. Meryl was on hand to present an “Excellence In Film” award to V. So f–king classy. Meryl and Viola are both wearing MaxMara (one of the sponsors of the event).

Jenna Dewan in MaxMara. The jumpsuit is okay, and it’s a nice color. Her face looked kind of botoxy to me.
Christina Applegate in MaxMara. I love this dress. I love it on her too.

Meryl looks wonderful. I am not sure about the fit on Viola’s dress it seems to always be an issue with her and I don’t get it. Really like Christina Applegate’s dress great color and fit on her same goes for Marcia Gay Harden.

Meryl and Viola are truly stunning. I love how they have allowed themselves to age naturally (and beautifully) and still seem to get the respect they deserve for their talent and body of work.
Viola’s continual need for 2 more inches of boob fabric is her Achilles’ heel. I just don’t get it. Because other than this, she is beautiful and regal.

Love Meryl, admittedly less smitten with Viola, but still very cool to see women in Hollywood who can act respectful as well as supportive of each other. Too often women are pitted against each other because the tabloids love a cat fight.
As for Cote… what did she do to piss off photographers so much that they pull THAT image out of what surely must have been hundreds of snaps at the event? That is truly a tragic way to hold your face when being photographed! When you can make a gorgeous woman look that unattractive, what hope do the rest of us mere mortals have?

Viola has awesome boobs but the dresses she wears never seems to do them justice. If they look like they’re trying to get out it’s not the best look. Otherwise love the dress and Meryl looks great, well put together this time 🙂
Viola’s skin looks like satin! So pretty 🙂 She’s got a great rack- the dress doesn’t really look too small, maybe just a little crooked in that area.
This has been my long time go-to for daily escapism, but I’ve never commented before. However, I had to add myself to the chorus of squees for these awesome women. Choosing Davis/Streep over Kanye/Kardashian is always the right choice! I’m completely obsessed with Viola Davis. I don’t have a favorite anything, but she is my favorite actress of all time. She got an Oscar nod for being in one scene in Doubt, and that’s because that one scene was so amazing! If I was at an event with Viola Davis, Meryl Streep and Marcia Gay Harden I would just die of girl crushing.

I love their dichotomous looks. Meryl looks demure and fresh in easy breezy cream, and Viola looks sexy as hell in form-fitting black. I fully believe that was coordinated. Which makes me giddy imagining Meryl Streep and Viola Davis dress-up parties.

Two thumbs up for a non-Kardashian post! And yeah, Meryl + Viola together is always a win. They are both so talented, classy, elegant, smart in interviews… What’s not to love? Also, I have no clue who Cote de Pablo is (too lazy to google/imdb), but I kind of like that dress. Usually I’d be on board the no-shapeless-sack train, but something about the shoulder tie, color, and length is working here, I think.

Talent like these ladies makes me proud to be a woman. Meryl and Viola are galvanizing on screen, two of my favorite actors. I wish Meryl did a little better in the fashion/fit department, but, honestly, it doesn’t matter because she’s so amazing. if you watch the access hollywood interview with meryl and viola you will hear meryl’s comment after reporter says her award is covering up ‘the girls’. Meryl then says ‘somebody needs to.’ Hahahaha! I love meryl! she always looks stunning and her beauty is ageless! like viola too!
