Here are what I consider to be some unusually dreadful photos of Timothy Olyphant walking through a wet and windy New York City yesterday. Mister Olyphantastic is currently in the big apple to promote the last leg of season four of “Justified,” and he’s making the talk show rounds, which we’ll get to in a moment.
First though, I’d like to talk about the Olyphant hair situation that’s going on in these photos. Allegedly, Olyphant himself wanted his Raylan Givens character to have longish hair this season because it supposedly symbolizes the disheveled turmoil that he’s experiencing at this stage in his lawman existence.
(Bad move, Olyphant. Don’t make me permanently change my alliance to Walton Goggins and his alter ego, Boyd Crowder. Because I can, and I will.)
As much as it pains me to admit, the shaggy hair is truly awful and masks the cute greying temples that Olyphant has been developing of late. Mind you, I’d still hit it because at least the man still looks phenomenal in a pair of jeans, right? That’s the Olyphant’s saving grace — along with his ability to wear a hat. Hey, some people don’t have “hat heads,” and I am one of those unfortunate types. Olyphant, however, looks good in any hat, not to mention a hat and nothing else at all. Or so I imagine. The “Justified” producers have yet to show him shirtless and wearing a hat as well. Can we get on that, FX?
While in Manhattan, Olyphant stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and he was his usual charming self in the interview and even cleaned his hair up a bit. Amusingly enough, Olyphant reveals that he only ended up appearing in his breakthrough role as the drug dealer in Go because he got fired from the Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman movie, Practical Magic. I think he definitely came out on top in that tradeoff.
So Olyphant thinks he’s no good at romcoms, right? Well, was pretty unforgettable in Catch and Release, which was a romantic dramedy. Have you seen the way this man kisses in that movie? It’s the only time I’ve ever been envious of Jennifer Garner, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I’m not sure I’d ever say no….
I know I never would! I may be hated for this, but I love the look of long hair, it goes well with the scruffy boots.
Oh, I so would. I still have a crush on him from Go, and Justified hasn’t slowed my momentum.
OMG me too! I saw Go in the theaters a million years ago and remember my jaw dropping when I saw him.
Even with him looking like the shaggy dog I would still hit it. I love this man; he’s definetely my favorite type of guy. God he was also hot in The Perfect Getaway.
And we got to see his fine ass!! 😀
Yes. This. I would hit it until the cows come home.
When I get sick and tired of all the nitpicking about people’s looks and the constant “Would you hit it?” i go elsewhere and read things where people react normally, instead of like teenage girls.
lol. Oh – OK.
Teenage – you mean like the dramarama comment you just made?
Don’t read them then! lol…
You go elsewhere like where? This is a gossip site where people are going to talk about the way celebs looks, what they say, etc. The comments on this site are much more un-teenager than many of the other sites including tmz, huff post, perez, etc. But if you want to go, can’t say that we’ll miss you.
I agree that I hate body-snarking. Everything else? This is a gossip site. Get over it.
Really Anom; where do you go…The New York Time
I’m not her/him, but the New York Times and this site aren’t mutually exclusive; I spend a lot of time on both!
I would so hit that. yumyum. Bet he has a magnificent package. Oh yeah.
hell yeah, he’s still hot.
I read the headline on my phone so I didn’t even have a header photo and my first thought was, “Probably”
Seeing the photos? Yes.
Come here honey and let me wash your hair and .. other things….
sponge bath to the rescue!
No is not an option, always yes.
The hair is bad, but it’s all for the role, and he has been really amazing this season.
I am also in the Walton/Boyd camp, but I see no reason a girl can’t love both.
+1
It just makes the show more fun to watch.
Who’s actually looking at his hair!?!?
Not me for sure 🙂
Damnit, I’d still hit that.
anywhere, anyhow, any hair.
I can’t recall if he was wearing a hat, but there’s one hell of a shirtless scene in 1 episode, I think season 1…? when Art/Nick Searcy comes to his motel room (and he’s either got Ava or Winona in there) to send him out on a job. He shuffles out to avoid letting Art in and is just leaning against the doorway with his jeans undone (and maybe the hat!), and it is everything! Might be the episode where Buster Bluth is the Art Dealer…
great, now I gotta go rewatch all of season 1 to find this scene… Oh, poor me, what a weekend… 😉
Oh yeah, I would. MIght not be my favorite hair style of his but he seems like a nice, down to earth guy. And he is a looker!
Not me 🙁
Yes, no question. Waiting for the 3rd season of Justified to arrive on Netflix in Canada, and not patiently, either.
he looks like my daddy when my daddy was younger
So I’m going to assume the answer for you is no; LOL!
Every day and twice on Sundays.
I totally would, even with the early 90’s Skeet Ulrich hair.
I can’t say no to a man who can kiss like him.i just can’t!
Those are the stumpiest man legs I’ve ever seen! Is it visual trickery, or is he that short legged?
I take it you’ve never seen Peter Dinklage?
I just looked it up and he is 6 feet tall. I think it’s the angle! 😉
Oh and my answer would be
HELL YES
Yes. Always yes. I love his swagger too much not to.
Sexy sexy sexy. Whether sporting a moustache and a cowboy hat, clean cut and pretty boy or grunge-y, you just can’t minimize this man’s hotness.
LOVE him.
Hi kitten! ♥
Sometimes when watching Justified I get distracted just looking at Tim’s face and then I don’t know what he just said!
~sigh~
Hi ZZZ!
Yes me too! This also happens to me with Jax on SOA.
I wanna be in a Jax and Raylan sandwich.
Is this even a question? I dig the stringy scraggly. In fact, I prefer it to the cleaned up version on Kimmel. I like my Olyphant to look like he doesn’t mind getting messy, if you know what I mean.
I doth not understand why you even posit this. The longer the mane, the better grip for to pull it with.
How is this ever in question?
Hell yeah is always the answer.
I fell in love with Todd the Drug Dealer in Go and I haven’t looked back. Scraggly Timothy just takes me right back there.
Uh, YEAH I’d hit that. I’d hit that all day long. I love love love him. And how he keeps his family life private… swoon.
Yup. Hard.
Slobber, slobber, drool drool. I have loved him since Bullock on Deadwood!!! These comments make me want to check out his other work as well~
I have always wondered why he is not A list.
“stringy & unkempt” HAHAHA, have you seen that super cheesy Hitman movie where he is ‘fake bald’ I’d hit That too, are you kidding?!! *wipes drool* 😉 I love men with longer hair.. And beards? Oh my!
He’s still awesome. What a face. What a body. I don’t care if he wears his hair down to his @ss.
Yes, absolutely. And even more so now that I watched that clip from Catch & Release…
I still love him best as the crazy pimp in The Girl Next Door…
No mention of him on Deadwood??? He was sooo crazy but very sexy.
Like a house on fire, and until we both dropped from exhaustion!!! 😉
OOOOOOOH YEAH
Yep, still would.
Is it wrong to admit I keep Justified saved on my TIVO? So when I need a pick me up, I just turn it on?
And the thing with Boyd and Raylan… is that they both have slightly pigeon toed walks.
So it gives then a swagger that is very becoming. Because a big part of their hotness, is how they move.
If you have not watched the show, it is hard to understand their appeal. You got to see them moving, to really see why all the girls are crazy for them. 🙂
Hi, boyfriend!
Anytime, anywhere, long hair, short hair, whatever. I’d appreciate him bringing Deputy Gutterson along for the ride.
BEST POST EVER! I’m crushing on him so hard it hurts. Oh Raylan my Raylan!
i want him even more with the stringy hair-very river phoenix of him
Also he was smokin’ in sex & the city back in the days. Damn lucky SJP..
Well, my initial response is ‘F..k yeah’ but what annoys one reader amuses me. ‘Would you still hit it?’ makes me smile, perhaps because I’m English and used to polite reserve.
And particularly in that second pic, the rough edges simply add to his appeal. He can rock a suit too (as in Hitman, even bald he looks good) but I prefer him casual.
Fun to read.
