Gwyneth Paltrow ‘brags about her peaceful divorce,’ she’s insufferable (shock)

Another day, another rumor that Gwyneth Paltrow is a smug, insufferable d-bag. I know, how shocking. I mean, I have to give it to Radar: they know their audience. When most of us hear any story about Gwyneth being insufferable, we’re like, “Yep, I bet that’s true.” And it probably is. Considering what she’s said publicly, it’s not hard to imagine she’s even worse privately, when she doesn’t have to self-censor for the peasants.

Anything you can do Gwyneth can do better! Park Avenue princess Paltrow and her rocker husband Chris Martin are having the most amicable divorce in Hollywood history but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that her smug attitude about the split is wearing on her friends.

“Conscious uncoupling’ has become a joke among Gwyneth’s friend,” a source close to the 41-year-old Country Strong star told Radar. “All she’s doing is bragging about how peaceful her divorce is and how she and Chris planned it so perfectly that it is hardly disrupting their lives.”

Paltrow has become the butt of jokes too, with Joan Rivers slamming her for her uptight attitude, with the 80-year-old comedienne saying she has a “stick up her rear end.”

And her website GOOP, where she made the announcement about her divorce is bleeding cash as Radar has reported, but none of that seems to phase the cool blonde beauty.

“Gwyneth has always thought she had the most perfect life and even though she’s getting a divorce and both of them are getting bad press she doesn’t care,” the source told Radar. “She has become insufferable saying how happy she is with the way everything is evolving. It’s so ridiculous to listen to her talk as if nothing bad is going on at all for her. But Gwyneth has always had a protected privileged life and this is no different.”

[From Radar]

One of my favorite headlines to come out of the Consciously Uncoupling was The Superficial’s “Gwyneth Paltrow Officially Declares Marriage Is For Poor People.” It’s so true. Gwyneth thinks that whatever she’s doing is the most cutting-edge thing, that she’s ahead of the curve. She really believes that divorce is the new “thing” and that only peasants stay married. That’s what this reminds me of.

Also, as I said on Friday, this week’s Goop-letter is all about everyday toxic products. Gwyneth offers suggestions (expensive suggestions) for how to rid ourselves of toxic chemicals in every day products. The funny thing is that she names a product from Jessica Alba’s Honest Company… and Gwyneth only gave it a “C” grade. Sort of:

Doesn’t sound like Jessica Alba and Gwyneth Paltrow will be joining forces anytime soon. On Friday, April 25, the recently uncoupled Paltrow fired off a GOOP dispatch from Hong Kong. This week’s installment of her lifestyle newsletter/website, entitled “The Dirty on Getting Clean,” is all about safe, non-toxic and environmentally friendly cleaning products—and at least one item from Alba’s own lifestyle brand, The Honest Company, gets a bad grade. “Many of the ‘clean’ products I proudly use (and have even touted on goop) have turned out to be a product of marketing, rather than actually safe,” Chris Martin’s future ex-wife wrote.

Deferring to Gregg Renfrew of skincare and cosmetics company Beautycounter as well as the Environmental Working Group (EWG) for expert advice on which products are truly safe and which ones aren’t, Paltrow, 41, writes: “I will never give up my perfume, but maybe I can switch to greener and unscented laundry detergent, and remove some of the hand soaps I thought were great until I checked them on EWG.org . . . Food for thought.”

The lengthy post then goes on to explain the hidden hazard (“80% of the chemicals in personal care products have never been tested for safety,” Renfrew says), all of the health risks involved, and then lists dozens of products and their “grades” as provided by EWG.

In the “What We Were Using” list is The Honest Company’s All-Purpose Cleaner, which was given a “C” by the EWG. EWG.org notes that Alba’s product “May contain ingredients with potential for acute aquatic toxicity; respiratory effects; nervous system effects,” and similar products from the Method and Green Works brands get a “C” and “F,” respectively.

Fellow actress/aspiring lifestyle guru Alba seemingly threw more direct shade at Paltrow last March while promoting her book The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You, she sniffed of Paltrow’s advice to moms and other women: “Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn’t grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing things and making things at home,” she told the New York Daily News.

[From Us Weekly]

That will teach that peasant to move in on Gwyneth’s territory. Dame Gwyneth is grounded! Just yesterday, she spoke to a peasant. She saw someone with dark skin and she asked them to retrieve her Mercedes. He was all, “Ma’am, I’m not a valet” but Gwyneth just ignored him until he brought her car around. And people claim she’s not grounded.

“Peaceful divorce” is as likely as a “gentle tornado.” Trust–I am on the “amicable” end of the divorce game and it’s still anything but peaceful.

    • Tapioca says:

It’s probably easier to divorce if your marriage has been over for years and you don’t have to live together in a cramped apartment with someone you hate because you haven’t sorted the financials yet.

      As I understand it…

      • aims says:

Right. I’m sure a divorce is less painful when you live separate lives and have for years. Unlike the rest of humanity who have to see each other day in and day out. Also, it takes some balls to be so arrogant to think your divorce is going to be better than anyone else.

  2. paola says:

I can’t stand her face anymore.
She wants us to follow all her tips about beauty and body care but look at her skin, her hair and her face. Now the ‘conscious uncoupling’. Just the name makes me barf. I’m sure next thing will be a book called ‘How to turn a nasty divorce into a great weight loss’. Silver lining, eh?

    • WTFava says:

Ikr. This is what I don’t like about Paltrow. She just seems a dirty sneaky trick (ask Winona Ryder, along with stealing Shakespeare in love from her back in the late 90s she’s also thrown shade at her on the goop site – remember the whole ‘frenemy’ discussion). She and her PR flack huvane deliberately use public forums be it photo ops of so called famous ‘girlfriends” socializing to prove they’re popular w/each other if no one else or a shiz website like goop or a so called comedy stage (Handler’s Jolie attacks) throwing shade it’s seems soooo premeditated. Just pr hack orchestrated to b*chily ‘get back’ at people. All alba said was she didn’t grow up well to do so her site was for the frugal minded, paltrow has admittedly boasted of being high end and pricey…so what’s she and huvane’s beef with Alba??

      • Snappyfish says:

Wait!! Winona Ryder was suppose to be n Shakespeare in love? I ALWAYS thought Cate Blanchett was ROBBED for her portrayal in Elizabeth that year to a Paltrow who wasn’t convincing as a boy (or a girl, for that matter) Ryder can actually act. I’m sad now. Of course I have always been a Gwenyth loather. Now I have more resolve that I was right to dislike this prig

      • JJ says:

Winona “claimed” the script was also sent to her.
Ever wondered how she thought she could pull off a male when she is only 5′ 3 and very busty. Urban myth created by Miss Shoplift herself.

  3. Sonya says:

It’s peaceful because it’s been over for years. All the ugly, sad, wretched parts happened years ago, when there were crying Gweneth pictures all over the mag covers and stories of how desperately she was trying to cling to her marriage.
Since they have enough money to just walk away from each other, it’s not like they are dealing with moving kids from a house to an apartment or suddenly being a one woman army of work, kids, play, discipline, cook… This chick is horrible.

    • BangersandMash says:

For someone who was so feverishly about her marriage, to make marriage sounds ‘peasanty’ is the absolute of irony!!

But it’s surprising how celebrities are anti-marriage now-a-days. Is it the new trend to be anti-monogamy??

Does it mean I’m an ignorant, glib little Cinderella if I still believe in monogamy and marriage??
I suppose, I’m totally gauche now!!

      • MonicaQ says:

That’s definitely the new trend because it’s “edgy”.

I married my HS Sweetheart, I am because gauche. I am gouache…delicious AND low class.

      • Xantha says:

I don’t think it’s a trend among celebs to be anti marriage. Many celebs have either gotten married or are engaged this year.

No I think this is just Gwyneth talking.

    • Birdix says:

But doesn’t everyone know someone like this, who talks and talks about how great everything in their life is, and you get the feeling they’re trying to convince themselves most of all? This makes me feel a little sorry for her, which annoys me too.

  4. Dara says:

The only thing she is on the cutting edge of is Douchebaggery.

  5. Jayna says:

Well, Chris in a radio interview that was posted on Daily Mail yesterday took the whole blame for the breakup and said he has been withdrawn for two years, pulling away, and that he has issues. Beyond that, he made no sense and nobody else could make sense of his interview about his issues either and posters wanted a translation. LOL. Something about not able to fully open up and love someone and kept talking in circles. But he fully took the blame for the breakup and seems to still love Gwyneth in his own way but that the breakup needed to happen because of him and that he needed to work on his issues and why he can’t open up and enjoy the happiness he has in his relationship and fully give his love — or something like that. LOL His interview was a rambling interview that just never said anything. You’re like, Huh? But h e definitely never blamed her and he definitely seems to have major issues. It’s what we said before, Gwyneth felt lonely in that relationship and began doing all of her antics about her sexy a s s and so forth needing validation

    • Birdix says:

Sounds like he’s been reading goop for the relationship advice (and juice cleansing to fog his thinking).

    • JJ says:

After that interview I wonder who wanted out first. CM sounds like an immature teenager who has a lot of growing up to do.

But true, he never went into “he did – she did” territory. I doubt there will be a lot of dirt, they have to keep it classy for their own sake and for the sake of the children. They probably were over for some time and just kept it together for the kids.

    • The Original G says:

Dis this pulling away from her happen before or after she cheated on him?

  6. BangersandMash says:

Yes, Dame G!! Yes, darling!! Pleeease sit down now, we’ve heard you!!
    Why??
Because, It’s so hard to relate to a person who’s lifestyle and money you can not even imagine, never mind see in your own life time.

But thanks darling for teaching up the ways of being a person who can brag a lot about their lives.

  7. Helvetica says:

These stories just sound like more drivel to get people to hate on her.

  8. poppy says:

    that’s gwynnsufferable™.
and she was born with that stick firmly lodged there, a sure sign of superiorness.

  9. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

“Conscious uncoupling’ has become a joke among Gwyneth’s friend,” a source close to the 41-year-old Country Strong star told Radar. “

I thought that was a funny typo – Gwyneth’s friend, not friends, like she only has one.

  10. Kali says:

    Oh of course she is.

    Insufferable, I mean.

  11. Liberty says:

I hope their friends have eye-rolling insurance.

  12. Allie says:

ummm, wait a minute. you can’t drop that the thing at the end in about the valet and someone with dark without commenting on it, right? That’s not real, is it? i really don’t like gwynnie, but i really hope that ain’t so…

    • Nighty says:

I sure hope not… I mean, it’s racist, to start with, shows a total lack of respect on people (she seems to never respect anyone), totally insane if this actually happened…I was thinking the same thing…
She must be in need of some psychiatric treatment… are there are treatments to show people they’re not the centre of the world?

  13. Kiddo says:

She’s monotonous, is what it is. Her entire schtick has become boring and utterly predictable. That’s the risk you take when you decide to promote yourself as a creature above humanness.
You lack what is interesting about being a real person.

  14. The Original G says:

This story should be titled “Gwyneth Paltrow cleans?”

  15. Zimmer says:

Blah, blah, blah…..non-toxic as she puffs away on her ever so toxic cigarette.

    • Nighty says:

She smokes? Really?? Wow, I smoke, but I don’t go around publicizing against things that are health hazardous, exactly because I smoke…

      • zimmer says:

Exactly, my point. Most of us have a vice, I do too. Therefore I’m not going to go bragging to my friends about how healthy I am for running a few times a week when I fill up on more than my fair share of sweets…

  16. MarilynGray says:

My brain is that fuzzy today I read that headline as “brags about her peacock divorce”.

Yet somehow that still makes sense. ..

  17. Jessica says:

People who are genuinely interested in *cleaner* products use website like Treehugger and Care2, and have been aware of the EWG’s lists for years.

A grade of “C” actually isn’t that bad. Most products you find in regular stores get grades of “F.” There are very very few “A” grades and you really have to seek those out on Amazon or special order. So I give Alba some credit for having a product the EWG considers better than most.

Goop will never give up her perfume – that’s rich. She couldn’t sound more vacuous and self-obsessed if she tried. Avoiding toxins is proper unless it interferes with her well-deserved indulgences. F&*k her.

  18. Izzy says:

This insufferable stick-figure. I think I’ll just “consciously uncouple” from following her life now. Ugh.

  19. LAK says:

Yep, another day, another GOOP is insufferable story. Doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. That’s her image now.

  20. Nicolette says:

Oh Gwyneth please take your loopy, goopy ideas and just shut it already. It’s time to get over yourself.

  21. Marny says:

Why does everyone believe every negative story about her? These ridiculous stories tell u what u want to hear! Everyone’s rationale for not believing insider reports on Angelina is that no insiders knew about her surgery but no insiders knew about Gwyneth’s divorce either so shouldn’t the same logic apply?

    • Xantha says:

I need for you to quit putting logic and reason in this post because I personally would like to hate on Gwyneth forever and ever amen. So stop it! 😉

Although…many people thought they would divorce at some point so it’s not exactly like Angelina’s surgery.

    • Moore says:

They are bashing her for not being upset enough about the divorce. It is like people want her to suffer and she just keeps pissing them off my being happy. I love it.
Angelina has the same issues. MANY people want things to go badly for her but she just keeps going, being happy, and doing good things. And I just love that.
