About a month ago, Chrissy Teigen opened up about her five-year fertility struggle. Chrissy and John Legend have only been married for a few years, but they’ve been together for a decade and have always known they wanted several kids together. Chrissy said she and John even tried fertility treatments, and nothing helped. Lo and behold, the gorgeous couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram. This is the thing to do for celebrities, yet it seems especially fitting since Chrissy practically lives on social media. Here’s the official announcement:
“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant. As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!”

Well, I would assume Chrissy is joking about the belly-touching urge, but you never know with her. She probably will enjoy it unless the gesture comes from random strangers. And I’m guessing John would spoil a baby girl rotten because he seems like the type to dote. Fair warning to those who don’t adore Chrissy — she will be an oversharing mom, and it will be glorious. She’s doesn’t fake her enthusiasm for anything and is so effusive, so the oversharing will be kinda cute. Maybe a little bit obnoxious (like many new parents) but mostly cute.
Congrats to Chrissy and John! They’re going to have so much fun changing diapers.

I literally squealed when i woke up and saw the news (we’re 6hours ahead of you), I love them as a couple and I was waitinggggg for this (i know, i shouldn’t, but they are too cute!).
And in my mind Chrissy is my imaginary BFF, and John is so hot and he’s cute too, so, I’m totally excited with the news. That’s going to be a cute baby. 🙂
They seem truly in love, and I bet they had a lot of fun trying (aside from the fertility issues, of course. I just think they’re a steaming hot couple and I’m sure their sex life is glorious). Congrats to the Legends and their wee Legend baby!

I love this couple & am very happy they are having a baby. But, she used my pet peeve in her announcement, she is pregnant, not we! It drives me bat shit crazy when couples say “we are pregnant” . No you’re not
I couldn’t agree more. It made me cringe because I really like her (them) !
But then by the same token, when she was talking about her fertility struggles should she have said “I” have been trying to get pregnant, “I” have fertility issues and so on? It takes two to make a baby and while the dad may not be physically pregnant, they are an excited team in this together.
Yes, SHE is trying to get pregnant, THEY are trying to make a baby, HE/SHE/THEY are having fertility issues (only they know who has issues with fertility of the two of them). Just because people like to generalize and not go too much into detail about their fertility issues so they say that THEY have fertility issues, doesn’t automatically make them both pregnant. He literally can’t be pregnant, ever.
So THEY are trying to make a baby, THEY went through fertility struggles ( and believe me it doesn’t matter who had the fertility issue, they BOTH went through the struggle) yet when it is announced she should have said “I” am pregnant and “HE” impregnated me? or how about “I” am pregnant and John’s the father? Just seems silly to me that two people who worked to have a child together aren’t allowed to say we are pregnant…
So if a gay couple is expecting a baby? Should they say our gestational surrogate is pregnant rather than we are pregnant or we are expecting a baby.GMAB

I find her grating and kind of a mean girl. I can be too, so I shouldn’t be too judgy. But remember her comments about Quvenzhane’ Wallis? She is a bit much for me.
I go back and forth but mostly can’t stand her. This should be fun!

Can’t be easy to have dealt with infirtility for so long. Congrats to them. I like hearing couples say “we” are pregnant. It was a joint effort and should be joint responsibility.
It sounds like she waited until she was actually pregnant to start talking about her fertility issues, right? Not knocking her for it; it makes sense that she would feel more comfortable sharing struggles that are finally in the past.
So happy for both of them. They’re adorable and seem so very solid. I never would’ve guessed that I’d be a fan of hers, but she’s grown on me so much. She never takes herself too seriously, maybe that’s it.

My jaw actually dropped when I read it last night, that’s gotta be hard to go through it and finally find some light. I’m honestly praying nothing goes wrong now that they’ve shared and that they do deliver a healthy baby.

But, Chrissy will always be Grumpy Cat’s human doppleganger (not sure how to spell it and way too lazy to google it).
And let me repeat! I am happy for them, and no I don’t think she is unattractive! In fact, she has unique features! Just want that to be clear, as I know some of you jumped down my throat about my feelings towards a female oscar winner who shall remain nameless since it’s not on topic!
