Paramount just released the trailer for director Michael Bay’s latest explosion-o-rama Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the sequel to the wildly (and inexplicably) successful 2014 reboot of the franchise. The trailer has it all: Megan Fox, as reporter and turtle confidante April O’Neil in a naughty schoolgirl outfit (for the fellas), Arrow star Stephen Amell as vigilante/love interest Casey Jones (for the ladies…rawr!), weird looking turtle-esque looking creatures, and, as with any Michael Bay production, things blowing up real good.
Believe it or not, 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earned $493.3 million at the box office on a $125 million budget. This sequel was greenlit soon after the reboot was released. I can only hope the presence of Will Arnett was the reason for the first film’s success.
In addition to Megan, Will and Stephen (and those odd looking turtles) the cast includes Academy Award nominated actress Laura Linney (How could you?) as the head of the NYPD’s organized crime division and, in his bid to put himself in every single movie, Tyler Perry – looking like a skinnier version of Eddie Murphy’s Sherman Klump from The Nutty Professor, who plays mad scientist Baxter Stockton.
So, check out the trailer, if you dare. If nothing else, all of the action is set to an interesting remix of Run DMC’s classic “It’s Tricky.” What? Was Vanilla Ice busy? The movie won’t be out until June 3 of next year, but are you already adding it to your summer movie list?

They are making a second one of these? Wasn’t the first bad enough?
I somehow feel bad for Megan Fox. She’ll always be used as a wet dream for Michael Bay and little boys.
I hope she is at least getting well paid for appearing in this crap
Actually this was directed by Dave Green not Michael Bay
But its MB’s production company and he’s producing it
No grown woman should wear that school girl outfit. Ever.
the turtles creeped me out the first time, creeps me out still.
Well that straight up tombstoned my childhood. The last thing Micheal Bay did that was good was Bad Boys.
Oh my goodness. I’ll admit right now that I watched the cartoons when I was a kid- but avoided all the live-action flicks they made in the 90’s because they looked awful.
That being said, my husband & I watched the first movie a few months ago when it came on TV & it was silly. Sure. But it also had a lot of funny moments w/ adult humor.
I’d never pay $ to watch it- but I could see why it was popular. A lot of people in their 30s or 40s have kids now & don’t mind the (occasional) nostalgia trip…with cocktails included lol
These turtles are so creepy. I’ll always prefer the one from my childhood.
I was excited about the first one but was really disappointed in it when I saw it. I was really surprised they made a second one, I never even heard about it until the trailer dropped yesterday. I don’t care what anyone says about the plastic surgery Megan has had done. She looks absolutely stunning to me.
Um…where are my gratuitous half-naked Stephen Amell shots? Let’s be equal opportunity around here, people.
She is so striking.
It made HOW MUCH, and here I thought it came and went and was a complete flop. Who does the voices for the ninjas?
The trailer looks silly to me but I can see why kids would like it. It seems silly but fun.
I was about to post the same thing, my 9 and 5 year old boys are going to love this, and it seems like a fun movie to bring them too, especially since they’ll recognize the villains as well
Tyler Perry looking like a skinny Klump. Haaaaaaaaa. He really does find his way into so many movies. I guess I can’t hate on his hustle.
Me, either. Good for him, I say. 🙂
Some things just don’t belong in live action. Really.
I was super excited for the first one, but so disappointed when they turned Shredder into basically a transformer. He’s supposed to be a man in armour, not some robot suit.
