Trailer for Jennifer Aniston’s upcoming movie, ‘Love Happens’

Access Hollywood (via US Weekly) has the trailer for Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart’s upcoming drama/romance, Love Happens, and I have to say it looks really good. You can probably correctly assume how it ends. We can’t be absolutely sure with this one though and it looks like it’s worth watching even if the genre is played out. Jennifer Aniston stars as a florist who falls for a widowed self help guru who is just passing through her city of Seattle. It looks like their characters both face their personal issues as they discover love.

The film is set in Seattle and is co-written and directed by Brandon Camp, who worked on the 2002-2003 Fox Series John Doe. It’s hard to tell based on his past work if the film will be decent as Camp and his co-writer, Mike Thompson, don’t have a lot of credits on their IMDB profiles. Judging by the trailer, it could be a thoughtful and touching drama – or it could fall flat. Either way, it will probably do well at the box office.

Love Happens, which had a previous working title of Traveling, will be released in the US on September 18.

  2. selma says:

    I like this very much
I am going to see it

  3. Asiont says:

    booooring romantic crap, again.

  4. Jolie says:

Sounds like shit happens any her latestest movie management didn’t even make 1million at the box office

  5. geronimo says:

Very difficult to get excited about a JA movie… if she did something with Rob Downey Junior, Javier Bardem, Christian Bale, Viggo Mortensen, I could probably summon up interest. Guess I’ll just sit and wait for that movie to happen…. 😉

  6. Mme X says:

trailer looks surprisingly good. they’ve worked together before, haven’t they? they seem to have pretty good chemistry. but of course the plot is a bit tired.

  7. j. ferber says:

Jennifer Aniston is the most prolific actress in Hollywood. And why not? She could probably make 10 to 15 rom-coms in one weekend, and for her there is no down side to that. I guess the market for pablum is not ending anytime soon.

  8. KelBear says:

Anyone know the name of that song in the trailer?

  9. xinya24 says:

BORING….It’s like watching Rachel Green all over again. How can you say it’s an interesting movie. There’s no spark, no chemistry between the two stars just by watching from the trailer. Besides, the storyline is the most used up in hollywood nothing original about it.

  10. Ebony Eyes says:

She’s a boring waste of space.

  11. nnn says:

    LAME. Same ole, same ole.

  12. justathought says:

when is she going ever look different in one of her roles or take on something chanllenging? i’d feel like i am watching the mom in “marley in me” making out with a stranger, or the character she played in ‘he’s just not into you’ finding someone into her… or, well you get my drift….skipping this movie. Yawn!

  13. Lizzie says:

how could anyone sit through this movie?
    the trailer sucks.

  14. bros says:

doing anything other than these constant rom-coms,which she can apparently churn out in her sleep doesnt take time away from her busy yoga and tanning and therapy schedule. there’s logic behind her tragic self-pigeonholing.

  15. Zoe (The Other One) says:

I wish she’d do something like ‘The Good Girl’ again. She’s done this role over and over and over.

Regardless, I’ll see it because I am a movie junkie…but I’ll moan it about it.

  16. truth-SF says:

Doesn’t look interesting at all. That’s too bad, since I usually like Aaron Eckhart’s movies.

p.s. When I was watching the scene with the scarf around her neck, for a minute I thought I was watching a scene from “Along Came Polly?”.

  17. Liam says:

Dang here go again~another boring a$$ movie. We see why all the lame awards her of team came up with to get her name in the media.
Why don’t she take a long long vacation then come back. I’ll bet you she will rock then. For now I’m done with her. She is going to turn out bomb after bomb while we call her bombs great movies.
She is still putting a real life on hold. Life is passing her by while she concentrate on these bombs and blame her ex for her own sucky life. Aparently she is too dumb to have a life and work like every one else in the world.

  18. Rhinn says:

@KelBear: The song is Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls

  19. selma says:

    haters!

Everybody on the net is saying they have chemistry and it looks great except offcourse the same old haters at a few sites

you don’t say when a action star actor does another actionmovie why does this actor do another actionmovie, do you?

She and he looks great in the trailler and i and a lot of other people happen to like this kind of movies

  20. ash says:

I’ll probably rent in on dvd. I love Aaron Eckhart though, so I may be awefully tempted to see it in theaters!

  21. Sol says:

I for sure will see the movie.I love romantic comedies.Real life lately is all about wars, death, economic disasters ,violence etc so romantic comedies for me are a breeze of fresh air.
Jennifer Aniston is a sweetheart as Meg Ryan used to be.I don’t understand why people critice her for doing similar type of films. In that case the same must be said of Angelina Jolie ,with films like tomb raider ,wanted ,mr and mrs etc.
Some actors do comedy ,others action, some drama and so on.

  22. nikky says:

ugh, please Sol, there are so many other typecast actresses that you could compare her to, why immediately go for angelina jolie every single time. this needs to die already.

how about “then the same must be said for scarlett johannsson who always plays the femme fatale in blah blah blah” etc or Kate Hudson, or any of a hundred other actresses. I hate how voicing a criticism of one of these two women always brings up “well, the same could be said for the other” type of comments. Why do we have to always define them in relation to each other? Jennifer is still a one note actress with no range, the fact that Angelina might also be a one note actress is irrelevant to this fact.

  23. someone says:

All I can say is..if you don’t like rom-coms, or Jennifer, then don’t see the movie..end of story..I like romance and comedy..altho this is a romance/drama..so I will see it. I notice the Brangies don’t mention any of AJs movies that smelled to high heaven..and there were a few…Jen has made some amazing movies, that made a lot of money! Or else the big wigs wouldn’t still be paying her…

  24. Alex says:

omg this is a aniston post, why bring Angelina name into it. Some people are way to obsessed with Jolie

  25. Liam says:

Someone it’s always Jennifer to Angelina. Please get over the triangle. I am not a B/A fan. I’m just sick to dealth of these boooringg rom comedies she do over and over again. What the H that got to do with B/A.
Always bringing up Angelina name only has made that women more of a super mega star incase you didn’t notice.

  26. Alex says:

    ITAWU Liam

  27. Rosalee says:

You don’t have to go to see her movies. So why the pathetic whine?

  28. me says:

Liam: So “She is still putting a real life on hold and life is passing her by…” eh? What does that even mean? She is an actress who works consistently at something she obviously likes to do-she has the money to back her up and probably lives a life you can only dream of. It seems that YOU are the one who can’t get over the Pitt-Aniston split. Really buddy-move on….

  29. Tia C says:

I like Jennifer Aniston most of the time, but GAWD, that looks boring… I love when she does comedy. We need more humor in the world right now, not this sappy crap.

  30. xxxx says:

Why people have to compare one dimensional Jennifer kinda repetitive role to Jolie’s when this last is the epitome of versatility ?

Hello, Jolie has done five action movies (the two Lara Croft included) in her whole career, last one “Salt” not even released yet : five !!!

She has done dramas with versatility in characters, playing wife, neurotic, girlfriend, mothers, ect, taking historical characters, thrillers, comedies, ect.

  31. Liam says:

Someone she really seem to live a life you dream about. My only interest is the movie she turn out. I do get sick of readind about the triangle junk. There are not that many good articles on her. Only thing pops up are this sicken triangle junk. Say what you want her life situation is what she created it to be no matter how you try to throw me in the mix. I’m just a movie watcher who would like to see more of a variety. I figure something is stifling her movie career and it must be her personel life but you personally know her so may be you know otherwise.
There are other stars so it is true that the whole lot of us fans that would like to see her do more of a variety of a movie will just turn to other actresses in their more exciting moves. You got to wonder how many truck load of fans can she lose.

  32. mica says:

im gonna watch it. I love her movies.

  33. j. ferber says:

I think Jennifer did do a variety of roles and no one liked that either. Some actors do have a narrow scope of what they’re good at/what people like to see them in. I just think she’s more determined than talented, like a lot of movie stars (Demi Moore, anyone?) Mostly, rom-coms these days are bland and predictable, almost like cartoons for adults. I’d say the same for action flicks. I do like quirky rom-coms, like this small independent film called The Thing of It Is… with Karen Silla, made some years ago. What’s wrong with a film that challenges you just a little? Not all movies have to be like comfort food.

  34. Chicamorena says:

    Rachel Greene rides again… *YAWN*

  35. lb says:

Aaron Eckhardt was awesome in Thank you for Not Smoking and JA was great in the Good Girl and the Breakup (neither were forumulaic). So it could be better than the general romance film depends on the script. As for the constant barrage of attacks on JAs character by Jolie fans, get over it, she doesn’t do violent teenage boy masturbation flicks so stop comparing.

  36. fizXgirl314 says:

damn it! *I* wanted to be the first to bring up AJ in this thread *pouts*

  37. dercy says:

Oh my gosh, this movie seems pretty awful. I couldn’t even watch the all trailer. Please stop doing this type of movies and focus in real cinema. If you have time, watch: Never Forever in watch-movies online or on any other site. It’s a korean-american movie that makes you think. And that’s what human beings need to do nowadays. Think!!!!!

  38. MeowMeow says:

Love Jennifer, love Aaron, totally will see it.

  39. Rosalee says:

^^^she doesn’t do violent teenage boy masturbation flicks so stop comparing.^^^^ Love it lb!

  40. HashBrowns says:

This looks more like romantic drama than a romantic comedy…if anyone cares.

Besides that, how wonderful of some of you to understand her so well as to know she has no life outside of filming movies. How long have you known her?

This movie looks like crap, but I don’t like romance movies of any sort. However, not every movie has to be a “thinker”. Some movies can be fluff and just allow you to sit back and be entertained. Or make you cry or make you laugh. They don’t only make movies for you art house movie snobs, you know. If they did, the movie industry wouldn’t make multiple billions a year.

  41. puke and vomit says:

What godawful crap. When is Hollywood going to stop pushing this boring hack and realizes she’s just a one-note mediocre sitcom monkey? Aniston makes Julia Roberts look like Meryl Streep by comparison.

  42. Any Mous says:

I think it looks good and they seem to have great chemistry together. If you don’t like her or think it doesn’t look like something you want to see………………….don’t go see it!

    Simple concept. Next…………..

  43. LBJ says:

Stock Hollywood Rom Com. So cliche, so boring. I wonder how they got Rachel…sorry I mean Jen, to stop clearing her throat after every line like she used to on the early episodes of friends. Enquiring minds want to know.

  44. san says:

    No thank you. I’ll pass.

  45. ohbrother says:

no thanks. saving my cinema coins and my time for movies that take thought and money to produce. these ‘wantabe’ actors and actresses make a fortune doing these cheaply made movies. this movie has no true sets, costumes are everyday wear, actors playing themselves, and ZERO creativity.

  46. Cheyenne says:

This is the third title for this film before its release. First it was Traveling. Then it was Brand New Day. Now it’s Love Happens?

If it does as badly at the box office as Management, they may want to re-name it Shit Happens.

  47. Chicamorena says:

someone: Jen has made some amazing movies, that made a lot of money! Or else the big wigs wouldn’t still be paying her…
    ****************************************************

Actually, they aren’t. Recently she’s had to produce and finance her own movies. She couldn’t get a studio to greenlight “Management” and I believe she had the same problem with this one. I know it took months for her to find a distributor for “Management” after it was shown in Toronto last fall.

I don’t know how much “Management” cost to make, but I can’t imagine any film being made for less than $10 million at the bare minimum, and so far it has earned $875,000 at the box office since its release over a month ago, and that includes $8,300 it has earned overseas (in Iceland, of all places) since it opened there two weeks ago.

I’m not saying Pitt or Jolie haven’t had some duds of their own; “Jesse James” only made $15 million and “A Mighty Heart” made $9 million. But $875,000 isn’t a bomb, it’s a thermonuclear meltdown. The studios will take one look at that debacle and run for cover.

  48. Any Mous says:

Yes, I’m sure that’s true based on her shooting 3 movies back to back recently (eye roll)

Her 3 movies before this were hits, so as you obviously must know since Jolie has had so many, everyone has an occasional bomb.

I realize that the only reason Aniston ever has a hit is due to:

    1) The dog
    2) The othert costars
3)The food vendor on the 1st Thursday of every shoot
    4) The way the moon aligns with the stars

But when it’s a bomb its 147% her fault, and none of those factors matter.

I’m sure she’s terribly worried about no work, when she has time to think about it, in between back to back movies.

  49. honestgal says:

why is she making a remake of along comes polly, …. wait its not the same movie? oh… yes i forget, she plays the same ROLE over and over again….why is she a movie “star” she is a one trick pony, with good hair, who married one of the biggest movie stars in the world, divorced him, and made crap films after her one and only TV show.. why are people so IN to her???

  50. dark says:

Totally agree with you Honestgal. Jennifer Aniston just sucks as an actress and her movies are awful.
And about HashBrowns- There’s nothing wrong with being art house movie snobs. Everyone should be able to enjoy a good movie and actually learn something with it, you dont have to be an Einstein to do that. What’s the point of sitting back on your sofa and look at some boring flick with mediocre actors and story line? It’s because people who dont like to think that the Hollywood industry is like crap even when they make billions each year. But if you ask someone when was the last time they saw a really good movie, maybe that person is gonna say:… well… i dont know, maybe in the 90th’s.
Nothing against people who enjoy this kinda Jennifer Aniston movies, but i just pass. I rather sit on my sofa and watch a blank screen than this type of movies.

  51. Any Mous says:

So why does a movie you don’t want to see, cause so much controversy? Just don’t go.

I really don’t understand the incessant bashing. There’s lots of movies I don’t want to see. I don’t waste a minute of my time thinking about them.

  52. jamie says:

Any Mous, no offense, but i think you’re in the wrong site. This is celebitchy, or in other words, a site to read news about celebrities and express your opinions even if they are smart or not, favorable or not. That’s why i come here and most of the people too. To read different opinions. I dont have nothing against Jennifer Aniston movies but i really dont waste a minute of my life thinking about them. Ups! Except this time, sorry.

  53. Any Mous says:

I dont have nothing against Jennifer Aniston movies but i really dont waste a minute of my life thinking about them. Ups! Except this time, sorry.
    —————————-

    LMAO! Exactly my point.

It just seems people have so much invested in what she does when professing she’s worthless. I like to gossip and speculate as much as the next person, but if someone annoys me to that extent, I don’t even bother reading about them. I just find it strange.

  54. HashBrowns says:

@dark: You completely missed my point.

My point isn’t that art house movie snobs are bad people or that movies that make you think are bad. The point I was making is that not every movie is going to be a thinking film. That is reality. I don’t want to have to sit and think every time I watch a movie.

I love Alice In Wonderland. Does it make me think? No. Is it a good movie? Yes. Is it full of absolute nonsense and stupidity? Yes.

The last good movie I saw, I’d say, was The Reader. That wasn’t in the 90s. The last crap movie I saw, that I enjoyed, was The Hangover. I plan on seeing Harry Potter, the new Transformers movie and possibly the Proposal (Ryan Reynolds..yummy).

But I’ve also seen and enjoyed all of the Oscar nominated films of last year and I like Hitchcock movies (Rear Window being my favorite).

What I guess I’m trying to get at, very inarticulately, is that there is a time and a place for everything and romantic comedies and romantic dramas have a place in cinema just like art house films do.

And the point of sitting back watching a movie with mediocre actors and story line is so that you can just check out and enjoy mindless entertainment. Some people enjoy mindless entertainment.

  55. liz says:

Yay Jennifer and Bradley Cooper had a date and no she doesn’t have a movie coming out .

  56. dark says:

You made yourself clear, Hashbrowns. Didn’t understood your point of view but now i do. Thanks for being polite too. But i wish we could enjoy more interesting movies. I saw The Reader and i loved, but if you ask me, maybe it was the only one this year (although the year didn’t finished yet and i’m hopping to see more). But maybe many people loved that movie because it made them think just a little bit. Just saying…! Hollywood should give more credit to true actors, directors and so on, and people should watch more independent movies too. There’s lots of great stories in this type of movies that Hollywood could bring to the table. But this is just an opinion of a person who really loves cinema and watch almost everything.

Liz, do you realize you’re saying she doesn’t have a movie coming out on a post that’s advertising her new movie that’s coming out soon. Ironic, isn’t it.

  58. liz says:

Yeah I know but this in June there is no way they will still be dating in September. Also I was trying to be sarcastic earlier.
